Warrior (Pt. 1)View OnlineShort Stories and Tales.Warrior (Pt. 1) Chrysalis looked upon the strange creature that had barged into her glorious speech at the most crucial moment, her gaze went over the biped’s features.”It’s much bigger than what my spies told me,” she tought “and… stranger.” The human, as she had learned to be the name of it’s species, stared at her with a look of amusement and irritation, it’s heavy steps echoing in the throne room. The giant slowly made his way to her, and in a deep voice it bellowed,"Release them, and maybe Ah’ll leave ya to their own judges.” “And what makes you say that so?” she asked, watching as it came closer to her. “Nuthing, all Ah’m saying is that if you don’t do what Ah’m telling ya Ah’m gonna go there and punch ya until you’re bug-paste in the ground.” He smirked, and crossed his arms, “All Ah say is release’em and you ain’t turning out like the other bugs” Chrysalis shook her head slowly “who does he think he is” .With a mighty jump, the changeling queen took to the air,her wings buzzing and horn glowing with weeks worth of power.”You shall learn not to mess with those stronger than you, human, beg now and maybe your death shall be swift.” He shook his head, a sad smile crossing his features, and before Chrysalis had any time to prepare herself fully, the human bolted, covering almost the entire length between them in no time.He jumped, and dodging to the her side she released a bolt of pure magic energy directly into his back. The impact took off his balance, but with a roll he managed to get up in no time.He turned to her again and bolted, what she didn’t expect however was for it to feign a jump, and jump when she was not prepared. She was caught in the human’s grip, and both went to the ground, the human crashing on top of her, and as it tried to get a better grasp on her, she blasted it off with another bolt. “He should be dead by now! I’ve hit him two times in quick succession with my strongest attack!”she got up again, huffing as a small amount of pain made itself known on her wings “great, he almost ripped them both with one attack, just how much strong is this thing?” Her musings were cut short when the human came running full speed towards her, and before he could hit her she dodged right. The human passed her,but to her surprise, and subsequent pain, it did a full spin, and with a yell it brought his fists on her barrell. She went sailing through the room, crashing into a wall, before she could fully recover she felt his grip on her neck, and in a swift motion she was spun around and thrown into the ground, a resounding crack filling the room. Things seemed to settle down, “ does he think that he has ended me?” she waited for a while, and for her amusement she was neither tackled or hit in any way.Using the element of surprise she shot upwards again, her wings in pain as they buzzed to keep her flying. “Thought Ah had killed ya,with the crack and thing” the human said, looking at her with a amused expression, “at least ya’re a tough bug to take down eh,would be a shame if ya went limp with just that.” Taking the opportunity, Chrysalis charged her horn with as much energy as possible, and discharged at her enemy in a green, fire like beam of pure magic power “let’s see you survive that, freak!” She could only watch in horror as the bolt impacted the creature,it simply stumbled backwards, and looked at itself with an amused expression, “Eh, that’s gonna leave a mark,” he laughed, a deep bass like tone that reverberated in the dead silent room, “come on ya bug, shoot me again, Ah dare ya!” Chrysalis took the opportunity, discharging bolt after bolt of energy, each one having less control and power than the last, finally she stopped, taking ragged breaths. The human was pretty battered, but it didn’t show any signs of stopping there. “Alright,my turn.” The human ran at her, and she felt his fist connect with her barrell, sending her upwards and backwards, falling on the ground she had no time to get up as she felt it grabbing her again, only to be spun around and thrown into it again. She only felt numbness at the resounding crack, crack, crack of the humans fist connecting to her hard carapace, she was too tired, too battered and too annoyed to care about anything. Her world swirled, everything was pain, everything was white, and slowly, she could only feel her ragged breaths through the numbness. The last thing she heard before going unconscious was a beeping sound.
