Chapters "I simply can't accept this Cadence. We don't have room for another princess."
"but Celestia! this is my baby we're talking about!"
Princess Celestia was just informed that Cadence and Shining Armor were having a baby, and Princess Celestia doesn't want any more royalty ever again, except for herself and Luna.
"your majesty," Shining Armor started.
"we can't get rid of the baby just like that"
"oh, we can, Shining," said Princess Celestia. "with magic."
Cadence started getting teary.
"If you aren't going to get rid of the child, then i will!" said Princess Celestia in deep anger.
"NO! i won't let you dispose of my baby!" Cadence bursted in to tears.
"then you must go! Shining Armor, i don't care what happens to you. Cadence, you must be far from Equestria when this baby is born. that is final."
letting out nothing but sobs, Cadence ran out of the room. Shining Armor followed. Later, at their house, they were trying to decide what to do.
"where will we go? how will we survive? how will we keep the baby safe?" Cadence said to Shining Armor.
"Cadence, sweetie, you have to calm down now, we'll figure it out."
"how can i calm down when we're getting kicked out of Equestria with our baby?! i CANT calm down!"
once again she burst into sobs.
"we need to tell someone! we, we, we, we can start a rebellion and everything will be okay! and Celestia won't be there to control every pony with all her new laws!"
"oh Cadence. We can't just go start a rebellion. its not as easy as you think... But! i do know the perfect person to tell. but we can't tell Celestia. we're not supposed to tell anyone."
"well," Shining Armor said as he tried to put up a faint smile, "off to Ponyville we go."
"Twily!"
"Shining! what are you doing here? did Princess Celestia make your baby disappear?"
"no," answered Cadence, "but i'm being banished from Equestria if i'm keeping the baby."
"oh! no no no, that can't be right! you can't just leave!" Twilight said in dismay.
"thats why we came to you." said Shining Armor, we need a plan.
"okay, i have the books, and spells." said Twilight.
"i have the food." said Shining Armor.
"and i have everything else." said Cadence.
they headed to the Everfree forest. If anyone saw them, they might report to Celestia about the royal baby. Twilight lead them to Zecora's house. when they were welcomed by Zecora, they were given a spell for hiding. Zecora let them spend the night.
"*yawn* i couldn't sleep last night." said Cadence sleepily.
"me either." said Shining Armor.
"wait." said Cadence. her eyes opening wider.
"where's-"
"Twilight!!" finished Shining Armor.
Zecora had no clue where Twilight was. she was gone.
"i see a note!" shouted Shining." it says, 'oh cadence. i thought you were smarter than that. running off to twilight? not so smart. i see E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G. i have the orb. and with twilight, i can see past your silly little hiding spell.'... Celestia has Twilight!'
"we have to go back!"
"to Canterlot?" asked Cadence.
"yes."
"well shining, I- *oof*" cadence felt funny.
"eh, my stomach.. it feels weird."
"this can't be good."
Cadence and Shining Armor thanked Zecora, and went back though the Everfree forest.
"Cadence," said Shining Armor as he tried to catch his breath.
"Cadence, you have to go without me."
"What??" Cadence said surprisingly.
"you have wings. I don't. you can fly to Canterlot!" said Shining.
"I can't go there alone! its dark and creepy! and if Celestia finds out i'm still here, who knows what she'll do to me!" Cadence shouted.
"... it will be hard for me to let you go there unprotected like this, but we have to save Twilight! and we have to get the umm, 'orb.'"
Cadence didn't say a word. she just turned to the mountain where Canterlot took place. She gave him a kiss and began to speak.
"if i don't come back-" she started.
but Shining Armor cut her off, "don't even say that!"
Now Shining Armor was teary.
"just let me finish. If i don't come back, i will have done my duties. i will have gotten the orb, and i will have left it in the royal library."
Cadence was now in Canterlot. Canterlot used to be such a beautiful place. but now, all she could see where royal guards, stone, and dust everywhere. Once in a while she would here a pony scream. or a baby cry. soon enough, the castle was in her sight. she headed to the castle doors.
"halt" said one of the guards.
"state you name and business."
"I am Princess Cadence, from the Crystal Empire. Princess Celestia needs me." Cadence said bravely, though she found herself shaking.
the guards let her in. she walked around the castle a little bit. "where could the orb be?" she asked herself. but then, right in front of her, was a small door with a tiny window. inside, she could see Twilight. Twilight and the orb.
"Twilight!"
"shh Cadence," Twilight said weakly.
"We have to get you and the orb out of here!" she said more quietly
just then, Cadence used her alicorn magic to break the spell keeping the door closed. as they walked through the halls of the castle, Cadence noticed that Twilight was shaking, and had bags around her eyes. before Cadence could ask, Twilight began to speak.
"Princess Celestia is cruel. she made me power her orb while she did her own business. I've been doing it for hours."
"oh you poor thing! I'll get you some- oh dang it! Shining has the food."
so they just walked and walked. they were almost at the door, when,
"HALT!" said a royal guard,
"give us the orb NOW, and the Princess will deal with you two."
