The war in the Southern Gryphon Colonies was enduring and vicious. In the dozens of harsh, unforgiving climates of the mountains of the colonies, many courageous ponies lost and gave their lives for their country and comrades. The valley floors are still littered with the dead from both sides of the conflict, serving as an unmarked grave for all who were lost.

Mustang was a soldier with the Air Guard's 35th Joint Strike Force, an elite regiment of the best warriors from across the Air Guard. During his time in the unit, he fought to the bitter end alongside the greatest ponies he ever knew against the gryphons to protect the country and the ponies he loved. But young Mustang quickly learned just what it truly means to fight a war so far from home.