Warrior (Pt. 2)View OnlineShort Stories and Tales.Warrior (Pt. 2) Numb, that was all that Chrysalis could feel when she slowly woke up, numb, tired and drained from her magic.Slowly her senses came to her, and a beeping sound was the first thing she heard. She opened her eyes and took notice of where she was lying. White walls greeted her sight, closed curtains maintained the room dimly lit, but it didn’t stop her eyes on falling on a specific figure.Sitting, with his attention on a large book, was the source of her pain. The human looked big, much bigger than she remembered on the throne room, it was fully clad in clothing, the reason for that she could not understand why, and it’s dark brown mane contrasting with it’s pale skin was the only other characteristic she could point out from him. As if sensing that he was being watched, the human closed his book and stood up, cracking a few joints while he stretched. He turned to her, and spoke while walking, “Good morning, how’re ya holding up?” “W-whuh?” Chrysalis mumbled, her tiredness slipping away as the human came closer. “What, expected to be in a dungeon or sumthing? heh, ya’re in a hospital missy, private room no less, it’s just me an’ ya here.” he said, extending his arms sideways. She looked at him, wary, and slowly she begun to take stock of her surroundings again, a few cables were sticking into her left foreleg, connecting to both a monitor that kept beeping in synchrony with her heart and a transparent IV bag.A tray was placed on a nightstand at the side of the bed, holding a bowl with water and another with what she supposed to be some sort of warm beverage.Other than that, the entire place looked like a common hospital room. Turning to him, she decided it was best to start questioning him now rather than later, “Why is it, that i’m here and not in a dungeon cell? is there anything that you’re planning on doing with me, human?” “Ah, where are my manners,” he chuckled, “name’s Varch, and there’s nuthing Ah want to do to you, you’re here to recover, before facing your trial.” “Trial?” “Hmph, then they’re healing me before an execution? what a waste of resources.” “They ain’t gonna kill ya, for as long as ah’ve been here ah’ve never seen they kill anything, not even that bastard Discord, and Ah thought they were going to do something fierce to him, they only stoned that thing.” he spat out the sentence, as if holding it in his mouth would poison him, “they’re a bunch of pacifists, not what Ah would call the best on my line of work but that’s their business, Ah’m only here to serve them anyway.” he leaned on the wall, and crossed his arms, “not that Ah would kill ya, anything that survives me and heals fine in just a day is worthy of appreciation” he laughed, and shaking his head he continued, “ya should eat that soup too, pretty good for just plant and water.” Chrysalis eyed the soup,"so that's what it is," and using her magic she levitated the bowl to her, on top of the trail was a spoon that she hadn’t noticed before, and taking it she used to mix it, steam billowing from it while she did so, and so she decided to taste it.Her taste buds met with a salty, warm liquid that had a hint of tastes she had never felt. “What’s on this?” she decided to ask Varch, who only raised an eyebrow at her question. “Ehh, onions, barley, broth, carrots, for all i know there’s at least a dozen stuffs in it, why?” She looked at it again, happy that she had only taken a sip of it instead of a mouthfull, “Changelings can’t eat anything solid, we feed both on ‘emotions’ and fluids, such as nectars.” she looked at him, and for her surprise he was grinning. “So ya’re more bug than Ah’ve tought. Good to know, so Ah suppose ya’re not going to eat all that?” he asked, Chrysalis shook her head, and levitated the bowl and spoon back to the tray. "And the other one?” she asked him. “That’s only water.” he answered. She levitated the water bowl to her lips, and after a few testing sips she took the entire thing in few loud gulps, satisfied with the room temperature liquid she put the bowl back on the tray again. “So, nectars huh? stuff like juice and honey would do okay too?” Varch asked, going around the bed and collecting the tray with his hands. “Yes, why do you ask?” her only answer was a grin, and without further response he took the tray and exited the room, leaving her slightly confused. “I could leave,” she tought “but it would be too easy if that’s just that, there could be guards stationed around, the curtains are closed, but it’s obvious that it is day time, I may be lucky that I’m alive, and if i press it i may not be so lucky next time.” she concentrated on what was left of her magic, only to be disappointed “there’s not even enough for me to keep a disguise for long, my reserves must have drained trying to heal me.” She sighed, the chances of her successfully escaping were dim, the consequences of being caught again astronomically high for such low odds. She took a few long breaths, and deciding to wait she laid back fully on the soft mattress, her eyes fluttering close as tiredness crept back up to her, before she went to sleep however a few words echoed on her mind. “Anything that survives me is worthy of appreciation.”
