The days where friendship was magic have long passed. Wars are now fought with guns, blades, and behemoths called Archangels. Monsters called "Judex" attack civilians that dare try to leave the safety of the country borders. Now life is so dark and serious that people have to search for a reason to smile every day. Underneath all of these changes though, is a truth so devastating that it'll shake the foundation of the world if ever discovered.

In the middle of all of this is the "Morning Star", code name for Canterlot's newest weapon. Those who try to tame the Morning Star are driven to madness, it acts on its own, and yet Princess Celestia believes that this cursed weapon will be the salvation of Equestria.

No one can tame it... except for one.

Spike, now in possession of the Archangel "Lucifer", must fight to protect his country, protect his friends, and hopefully save the two most precious ponies in his life. But will this machine help him find what he lost, or will it destroy what he has left?
