What a wonderful night... Cold Melody thought.
...Ok, let's get back to work
3:00 AM
That night the bar was empty. Nopony was nearby the bar, nor inside. The jukebox has been playing the same song all night. And the smell was awful.
But with nothing better to do, Cold just stayed in the bar all night, alone... well, there was a young mare wasting her life sitted in a corner of the bar. Cold wasn't in the mood to talk to her, not that he wanted to talk to somepony. He passed all night cleaning the plates and the jars. Everypony left for home before him...
Stupid Vinyl...
Cold just wanted to go home, maybe drink some Podka, wash himself, and go to sleep... or just have another non-sleep night. It also worked for him...
5:00 AM
The mare was in the same place, the smell was the same, the song was the same and Cold was the same. Nothing had changed in that two hours. Cold was trying to concentrate in his magazine, but he just wasn't able to do it.
Now that you're saying it... there's somepony out in the window...
What? Oh yes, the plot! Where was I? Yea, the pony out of the window. It was a normal pony, just like every other single pony that Cold had meet. But something wasn't right... actually, no, the entire pony wasn't normal! This pony was lurking in the shadows... it was like a secret agent of some sort... Cold called him, but the Pony looked up and started trotting towards an alley.
Huh... weird
6:00 AM
Same mare, same smell, same song.
Cold moved towards the jukebox, and kicked it. The jukebox stopped the music. But before could even get back to his spot, a black car stopped in the front alley. Some stallions walked off the car and walked into the alley.
Silence...
And then...
Cold saw a bright light, and then a whistle, a high pitched whistle. He recognized this... a gunshot. Cold searched for something that worked as a weapon. He found a corkscrew.
This should work... I hope
The street was hot as hell, as Cold walked forwards into the alley...
Pain in the chest...
That was everything that Cold was able to feel...
That was a bad idea...
The bright white celling was unfamiliar to Cold. Unfamiliar, nonetheless warm and comfy... Cold was feeling safe in that place. Even if it was only a product of his imagination, Cold could feel the presence of somepony...
"Cold"
It was a nice, calm voice... it was... no, that didn't make sense! she was... she was...
"Cold"
After the second call, no doubt was left... it was her voice...
Cold waited for a third call, but no sound was heard. The silence felt over Cold's head again. He felt a little shock in his chest, it was the Healt Care System, installed some time ago, when he was still dating Trixie... Anyway, the HCS managed to revive Cold, and after some more time, the glow of that infinite tunnel that Cold was into, started becoming a single room. The glow stopped and...
Again...
...Everything started go dark, and suddendly Cold found himself in a padded room, penumbra all over the place, and, with the feeling that he was being watched, Cold looked around, just to find that there was no exit, more than the bright metal door that was behind him. No light was provided more than the brief moonlight that shined trough the blocked window. The feeling of being watched started to grow significantly.
Now that I think of it... it is a huge padded room...
The HCS started to go wild inside Cold, and after a while, his five senses where on, and ready to anything. Now that they where more active, Cold could see that, behind the bars of the window, it was a huge tree, and an entrance to a shed. Cold started to hear something, but he didn't want to hear what he was guessing he was going to heard, so he kind of blocked his mind to all this. After some practice, Cold finally could stand, in two legs but, hey, it's better than being in the floor, no?
*schit* Well...
Cold walked slowly towards the door.
Dang'... locked.
He turned around and walked towards the window. The sight out of the window was calming, just a lot of trees, grass, a little red shed and, in the distance, the train station... wait, the train station? If I remember right, Vinyl's bar was in the middle of Manehatten... how the hay did I get here? No, more important, what is this place?
The mental shield that Cold had a minute ago, suddendly broke. He could hear screams... not pleasant screams (Do pleasant screams even exist?), suffering, and ear destroying screams.
"Who's there!? S-Show yourself!"
Silence
"I really doubt that "
What the--!?
Oh no, try to not scream my dear, it would be bad for your heart!
Cold almost blacked out because of the voice. It wasn't a microphone voice, nor something that was inside the room, no, it wasn't anywhere near Cold. It was inside his head.
In that minute Cold wanted really badly to stand and scream, or maybe run, but something was holding him into his chair, and something was holding his mouth. He was trapped. He tried to broke the shackles, but everytime he tried to cut the shackles, the shackles pressed harder aggainst Cold's fur and coat. After a while, Cold felt the blood running down his front hooves, and the chills running down his spine. He tried to cry, but nothing came out of his eyes. He tried to scream, but the thing that was holding his mouth was definitively something hard to break. After some hours, Cold started to accept his inevitable faith, and just stayed in his chair, trying to relax. The starvation and dehidratation was innevitable. He just closed his eyes, and tried to fall asleep. But nothing happened. Cold just stayed with his eyes closed.
Is that it?
Cold stayed in silence as he heard the voice talking to him. He knew that the voice wasn't real. He just wanted to sleep.
Are thou just going to stay there? Hm, I tought I was implanted in somepony more interesting and intelligent...
Wait... Cold opened his eyes quickly, Did you just said "implanted" ?
Why, yes, I just said implanted.
By who? And more important, why?
Well, certainly I can tell you why, but not who. You see, there's a little defect that a 0.5 percent of pony population are born with it, and you're one of that 0,5 of ponies. I'm a... chip, you can call it. But I'm a different kind of chip, I'm a--
Ok, you know what? I don't really care if somepony got into my head and installed some horsecrap in my brain, I really didn't use it that much if I must tell you. But, where am I?
Oh... well, you're in the Mount Manessive Asylum, in Lake County, Neighlado, and property of one of the most known medical companies, the Marekoff Corporation, well known by--
Just... Shut up...if I'm going to die in here by starvation, I will really prefer to die in silence.
But Marekoff's commercial story is--
Wait... do you hear that? It kinda... It kinda sounds like an alarm of some sort...
*rumble rumble*
!!!
