Who is Dusk Chaser?

The day of the Annual Combat Org Spar Fest is here. Everypony was either practicing, or getting seated. Today was special. It was special enough that King Moonlight, Queen Sunshine, Rose Heart, and Night Frisk decided to watch. As soon as everypony settled down, the competitors and cheerleaders went onstage. They all sang the Canterlot anthem led by Night Frisk, since he was the captain of the Solar Guards and the event was held in the morning. After the anthem, the cheer squad performed the opening cheer. You could see mares flipping, twirling, stretching, and twisting. There were also a fireworks display courtesy of the Dazzle group. After the ceremonies, the competition began.

"The rules are simple," said the referee, "Each contestant can use any form of combat he knows. When an opponent faints, is knocked out of the ring, or is deemed unfit for battle, the battle ends. During the competition, members of the Paladin group may not use their weapons." Finally, the match-ups were shown. There were a total of 5 battles. There were a total of 32 contestants, 11 from the paladin group, 11 from the dark arts group, and 10 from the aerialite group.

The first match was Silver Haze versus a stallion from the Aerialite group. Silver Haze just used a spell that prevented flying. Not having trained for flightless combat, all the stallion did was throw a measly punch. Silver Haze dodged it and used a blast of magic too send his opponent out of the ring. Dusk's first match began as well. He was fighting a stallion from the Dark Arts group. Being a member of the paladin group, Dusk was taught how to defend against magic. The stallion launched a beam of magic that turned into lightning. Dusk used a trick on defending against lightning, he struck his hooves on the ground and spread his wings. All the lightning was redirected into the ground. Dusk charged at his opponent and kicked him with his hind legs. His opponent was knocked out of the ring. The rest of the pairings were already finished.

The battles were intense, each competitor was fighting harder and harder. Cheering and clapping could be heard everywhere. Soon enough, the fourth match began.

Silver Haze's match began. He was facing off against a member of the Black Arts group like him. His opponent used a powerful blast of magic. Silver Haze absorbed all this magic using a magic draining spell. He used this energy to form a magical serpent that wrapped around his opponent, restricting all movement. Silver Haze then used his own magic to release a gigantic beam of lightning. His opponent was knocked unconscious.

Dusk's fourth match began, he was facing of against a member of the aerialite group. "Hey look, it's the only winged pony not in the aerialite group." taunted Dusk's opponent.

"So what?!? I'm still going to win." said Dusk.

"Yeah right." said the pegasus rushing towards Dusk with a punch ready. As soon as the pegasus was near Dusk, he threw the punch. The punch made direct contact. Dusk was now injured.

"Ha! Loser!" said the pegasus. Suddenly, Dusk was behind the pegasus. Dusk flew as high as his wings could take. Dusk dived straight down into his opponent and gave him a harder punch.

"Who's the loser now?" said Dusk claiming victory.

Soon enough, the final match line-ups were revealed. "Our final combatants are Dusk Chaser from the paladin group, and Silver Haze from the dark arts group." said the referee. Before the last match, the cheer squad did a performance. After the show, Luna, Celestia, and Starshine approached their friends.

"Good luck guys." said Celestia.

"Yeah may the best stallion win." said Starshine.

"Good luck Dusk." said Luna giving him a small kiss on the cheek.

"Thanks girls." said Silver Haze.

"Yeah thanks, especially you Luna." said Dusk, whispering the second part.

The final match began. Dusk was fighting against Silver Haze. A member of the Paladin Group versus a member of the Black Arts Group facing off. "Remember, I won't go easy on you." said Silver Haze.

"I know, I won't either." said Dusk. The match began.

"Let's make this more interesting," said Silver Haze, "This match can only be won by knockout, no ring-outs." Silver Haze cast a spell around the ring which prevented ring-outs. As soon as the spell was finished Dusk threw a punch at Silver Haze, only to miss. Silver Haze conjured up 8 magical limbs that released an infinite amount of punches. Dusk used his speed to dodge every punch. Dusk flew as high as he could. He used his wing strength to blow up a hurricane. The hurricane surrounded Silver Haze. Silver Haze was lifted up into the air. Dusk flew on top of the hurricane. He used all his strength to charge at him. The hurricane enhanced Dusk's speed. Dusk punched Silver Haze so hard that he was blown into the ground. Silver Haze teleported on top of Dusk and used a magic blast to attack Dusk. Dusk was blown into the ground. Silver Haze conjured up 8 limbs again and repeatedly punched Dusk. This time, every punch hit its mark. Wanting to end the fight, Silver Haze used his most powerful spell.

"TAKE THIS!" shouted Silver Haze hurling a greyish red compressed ball of magic at Dusk.

"What the?!?" said Dusk, unsure how to defend.

"DUSK, NO!" shouted Luna in the ROYAL CANTERLOT VOICE feeling worried about Dusk. Suddenly, Dusk remembered that he could perform ONE spell. This was the spell he learned during magic training when he was still a colt. This was the spell he designed for only bat ponies to use. Dusk flapped his wings, which was how he would perform his spell. Suddenly, a dark bluish purple aura surrounded Dusk. As the ball of magic got closer to Dusk, the aura that surrounded him formed into a protective crystal-like ball. *BOOM* Smoke filled the sparring room. "Oh no, no, no, no, no, Dusk are you alright?!?" said Luna. As the smoke cleared, it revealed Silver Haze still standing and Dusk standing as well! The ball of magic was absorbed by the crystals that surrounded Dusk.

"Yeah I'm alright! Thanks for asking said Dusk." Everypony watching cheered.

"So what, just cause you can perform one spell despite being a bat-pony, doesn't mean I'm letting you win!" said Silver Haze.

"Well then, I guess I'll just send back your attack then!" said Dusk. The crystal ball that surrounded him glowed. All the magic absorbed by the last attack was formed into a ball which hovered over Dusk. The crystals that had surrounded Dusk surrounded the red and dark bluish purple ball of magic. Dusk launched this ball of magic at Silver Haze.

"Uh oh!" said Silver Haze conjuring up a magical shield. The shield was completely obliterated. A gigantic amount of magic had struck Silver Haze. Silver Haze was defenseless and was knocked unconscious. Dusk had won the match.
