"Book Offer Otherworldly Knowledge"
It was a sunny, beautiful day at Ponyville. Twilight Sparkle, accompanied by Spike, looks up in the sky thinking that Rainbow Dash and the weather control team had done another outstanding job on clearing the cloudy sky.
“Oh, this will be a perfect day to go to Rarity! She might go jewel hunting and I, her knight in shining armor, will help her!” Spike exclaimed with claw pointing upwards.
Twilight chuckled and asked, “Have you done all the chores at the library, Spike?”
“Of course, I wouldn’t be called your #1 assistant if I haven’t done any of the chores, right?” he replied with a smug.
“Ok, then you’re free to go to Rarity, but be sure to come back home early.”
“Don’t worry about it Twilight!” Spike said and took off with a seemingly love-struck run.
Twilight chuckled while looking at the love-struck baby dragon walking towards the Carousel Boutique. Out of nowhere, a pink pony materializes seemingly out of thin air.
“HI TWILIGHT! Good morning to you!”
Startled, the purple pony replied, “Oh, it’s you Pinkie. And good morning to you too.”
“Isn’t this great! Dash did a wonderful job on clearing the skies,” the pink pony said as she bounced gleefully around Twilight.
Then she paused for a second. “Oh I know, this calls for a celebration!” and returned back to her bouncing with more fervor. All of a sudden, Pinkie’s tail started to twitch.
"Oh! It's my tail! It's my tail! It's a-twitch a-twitchin'! And you know what that means! The twitchin' means my Pinkie Sense is telling me that stuff's going to start falling!" she said as she and Twilight looked up to the sky. Twilight instinctively ducked for cover against the stuff that was going to fall, but to no avail. It still landed on her head with a loud thud.
“OW!!” she shouted in pain, while rubbing her head, trying to soothe the pain. She stands up, looking for the stuff that fell on her head.
“Are you okay Twilight?” said Pinkie with a concerned look on her face.
“Yes, I’m fine Pinkie,” she replied. “So, another flowerpot fell on my head again, huh?”
Pinkie Pie shakes her head in disagreement, then she showed Twilight the thing that fell on her head. To Twilight’s amazement, it was neither a flowerpot nor a dumbbell. It was a book.
“So that book is the one that fell on my head?” she asked Pinkie Pie.
“Yup, I was expecting a flowerpot or dumbbell to fall, but not a book,” she replied with a mischievous smile. “BUT, I never expect a book to fall. At least you got a book for free!” she continued while giving the book to Twilight Sparkle. “Well I got to go; I’ll be preparing another party for the job well done by Dashie and the weather control team. See ya later Twilight, and I expect you to come to the party.”
“Yes, see you later Pinkie, and I wouldn’t miss it for the world.” She smiled and nodded. Satisfied, Pinkie started bouncing to the direction of Sugarcube Corner to prepare for the party. Twilight, with her friend gone, started trotting to her library with her newfound book.

Twilight was thinking about the book while walking towards the library. It had a maroon color with a dark blue spine, and it looked like it has seen better days in its current condition. It had strange-looking marking, which looked like a language she hadn’t seen before.
Thinking about it made her feel curious and a little bit excited. She instantly galloped towards the library. Once inside, she used her magic to put the groceries she bought earlier and quickly put it aside on the table. She took out the book with her mouth and put it on the table. She then got her first good look at it and noticed that it had a strange marking which covered almost the whole cover of the book.
“This book is certainly not from Equestria,” she said with a curious look. With her magic, she took a ton of books on Language and Literature off the shelves to see if there was a record about this language, but to no avail.
“I guess opening this book is the only way to know if it’s Equestria-made or not,” Twilight said with excitement.
She was about to open it using her hooves, but she hesitated.
“The book is old, probably older than me. If I use my hooves to read it, I might rip a page while turning it.”
“Wait Twilight, you’re a unicorn and unicorns have magic. Oh, all this excitement makes me forget that I use magic to read!” She giggled at what happened, and then used her magic to flip the pages of the book.
At the very first turn of the page, Twilight saw a Doodle.