Twilight and Cadence looked at each other and ran as fast as they could. soon, they got to the library. Cadence put the orb inside one of the books. she burned out the bags to the orb would fit. she carefully put the book back, and sat on the floor.
"what are you doing?" twilight asked, almost out of breath.
"i'm hiding the orb where i told shining i would if i..."
"oh." said Twilight. "but we have to hide!"
"Twilight, i- *oof*"
"ehh, argh" Cadence was making funny noises.
"oh no!" Twilight said. "do you think?"
"AAAAAGGHHH"
Twilight brought Cadence over to a corner and grabbed a blanket.
"Cadence... are you ready?"
"hurry now do it now Twilight AAAGGH"
"let me in this instant." said Shining Armor.
knowing he was a royal guard, they let him into the castle. Shining Armor immediately went to the royal library. he saw Twilight in a corner.
"wheres Cadence?" he asked.
"she's not here. Celestia had her taken away. the guards didn't see me." Twilight responded quietly.
Shining Armor was ready to scream, but he then noticed what Twilight held in her arms. his face went blank and his mouth dropped open.
"th-th-that's my," he stumbled.
"yep. thats the baby." Twilight said.
Twilight handed the baby to Shining. it was asleep. then Twilight walked over to a big green book. in it was the orb. she gave the orb to shining.
"I don't know how to do this twi," he started.
"maybe you should do it. after all, magic is your cutie mark."
"what spell would i use?" she asked.
"i have absolutely no idea." he responded.
luckily, they were in a library filled with books on spells. Twilight used to live here, so she found the exact book they needed.
"okay," she said. "an activation spell would work."
Twilight kneeled down and tilted her head at an angle where her horn pointed directly at the orb.
"it didn't work! i don't have enough power." she said disappointedly.
"i guess i have to give you my power." said Shining.
"i'll give it back after." Twilight giggled.
She once again tilted her head to the orb, and did an activation spell. the orb began to glow. Twilight could now see Princess Celestia.
"it worked! i can see anything i desire!" she said.
Shining Armor walked over to the orb.
"i don't see anything." he said.
"thats cuz I'm the one who did the spell. I want to see Cadence." she said.
just then, Twilight could see Cadence on the floor of a dungeon under the castle. before she could say anything, she headed to the dungeon. she put the baby and the orb in her pouch. a confused Shining Armor followed.
When the royal guards where in sight, Twilight simply brushed them away with her powers. soon enough they were inside the dungeon.
"Cadence!" Shining Armor yelled out.
they ran over to Cadence, who was on the dungeon floor. before anyone could say another word, Princess Celestia appeared.
"I told you the baby couldn't be born! or at least not in Equestria!" she said angrily.
Celestia used her powers and levitated the baby out of Twilights pouch. but Twilight used her own powers and put the baby over next to Cadence. Then, Celestia struck at the baby with her powers, but Cadence held the baby to the side and got hit.
"no!!" yelled Shining Armor.
he ran over to Cadence, who was now pail all over. the baby fell from her grip into Shining Armor's hooves. you could see the anger and sadness inside Shining Armor's eyes. he turned to Celestia.
"you killed her. she's dead.. SHE'S DEAD, YOU MONSTER SHE'S DEAD!!!!"
Princess Celestia aimed at Shining Armor, but instead, Twilight struck her on her leg.
"Twilight Sparkle. You really think you could beat me in a battle? haha. you are even dumber than i thought, my little pony."
Princess Celestia let out a beam of power heading for Twilight, and Twilight did the same. but Celestia's beam was more powerful. Twilight was practically against the dungeon wall, but she let out a huge beam of rainbow power and Celestia was pushed against the wall. Twilight then fainted, for she had handled so much power. Shining Armor tried to fight Celestia, but Twilight still had his powers. so he threw a rock at Princess Celestias head. He thought it was over, but an angry Celestia teleported the two of them to a cliff. Princess Celestia cornered Shining to the edge of the cliff. it was silent. she levitated him so that he was about 2 feet away from the cliff edge, and about 5 feet high up from the cliff floor. Twilight had woken up, and looked into the orb, and found them on the cliff. Twilight teleported there as well. when she got there, she hit Celestia with a beam of power. Celestia fell to the ground. Twilight thought to her self for a second and realized something. "wait no!!" she screamed. she ran to the cliff edge. Shining Armor had fallen when Celestia fell. Twilight couldn't accept it. she kicked the orb into a boulder, and it lit up.
"huh?"
inside it, she saw Shining Armor on a mattress at the bottom of a cliff. Twilight flew down to the bottom of the cliff. she saw a stallion with his mattress. but Shining Armor was on the mattress.
"oh thank you sir! for pushing your mattress here!"
"wait.." Shining Armor started. "wheres the baby?"
"hello there child, what are you doing here?"
"gahgoogehblopah"
"hmm, you're kind of cute. i'll take you to my room." Luna smiled at the baby and took her out of the dungeon.
