Want it Need it: Early Origins
It was two-thousand years ago. Way before Discord's reign and Princess Luna's banishment. Here, we have a stallion named Omega Envy. As a little colt, he was very neglected from his own parents. So, Omega had to learn everything from himself. As a result, he worked at a restaurant in early Ponyville, with a very demanding boss. Omega's job was to be the humble janitor. His boss approached him.
"Hey, little cupcake. Did you clean the floors yet?"
"Well, yes si-"
"It doesn't look like it to me. Get back to work. I want them to be spotless."
"But sir, I just mopped the floor six times already."
"Wash them again. You need to keep trying and trying, until it's perfect. Got it?"
Omega gave a slight sigh and responded to his boss with an "Okay." He started mopping for the seventh time. Omega Envy grabbed the mop and a bucket of water with his magic. Omega began to mop the floors with his best efforts. Society didn't really honor him either besides Omega's boss. Some ponies would just be really rude and don't think very highly of this Omega Envy. One pony was sitting at a table, and beside it were Omega mopping and his water bucket. The pony made a little kick to the bucket, spilling the water all over the floor. The next step that Omega took was a very painful fall. He slipped on the spilled water, making him fall over on the floor and getting his head into the bucket. Everypony in the restaurant had there attention to Omega. They were pointing their hooves, chuckling, and even laughing hysterically at the unfortunate brown unicorn. Omega Envy was so embarrassed that he tried to get out of this scene as quickly as he can and go back home right this minute. This routine has actually gone for quite some time in Omega's life. He would face these kind of struggles every day in his stallionhood. But this time, Omega snapped.
Later that night, we find Omega taking his time to slowly trot to his poor cottage. He walked upstairs to his bedroom and went on his bed and began to sob. Omega Envy faced the mirror that was in front of his bed. He gazed upon his own reflection and mumbled to himself.
"Why must this be the same routine I am going through every day......? Why must I be treated like trash? WHY MUST THIS HAPPEN TO ME?"
Omega began to bawl even more. His mind began to fill with anger, sorrow, and frustration. These emotions triggered Omega's magic. The navy blue aura went on and made a small explosion. A bolt of magic flew into the mirror, reflected back at Omega Envy, and made him black out. On the next day, he woke up with a headache.
"Ugh, what just happened last night?" Omega mumbled to himself. He reluctantly and lazily crawled out of bed.Omega frowned and let out a sigh. "Well, time for another day at work."
Omega went trotting down the stairs, went out of his house, and into the town. As he was walking, he noticed something strange. Everypony in Ponyville was peering at him. What is going on? Omega thought. Just out of nowhere, a civilian shouted out.
"OH MY CELESTIA!!!!! IT'S HIM!!!!!"
At that very moment, the townsponies were sprinting towards Omega Envy. The mares were bouncing and squealing, and other stallions were smiling and waving to him, as if they were his best friend. Omega was growing a grin upon his face. He finally knew what it's like to be admired.
Everywhere Omega went, everypony followed him. They couldn't stop stalking and complimenting Omega. But one day, everything went out of hand. Omega was taking a short trot around Ponyville and came to a stop. He heard two mares arguing and bickering behind him.
"Look, Cloudy Skies, do I have to make myself clear? That stallion is mine, and there's nothing that you can do to change that!"
"Nuh-uh! He's not going to choose you with all of that you got there, Ruby Ring!"
"Are you saying that I'm not good enough for him?"
Cloudy Skies simply nodded and made a smug smile. Ruby raised her hoof at her face.
"You take that back!!!"
Cloudy pushed her hoof to the side.
"Well, why would I anyway!?"
The two mares then began to get into a rough fight. Omega fake-coughed loudly to get their attention.
"Excuse me, ladies, don't worry. There's enough of me to go around."
The mares were just too busy fighting that they didn't have any regard of what Omega has just said. A minute later, two stallions were brawling over who is going to be a better friend for Omega. Then, the whole crowd was just getting into fights.
"Um, guys?"
Feeling very concerned and worried, Omega Envy was rushing back to his home. One pony saw the escape.
"HE'S GETTING AWAY!!!!!! AFTER HIM!!!!!!!!"
Everypony was trying to get in Omega's trail and catch up to him. Omega went into his cottage,closed the curtains, and crouched behind a sofa. He let out a "Phew." That was close. What was going on? Why are they acting like this? he thought. Omega's cottage didn't actually provide any safety whatsoever. Ponies were breaking through the windows, busting through the door, and running towards Omega. There was insanity in everypony's eyes.
"I WANT HIM!!!!!"
"I NEED HIM!!!!!"
Those were the last words that Omega Envy heard. For this is the last time that we ever see him again.
