Chapter 15: Rage

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

"Just Look at his curved horn!"

"Those sharp teeth!"

"Abomination!"

"Monster!"

"Bash the thing's brains out!"

Sparrow charged forward, memories of the bullies from. . . .someplace coming back to him. All the other foals, pointing, laughing, threatening, it never stopped. Not even the teacher stepped in. He saw a unicorn filly with a golden coat standing in front of Sweetie Belle, taunting her. Why now? Why here?. . .

Everypony watched as Sparrow charged straight through the fence, into the playground. Silver Spoon was the first to go, getting batted away into a piece of playground equipment. Diamond Tiara had only started to turn around before Sparrow scooped her up in his mouth, and bit down hard. There was a loud crunching noise as Sparrow tossed Diamond Tiara to the ground. He raised his hoof to deal the death blow, but something stopped him. Sparrow turned to see light blue magic gripping the forehoof he raised for the killing blow. Then he heard a familiar voice "Yare yare daze. . . .if I had known this was going to happen I would have hit her myself. And now I'm stuck dealing with you" Sparrow traced the voice to the rooftop of the school.

Diamond Mind immediately clapped his forehooves together, then sharply inhaled. Lightning danced across his forehooves as he pulled them apart to reveal a strange, soapy substance between them. He did a leaping cartwheel off the roof of the school and landed behind Sparrow. The lightning moved from his forehooves into the soapy substance, then he did a throwing motion, causing the soapy substance to split into individual bubbles that surrounded Sparrow. "Don't try anything, or you'll get hurt. Neither of us want that"

Sapphirus saw what was about to happen, threw his overcoat into the air and began running towards the schoolyard.

Sparrow stabbed one of the bubbles with his horn, the bubble popped and electrocuted him. He let out a roar of pain. Diamond heard the roar and began turn towards Sparrow "I told you, you'd get hurt if you-" Diamond suddenly heard the sound of an oncoming freight train and saw Sparrow charging right at him. Ponyfeathers! How could I have miscalculated? Is he immune to electricity? Diamond attempted to dodge the incoming hit, and almost made it, but he was just barely grazed by Sparrow's incoming forehoof. It was enough to send Diamond careening backwards into a section of fence. He was able to stay conscious long enough to see somepony jump in front of Sparrow, then he blacked out.

Sapphirus landed right in front of Sparrow. At this point, a crowd was gathering around from the commotion, and during the conflict somepony was able to rescue Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon. Sapphirus didn't care. He would make their respective parents pay for his son's hospital bill, heck, maybe even Sparrow's. But his son's life was on the line, neither of those other ponies mattered. Sapphirus let out a roar as he channeled magic throughout his body, causing the rest of his clothes to shred like paper. He needed to stop Sparrow. He swung with a chop to the left side of the jaw first "ATA!" then two direct hits to the sternum "ATATA-" a hit to the throat "-ATATATA-" a good few hits to the gut for good measure "-ATATATATATATATATATA-" a hit to the right side of the jaw "-ATA-" and for the finale, a good old fashioned uppercut "ATAH!" Sparrow didn't seem moved by those attacks, so Sapphirus decided to repeat the attack pattern again on Sparrow. All the crowd heard was Sapphirus's high pitched battlecry and Sparrow's grunts of pain. The action was too fast for the audiance to keep up with, Sapphirus's forehooves were a blur that kept hitting Sparrow. "ATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATA! AHTAH!" and like that, Sparrow was out from the last uppercut. . . .

Author's Note

Sorry for the drop in word count, I'll get right on it.
This needed to BE DONE AND OFF THE TABLE. Sorry again.
I partied hard the entire weekend, I barely had enough time to work on this bit by bit.

Constructive criticism would be nice to have on this chapter.
Are the fight scenes overdone? Is anything remotely negative?
Cause 6 down-votes says something is and I'd like to know why.
