A Light in the Dark Chapter I
Twilight looked out the window. She was tired, but she couldn't sleep. A current thought kept troubling her. She pondered about what is was. Deep in her gut she felt that something wrong just happened. She knew that something would come and change everypony. But what was it? Did it pose a threat to anypony? If so, how could she prevent it from happening? Twilight glanced over to Spike. She couldn't bear the loss of her friends. The thought of losing them saddened her. Now, she could feel the effects of tiredness in her body as she exited the balcony. She was too tired to think anymore. She returned to her bed, and fell into deep sleep, in Luna's beautiful night.
Luna was raising the moon ever so slightly so it was just perfect. But then something caught her eye. A falling star, perhaps? She enjoyed looking at falling stars. And comets, too. But this one had a strange golden tail surrounded with blue flame. It was beautiful. Yet, she was paranoid that it would do serious damage to Ponyville. She ordered that her guards of the night investigate for the fear of a wild fire spreading too close to civilization. But, in the back of her head, one thought, one phrase, one quote alone made her hesitant.
"Curiosity can be good at some points, but it also killed the cat, didn't it?"
Luna avoided paranoia and continued on with her work, moving the stars and raising the moon high into the night sky. She was truly proud of her work, but what happened kept bothering her throughout the night as she attended her duties. She remembered the beautiful comet, quickly descending into who knows where. Luna hoped there would be not damage done.
At the dawn of a new day, Princess Celestia awoke to attend to her duties. She went through her regular morning routine. Be prepared for the day, eat, and finally she slowly began to raise the sun. As she did, Luna entered the room. Sunlight burst throught the windows.
"Good morning, dear sister. I assume you slept well?" asked Celestia.
"No, sister I am afraid not," replied Luna.
"Is something bothering you?" asked Celestia.
"Not really. But, last night I saw a falling star. Or it looked like a star. I couldn't really see it at a distance. I'm sure it crashed some where in the Everfree Forest. I sent my night guards out to investigate because of the risk of a fire, yet they have not returned. I am worried and I fear they might not return."
Celestia looked fondly to her younger sister. "Worry not, I assume they will be here any time now."
As if on que, a sharp knock was heard at the door.
"Enter," said Celestia. A night guard stood in the doorway. He looked shocked, yet he remained calm.
"Your majesty's, terribly sorry to interrupt your conversation, but you should look at what we found in the Everfree." Stated the night guard.
"We will attend in a second. Dismissed." Declared Celestia.
She turned to her sister and said, "Fear not;they have returned. Now, let's go look at a "star". Shall we?"
"Yes we shall." responded Luna.
Luna and Celestia trotted over to their chariot, and flew to the designated area. Celestia enjoyed flying. Feeling the wind against her made her feel alive. After landing, they followed two day guards to the area . They were shocked at what they saw. It certainly was a trail. A crashed object lie further ahead. The guards asked if they wanted to find out what it is. The sisters nodded eagerly before following the guards deeper into the forest.
After walking about two to five minutes, they came to where the trail ended. The sisters glanced around, spying the broken trees and the burned environment surroundings. The area looked horrible. Trees broken from the force of the object, and burnt trees,bushes and land were accompanied with it. The sisters glanced over to the crashed object and gasped. It was one of the most feared creatures in Equestria. It was a human. Humans had never been very common, and were very rare. In fact,they were deemed extinct. Luna was curious so she drew closer to the human. Celestia accompanied Luna as Luna moved closer. The human was in horrible condition. It had several puncture marks spread onto its body. Dried blood was encrusted to its face, and burns covered areas of its body. Judging by the look of its face, thought Celestia ,it is very young. 10 to 15, perhaps. And... It seems so... She did not finish. She quickly scanned it using a certain spell.
It was barely alive. Just clinging so loosely to life. Celestia pitied it. She cast a spell that let her see its thoughts. She was horrified at what she saw. He, the human, had lost so much. Now, Celestia truly had sympathy for him. His parents murdered by other humans wielding weapons that shot metal, and there was nothing he could do to stop it. She could only imagine what pain he went thought. And he was only 12. As he was dying, she was able to hear his final words.
