It was a day like any other, Celestia’s sun was out and warm, not a cloud in the sky, and everypony was out and about, happily doing their daily errands. Claire herself was running an errand to collect some stuff for her next jewelry based Piece. This piece will be a gift for Illusion, her Coltfriend, just to show her love for him, no special reason, just for the fun of it. The ponyville market wasn’t the best place known for metals or precious jewels, but since her mother Rarity didn’t have what she needed (Or what she technically wanted) She decided shopping would be her best next place to go.

“Good morning Mr. Smelt!” Said Claire cheerfully! Mr. Smelt was a nice pony who grew Gems and Jewels on his own, as well as a good collector of metals, and one of Claire’s favorite shops to visit. If she or no pony else she knew had something she needed, He’d usually have it. “Good morning miss Clarity, what can I get you” said the elderly colt with a slow smile. “I need a special metal, for a special gift” She says, happily putting her hooves onto the counter. Surprised, Mr. Smelt goes into the back of his shopping, coming back with a box full of precious metals. “Choose your pick” He said, pushing it slightly closer to Claire. Claire smiled wildly, dunking her head into the box as she searched. This surprised Mr. Smelt a little, but he just went with it.

Claire searched and searched, until she found it, Rhodium! “Ah-ha!” She exclaimed. Rhodium, the rarest of Precious Metals, even if it looked similar to silver, It was known to be harder to find then most precious metals. Claire was ecstatic to finally get her claws on a good piece of it. “Ah, Rhodium, one the rarest precious metals, this item of your’s you are making must be really special” Observed Mr. Smelt, and Mr. Smelt was right. It was for Illusion, after. Claire slightly blushed at thought of how much Illusion would like it. “Yes sir it is! 20 bits as usual?” Said Claire. “Yes Miss Clarity” Said Mr. Smelt. Claire payed Mr. Smelt, Waved goodbye trotting back home happily.

Clarity lived with her mother and father in her mother’s boutique, called The Carousel Boutique. She also had a brother who she lived with, and her aunt would often come by for a visit with her cousins and her uncle. Claire quietly opened the door slowly, she didn’t want the chance of messing up her mother and her possibly being in “Work mode”. “Crystal darling, is that you” Said a familiar voice. Claire winced “Yes mother… it’s me” She smiled shyly. “Your home earlier than I thought you’d be , did you find what you needed dear?” Questioned Rarity. “Yes mother, one of the rarest of precious metals in existence” Said Claire. Rarity smiled “Goody, come greet your auntie and your cousin” said Rarity turning back into her room. Claire walked in to the main area of the Boutique, seeing her Aunt Sweetie Belle modeling what looked to be another one of her mothers originals. “Uhh, nice dress Auntie” said Claire. “Thank you Clarity, it’s for my next show in manehattan” Said Sweetie Bell. “Well, it’s lovely, mom you’ve made another masterpiece” said Claire. “Oh pish posh, enough with your flattery dear, Now tell me, what is the Rhodium for?” Said Rarity, continuing to work on the dress. “Oh...uh...it’s just to make a thing for Illusion”  she said meekly. She knew how her mother is about love, and honestly didn’t want her mother to almost “smother” her for her romantic feelings toward somepony. “Illusion, you coltfriend? Oh how sweet dear!” Exclaimed Rarity “What will it be, Oh you can make a broach!” said Rarity “Mom” calmly said Claire “Ooo, or a necklace, a necklace would very nice and fashionable!” Exclaimed Rarity “Mom” Claire said again. “Or a nice Metal Corsage for him to wear with his most fashionable Tux!” Swooned Rarity. “MOTHER!” Roared Claire. She didn’t like doing that, but her mother can get lost in her fantasies. Sweetie and Pixel chucked in the background. “Oh, right dear… i’m sorry, I forgot you probably already decided what you would make…”. Rarity slouched at the ground, she didn’t like to be roared at, even when she meant no harm. Claire felt bad “No mom, it’s alright it’s just, you know i do this kinda work so, i feel no need for extra help, but you know i love your suggestions no matter what” Said Claire, rubbing her head against Rarity. “Of course darling, I just carried away in my thoughts is all, i know you still appreciate my inputs” Cooed Rarity “Now go ahead and finish that gift of yours, make it truly special my dear” Rarity smiled, kissing her daughter's forehead. Claire smiled, hugging her mother and trotting to her part of the shop.

Claire still felt back for Roaring at her mother, but deep inside she felt things would still be alright between them. Claire gathered her tools and plotted out what she was going to do, but the first task was to decide what to make. A broach would be nice, but seemed to girly for a boy. A Metal Corsage would be unique, but he would almost never get to wear it. Then she thought about it a little and decided, a necklace would be perfect! She could make it like the last ones she made for her brother and her dad, and Illusion would totally love it, heck he could wear it everyday! And the center piece...the center piece could be similar to his cutie mark, with a black Onyx gem as the center piece! Claire felt brilliant and began her work.

The next day

Claire was tired from working on the necklace most of the night. Although she wasn’t finished, she felt proud what she got done, but decided she needed a break. She left the boutique for an early morning trot ,running into Cotton Candy. “Morning Claire!” Said Cotton Ecstatically “Wanna hang with me and the others later today” She said clapping her hooves. “Me and Golden made a lot of yummy baked goods yesterday at sugar cube corner, and we can’t wait to share!” She continued to clap her hooves. “Sure, i could use some pony time” Claire replied. “YAY!” Cheered Cotton. Cotton hopped off happily, and Claire just smiled. She never understood how a pony could be that happy all the time, but when you're the daughter of Pinkie Pie, it makes perfect sense. Claire shrugged, continuing her trot.