Warrior (Pt. 3)View OnlineShort Stories and Tales.Warrior (Pt. 3) Varch had expected his trip to the Royal Kitchens to be a average one, a few greetings of the servants and guards and maybe some explaining to the Chef about his sudden need of all things sweet and liquid. He had not, in fact, expected a certain group of six mares to notice him, and he had hoped, against all odds, that he could pass them without stopping. He had no such luck “Where were you?” exclaimed a very angry Twilight Sparkle, he had left his room in the medical wing as soon as he could, and maybe he had forgotten to tell anyone about that. “We were worried about you, you weren’t at the medical wing, nor in your own room.” “It’s nice to see ya too, Purple,” he got to his knees and extended his arms as everyone converged on a group hug “and Ah’m sure Ah’ve said that Ah hate staying in those rooms, them doctors, they give me the creeps.” Better now than never “And Ah was with our guest there, she woke up just now.” His statement was first met with confusion, and then a look of shock and disgust spread through the face of most of the ponies, the first one to recover was Rarity, “Darling, I can not believe you were with such a deplorable… thing,” she took a quick look at his eyes, her horn glowing slightly, “but you don’t look like you’ve been affected by her.” After the incident, most Unicorn guards were taught a simple spell, one that could notice if one’s mind was affected superficially in any way.Unsurprisingly both Rarity and Twilight had learnd it too. “She wouldn’t be able to control him, but I still can’t understand why you were there.” Twilight spoke. He simply chuckled, and started walking again. “Ya’ll say like it’s the end of the world or sumthing, Ah went there to check her, see how she was holding. To my surprise she didn’t take long to wake up,”he turned a corridor, the open doors of the Royal Kitchen coming into view, “and Ah need to get sumthing for her to eat,not like i’m gonna let she starve or anything.” The rest of the trip and subsequent acquisition of food was spent in small chat, questions such as how everyone was doing after that horrible day and such being the main topics. The ponies seemed to stray away from the fight in the Throne Room, something that Varch wasn’t surprised. Some of them had seen him fight before, small training skirmishes with the guards, mostly to train himself against equine opponents, but nothing was akin to the brutality and efficiency he had displayed on the day prior. “Princess Celestia will want to talk with you, and to her too, she asked us to attend to her afternoon tea, and I would like to extend that invitation to you too.” Twilight was the one to break his musings, they had spent some time in the Kitchens, courtesy of Pinkie and a impromptu cupcake baking spree, “I’m not sure if the same would apply to… Chrysalis, but I don’t think bringing her would be good.” “Ah don’t like tea, so tell her to get me some coffee and Ah’ll be there, but for now Ah think Ah need to go feed our guest.” Varch said, holding onto a tray with a spread of what he hoped that the Changeling Queen could eat, and a few assorted cupcakes,”and Ah don’t think she would like to go anyway, not even if we were to force her.” Twilight nodded, and with a last hug and farewell he and the group departed. The way back to Chrysalis room was silent, and he spent the time thinking on what Celestia would want to hear from him.But the Sun Princess wasn’t his main concern, what he was truly afraid of was a certain Night Alicorn. Chrysalis was annoyed. She hadn’t been able to get even a few minutes of rest before the door burst open and a stallion unicorn doctor entered, blabbing about something or other.Either he was dumb or forgot that she could hear, because as soon as he had looked upon the Queen he had the displeasure of seeing a very annoyed scowl. After a hasty introduction, the doctor, named Mercury, started asking her anything ranging from nutrition to body structure, as if she knew everything about her species. Not only that but she had noticed something that got her on edge. She couldn’t sense any emotions from the stallion, everytime she tried to scan him, her spell would rebound as if hitting a rubber shield, most likely a preventive measure against her.She was about to not so politely ask him to leave when the door burst open, and that human, Varch, entered the room. “Sir, if you would please leave our patie-” “Eh.” “Sir, please, i was assigned to-” “EH.” She could only watch as Mercury got more and more aggravated by the antics of the man, his sentences would be cut short by the human every time.It took a few minutes, but finally the doctor left, irate, and muttering something about insufferable humans and dumb assignments.Chrysalis mantained a neutral impression, but she was quite relieved from needing to spend more time with the annoying medic. She noticed,as the human