"Mom,dad, I'm coming home."
Now Celestia truly cried. Luna came and kneeled beside her. She asked what was wrong. Celestia cried and said,
"He has lost so much. His parents were murdered. Now, at 12 years, he is dead. Such a young innocent death, that never was deserved."
Luna started to cry, too. Nopony, even if they were a pony or not, did not deserve this.
They placed the body into a storage charriot to be burried. if anything, Celestia hated injustice. even when she could do nothing at all.
And then, his body began to do something.

Oops! forgot to mention, this takes place after season three. Not bad for something I threw together at 2am,eh?

A Light In The Dark
Chapter II
I can't stop running now. Adrenaline pushes through my veins, and my head is throbbing. As I stumble through the dense bush, I cut myself as I dash through branches. My mind is reeling and I can not process what just happened. Blood gushes from my wounds at a fairly fast pace. I can't take much more of this. I want to end it. I feel like I have nothing to live for. Actually, I don't. Not after what they did.
Brown and red leaves flew in the fall breeze. They did not fight the wind, they just went with it. That's kind of like my life. I'm not entirely anti social, but I don't really have friends. And I'm fine with that. No one really cares about what I have to say, other than my family, or my opinions and beliefs. I'm fine with that, too. I don't care about the way I look. I dot care the way people look at me. I just move on with my life. If a problem occurs, I learn from mistakes I've made and I move on. But this time... I won't forget.
I was watching the sun set into the west. It was beautiful. The different colours blended together to create something amazing. While deep in thought about the colours and the sun setting, my mother called me to dinner. I replied that I would be there in a minute. I turned to face the door, but something in me made me look back to the sunset. Something in me felt.... Strange. Like something was not normal. I turned on my heel and went to dinner.
Supper was great. I was preparing to watch a movie as it was Friday night. I was going to say good night to my parents when they wanted to talk to me.
"Son," my father began, "I hope you know we love you very much. The day you came to us was a day that I would never forget. You mean so much to us."
"I know that. You say it all the time." I replied, hoping not to sound bored or rude.
"Yes, but we want you to know that you mean the world to us. We would do anything to keep you safe. We just hope you know deep in your heart that we love you." added my mother.
"Son, I love you so much." Said my dad.
"We can't say how much we love you." They both said.
Those were their last words. Gunmen entered the house, and immediately shot them. My father and mother smiled at me as they lay dying. My father manage to say "Go. Run." Before he... Left.
I burst through the glass doors, sending shards into the air. The men chased after me and swore at me. I ran because my life depended on it. I didn't know where I was going, but all I wanted to do was get away. Over my shoulder, I heard a gunman scream,
"HE'S IN THE WOODS! GET HIM!" I didn't look back. I heard shot after shot as bullets whipped past me as I ran. I felt the pain of metal puncturing my body as I ran. I cursed in agony. But I kept going. I was slowed by the injury, but I was making okay distance. I screamed as several more bullets entered my body with sickening thuds. I kept going. I can't stop now. One thought was irritating me. Of all people, why my family? I was now the only person left in the family. If I fall, my family's legacy will go to no one and my family will cease to exist. That somewhat gave me a surge of power, as I noticed my pace quicken. Until I noticed the blood. The men were far away, and by then it was nightfall. I lay by an old oak tree with a clear opening to see the sky, and asses the injuries. Seven shots. It seemed impossible that I was still alive. But I knew I was going to die. Blood seeped quickly from the shots. One shot to the back, two in the arm, one in the shoulder, two in the shins, and one dead in the centre* of my chest. I sighed. I was still processing what happened. Mom and dad were dead. The rest of my family was dead. I had no one to lean onto. I had no point in living, it seemed to me. Then, an ugly thought reared its ugly complexion into my thoughts. I as now an orphan. I will never again hear the joyful laugh of dad. I will never taste mom's great cooking. I will never look into their eyes and see care. I won't see love, kindness, or anything for them again. At 13, because today was my birthday, I surprisingly felt like I had lived a fair life. Yet it seemed like a sin to die this young. I looked to the stars. I saw many constellations, and the moon. To me, I enjoyed looking at the moon because it seemed to me like an escape. Even I there are no stars in the sky, the moon remains. It is my Light in the Dark. I watch comets fly by, their beautiful tails trailing behind them. I feel the lower regions of my body go cold and numb. It is time. I gaze at my body, and look at the wounds. I pray no one bear the pain I have been thought. I thank my mom and dad, for the life and love they gave me. I one again look to the stars. I draw the final breath and declare:
"I regret nothing."

