Chapter One: the Adventure Begins

Hi, I'm Anna Belle, I'm eight years old, and I like to play video games, most of the time anyway. I live in Ponyville, with my mom, my daddy, and my baby sister. I don't have a cutiemark yet, but hopefully, I will soon. And today's the start of the new school year.

"DADDY!" Anna Belle screamed at the top of her lungs. "I'M READY FOR SCHOOL!"

"IT'S SIX A.M.!" Anna Belle's father screamed back, with annoyance in his voice. "GO BACK TO BED!"

"NEVER MIND!" Anna Belle scream back as she plopped on the floor. Anna Belle had blue eyes, and like her dad, she had dark orange hair, with a few strains of light orange. But, her hair curled at the ends, just like like her mom's. Crystal was also a unicorn and had a white coat like her mom. "Ughhhhh......... there's nothing to do,"  Anna Belle complained as she looked around her purple painted room. She had tons of pictures on her wall. Most of them were ones she had drawn, but some were of her family and friends. She also had a lot of video games, all of which her dad had designed. But sadly, Anna Belle had already defeated all the games, and saw no reason to play them again. "Why does life have to be sooo....... boring?" Anna Belle asked herself, quietly. "Why can't it be fill with adventure and action, like video games?" Anna Belle swung her hoof around like a sword.

Anna Belle sat there for awhile, just looking at the pink clock that sat on her white side table next to her white and blue bed. As the minutes ticked by, she did admit that she woke up way too early. School didn't start until eight-thirty, and now, it was only six-twenty. Anna Belle groaned. She looked around her bedroom for something to do, but there was nothing. Nothing, but video games and her journal. That's it! Anna Belle thought. My journal! Anna Belle quickly looked through her stuff, pulling out drawers and dumping out all of the contents, she also pulled off the blue covers to her bed. She looked in her closet, pulling out all the toys that were crammed in there.

By the time she had found her journal, her room was an absolute wreck. Anna Belle looked at the pink clock, it said "eight-o-clock". I guess that helped pass the time, she thought, smile slightly. Mom will call me down for breakfast soon.

Right after Anna Belle had finished saying that in her head, her mother, Sweetie Belle, called upstairs. "Anna Belle, sweetie, I've made pancakes. It's chocolate chip, your favorite."

Anna Belle gasped and immediately began running down the stairs so fast, that she ran right into the wall next to the refrigerator. "M...O...M!!!!" Anna Belle whined, tears beginning to stream down her face. She looked at her mother with pleading eyes.

Sweetie Belle turned her face towards her daughter. "Just like your father when he was a filly. Every time you don't get your way, or even get the slightest hurt, you start whining."

"B-But, it hurt!" Anna Belle whined louder, more tear beginning stream down her face.

"It couldn't have hurt that bad," Sweetie Belle said, rolling her eyes. "Now come eat your pancakes."

"Yes, ma'am," Anna Belle said as she sat down at the table with her baby sister, Purple Rose. Purple Rose had orange eyes like her dad, she was also an earthpony like him too. She had a white coat, and purple hair, which she had gotten from her mother. Purple Rose was just about a year old, she could walk and say some words, but she still need somepony to feed her and change her diaper still.

Anna Belle looked around the kitchen, looking for her dad, but only saw her mother and sister. "Mom, did daddy leave already."

"Yes, he got called in early today," Sweetie Belle answered, making her own plate. "He's working on a new video game, and I think you'll like it."

Anna Belle groaned. "Why is it always video games? Why can't daddy design something else for a change?"

"Trust me," Sweetie Belle said. "You're going to love the new game."

"Oh, what's it about?" Anna Belle asked, a smile spreading across her face.

"It's a surprise," Sweetie Belle answered, smiling slightly to herself.

"I hate surprises," Anna Belle said, bitterly. Her smile turned into a frown. Anna Belle shoved a fork full of chocolate chip pancakes into her mouth.

Sweetie Belle sighed. "You always say that. Even on your birthday you wanted me to tell you everything you were getting."

"What's wrong with that?" Anna Belle asked.

"Everything, you don't ask somepony what they are giving you," Sweetie Belle said, giving Purple Rose some pancakes.

