There's Always An Afterwards
Something to Ask
Previous ChapterNext ChapterCheese's eyes fluttered open and immediately felt something resting on his chest. Without moving his head, he turned his gaze to his chest. He smiled as he spotted Pinkie's head, her cheek resting right on top of his heart, her breath washing over his body. Her eyes rolled underneath her eyelids, meaning she was dreaming. Her forearms tightened around his waist as she let out a light-hearted moan.
He glanced at the clock on the wall. It was morning. He chuckled to himself about how he and Pinkie had managed to sleep through the rest of the day and into the night.
Suddenly, Mrs. Cake's words echoed in his mind.
"Really, It's alright."
"It's about time she grew up."
It had totally slipped her mind when he and Pinkie were talking before he had his nap. How would Pinkie even respond to this?
He couldn't keep this secret forever, and they couldn't keep this secret from her friends forever. What was there to lose? The worst possible scenario was probably her friends not trusting him, but there were plenty of reasons why that wasn't true. Plus, her guardians trusted him fully.
"Mmmmm." Pinkie mumbled as her eyes slowly opened.
"'Morning." Cheese said.
"Good morning." Pinkie replied. She looked up and gave Cheese a short kiss on the lips.
"How come you always taste like candy?" He asked, after licking his lips.
"I dunno, I just do!" She giggled.
"Are you hungry?" She asked.
"I guess," He said. "I don't recall eating since that party in Manehatten. Well, if you don't count eating some of you." He joked.
"Right." Pinkie smirked and rolled her eyes. "I'll make pancakes!" She jumped off the bed and raced towards downstairs.
"Wait! Pinkie!" Cheese called as he got off of the bed too.
"What?" She asked, racing back.
"I need to tell you something before you go." Cheese said.
"Sure, what is it?" Pinkie asked.
"Um, well," Cheese rubbed his foreleg with the other. "Mrs. Cake kind of, knows."
"W-what?" Pinkie's ears folding back. "You told her?!"
"No, of course not!" Cheese responded. "She's known since it happened. She probably didn't know it was me until I took you upstairs, though."
"What does she think about it?" Pinkie asked, her pupils shrinking.
"She says it's completely fine." Cheese said as he closed his eyes.
"She did?" Pinkie asked.
"Yeah, she even said it was about time you grew up." Cheese chuckled. Pinkie couldn't help laugh at that.
"Really?" She asked.
"Yeah, no joke!" Cheese responded.
"....wow... I never thought they'd understand...." She said, suddenly being quiet.
"It was about time you grew up, just like she said!" Cheese added.
"I guess so...." She said as they walked down the stairs side by side.
"I just hope my friends understand..." She said.
"When do you plan to do that?" Cheese asked.
"I dunno, but not yet." She said. "Mrs. and Mr. Cake was a good start."
"Alrighty, whatever you say." He said.

After serving her final customer on her shift, she hoped up the stairs to her room.
She found Cheese sitting on her bed.
"Hi....?" Pinkie asked.
"Hey, I was wondering if I could asked you something." He said.
"Yeah, sure," She answered.
"Well, you don't have to work tomorrow, soo, wanted to ask if you wanted to go on a date... with me?" He asked.
Pinkie leaped from the top of the stairs and onto her bed. She knocked Cheese over, making him do backwards summersaults while she did front summersaults on top of him. They landed with Cheese on the bottom and Pinkie on the top. Cheese quit his squirming as Pinkie pressed her lips against his.
"YES!!!" She shouted as she broke the short kiss.
"Good to......know...!" He wheezed. Pinkie took a quick look at the position they were in. The pink pony's back legs were folded in on his stomach, where all her body weight was going. Her forelegs pressed against his chest in sheer joy, not knowing that they might cut off Cheese's airway, and maybe break a little bit of his ribcage as well.
"Oh, uh, heheheheh!" She giggled apologetically and slowly slid off of the other party pony. He sat up and smiled.
"Where do you want it to happen?" He asked.
"Hmmmm..." Pinkie hummed as she tapped her chin, deep in thought.
"What if we had a picnic?" He asked. "Tomorrow?"
"That sounds great!" Pinkie beamed. "Where, though?"
"I'll show you tomorrow." He said.
"Okie dokie!" Pinkie said as she threw her head on her pillow beside Cheese. The stallion laid back down beside her and planted a kiss on her forehead. A light tint of red appeared on her cheeks.
".......I love you." Pinkie said calmly after a short silence.
"I love you too." He responded.
They both sighed as Cheese pulled Pinkie closer by a hug.

"Pinkie, do you want the leftover cupca-" Cup Cake cut herself off. The scene laid out before her was undoubtedly the second cutest thing next to Pound and Pumpkin, after being born, in the world.
The couple laid asleep beside each other. Being a generally small mare, plus him being taller, her head snuggled right under his chin, on his chest. His muzzle pushed in her mane, probably breathing in the sweet aroma that somehow always came from her mane.
"I muv ooo..." Pinkie sighed into his fur. Cheese moaned in return.
"I'll leave you two be...." Mrs. Cake whispered to who she knew was only her listening.