A Light In The Dark
Chapter III
Pain surrounded my body. I felt pain surge throughout my body, flowing through my veins. Never had I felt anything like this. And also, Death can be a jerk at times. I wanted to be at peace, but destiny had other plans for me…
I flew above my surroundings as I left my body below. Wind rushed through my hair as I ascended above the tree line. I was now above the clouds and quickly approaching the stars. As I got further up into the atmosphere I felt a surge of excitement and... eagerness? I rose higher and higher until my gaze met a strange platform in the distance. Was this my judgement area? Was this my utopia, or my impending doom? I just hoped that my judgement would be swift and quick.
As I floated closer, I saw something. Not a thing, I realized, but a someone. The figure was cloaked in dark robes that loosely clung to its thin body. It was standing between two doors: one was dark and blood red, and the other shone a great white and yellow light. The closer I moved, the better of a look of the figure I got. I had to mentally kick myself back into motion when I saw who it was. It was Death himself. He turned to me and I looked into the empty sockets of his skull that were his eyes. In his bony, frail hands, he held a long, slender scythe. The shaft was dark black, and the blade coloured a brilliant white. As he turned, I wanted to recoil, but some force urged me onward.
When his eyes, or where they should’ve been, met mine, he frowned. " 'tis a pity," he declared in a raspy, scratchy tone, "for a death so young. Yet, Destiny has not forgotten you." He turned his attention away from me and gazed at an empty area. Well, it was empty for the time being. I was astonished when yet another door materialized in front of my very eyes.
Flabbergasted, I managed to sputter out one word, "Hhh-h-how?"
"Your destiny," he now had his full attention on me, "lies elsewhere." Clearly, I was not impressed by this.
"I do not wish to continue my destiny. My destiny died along with everything else in me. Everything I love, and now everyone in my family is no more. The Eclipse family no longer exists. Can you not see that I wish to be at peace?! All the damage that has been dealt, all the suffering I have had to bear has been unimaginably... painful. In all due respects, I wish to go on into whatever lies ahead; be it Heaven or Hell."
The Grim Reaper turned to me and gave me a grim smile. "That is not for me to decide, as I said your destiny lies elsewhere. What you have done throughout your life has impressed me; you saved people's lives on more than one occasion, you did everything you could to make others have a good life, you always gave to those who could not afford luxuries that you could have on a daily basis. For that, Destiny has other plans for your doings." he remarked at me.
"But I'm not a hero!" I almost screamed. "I did what other people would have done. If I was the victim, someone would have done the same thing for me! What, in this universe, makes ME so special out of 7 or 8 billion people?"
Surprisingly, he chuckled. "All in due time, Aaron Eclipse. In due time." Then he cleared his throat. "And I cannot let good deeds go unrewarded." He snapped his fingers and....
Nothing happened. I looked around in utter confusion, and nothing seemed out of the ordinary. "What the..." I muttered.
Death now approached me and said, "Now go, your destiny awaits."
As I was about to protest, I felt a pull from behind me. I frantically tried to escape its grasp on me, but to no avail. I cried out in protest, but then I knew that there was no point. So I remained silent as I fell. I could feel heat surrounding my body, like when a rocket re-enters the Earth's atmosphere. I gazed at the golden flame that enveloped my body, followed by a trail of aquamarine blue fire. It seemed amazing, until I realized that I was falling toward Earth at close to a million miles per hour. I yelled, but I knew that it was pointless as no one could hear me at this altitude.
Death was tired. He sat in his chair and grimaced at the memory of the boy with brown eyes and black hair. Those eyes, he thought, are like a pile of firewood. Firewood that could be lit and could cause one hell of a blow...
