I am Winter Wing. I grew up in an orphanage, always wanting a home. I had come close many times, but I always had to be the one filly that couldn't be normal. I got chosen and ended up not getting a home for a long time. Why? Because of who I was.

A Changeling's Story

Prologue

Before I begin this story, I will add to it that I am the main character, even though it says a changeling.

I don't really remember the beginning.

It was all... green and sweet tasting stuff that I really don't remember. But I remember the day i was taken. I didn't know I was being taken. I thought I was going somewhere.

Nope.

Later I was told that in the face of danger I had turned into this form to stop myself from being killed.

I was very smart back then. Now, all I'm told is that I'm stupid and can't do anything right.

I don't understand why.

At the orphanage, I was the one who got blamed for everything. If something happened across the room down the hall and two buildings away from where I was at, I would be blamed for it. Then I always got corner time for telling them it wasn't me. Basically, my room was the cage they put bad fillies in. And nopony else EVER got time in there. Nopony. So I decided to live my life as ponies portrayed it: completely reckless, rude, and downright disrespectful to my elders. That's one reason why I never got adopted. Another is because I was always in the cage. But enough about this, let's get on with the story.
