//-------------------------------------------------------// Walking my Path -by Emerald Knight- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// A Mile is his Hooves //-------------------------------------------------------// A Mile is his Hooves To truly know a pony, you must walk a mile in their hooves, but that isn't possible because you cannot just take another ponies hooves off and put them on, that is one reason why Twilight Sparkle never much cared for this saying, but she knew what it meant, never judge or criticize anypony without getting to know said pony, she does just that, she never judges anypony without getting to know them first and learning their past, but sometimes she can't help but judge those evil ponies she sees on TV from all the bad things they have done, she never tries to see what they had done or why, she just judged the evil ponies, never the ones who looked like a normal pony. Until, one day she found a book left at her front door. It was a old, beaten book with a black leather cover, the seams on it look as though it would fall apart any second, but when she examined the old book further, she saw that it would take a pony with great strength to tear this book worse then it already was. Once she had brought it inside her Castle she opened the old tome and read the title aloud "The Path I Walk." she continued reading down the page. She saw that the authors name, it had remained unwritten, but there was a symbol, an eye like shape inside of a diamond. Twilight thought that the book might be worth less, seeing as the author had not written their name on it, but then she remembered another old saying, 'Never judge a book by its cover.' so she decided to read into it a little bit, seeing if it was worth of placing in her library. After reading the first chapter, promptly called 'The Exile' it had grabbed her attention and keep it glued to the page since then, it was like it had a spell that was made to keep the readers attention, because when she stopped reading, she saw that time had changed by almost 3 hours, that thought baffled her, how could it have taken her 3 hours to read a chapter of this book, when she was able to read whole tomes in less time, she had to see if this was possible, it was time to ask Celestia about this strange tome. ~~~~~Canterlot~~~~~ As Twilight stepped off of the train, she noticed that somepony was following her, she saw them on the train, they hadn't taken their eyes off her since she got on the train it had really started to creep her out, she was about to intercept him, then a pony started to cross in front, a smile crossed the strange stallions face and then disappeared behind the pony without any trace. Twilight walked into the throne room and approached Princess Celestia, book grasped in her magic, Twilight hovered the book to the Princess and said "Princess, I have to get some answers about this book. It talk's about you, the author seems to dislike your rule and it say's that you they knew you personally." The Princess looked at the cover and then flipped it open and started reading, but within a few moment she looked up and asked "Twilight, where did you get this book?" Twilight then replied "I found it at the entrance of the Friendship Palace, why?" The Princess had looked back at the book and spoke "Tell me Twilight, do you know what it means to be exiled?" Twilight slanted her head in confusion and said "To be expelled from one's native country, namely for political reasons." Celestia nodded her head and spoke "Yes that is right, Twilight, what if I told you that after I had banished Luna that I started exiling her follower's." that put a spin on her view of Celestia, there was no way Celestia would do that to her subjects. Twilight looked at her and said "No, you couldn't, there is no reason to, did you exile her follower's?" Celestia only nodded her head in shame. She then looked at Twilight and spoke of a certain pony she had exiled "Twilight, back when my sister turned into Nightmare Moon there was one other pony who tried to reason with her, try to talk her into putting the moon back down. In fact I still remember some of the words he said to her. 'Luna, please put the moon back down, if they shun the night, its because they are jealous of its beauty and radiance, they enjoy the sun because they feel it isn't as wonderful as they are, the moon is better then they are, now please, princess, lower the moon.'." "I remember that I would have worked, if I hadn't interfered before the words sunk into her. I remember the look upon his face when I sentenced him with treason and had him exiled from Equestria. I regret doing that to him, but my mind was fearful of a revolution against our Rule, the ponies feared that it would become a dictatorship instead of it staying a monarchy. Even though he wasn't one of her followers they saw him as their new leader but he was to humble to be called a leader of any kind so he left them and they fell apart and most of the rebellion talk was just mere whisper when I had the guards seize him from his work establishment but a few weeks after his banishment riots broke out in many of the cities. It took weeks to get the public to calm down about his banishment, I even lifted his banishment but we where never able to find him." "Princess, what do you think this book means?" Princess Celestia looked out to the sky and spoke "He has returned." "You mean the pony you banished, but that was over a thousand years ago. No normally pony could live that long
