Who is Dusk Chaser?

Many years have passed, many ponies have come and gone. Right now, nothing in particular was happening. The day was calm... a little too calm. Anywho, Princess Luna and Celestia had just finished lowering the moon and raising the sun. Luna then proceeded to take a nap, and Celestia proceeded to do her royal duties. Everypony else was busy as well. Today, Dusk was just training with Aria in the combat room. Ever since the incident in the Everfree, both bat ponies learned to hone their abilities. Aria was also made co-captain of the Eventide guard. Everything was awesome.

"Do you *huff* want to *huff* take a break?" asked Aria.

"Sure, let's *huff* take a break." replied Dusk. Both ponies trained all day. It was incredibly tiring. Training however, was required. Being the captain and co-captain of a group of royal guards needed tons of power and discipline. Thankfully though, after Aria got appointed as co-captain, ponies liked bat ponies more. Many bat ponies became more sociable and some even joined the royal guards. After a short water break, Dusk and Aria resumed training.

"Okay, what do we practice now?" asked Aria.

"How about endurance flying? I still can't go past my limit of ten minutes." replied Dusk.

"But you know what happens when you fly longer than ten minutes, you can't fly longer than that or else you could lose flight altogether." warned Aria.

"Fine, how about echolocation?" asked Dusk.

"Sure. First, lights out!" said Aria, as the lights turned off. One of the special features of the room was the ability to recreate any location or weather. It was now pitch black, nopony could see anything. Right before they started, Luna came into the room.

"Dusk, Aria, why can't I see anything?" asked Luna.

"We're practicing echolocation." replied Dusk.

"We needed to recreate the darkest night ever." said Aria.

"Oh, can I help in training?" asked Luna.

"Sure! You could be our referee. You just say who reached you first." replied Aria.

"Okay then." replied Luna.

Dusk and Aria made their way to one end of the room. Luna managed to go to the other end of the room. "Okay guys, you can start now." said Luna. With that, Dusk and Aria started screeching. It was kinda hard to do this because their screeches affected each other. Because of this, both bat ponies kept bumping into things. Eventually, they crashed into themselves.

"Ow! What just happened?" asked Dusk.

"I don't know. Somepony turn on the lights." said Aria. Luna just turned on the lights, revealing Dusk and Aria tangled in a rope.

"Where did the rope come from anyway?" asked Luna.

"I don't know." replied Aria.

"Hmm... I think I know. I smell Clex somewhere in this room." said Dusk.

"What? How could you know I'm here even with my invisibility spell?" asked Clex.

"Bat ponies have excellent senses, one of which is smell." said Aria.

"Dang it!" said Clex.

"What are you even doing here?" asked Dusk.

"Oh, I was just gonna see if you could help me train." replied Clex.

"Then what's with the rope." asked Aria.

"I was bored waiting." relied Clex. Dusk agreed to help Clex in his training.

"Okay, so what do you want to do first?" asked Dusk.

"Same as always, first one to faint loses." said Clex.

"Fine, your move Clex." said Dusk. The match began, Luna and Aria stepped to the side. It was a good fight. Clex was on the verge of winning.

"So, how does it feel to lose this time Dusk?" asked Clex.

"I'm having mixed feelings about it actually." said Dusk.

"Any last words?" asked Clex.

"Actually, yes," replied Dusk, "Luna turn of the lights." The room turned pitch black.

"What the? Isn't this cheating?" asked Clex.

"Remember, our agreement says that we can use all our abilities. One of mine is echolocation." replied Dusk. Dusk easily turned the tides around. Clex was now the one close to losing. Eventually, a crashing sound was heard.

"What happened?" asked Luna, turning the lights on.

"It seems I got caught in Clex's rope... again." said Dusk.

"So, who wins?" asked Aria.

"I say it's a tie." said Clex. Both agreed.

"So, what do we do now?" asked Dusk.

"Want to visit Equestria2?" asked Clex.

"Oh yeah! Aria hasn't been there anyway, good idea." said Dusk. With that, Clex opened the portal to his home dimension.

"Let's go!" said Aria. Luna, Dusk, and Clex followed.

"What the heck happened here?!" shouted Clex. There were hydras attacking Canterlot.

"Why are hydras attacking?" asked Dusk.

"How should I know? It was fine before I left." replied Clex. There were five hydras attacking. All the guards were having difficulty defeating one. Six mares were fighting another. The princesses handled the third, and the rest of the citizens were dealing with the fourth. The last one was the biggest of them.

"We have to help." said Aria.

"I agree, let's focus on the last one." said Luna. With that, they all flew to the hydra. They all started to attack it. Luna fired multiple beams of magic, Clex tried to burn it with his magic, and Aria and Dusk launched tiny scales to pierce the hydra. Unfortunately, the hydra put up a fight. The hydra slammed its tail into them. Clex stood up and tried more spells. Dusk followed soon and tried ramming into it. Nothing they did had much effect. Eventually, they had won. All five hydras were dealt with. Soon after, Celestia teleported the fainted hydras away. Everything was great until Dusk and Clex fell down.

Aria and Luna rushed them both into a hospital. Apparently, during the fight, both Dusk and Clex had multiple broken bones. Dusk was also bit by the hydra. All Luna  and Aria could do was hope that they were okay. After an hour or so, the doctor came out with the news. "How are they doc?" asked Luna.

"Clex is more or less fine already. Being a unicorn, his body quickly responded to the healing magic. Dusk however, wasn't so lucky." said the doctor.

"What does that mean?" asked Luna, a little worried.

"While his skeleton is healing, many of his vital organs were pierced. We will need to keep him here until we can ensure that these organs can be cured." said the doctor. A tear ran down Luna's face, Aria was sad too. Both mares decided to wait in the hospital to ensure their friends' safety. Dusk and Clex shared he same hospital room. After a while, Clex regained consciousness.

"Hey guys, why the sad face? Where's Dusk?" asked Clex. Aria pointed behind him. As soon as Clex saw his friend, he asked, "What happened to him?!"

"According to the doctor, many of his vital organs were pierced. If they don't cure them, Dusk might die." said Luna, she continued to cry.

"What?! Maybe I can help with my magic." said Clex.

"I'm afraid that might not work Clex." said the doctor, who just walked in.

"What do you mean?" asked Clex.

"Dusk's body doesn't react that well to magic. Vital organs are also beyond repair from magic. There's nothing else we can do but observe him. If his body accepts the healing magic, he might saved from fatal wounds. Even if that happens, we can't be sure that Dusk will recover." replied the doctor.

"What can we do then?" asked Aria.

"Hope for a miracle." said the doctor.
