//-------------------------------------------------------// Rainbow Dash Reads Diaries: Rainbow Dash Reads Applejack's Diary -by Cafe Ponies- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1   Rainbow Dash knocked on the door on Applejack's barn, letting out a yawn afterwards as Applejack opened the door. She smiled at the sight of her friend.   "Howdy, Rainbow Dash. Whatcha need?" Applejack greeted her friend, stepping outside. She was sweating from all of the hard work she had done aside from harvesting apples.   "Can I stay over?" Rainbow Dash asked Applejack directly. "Oh, and hi."   Applejack looked confused at Rainbow Dash's different tone and sudden question, but she shook her head quickly and spoke again anyways.   "Well...ah don't know," Applejack said honestly, the conversation already getting awkward. She fixed her hat and smiled anxiously.   "Can't you ask Granny Smith or Big Mac? And I know Applebloom will enjoy my awesome company," Rainbow Dash said, attempting to convince the perplexed farmer.   "Ah guess so...wait here," Applejack responded slowly, agreeing with the fast flier in an uncertain tone. She returned to her barn after inviting Rainbow Dash inside and closing the door behind her.   Rainbow Dash waited downstairs quietly as Applejack ran upstairs, her hooves thundering on the stairs and the floor above, which was very loud and clear. She looked around at her current environment. Her surroundings were typical farming objects. There were hay bales, buckets, and of course, for the Apple family, apples.   Rainbow Dash's gaze quickly turned back to the stairs as Applejack galloped down the stairs once more. She gave the mare an innocent small smile as she approached Rainbow Dash.   "Well?" Rainbow Dash said.   "Granny Smith said ya'll could stay," Applejack explained, looking a little bit happy.   "Cool! I'll sleep in your room," Rainbow Dash declared as if she was the one in charge. She rushed upstairs before Applejack could even protest at all.   "...Fine," Applejack said to herself, letting out a sigh afterwards.   Rainbow Dash dropped her saddlebags on the ground. She looked around at Applejack's room, then fell back onto the orange mare's bed. She let out an enormous yawn. Applejack frowned in slight disappointment, but she could simply sleep in another room.   "Well...ah guess ah'll sleep now," Applejack said.   "Yeah, yeah," Rainbow Dash groaned, rudely rolling over on Applejack's bed, pulling the blanket too so she wrapped herself in it.   Applejack stared at Rainbow Dash for a moment, then awkwardly departed from her room. The door let out an eerie creak as the farmer slowly closed it. Rainbow Dash closed her eyes and faked her slumber as she listened closely to the sound of Applejack's hoofsteps echoing throughout the barn.   Rainbow Dash's eyes snapped open as the noise grew quiet. She sat up, her head turning rapidly so she could take in her surroundings. Rainbow Dash sped to the drawers next to the mirror in front of the bed. She opened all of them, catching a glimpse of every empty one.   Finally, after hearing many drawers being opened, which made Rainbow Dash a little bit insane, she spotted a book. She picked it up carefully as if she was handling a massive but extremely fragile diamond, or more accurately, an autograph signed by all of the Wonderbolts. Rarity would be the one carefully holding a massive and delicate gem.   A small gasp of exhilaration escaped from Rainbow Dash's mouth, her eyes wide and ecstatic. She froze as she heard a sound echo through the hall. It was just Applejack yawning. Rainbow Dash let out a quiet sigh, wiping the sweat off of her forehead and calming down. She climbed back into Applejack's bed, holding the book up preciously.   "Let's see what this has to offer!" Rainbow Dash whispered to herself as she slowly opened the book.   Rainbow Dash became suspicious for a moment. She flipped through the pages. There were much more entries than Fluttershy's diary. A smile replaced the frown on the mare's face, and she returned to the first page. She began to read the entries, an excited grin remaining on her face. Dear diary, Today, ah made a huge profit! Today was mah biggest sale yet! When ah returned ta' the barn, mah apple cart was empty. The others were so happy! Ah hope ah do better ta'morrow.   Rainbow Dash was disappointed at this short entry. A yawn abruptly escaped from her mouth. She quickly closed her mouth, trying not to wake anypony up. As she progressed to the next entry below the first one, she smiled again at the sight of a longer entry. Dear diary,