“Uh-huh, I guess it’s a notebook for young fillies,” she said, chuckling while inspecting the drawing. Upon closer inspection, Twilight noticed that the drawing didn’t include any ponies or known species in their world. The illustration shows six unknown bipedal species, wearing some strange clothing with numbers on it while fighting a somewhat giant shadow which appears to be an enemy. As she turns the pages, more and more illustrations appear. This only served to pique Twilight’s curiosity even more.
There was suddenly a loud knock at the door. “Twilight! Twilight!” It was Spike.
She frantically hid the book out of sight, then ran toward the door to let Spike in.
“What’s the matter Spike?” she asked while laughing nervously.
“The Princess wants to see you and the others,” he said while waving the Royal letter in front of Twilight.

It was nighttime at Equestria, all of the citizens and critters were asleep. Seemingly out of nowhere, the dark silent sky turned flaming red as a giant fireball passed over Ponyville and awakened the peaceful citizens in their slumber. Curious ponies opened their doors and windows to see the giant fireball streaking across the sky, while others are either still asleep or too scared to react to what was happening in their town.
Inside the library, the sound of clopping hooves, papers rustling, and books being dropped onto the floor could be heard. Twilight was running around inside her observatory, writing any information she could get on the mysterious flaming ball.
“Huh…Twi…what…what’s going on?” a groggy voice chirped from behind her. Twilight didn’t even look at him as Spike waddled up to her side while dragging his favorite blanket behind him, sleep still heavy in his eyes.
“Oh hey Spike, you’re up,” said Twilight
“It’s because you’re so noisy in the evening,” he grumbled while he glanced at the clock, “and still not past midnight!”
“I’m sorry Spike, I was just so excited to study this meteor. It’s like nothing that I have ever seen before. It has an odd shape and is somewhat metallic, unless my calculations are wrong,” she said while taking another glance at her calculation table.
“Based on the trajectory of the meteor, I’d say it will land at the far end of the Everfree Fo-”
“TWILIGHT!” roared the little dragon. “Just go and get some sleep, you will leave tomorrow morning to Canterlot. You don’t want to present yourself to the Princess with giant bags under your eyes, right?”
“I guess you’re right Spike. I’m sorry for waking you up.”
“Don’t worry about it. What would you do without your number one assistant?” the dragon boasted.
“Now you go back to bed, I’ll catch up to you once I’m done cleaning up,” she said to Spike, while levitating all the papers and books littered on the floor.
“Okay,” replied the dragon before going back to his bed.
Twilight was done cleaning up the observatory. She took a scroll and a quill out and started her routine checking to see if everything was in place. Content by her work, she put the scroll and quill inside a drawer and started trotting towards her room.
She quietly opened the door and closed it, trying to be careful not to wake up her sleeping assistant. She climbed up the ladder slowly, trying to be as stealthy as possible. Once at the top, she checked to see if Spike was still sleeping soundly.
“Oh Spike, you’re always there for me,” she whispered to herself, while getting into her own bed to get a good night’s rest.
“Good night, Spike,” she muttered, then drifted to sleep.

“SPIKE! I’m leaving! Take care of the library while I’m gone!” Twilight called out to Spike before leaving.
“Twilight! You almost forgot the book that you were reading yesterday!” Then Spike came running down the stairs and passed her the weird book that she was reading.
“Thanks Spike, you really are my number one assistant,” she praised the purple dragon.
With red blush clearly visible on his purple cheeks, he replied “Of course!” then returned back inside the library to start his daily chores.
I wonder if there are any books in the Canterlot Library that could tell me about the origin of this book. Not only that I have access to the library, I can show it to the princesses, since… well they both lived over a thousand years; maybe one of them could tell me about it she thought to herself while making her way to the train station to meet her friends.

Operative Needs Extraction

i put a jpg link on every operative who will be one of the major characters in the story so to help others (those who were new to KND) get a basic idea on what they look like
“We need more firepower!” ordered Numbuh 362 from the bridge to any active and conscious KND operative in the vicinity.
She took the two-way radio and changed the frequency to those of Numbuh 86.
“Numbuh 86 is the Gun tower operational?” Numbuh 362 asked through the radio.