"Sissy bad," Purple Rose said, giggling as she stuffed a pancake into her mouth.

"Am not!" Anna Belle yelled at her baby sister. Purple Rose began to tear up as she continued to chew her pancake.

"Anna Belle, be nice to your sister," Sweetie Belle said, taking Purple Rose out of her high chair and beginning to cradle her. "She's just a baby, and probably doesn't even know what we're talking about."

"How do you know that?"

"Well," Sweetie Belle began. "I don't know if I'm a hundred percent right, but I am sure she doesn't understand everything."

Anna Belle tilted her head to the side and looked at Purple Rose with curiosity filled eyes. "I've always wonder what goes on in Purple Rose's mind."

Sweetie Belle chuckled to herself at her daughter's silliness. "You're sure are a exjordanary filly, now hurry up before your late for school."

Anna Belle gasped and looked at the white kitchen clock that hung above the stove it said, "eight-twenty." Anna Belle didn't know how in the wide, wide world of Equestria time had past that fast, but right now, she couldn't care less. She didn't want to be late on the first day of school. Anna Belle quickly ran upstairs and look for her saddlebag in her now, very messy room. What was I thinking when I pulled out all my stuff like that? Anna Belle asked herself, digging through a large pile of things. She kept on looking, discovering things she didn't know she had. Such as old toys that she had thought were long gone, she even discovered a old blue helmet with a lighting bolt. "Lighting will be glad I found this," Anna Belle said, putting the helmet on for safe keeping.

"Anna Belle!" Sweetie Belle yelled upstairs. "You need to leave now!"

"But I can't find my saddlebag!" Anna Belle screamed back, beginning to look faster, checking under her bed and dresser.

"Just go, I'm sure Mrs. Cheerlee won't mind!"

"Yeah, I guess." Anna Belle trotted down the stairs, still wearing the blue helmet, which belonged to her best friend in the whole wide world, Lighting Solstice.

"Where did you get that?" Sweetie Belle asked, looking at the blue helmet.

"Remember when Lighting and Scootaloo came to spend the night?"

"Yes," Sweetie Belle answered.

"Remember when Lighting lost his helmet?" Anna Belle asked.

"Yes," Sweetie Bell answered again.

"I found it."

"I can see that," Sweetie Belles said, rolling her eyes. "Now go to school."

"Okie dokie!" Anna Belle said, bouncing to the door. She opened it and bounced out in the chilly morning air. Anna Belle smiled as she bounced off to school. Eventually she got tired, and decided to walk. As Anna Belle walked to school she thought if all the new and fun things that her and Thunder would do.We can go bowling and swimming! Anna Belle thought. There's gonna be so— Anna Belle was suddenly snapped out of her thoughts when she rammed into something.

"Ouch," Anna Belle said as she got off the ground and dust herself off. She looked around to see who, or what, had rammed into her like that. Her eyes set on a filly earthpony that was on the ground. She looked like she was around Anna Belle's age. She had a light pink coat and her hair was blue with a few strains of white. Her hair was also long and wavy.

The filly whined as she slowly got up. "Ow. . . That really hurt!" The filly begin to dust herself off the best she could.

Anna Belle quickly rushed over to the pink filly. "I'm so, so sorry! I should have been watching where I was going! I am such—"

"It's fine," the filly interrupted. "I might be a little dirty, but I'm not hurt."

"That's good," Anna Belle said, smiling from relief. "I'm Anna Belle, by the way."

The filly looked at Anna Belle with a warm, friendly smile. She had light rosy eyes. "I'm Diamond Rose." She held out her hoof.

Anna Belle took it and shook it rapidly. "Nice to meet ya!"

Diamond Rose smiled big. "Now I know somepony that will be at my school."

Anna Belle raised one of her eyebrows. "How do you know we go to the same school?"

"Because I saw the way you were walking," Diamond Rose said. "Plus, there's only one school in Ponyville."

"Good point," Anna Belle said, managing to smile even bigger.

Diamond Tiara smiled back. "Wanna walk the rest of the way to school together."

"Absolutely!" Anna Belle said, jumping a little. So together, the two fillies made their way to school. The told each other jokes and stories. And Anna Belle knew this was the start of a new friendship.
