Credit to Acoustic Pulse for getting me all started in this. I hoped you enjoy the story! The Getaway Rarity is a filly who lives in a beaten up, old, wooden house with her abusive dad and depressed mom. She never knew what friends were like growing up. There was no computer but Dad's old army computer and if she messed with that, her dad would tear her apart and eat her. She wanted to have a better life, but that wouldn't happen for all the years up too 18 she would move out, find a partner, maybe even have a child or two. But, for now, she lives in this miserable life she hates. Rarity walked up to her dad while she was working and asked "Can I go outside?", She asked flinching Flinch as she may, her dad slapped her and said in the cruelest tone of voice, "Does it look like I wanna go outside and watch you play some dumb ass game with your imaginary friends?!" She ran too her room and started to cry. She had gotten used to her Dad's slaps but this time, it was worse. He slapped her as hard as he could, even knocking her off-balance a bit. She stopped crying and stayed in her room and played with the fewest of passed down teddy bears she had until her mom called her for lunch. She sat down they didn't have much food in the house usually for lunch rarity gets a piece of bread and sometimes a carrot from the garden. "How is everyone's day going?", Her mom said trying to break the silence. "Fine.", Rarity said kinda sounding like her mom after she took her medicine. " Who gives a fuck? Same shit, different day.", her Dad snarled. Rarity finished her food and went back to her room thinking about when she finally turns 18. She never got to take naps because her mom and dad were always arguing, but this time, Rarity heard something about her mom giving her father a divorce paper and taking Rarity with her. What a wonderful day that will be in half past never.', the filly thought. Rarity went back up into her room, and just thought and thought and thought. She finally came with a brilliant idea out of the blue. " I've got to get away from here.", She mumbled to herself. When she didn't hear anymore yelling, Rarity looked back and forth down the hallway to see if there was anyone there. She wrote a note to her parents. When you have found this letter, I would have already been gone. I can't live like this anymore. I'll be better gone. Don't come after me. Sincerely, Rarity P.S. Dad, you're a useless piece of shit son of a bitch. P.P.S. Mom, I miss you. She found a dusty old bag big enough to hold maybe a weeks supply of meals ( 7 pieces of bread,15 bottles of water) "Perfect!", She mumbled to herself. Looking more around in her closet she found a old saddlebag with beaten up word the looked like Tyler Belle that was her dads name she cleaned up the case including her dads name. She newly wrote her name up there Rarity Belle She packed up everything she needed (clothes, books writing utensils,etc.). She went to the kitchen and taped the note on the table, and left as quickly as she could. Rarity could still see her house, but it looked like a little brown speck. She thought she heard someone saying, "Rarity? Rarity where are you?". It sounded like her mother had found the letter on the table. She upped her trot to a gallop until she couldn't hear her mother calling for her anymore. After what felt like forever, she found a nice hill to set up camp at. She took some matches that she had packed from her saddlebag, and made a fire for the night. Rarity awoke and immediately saw the apples on a tree. She started to pick the apples and putting them in her bag saving one for breakfast. Rarity put out the fire, packed her sleeping bag back up, and started back on the trail. She walked and walked and walked until it felt like miles she had trotted. She decided to eat an apple to get her energy back up. "I hope Mom's okay.", said Rarity, sounding kind of homesick, even though her dad is as cruel as they come. Rarity continued her journey away from home. She came past an old town. The stallions and mares were polite to Rarity, and for the first time in forever, Rarity had some friends. She stayed for the day, sharing apples and almost all of her bread with the townsfolk, since she saw some Granny Smiths on the tree up ahead. Rarity woke up bright and early but her friends woke up earlier. She said goodbye to all the nice ponyfolk and said she may visit sometime soon. Rarity picked some more apples for her long, long journey ahead. She ate her last piece of bread and drank the rest of her water for breakfast that morning. On she went homesick and leaving her new friends behind. "I only wish I knew where I was going." Rarity said to herself. She continued walking down the dirt road while afternoon turned into evening. Rarity took another match and started another fire. She gathered up all her materials, which consisted of a match, some dry grass, some twigs, and a couple small stones that she picked up on her