“Yes sir! We need a few more minutes,” said Numbuh 86 in a sharp Scottish accent.
Then an argument was heard on the other end of Numbuh 86 with her shouting on an operative who was seemingly repairing the Gun tower.
“Of all stupid things in the stupid world of stupid people acting stupid,
You boys are stupidest!
It’s like you’re trying to win a stupid contest, but you’re too stupid to take a stupidity test!”
were the last things Numbuh 362 heard before ending transmission. Knowing Numbuh 86 was a misandrist, she sighed and took pity on the male operative she was shouting at. She changed the radio frequency again to order the ground troops, hoping to buy more time for Numbuh 86 and the repair team until the Gun was operational.
They were fighting a manticore, who attacked them an hour after the moonbase crashed at the edge of the forest. At the first minute of the fight, the KND was in disarray and some of the operatives were unconscious or didn’t even have a weapon, but with Numbuh 362’s quick thinking, she ordered Numbuh 86 to rally able operatives to hold off the attacking manticore.
Where the hell are we?
This is not Earth, and surely a manticore only exists in books.
And the forest trees, it’s not like the ones you commonly see at Earth.
Surely we’re not-
Numbuh 362 thoughts was interrupted by Numbuh 86’s transmission.
“Sir, the gun is operational, but we only have one shot.”
“I’ll send you the coordinates,” she replied.
“Numbuh 35, order all ground units to this coordinate so that Numbuh 86 can have a clear shot of the target!”
Both the cannon and the manticore are in place, with a clear shot, Numbuh 362 sent out an order to fire. The thunderous sound which came from the cannon echoes throughout the forest, startling all the creatures that were able to hear it.
“A direct hit sir!” exclaimed Numbuh 86.
The manticore howled in pain. Seeing the fight cannot drag any longer because of its injuries, the manticore retreated to the forest. Numbuh 362 gave a sigh of relief that they were able to fend off something that they were not trained to fight with.
She looked down on the operatives who were cheering and shouting. Knowing that this victory would not last longer, she quickly gave order to build a temporary HQ fort. Then she turned to Numbuh 35.
“Numbuh 35, gather all members of Sector V and tell them that I’ll talk with them in the briefing room and don’t tell or mention to them about Numbuh 1,” she ordered.

“Princess Luna!” exclaimed the Mane Six in delight to see Princess Luna.
“Twilight Sparkle and friends, it is thy honour to meet thou,” the Princess greeted in ‘Royal Canterlot Voice’. “It is a shame that my sister cannot welcome you all personally, for she has a political affair to attend.”
“Princess! Princess! Do you still remember me?” said the pink pony who had been jumping for a while now.
“Why yes, how could I not forget the ringleader of the frightened children last Nightmare Night festival,” replied the Princess with a bit of annoyance.
The pink pony suddenly stops in mid-air, floating without wings or magic. “Something tells me that I need cupcakes, a lot of it. I need to go to Pony Joe for some new cupcake recipes.” Then in a flash, she was gone.
Luna, turned to the others after Pinkie Pie left.
“Once my sister is done with the morning affairs, we will accompany you something that no-pony has ever seen before,” Luna said with enthusiasm. “And that’s the reason why we called you here.”
“But for now, please give your belongings to our valet so that he may take them to your respective rooms.”
The Mane Six complied and took pity to the stallion who, unfortunately chose to be Rarity’s valet.
“Now that the greetings and explaining is done-”
“Umm princess, yah only explained half of the reason why we're here,” Applejack said with a curious face.
“Ah yes, if you follow me please. Follow me,” replied the Princess as they walked towards the Castle
“Last night, we found this thing in the middle of the Canterlot garden.” She paused just beside the window where the garden is, then she gestured her hoof towards the fountain where they found the thing.
“Is it a new species?” Twilight asked with starry eyes.
“Aliens?” Rainbow Dash butted in.
The Princess was about to reply when suddenly
“Rabbits?” asked by the timid Fluttershy.
All of them were taken aback from what Fluttershy said.
“Darling, it’s hardly a reason for the princess to call six of us just to see a rabbit,” said Rarity.
Realizing the silliness of her question, she blushed and smiled sheepishly while hiding behind her pink mane. Regaining her composure from the unexpected question, Princess Luna giggled.
