Her Identityby TheFabulousPersonChaptersLittle MemoriesAwake and ForgottenMy NameLittle Memories“No!” A mare screamed. With the little energy she had, the pony strained to keep out of reach of the things behind her. What little hope the mare had sank when a wall came closer as she ran. To the ponies behind her, a colt and a young mare, this game was becoming boring and overused. The colt’s hooves pounded behind her and came closer with each step. The mare walked behind the stallion, seeming to keep up with him. “No, no no no no no no no…” the pursued mare mumbled to herself. Reaching the blank wall, her hooves fell underneath her. “Help, please!” she yelled to no one. Where was she? Every wall was white, but very badly lit. When did she get into this labyrinth? When… Her captors slowed, knowing the game was over. She even saw one smirk, the other mare. “I have magic, use it!” she whispered, looking around herself. Unfortunately, nothing was there for her to use. Her own magic was useless for these situations; it was only for her own work in gardening, not fighting! Then she saw… the mare’s coat slipped slightly, revealing her horn. The other mare had a horn, and could surely use it to attack her. Finally catching up, the stallion… sat. He knew the mare would finish the job. And she would. Both of the mares were unicorns, and pursuing one kept walking, using her magic to even reveal her face. Smiling, the only unique feature was her eyes. She only had one. The other was bandaged crudely, like a work of hooves had wrapped it, instead of a horn. Then she noticed… the smiling mare was younger than her. Older than a filly, younger than a mare. The humiliation washed over her immediately. Overcome by a little thing of that size? But that feeling was quickly overwhelmed by her surprise. The little pony lifted her with magic, then, forming some sort of magic ball, she… knocked her out. “White Chamomile…” The stallion spoke, watching the limp pony floating in the magic his companion had made. “Yes. That is her name. I wonder what her new name will be, once we bring her to the leaders…” his companion replied. “Let’s go. Next step, here goes…” both walking away, the floating magic ball followed with the unicorn. White Chamomile was still, dreaming of a memory. _-*-__-*-__-*-_ “Cousin!” I yelled towards a purple-maned pony. Turning around, she smiled. “Wha- Oh, Darling! How long has it been?” I caught up to the mare and slowed to a trot next to her. “Rarity, years! Hows Sweetie Belle?” Turning her head to look forward, she led me to the boutique. “She’s been doing the same as always. Attempting every miniscule thing that has even a bit of value for her cutiemark! Honestly, she should really do what she wants!” “I can tell in those letters you send me. But that’s what fillies do! I remember when you always spiced up your dresses so much you couldn’t even wear them!” I giggled. She looked at me with one of her mischievous faces. “Well dear, I remember when you tried to buy all the flower seeds in the store! You left him almost rich, White Chamomile!” she looked up at me. “You’ve grown taller, now that I see it. Even taller than me, Dear!” “I know! I dunno why; must be a weird growth spurt, huh?” I looked at my hooves. “It must be! Or is it magic, hm?” she chuckled. “Heh. So hows it been in Ponyville?” I spoke calmly as we walked through the door. “Simply fabulous, darling.” _-*-__-*-__-*-_ “Gah!” White Chamomile breathed, suddenly awake. She was in a room. It was dark, and silent. She waited for her eyes to adjust to see around the room. There was a door. The room was small, but not enough for claustrophobia. Then, a clicking sound. It was from the door. Whipping her head around to stare at it, she stood defensively. It opened. They turned the lights on, showing no difference in the shape or number of items in the room. It was the little mare. Her horn glowing, she brought an item with her. It was a necklace. The string was golden, and one stone sat in the middle of it. It was purple, with a swirling pattern within it. To be frank, it was wonderful to look at. “Put this on.” The unicorn said plainly. It was a high-pitched and solemn voice. The young mare laid it in front of her with her magic, her gaze watching each of the other’s movements. The little pony said nothing more. The little pony had no cloak on now. She could now confirm that she was younger than her. She had long hair that fell to her shoulders, her bangs parted at her forehead. Her hair was a brown-orange color. The mare stared at it. Should she put it on? She could resist, but that wouldn’t end well, now would it? Either way, she knew it would end with her putting it on. Closing her eyes, she picked up the item with