journey. She laid down her sleeping bag and sat down on the ground eating her apple for supper. She saw a small pond and took some water in it and put it over the fire. When it was done she drank a couple of sips of water and put it away. "I only have five apples. I might need to skip breakfast one day or hopefully I'll find a apple tree.", Rarity said checking her bag. She slipped into her sleeping bag and looked at the night stars above before she fell asleep. When Rarity woke up, her stomach was growling, so she took an apple and some water and ate before she started packing up. END OF CHAPTER 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// The Trip //-------------------------------------------------------// The Trip She continued walking and walking and she walked some more. She came across a very small town with very few people there she met another filly. "Hello there, I am Rainbow Flower and you are?" The blue Pegasus said. "Oh hello...I'm Rarity...Rarity Belle." She said never interacting with another kid before. "So, where are your folks?" Rarity asked curious of she could possibly stay the night. "Oh uh...They're gone..." Rainbow Flower said after a while with a tear rolling down her face. "So you have no one?" Rarity said. "Pretty much." Rainbow Flower smiled trying to lighten the mood. "I know how you feel...They're still here but I'm gone..." Rarity said confessing she had run away. "Hey, can I ask you something?" Rainbow Flower said almost desperately. "Yes, of course." Rarity said. "Can I join you on your trip?" Rainbow Flower asked. "Okay, I could use some company." Rarity said happy to have someone helping her on her journey. "Yay!" We can stay the night here I have my own sleeping bag." she said. As Rarity followed Rainbow Flower to a small building she comes across all kinds of knickknacks and cool things. Rainbow Flower put everything she needed in a rugged forest green backpack. "Okay the only thing left for me to pack is my sleeping bag and I need to sleep in that so I am good for now." "Me too." Rarity climbs into her sleeping bag she had already rolled out and falls asleep almost instantly. Rarity woke up very early. She nudged Rainbow Flower to get up but she was already awake. They skipped breakfast, making there way back on the trail once more. They were silent for a while. Nothing there was interesting for young foals. "Hey look some apples." Rainbow Flower said breaking the silence and pointing ahead. "Finally I'm starving..." Rarity said smiling. They trotted quickly to the apples Rarity and Rainbow Flower picked as many as they could carry and ate. They ate until they just couldn't eat anymore. This was the first time in a long time they were actually full. Rarity had never been fed enough to ever be full. After there meal they both picked more apples and put them in both of there packs. They shared a bottle of water while they trotted. "The forest is so beautiful this time of year." Rainbow Flower said. "Yeah, I'm really glad I am able to see it." Rarity said while smiling. "Where exactly are we heading?" Rainbow Flower asked. "I have no idea but when we get there we will know." Rarity said. "That's nice." Rainbow Flower said feeling very happy. After going through multiple towns they saw it in the distance. Manehatten she didn't know the name of it at the time but she knew that was the placed she stopped in her tracks to soak it all in. It was only a 2 or 3 day walk. She was almost there. Her thoughts were soon interrupted by Rainbow Flowers voice. "Rarity???" Rainbow Flower was almost screaming. "Oh...uh...what?" Rarity said. "Okay good thought you were dying you were looking off into the distance and smiling for like 5 straight minutes." Rainbow Flower said relieved. "Oh well I'm okay but I found where the heck I am going." Rarity said to Rainbow Flower. "Where?" She said very curiously. "There..." She said pointing at the humongous city. "Manehatten?" Rainbow Flower said. "Yes that's it...Manehatten..." Rarity said imaging her being a famous celebrity. "Well I am very sorry but I'm not going to be joining you." Rainbow Flower said a bit sadly. "Why not?" Rarity said sad that her first foal friend if going to leave her. "I have some family that live in the town ahead. I am going to live with them I never had the guts to walk alone here." Rainbow Flower said. "Well I hope that your family will treat you well." Rarity said smiling to lighten up the mood. "Me too..." Rainbow Flower said. As soon as they knew it they were at the next town looking for Rainbow Flowers family. Until, she saw them her Aunt and Uncle were standing there. They were just as shocked as she was. Rainbow Flower galloped to them and gave them both a big hug. Rarity slowly trotted towards them. They thanked her a lot for getting Rainbow Flower to them. She stayed the night with them they tried to get her to stay but Rarity refused. There she was back on the path alone once more....