“Tis not a rabbit, Miss Fluttershy,” Then turning to Twilight
“Tis not a new species too. My sister and I believe that it came from another planet.”
Rainbow Dash gave a smug look at Twilight, knowing that she beat an egghead.
“You won this round,” replied Twilight as she accepted the challenge of who got most of the question right.
They all resumed walking, except for Rarity, who excused herself but promised to return before Princess Celestia comes and show them the alien.
They stop at a giant enchanted door at the far side of the castle grounds. There were five Pegasi guarding the front of the door. One of them, seemingly the captain, trotted forward to the Princess and said,
“My Lady,” the captain bowed.
“The things that you have requested are in place.” Then he peeked to the side of the princess to see her guests and continued.
“I cannot allow them to see the alien without your sister’s clearance.”
“But-” the words of Twilight was cut by the captain’s word. “No means no.”
Twilight sighed in disappointment, while the other three are still curious on what they will see. Princess Luna saw the saddened face of Twilight Sparkle for she knew that she was the only pony who was much more interested in the alien than her.
“Worry not little ones, my sister meant good. For all we know, this thing may harm anypony,” Princess Luna assured them.
Out of nowhere, a message courier came running down towards the Princess. He took out a message in his saddlebag and gave it to the Princess, who in turn used magic to read the message. The Princess frowned while reading, then nods at the messenger who instantly runs back where he came from.
“I’m very sorry Twilight and friends, but there is a matter that I must attend to.” She looked at the captain with a determined look, knowing full well that it had something to do with the last night’s event.
“As you wish my lady.” He nods, “Alright girls, if you would please follow me.”

They all entered the Laboratory wing as the Princess left. It was a big room, full of flasks and vials then they saw somepony; unicorns to be exact, wearing lab coat and experimenting magic and chemicals. Knowing ‘egg-heads’ understands those kind of things, Rainbow Dash hovered beside the captain and started asking questions about the alien.
“Is this alien dangerous?”
“So far, no. The alien is still unconscious,” replied the captain.
“Extra eyes?”
“A pair, same as us.”
“Extra limbs?”
“Four limbs, one of the scientists theorize that they walk on two legs,” the captain stood on his hind legs to mimic how they walked. “And they have this claw like thing, five in each limb, but I doubt it is useful because it’s soft and can hardly scratch a rock.”
Twilight, absorbed in thought, was approached by Applejack.
“Yah’ all right in there Twi? Yah’ seem awfully quiet,” asked by the worried Applejack. “Hope yer not scared of the alien, are yah’?”
“No, I was thinking. The book, the meteor, and now this?” said Twilight with her hoof under her chin.
“The what and the what?” Applejack was confused on what Twilight said.
“I believe the events of last night has something to do with this.” She looked at Applejack, still confused. “Oh sorry, I think it will be easier to explain once we see the alien.” Then, she giggled
“Ok girls, here we are,” said the guard.
They entered a small, but spacious room. There’s a table in middle. “Those things at the table are what we recovered from the alien,” he said while gesturing to it.
They all walk towards it. Rainbow Dash was the first one to get close to it. “What the hay? This is all a bunch of junk, and here I thought they would have some of those lasers and ray guns like in the comic books,” she growled in disappointment. “Ugh, if I only joined Rarity in her shopping spree rather than see this bunch of junk.”
The other three trot over. “A’hm gonna agree with Dash here, this all are a bunch of household things.” Then she points towards a somewhat a wooden mechanism with magnets and saw tool.
Then Twilight used her magic and levitated the thing which Applejack pointed. She examines it for a while.
“Careful now, that thing is a weapon,” said the unicorn scientist who saw Twilight examining the gadget.
“Beg yer pardon?” Applejack asked the scientist. “How come a wood with magnet became a weapon?”
The scientist didn’t reply, but made a demonstration. He put a rock on the table. “Now I want you girls to stand back, I don’t want any debris to hit you.” All of them trot back, except for Rainbow Dash.
“I’m not going to stand back.” Then, doing a heroic pose, “I’m too cool for that.”