her magic. She thought. About all the disappearances. At least a hundred ponies were taken somewhere and became one of them. Everyday. Would her family be okay after this? Her family. She remembered. She was an only child, but her cousins were like siblings to her. They loved her; she loved them. She thought of before this event. When everything seemed to be perfect… What would this necklace do to her? She would find out. Maybe painfully, maybe she won’t remember it, but she would find out the outcome. As White Chamomile felt the cold of the gold string touch the back of her neck, her mind began to fade. Looking down at the stone, the swirls in the pattern seemed to move. Was it her imagination? She prepared herself for the pain that would end her life. However, not even that came. Author's Note Hooray! Anyway, thanks for reading! Also, please see my brother's fanfic, Adventures of mane7! Awake and ForgottenI was stuck. I was scared. I was trapped. "Where am I?" I frantically asked. I was in a room. It was dark. There were many ponies in front of me, laughing. They seemed to move toward me, but not like normal ponies. They moved like shadows, as if controlled. "Please, stop!" I screamed. There was another pony, like me, trapped near a wall. We locked eyes, finding little comfort in each other's brief company. They came closer, I shrunk towards the wall. I couldn't see the other pony. However, a scream ripped through the crooked laughter, making the shadow ponies pause for a moment. They then continued to laugh in an increased volume. One, whom had glowing eyes, raised a hoof towards me. "Help!" _-*-__-*-__-*-_ "Mn..." A mare grumbled. Where was she? All she remembered was... nothing. She was in a soft bed, it looked quite expensive. The room was adorned with a vanity and a cabinet, but otherwise bare. There was a small window. Getting up groggily, she cautiously put her hooves in front of each other. She felt like something important happened, feeling as though forgetting it was a grave mistake. Finally reaching the window with her unsteady hooves, she opened the window with one of them. There was a town. It seemed simple, but important as well. Was she in an inn? Looking for some sign, the hanging block of wood answered her question. She was. There was a large tree that seemed to be a residence, and a circular town hall near it. Where was she? It was Ponyville. From the look of it, she was on the second floor of the building. It was sunny, winged ponies up in the sky. What were they called? She couldn't remember; not even the horned ones rung any bells. Why did she feel like everything was gone? However, if she truly forgot, why did she know the town's name? Shrugging it off, she turned around to look at the vanity. The mirror framed her face to show she was a horned pony too. What do horns do? Focusing on her face, she saw how alien her features were. Sure, she didn't remember anything before... whatever, but she felt this complexion was at least a little off. There was a dark strain of hair in front of her ears, going down to her short curled hair. The tips were darkened to match the black lock of her mane. She had snow white fur that framed her dark red eyes. Turning to the side, she saw her tailstyle was the same way. However, her cutiemark... It deviated from her other features, almost as if purposely made to seem evil. It was a flower, the center a sickly yellow. surrounded by it were the dark purple petals. However, the striking feature of it was the strange vine-like patterns coming from the cutiemark. Taking a closer look, the pattern seemed to almost throb rhythmically. Her entire uppermost hind legs were almost covered with the pseudo-vines. "Oi, Trev! I hear a bit of stirring! You think shes awake?" a female voice said through the door. "I'm going anyway, better come with me!" footsteps began, coming closer to the door. The door opened. the light from the window lit the pony coming in and the other one. "Hey, newbie! How're you?" the ponies came in. It was a young mare and a stallion. They both had coats, but the little pony had her hood down. The mare had a horn too, But the stallion seemed... mysterious. "Um..." was all she could say. "Oh, Just here to examine you before you get registered. Don't worry; we'll take of ya." The mare smiled, getting out a bag from the cabinet with... magic! "Uh, hey. How'd you do that? The magic-thingy?" the amnesiac asked blatantly. "What? Are yo- ...Oh, Forgot that too, eh? That amnesic must've been strong. Don't ever trust Pitch..." She murmured to herself, opening the bag and extracting an item from it. She suddenly perked up. "Oh! Yeah, I'll teach you sometime, okay? Should be easy for ya." Her answer gained, another popped