began approaching her, that he was carrying a tray not unlike the one he had left with, on top of the silvery surface were various glass cups, each holding different colored liquids, and a ceramic mug with steam coming out from it.She eyed it as he laid down the tray on the nightstand, and afterwards sat on the edge of the bed. “Howd’ya doing?” The first thing that she noticed was that the room was suddenly more lively, the human wasn’t protected by the same shield the doctor was using, and the difference was perceptible.A Changeling can passively measure, if a bit imprecise, the emotions and feelings of those around themselves, and when they can’t do it, it tends to trip many alarms and flags. It’s either the Changeling losing their powers, or the being not having emotions. “Ya gonna keep staring at me or what?” he asked, a small grin etched in his face, “ya look like you just saw a ghost or something, staring into the nothing.” She shook her head, thoughts like those weren’t the best to have at that moment, and showing any type of weakness may put her on a disadvantage.”It’s nothing, it’s just that I wasn’t expecting you to come back soon.” Varch laughed, and pointed at the tray, “Ah brought those to ya, first things first, do ya drink coffee?” Chrysalis looked at the tray, the ceramic mug contained the dark liquid that she knew fairly well, she wasn’t a fan of it, but apparently that pink Princess was, and she had to drink it every morning, for the sake of keeping her disguise.”I would rather not, it is too bitter for my tastes,” she said, remembering the disgusting earthy taste of the drink. “Well, more to me then,” the human went to his feet, and took the mug in his hands, sipping it, he let out a content sigh of satisfaction.”the rest are juices, not sure wich is wich, or of what they are made of, lost count after Pinkie threw a cupcake at my face.” he shrugged, and moving to the door he took a last glance at Chrysalis, and then to a clock on the wall, “Ah need to get moving, got an appointment with the Princesses, so see ya later Ah guess, and eat up, ya’re too skinny for yer own right.” And with that, the human left her, again, to her own devices. It didn’t take long for her to drink everything, and after finishing her lunch, or was it dinner by then? she took a last glance at the curtains, the sun pouring through the curtains was a warm reddish orange, setting the entire room in a comfortable hue of light. She let a heavy sigh, the time spent with him recovered some of her magic, even if she wasn’t actively feeding, she still syphoned the surrounding energy. She was feeling better, somewhat full, and very, very tired. The Princesses, she thought, he’s going to see them,no doubt to talk about me, to say that I’m awake. It’s a shame, truly, even if he says they won’t kill me I can’t expect anything good coming out of this situation. She turned and turned, until she was fully covered by the heavy covers and comfortable enough in the mattress.I need to escape, somehow, and it needs to be quick, for tomorrow is my deadline.
BoundView OnlineShort Stories and Tales.Bound Princess Luna was in peace, her body rested comfortably on her bed’s soft mattress, her head upon the lap of her human, companion, friend and loved one.It was on this state of bliss that she found her toughts most clear, no noble or businesspony to meddle with, just the soft caress of the human’s finger against her mane, and sometimes the wonderfull feeling of being scratched on her ear, just so, that made her sigh soflty. It was both comforting and sad.The only being, save her sister, that treated her with normalcy was the alien, such a strange concept. Her feelings toward him were difficult to comprehend at first, but with time she started to like the man for what he was, and was happy to see that the same applied to him. His caress slowed down, and she blinked her eyes open.Turning to see him her happiness vanished in the second she saw the look of the human’s eyes. His face was contorted in pain, and she could notice his hands shaking on top of her neck. She held back her tears as she slowly weaved a spell to quench his hurt, and she heard him sigh as the magic released from her horn into his chest. “I want to come with you Luna, I wish to accompany you again.” he said. She leaned closer, nuzzling his neck in a soothing manner, she leaned closer to his ear and whispering she said, “We are looking for a solution to it,I wish the same love, but we can’t make them work faster,it’s a miracle that we have what we have.” She looked up again, to see a sad smile adorning his face, and with sadness in his voice he asked her for him to be laid down, so he could rest. She levitated him slowly, making sure to not move him with too much force. She was second with him, and both man and alicorn found themselves close to sleep. She only wished that she could wake the next day and see him walking again.
