I walked between Celestia and Luna, turned and looked at the army we managed to summon.
This was it, under the night sky, raining and dark. Most of these men are tired, bags below there eyes.
I touched my throat and said "Augendae." An old and easy spell, all of us knew it. Unless you were a Unicorn or Pegasus, you had your own type of magic. I breathed in slowly, "Why are we here?" I looked ahead as my voice grew louder till they could all hear me. I chucked at that...
"Listen...I'm not here to lie to you, we all know where going to lose." Alot of movement was heard, rustling of gold plates on gold and swords hitting armour. "And you're all frightened aren't you?" I saw a few nods. "Well let me tell you something, I'm scared to, I don't want to die, neither do you, but now is not the time to be afraid!" I yelled at them, most of the ones close to me flinching a bit from the spell I cast. "Now, I am going to tell you to this one thing, collect that fear." I had said this hundreds of times, but not when it was a suicide mission, not like this...
"This is what were going to do, you're ALL gonna turn that fear into strength!"
"I know you have families, I know you have kids you care about, I know this, but if you do not try now well guess what is going to happen!?" I scanned the crowd, no one. Typical.
"Fine, you might as well forget your families then, because what were going to do here today, my friends..." I was beginning to see things now, I could always see the future, "My brothers, This will change what happens to this nation, I don't care if we're fighting a trillion, no, an unbeatable force I want to see you try, I don't care if your body says stop, I don't care if you lose an arm, you will keep fighting and you know why!?" I yelled, I could see some peoples reactions close to me, scared...
"Because guess what, that moment you stop fighting, you may as well have given up on your families, your sons and daughters, your wives, your goddamn Goddesses who sit beside me right now!" I looked to either side, Luna and Celestia were still there.
"Now if you want to walk out, do it now, I'm not going to stop you, no-one here is going to stop you..." I scanned around and sat there for a full minute, no-one moved, no-one made a noise except for the rain, hitting the armour and hair of those around me.
"Good, now..." I looked to the Princesses, they were both crying, they knew the odds, 0 to 10, we had no-chance.
"Ready your weapons, because tonight we fight for our families, our rights, our freedoms!" A giant roar ripped through this crowd, it scared me to be honest, but a million men with nothing to lose made it even worse.
My father always said that now that I think about it...
"The most dangerous force is a man with nothing to lose"
Lets see how true that is, "Now..."
I nudged both Princesses, motioning for them to leave while I could see the enemy force coming over the horizon.
I breathed in deeply for a second time while quickly checking if they were , "To Valhalla!"
I yelled, not the best word for it but good enough because behind me was a million men, running, waiting to fight.
This was it, this was the last battle...
This was the moment when the rain picked up now, falling heavily against the ground and us but that wouldn't stop us.
"Just like out of a movie..." I whispered to myself spotting the wall of shields coming straight for us.
I brought up my sword and roared...
If I fall...
On this rainy day...
Then Odin ready for me...
As I'll be waiting at your gates...
I whispered in my mind as I ran forwards and my sword clanged against a shield, spun around and stabbed my opponent in his back.
A sword in one...
A shield in the other...
I'll fight tonight...
Till my last drop of blood...
Running forward and shoving my sword through another ones jaw.
Because if I die...
On this rainy day...
Then to Valhalla...
My soul shall march...
I blocked an enemy sword, he had no shield but christ that hurt, I rammed my sword forwards and brought it up, ripping it through the middle of his ribcage.
If I fall...
On this rainy day...
Then Odin ready for me...
As I'll be waiting at your gates...
Day 3
I swung my sword at another opponent, I had cuts and bruises all over me, tired to boot, I think all of us were.
But nothing would stop us, we were winning, sure we lost some. Ok a lot but that didn't mean we would stop.
I looked to my right quickly, I saw purple armour. Shining...
He was missing an arm, bleeding profusely but he was still fighting, sure his sword was sluggish but he was still going.
"Now thats a warrior" I said to myself, until that blade emerged from his chest, red and silver it was but that tough bastard. Shining span round and lobbed off the head of the Gryphon that had stabbed him. Did he ever give up. No, never will he, never.
I charged forwards again, holding my sword to the side killing multiple Gryphons and whatever else stood in front of my sword.
The rest is a blur, but as far as I remember we were entering day 4.
4 days of constant fighting, damn.
I stepped forwards and ducked to avoid a sword, I felt the air above me touch my scalp, so close.
Launching myself back up and cut him in half and spun to kill another circle of them approaching me, pain sprung from my ribs as a small, deep cut was left on me.
Just as soon as they fell more came to replace them. I looked around quickly, chuckled as beckoned with my finger for them to come at me. I saw them all run at me. Now or never Adrik, now or never...