into her head. "Hey, what am I being registered for? Am I a member of something or another?" "Sure, mostly. You are gonna have a brand new job! And, before you ask, forgetting's normal. I forgot too when they registered me!" taking out a pencil, she began taking notes on the other mare. "Wha- Normal! Normal? How is that normal?" surprised, she backed up a bit. "Don't get your mane in a twist, newbie! They say we had bad lives, so they took us in. Now sit!" still taking notes, she motioned the movement with her hoof. Sitting down, she looked at the stallion. "Who're they? Is he 'they'?" "No, 'they' are our bosses. They'll be yours, too. The W.E.L.L. leaders. But that's Trevor. He's my partner in crime. He's actually really, really boring." putting away her notes, she motioned for the others to get up. The stallion nodded at his mention, but said no word of greeting. Instead, he pulled out a coat from the cabinet and gestured for her to put it on. _-*-__-*-__-*-_ Passing by a pair of two grumbling red and white maned ponies, our characters walked calmly. "Where are we going?" the older mare said. "To headquarters. You're gonna have a name given to you by them." the younger answered, leading them to a coach. They had come out of the building to catch a ride, but they had been slow with them carrying around a questioning amnesiac with them. "Hey, what's your name? You never told me." "Moral. Now stop asking questions, or I'll kick you." paying the coach, they walked inside. It was small, as expected, and two seats faced each other. Moral and the other mare sat next to each other, while Trevor took the opposite seat. "So, where again?" the coach asked behind him as he closed the door. "Appaloosa, please." Moral politely murmured, enough for him to hear. The coach got onto the seat in front of the carriage, and they were off. Author's Note Heh. Can you guess who those 'red and white maned ponies' are?(Hint: this fanfic takes place after season 4) I might have a surprise if you get it! Anyway, comment if you wouldn't mind! Also, my brother plans on reviving 'Adventures of mane7' so please look forward to it! Also, planning to have at least a chapter every week, so stay tuned! My NameThere weren't any questions, really. On the carriage to Appaloosa, there was a silence. Moral looked out a window, with Trevor keeping an eye on them both. The unnamed mare was napping. "Oh, hey, newbie!" Moral perked up. "Ah- mn, what?" she woke up after Moral shook her a bit. "We should give you a temporary name. I mean, calling you newbie is fun and all, but what about Trevor? He's too nice to call you by that name." Moral smiled. The stallion snorted. "Um, okay. If it'll pass time, fine." she stared at the other, younger mare. "How about... hey, Trevor, what about it?" she stared at him, the older mare's eyes following. "...Caramel." that was his only answer. "Ooh, the great and mysterious Trevor rises for anonymousness!" Moral cooed, giggling. "I bet that was a first to hear his voice, eh?" "I... guess it is, right? Is he always this quiet?" the now named Caramel asked. Trevor eyed them both under his hood. "I'm right here. Even if you got amnesia, I thought you wouldn't forget your manners at least." "Er, s-sorry, Trevor. I guess amnesia does that, huh?" Caramel tried to smile. She knew he was joking, but to be on the safe side... Moral silently smiled. Over all these years with Trevor, the thing she knew most about was his coldness to strangers. However, Trevor seemed to have changed a bit. Sure, he was still wearing that hood, but he was definitely more open. Perhaps it was Caramel's 'simple' feeling from her, or something else. Then, the carriage stopped. "Oi! We're here!" Yelled the carriagepony. As on cue, Moral, Trevor, and Caramel went out of the door, Trevor paying the pony. Afterwards, they trotted down from the station, and into Appaloosa. It was a dusty and busy town that was expected in a canyon area like this. However, the group had gone through Appaloosa, following a gravel road. "Hey," Caramel started. "What do I do when we get there?" "Oh, not much. They already know what to name you." Moral said, trotting up to a small cottage. "All you gotta do is walk on in!" she said before shoving a reluctant Caramel in through the door. Moral closed the door behind them, and trotted to the middle of the place. Inside was a regular-looking living room, that seemed to be fitting for the little cottage."Pitch? I know your-" she yelled. However, she couldn't finish. By a loud tumble, and with a loud crash, came a zebra with thick hooves that ran and jumped onto Moral. After the puffs of dust cleared, Caramel and Trevor were left to witness a very awkward scene. (Giggles) "Get off of