Canterlot

In the eyes of a capricious mare

Having a slice of multilayered cake, reading the latest Playmare issue, getting the warmest and relaxing bath that Canterlot can provide, it's no wonder that Princess Luna became rebellious to her sister, eventually to the point that she turned into Nightmare Moon from holding her back too much.

Of course, the time to act like a big shot begins with one telepathic message form her own sister, saying that she will be queen of Equestria.

Is that what she hoped she said? Pretty sure she heard every word. With a fangirlish squeal, she ran out to the balcony and screamed as loud as possible. This "Royal Canterlot Voice" was enough to wake the entire castle up, with many unsheathed swords, half dressed knights, and lots of harsh yelling, ready to defend against the faux invasion that they thought was underway.

Moments later when Luna was all fast asleep

"False alarm! It's just Princess Luna!" a general yelled at the knights while at the ruined gardens. With many grunts and sighs from the knights, they all went back to the barracks.

The next day

Luna wakes up with a warm cup of milk and a plate of chocolate cookies all conveniently placed in a tray. As she sipped the last cup dry and munched the last cookie, she brought out a mace under her bed stuffed inside a chest.

As a filly, a cleric gave her this mace while Celestia wasn't in audible reach, joking that she might need to defend herself when Celestia dies. She was quite saddened at his harsh remark and kept it hidden where her sister's nose won't go near from the stench that is her room.

But this toughened her, you see. As she grew into adolescence being constantly pounded by his words, aside from the sudden attraction to stallions, she begins to shirk all this sugar coated lifestyle and has a thirst for liberty.

And the rest is history.

After her daily parry in the secrecy of her room, she took out her leather clothing inside the chest and proceeded to don her dark-hued armor made from the finest leather and dye that she bought with the money she earned selling her sweets to the common children. And with a slam of a door, she steps out with her true colors, now that Celestia's out of the picture, saying that she's going to Consequentia with some old guy for some reason, she's now ready to show the entire army that she's one of them.

At the throne room

"Wait, where's Queen Celestia?" one of the clerics asked.

"About that. Celestia went abroad to Consequentia. I'm your new queen. That's what my sister told me through telepathy."

There was silence... and then an uproar, with many knights arguing about the authenticity of Luna's sentence.

"Our new queen? The spoiled princess? This is blasphemy!" a mage cried out.

"Yup. Equestria is a virgin ready to be raped by the other countries!" Twilight shrieked.

"Ah, they know better than defiling a virgin." Shining reassured his younger sister, "This is the continent of Law. If this is the continent of Chaos, we'd all be dead right now."

They we're not terrified just because of a fresh face, they were really terrified that the fresh face is the spoiled princess. And she's going to be a queen.

Even though she was no stranger to what's happening outside, she was quite inexperienced in being a leader. She spent too much time training herself, and not the people for crying out loud! How can she possibly lead an entire nation with such inexperience? Even the stoic generals were quite nervous for disastrous bloodshed.

As she overheard some knights arguing, Luna lowered her head and sighed.

"This is too much for me. I thought it will be easy being a queen." she muttered to herself. She inhaled and exhaled loudly.

"But I must be strong! My sister depends on it!" she gritted her teeth.

And with that, she violently screamed "SILENCE!" causing the chaos to stop.

"I may be new to this, but I've been waiting for this chance to happen ever since adolescence. Just give me some time and I will be just as good as my sister. Is that clear?"

"...Yes, your highness." they humbly apologized and quickly formed back into position.

"Look, I'm not a fool nor a spoiled princess, and I DO NOT want to be called a spoiled princess ever again, understand?"

"Yes, your highness." they all said in unison.

As she scolded the knights, two generals in heavy plate whispered in each others ear.

"Think the mare will survive?" one chuckled sourly.

"Only time will tell, my friend. Only time will tell..."
