The void in which I have lived for an uncountable amount of time was lifting. Slowly the nothingness of my slumber was pierced by white points of light all around my view. A slight tug was all that was needed to awake me. My sixth since, the high sensitivity to gravity, reminded me that it was time to feed. Across millions of miles I could see that one star was larger that the others. Slowly I approached the bright ball of gas. After a long awaited journey, I was close enough to the star to feel its energy giving warmth. I shifted my form to absorb as much light as I could. It was refreshing, like a splash of water to remove any grogginess. Within the hour I was at my maximum potential. I glowed with the intensity of a small sun, giving off an angelic appearance. My mind and scenes started to function as normal after their eons of slumber. I soon felt a slight pull, not as prominent as the sun’s but noticeable none the less. My curiosity got the better of me as I pushed of towards the unknown celestial body. Months pass as I drift through the vacuum of space. This was nothing new, in comparison it was a very short amount of time. I, like all ‘drifters’, where created in the moment of creation. As the universe expanded so did the drifters. I have slumbered for eons before awakening to feed of a star in my path. As the source of the anomaly started to come into view, its moon crossed in front of it and effectively blocked my vision. I impacted the moon with only a small amount of dust to show for it. I quickly recovered from the impact and studied my surroundings. To make traveling easier, I used a small amount of power to form a body out of the rock on the moon’s surface. After forming the body which gave me a golem like appearance, I started my trek to the other side of the moon. After a lengthy walk on the barren surface, I could see the planet peeping over the moon. There was something odd about it though. It had colors I would not normally see with planets in my other visits. It had large amounts of green outlined by deep blues. This seemed to fill me with such a powerful sense of curiosity that I had never experienced before. I have always had a deep need to learn. Having very little to do for years at a time drove my thirst for knowledge. The gifts I was born with allowed me to manipulate matter at will. I could do thing as simple as condense matter or as complex as changing elements by using fusion and fission. I can, as I did earlier, form bodies from the matter around me. Such acts take a large drain on my power I store, but direct exposure to sunlight can help me recharge. As is stared at the planet in wonder, I noticed something that was abnormal. The moon seemed to accelerate momentarily as if being shifted into the right place. With my already wide knowledge of the universe, this did not fit in any way, shape, or form. This was all that was needed to over rule any logical thoughts and made me act on my curiosity. I launched towards the celestial body, curled up my form to make a shell of rock, and readied myself to hit the atmosphere. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It was that time of year again. It was winter solstice, the longest night of the year. To celebrate this event Luna, princess and controller of the moon, was starting a meteor shower to show all over Equestria. In the small town of Ponyville, one lavender unicorn was on her balcony waiting for the event. Using her magic, she levitated a quill and scroll to record everything she saw. She was quite meticulous with here studies, she was Princess Celestia’s protégé after all. “Twilight,” called a young voice from behind the mare “I got those astronomy books you wanted.” The voice came from a green and purple scaled baby dragon. He was carrying five or so large books over to Twilight. “Thanks spike,” Said Twilight as she was handed the books from the little dragon “are you going to watch the shower or call it an early night?” “I was going to watch the meteor shower, but… I decided it was just a bunch of falling rocks. Well, good night Twi.” “Good night Spike, don’t let the Parasprites bite.” Twilight said in a motherly tone. Twilight turned away from the small dragon and looked towards the night sky. The meteor shower started slowly, one shooting star every fifteen or so seconds. Within five minutes you could not count a second in between the meteors. Twilight looked up in awe at the sight. She had completely forgotten about the notes she was going to make on the event. She watched each little star arc across the sky and disappear. Ten or so minutes passed and the shower was just starting to slow down. Twilight was watching one shooting star in particular. By chance she saw it when it first became visible, and was not looking at the hundred others all across the sky. The one shooting star she was watching seemed to last longer than the rest. Twilight’s mood went from one of wonder, to curiosity, to fear as she watched the one falling star get closer and closer to the earth. It was now the red and whit fireball coming down to what she perceived was a ninety degree angle. It came streaking down from the heavens and impacted with a flash outside of Ponyville. Then about two seconds after the impact, a thunders bang hit the ears of the unicorn. Her heart filled with dread when she realized where it landed: Sweet Apple Acers Hey guys!
