“There’s really no need for showing off, Rainbow Dash,” the butter colored pegasus brushed a lock of pink mane from her eyes, which somehow managed to cause even more of it to hang over her face like a curtain. “There are easier ways to impress somepony, you know.”
“Pfft, what?” Dash rolled her eyes, the alcohol taking its toll and making the room spin when she did so. “Showing off? Who’s – hic! ‘Scuse me. Who’s showing off? Me? Naaaaaaaaaah.”
Fluttershy blushed, her already pink tinged cheeks glowing. Her eyes flickered down to the deliberately revealing and thin black dress that Dash wore, unlike most others, even herself. “Okay. If you say so, Rainbow Dash,” Fluttershy nodded without a hint of conviction. “Does this mean you’re going to, um… well, crash at my place again?”
“Literally?” Dash smirked. “Not this time, I don’t wanna replace another window.”
“Oh, it’s fine!” Fluttershy’s hooves shot up quickly in defense, her blush deepening. “It was really my fault, I should have stayed with you-”
“F-naah,” she snickered, waving her off carelessly. “Quit blaming yourself already, you’re making me feel bad.”
“I’m sorry,” Fluttershy hid behind her wave of mane, holding her drink a little tighter.
She muttered something else, but Rainbow Dash didn’t quite catch it.
“Hey,” Dash nudged her shoulder drunkenly, sliding her empty mug back toward the busy bartender. “Hey, Flutters. I’m-I’m gonna head on home.”
“Already?” Fluttershy blinked.
“Yeah. See you later?”
The pegasus nodded to her silently after a couple of moments, and Rainbow Dash wasted no more time in the bar. The door swung shut behind her, the cool night air caressing her cheek and blowing back her mane as she grinned at the night.
She loved special nights like this one.
Not just for the beautiful clear and starry sky, though. For Rainbow Dash, it was all part of the game. Hang out with Fluttershy for a while, get as drunk as she possibly could while still retaining the ability to walk in a mostly straight line, and then go find her ‘stranger’. At least, she had been a stranger at first. For as often as Dash visited, she might as well have been one of her friends. Not that she wanted any of her friends to know it, of course.
She meandered down the street casually, humming a cheerful tune as she passed a couple of chatting ponies. Their voices bumped against her ears, not even listened to as she trundled past. Around a corner, past one of the broken street lights and down the eastern side of Ponyville. Rainbow Dash knew exactly where she was going, her adrenaline already pumping and her heartbeat racing. She was close, and tonight was going to be a good night.
The light thumping of her hoof against the heavy metal door was barely muffled by the sound of thudding techno music leaking from behind, almost seeming to penetrate the brick walls of the building. A little hatch set into the door was yanked open a few moments afterward, bright yellow eyes glaring out at her.
“Hey!” Dash leaned against the door, her words slurring. “Long time no see, Hefty. It’s me, lemme in?”
The iron door was dragged open without another pause, the grinning and very large, muscular brown earth pony’s glare long gone.
“Hot damn, ‘bout time you came back!” he clapped her powerfully on the back with a bark of a laugh. “When are you gonna learn to just use the front door like everypony else?”
“Same answer as always, Hefty,” Rainbow Dash winked at him, kicking the door shut behind her. “When you get me a VIP door.”
“This IS the VIP door,” the stallion rolled his eyes, his deep voice lolling like gravel. “Vinyl’s busy right now, you know. You’ve got bad timing if you’re waiting on her.”
“Yeah, I guessed,” Dash shrugged casually. “I can wait still, I ain’t bothered. Just tell ‘er I’m here this time, eh? I don’t like having to entertain myself… much.”
The stallion laughed again, shaking his head as he trundled back down the hall he’d come from. The little brick room didn’t hold much, but the hallway itself led to the rest of the building where the weekend raves were held by Rainbow Dash’s ‘stranger/friend’. It took her hardly any time at all to locate the stairwell, leading her to yet another hallway. Three down on the second floor, that was where Dash always went. It was then that Rainbow Dash noticed that the pumping and upbeat music below had screeched to a grinding halt, the silence lasting a few seconds before promptly shifting into another song that she’d heard somewhere before. She thought on it for a moment before shrugging, budging the door open and letting out a relaxed breath of relief.
Rainbow Dash was tackled to the ground shortly afterward.
She shrieked as the giggling mare atop her tickled her sides, her tinted sunglasses knocked slightly askew.
“Vinyl Scratch, you crazy bitch!” Dash laughed, gasping for air as the excited unicorn tickled her again. “Don’t sneak up on me like that!”
“Rainbow Dash, you crazy bitch!” she replied with equal enthusiasm. “Don’t sneak into my club!”
“Oh, shut up. You know you missed me,” Rainbow Dash puffed with a grin as the assault finally ceased, and she kissed Vinyl’s white neck eagerly. “Not as much as I missed yo~u…!”
“I’ve – mmph – really gotta whip Hefty’s ass into better bouncer shape, don’t I?” Vinyl smirked down at her, sliding her hooves onto either sides of Dash’s chest and locking her firmly against the floor before kissing her again.