The scientist shrugged. “Your choice.” With magic, he fires the gadget at the rock. The top plank in the gadget hits the rock, obliterating it and sending a large chunk towards Rainbow Dash, which instantly hits her in the forehead. But Rainbow Dash didn’t react, with agape mouth; they were all staring in amazement. Such destructive force in a simple mechanism, not to mention the speed.
“So, yer sayin’ that everything here is a weapon?” Applejack asked.
“No,” the scientist replied flatly, “as far as we know.”
Then Applejack took the small watch device. “Well, this sure is some accurate watch,” she turned it back and saw some markings which she cannot understand. “Uh doc, any idea what does this mean?”
The scientist trots towards her and took a good look at the watch, which now started to blink red.
“By Celestia! We didn’t know this marking existed in this watch, and it can do some blinking lights!” he exclaimed. “Thank you very much, Miss..?”
“Applejack,” she replied.
“Miss Applejack, if you hadn’t seen this mark, we wouldn’t be able to progress,” he said with admiration. “We were so busy playing with those ‘weapons’ that we forgot to examine the others,” he said while shaking hooves with Applejack.
“Aww shucks, it ain’t no a big deal,” Applejack blushed at the praise she received, Twilight trotted towards her to see the markings.
NUMBUH 1, SECTOR V
Twilight asked the scientist, “Any idea on what the marking means?”
“From what I guess, it must be a name or a serial number, since we have the same numeral numbers,” replied the scientist. Twilight, now sinking in her own thoughts, trying to piece together the connection of this and the events last night.
Rainbow Dash, snapping from reality; she turned from a boring attitude into an interested one. She took another gadget; a blender, she then tried to shoot it, but to no avail.
“Hey, what gives? This thing doesn’t work!” which she almost threw in frustration.
“Try pressing the trigger, the small button beside it,” replied the scientist.
Following the scientist’s advice, she aimed it at the table and pressed it. The table suddenly turned into ice. “Omygoshomygoshomygosh.... THIS IS SO COOL!” she shouted excitedly like a little filly with a new doll. She then realized that Twilight Sparkle is staring at her with a smirk on her face, she lands down and returning the gadget in the ice table. “Uh.. well.. I’m still cool for that kind of thing,” she blushed sheepishly.
“Of course you do,” Twilight retorted with a smug.
Fluttershy, who was quiet the whole time, was noticed by the Captain that she was eyeing interestedly at the black shades. The captain took the shades and hand it over to Fluttershy, who suddenly shied away behind her pink mane.
“Care to try it on, Miss...”
Fluttershy mumbled some words which the Captain didn’t quite understand.
“Come again?”
She replied the same mumbled words again.
“I’m sorry, I can’t understand what you just said.”
“Fluttershy,” Applejack answered in her stead. “Sorry for that one, she’s just shy of meeting a new pony.”
“Oh ok, I understand,” replied the Captain in disappointment. “But can you give this to her, she seems quite interested in these shades.” He then gave the shades to Applejack.
“Sure do!” She then headed towards Fluttershy. “Hey Fluttershy, the captain said that you want to try this out?” She hands over the black shades.
“Oh sure.. umm.. if they don’t mind,” she then wears the black shades.
“Looks good on you,” Applejack complimented her, which made her blush and again, hide behind her mane now wearing the shades.
All of the sudden, the watch which the scientists are now examining emitted sounds and vibrated for 5 seconds before going silent again. All of them were startled from what happened
“What in the hay was that?” said the Captain in confusion.

“ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?” Numbuh 362 shouted at Sector V members.
“What makes you think that you can walk around and shoot my very MOONBASE?”
after calming down, she rubs her temples.
“And you, Numbuh 74.239,” turning to the scientist, “who gives you clearance on making a prototype portal in my moonbase?”
“But Numbuh 362, the deep sea research lab is under the Cootie-zombies,” Numbuh 74.239 replied.
“Fine. For now, try repairing the-” She was cut short when Numbuh 35, the communications officer, barge in the room
“Sir, we received a unknown encrypted signal coming from the North,” she said while panting.
“Sector V, you’re with me,” she said as she walk out of the briefing room, “we’re going on a rescue mission."