me, Pitch!" Moral almost screamed, trying to rip the zebra off of her. Noticing what had happened, the zebra blushed a bit before, as quickly as they got there, getting off her."Well, I really ams sorry, Coral! I- Whoses That!?" the zebra, Pitch, ran to Caramel. So quickly, in fact, Caramel could have swore she went faster than sound. "Aren'tchathatponythat-" Trevor put a hoof to Pitch's mouth, sighing in the process. "Don't. Please." Pitch took a surprised glance toward him before nodding vigorously. "Mm hm!" Trevor lifted his hoof. Moral got up and trotted up to them. "Lets hope we can live through this, Newbie. Anyway, This is Pitch, a zebra. Have you seen one before?" She asked before looking about the room. Caramel tore her eyes away from Pitch and to Moral. "No, not that I really remember anything anyway." Trevor broke into the conversation. "Well, Pitch? We got the new person, so we're ready." Pitch smiled, and to answer his statement, she went toward a seemingly simple flower pot and tipped it. The table then began to- no, the ground underneath it rumbled and groaned until it revealed a squished spiral staircase that lead down. From what Caramel could tell, it seemed to go down quite deep. "Down 'ere will lead ya down. Don't trip, though!" the Zebra smiled overexcitedly. Everypony else took their own smile, and started to ascend the cramped stairs, trying to avoid the bugs that crawled from the dirt walls. _-*-__-*-__-*-_ After what seemed an endless amount of dirty, broken steps, the little cracks ceased to exist on the rest of the stairs. They began to gain a shiny hue, While being made with a dark blue stone that were simply dazzling. Then, came a small, square room made with the same stone as the steps. "Hello." A deep, calm voice rang out. Trevor and Moral smiled, then bowed their heads. "Hello." They both repeated. "This is the child?" the voice questioned. "Yes." "Then let us begin." Moral and Trevor both took a few steps back, leaving Caramel to stare at the dark blue stone. "Child." began the voice. "I shall be clear. You are destined for many things, great things. That gem-" Caramel looked to the stone on her necklace. "Is important. Never let it slip from your neck. It shall help you from the dangers you, and your friends, may face. Whatever you witness, I wish you safety." The voice took a breath. "However, We are here for your name, Aren't we? Before we do, however, I must ask you something." the voice seemed kind, but had a small note of sternness in the last sentence. Moral nodded cautiously. "What, I ask, does that pendant do?" It was a simple question. Caramel faltered. What does she do? Does she lie? No, that wouldn't be right. She knew something would wind up happening if she lied. "I... don't know." The voice took to a small chuckle. "Ah, That was quite the right answer." His name took to a serious tone again. "Now, your name..." "Shall be Aria." Caramel quieted. staring down onto the stone, she thought of how the name sounded, and finally spoke the words she wanted to speak. "May I have a different name?" Moral and Trevor almost visibly jumped back. What had she just said? "I... you see, the name Aria is nice and all, but, the name my friends gave me..." she looked up, staring to the darkness, all traces of fear gone from her face. "Was Caramel. I wish to keep the name my friends gave me." The voice was silent for a moment. Moral a Trevor, not knowing what to think, stood quite solid on the shiny, dark blue stone. Then, came a happy, hearty laugh. It lasted not very long, but for enough time for Moral and Trevor to change their features from fear to confusion. "Oh, child. Caramel, was it? Keep your wonderful name! It suits you quite well!" he chuckled. "Your an interesting one, Caramel. Keep your wits about you, For I fear your troubles shall be far greater than I can imagine. Go, to Canterlot and seek the Stealer for your future!" The voice, now silent, secretly smiled, both in proud sadness and pained happiness. Caramel smiled, at the dark, invisible ceiling. She turned to Moral and Trevor, and said, "Well? Let's go! Canter-whatsits, I believe?" She chuckled. Author's Note Please review, and thanks for reading! So, so sorry for the LONG wait! I had a motivation dip that was only stopped by the ending of the fourth season! Anyway, I have honed my skills as a drawer of ponies, and you shall see a new cover soon! how soon? I don't know, a month if I remember? Also, I have a challenge: have you found any typos in my story so far? If you have, please tell me in the comments! Whoever can point out the most will get a drawing of their choice! Only ponies or humans! (I can do humans, not as well as ponies, though) I will post the picture on my blog here.
