chapter 1

Cole was walking in the lush colorful forest of the approaching fall in Virginia behind his dad, the sun's light bounced of his blond hair and his white skin and stung his hazel eyes, Cole easily towered over his dad at age 16, his dad only stood at 5.0 ft while He stood at 5.7ft.
He and his dad always went backpacking the week before school returned. They where just walking along back to the car which was about a days walk away. Cole was dressed in a very dark grey T-shirt ,a dark green hoodie, blue jeans, and running shoes. On his back he carried, camping equipment (single tent, sleeping bag, flashlight, a pot, a pan, a spatula and silver were), hunting supplies (compound bow, hunting arrows (90), and a 10 inch long survival knife.), freeze dried food, canteen of water, clothing for a week, smartphone, iPod, chargers, a solar powered charging station, a camp guitar and a notebook with a pencil (for random ideas).

The two said nothing as they walked in the crisp fresh air that surrounded them. Cole felt a downwards tug on his sleeve like a child trying to get its mother's attention. He looked down only to see nothing there. Next his legs felt heavy as if someone had replaced his feet with anvils and then the feeling went as quickly as it arrived. Then something pushed him from behind sending him forwards towards his dad bumping into him.

Cole ricocheted of his dad and started falling towards the ground. He closed his eyes as the air rushed past his ears there was a deep *WUB* and Cole bounced off something that was obviously not the ground but just as hard, there was a by a sharp *gasp* of something be hind him, before hitting the ground on his chest along with shattering glass.

The first thing Cole noticed was the ground, it was not dirt mixed with wood , it was a perfectly cleaned cobble stone pathway. Pushing himself up ignoring his now aching arm bones he noticed beautiful white castle walls with windows with purple and gold frames.
In front of him was a small set of stairs leading up to a set of large doors with the same gold an purple frame design as the windows.

"Sister, what is this creature that stands before us?" The mare giggles before saying "Oh, your covered in tea Tia." a young voice said from behind him

Cole spun around to see he was in the middle of the most beautiful courtyard he had ever seen and he was standing on a giant circle of cobble in the center of the yard. there where three paths in total. One going left and the other right going to more doors and of coarse the one behind him. in front of him was a garden with 2 alicorns in front of it one had a white coat with a picture golden sun on her flank with her rainbow mane was flowing from an unseen wind or at least part of it was, she was covered in tea and obviously mad and surprised.

The other had a coat as blue as a moon lit sky a picture of a moon on her flank, a dark and light blue mane, much like her sisters flowed with an unseen wind, it also looked like there where stars twinkling in her mane. "Hello strange creature! My name is Luna Princess of the moon! she said rather loud but not quite enough to hurt his ears. "and this is my sister Celestia Princess of the sun!" Luna yelled again waving a hoof towards her sister.

Cole looked over at Celestia and said "Hi"
in his mind he was flipping out 'Where the hell am I?... Hi? that's all I can think of to say? good lord I am an moron!'

Celestia took a deep breath and said "Guards! Capture this creature for study at once!"

From the left and the right of him came the cry of deep voiced guards in unison "Yes Princess" they said, Cole looked left as a spear from the right whizzed by his face cutting his cheek and drawing blood.
He quickly turned around and fled down the path he woke up in front of with a strange surge of strength and speed.

Luna's horn stopped glowing as the spell she preformed was done, giving the creature a fair advantage over the guards for a bit would be fun to watch and to keep Tia from locking it in a cage for the rest of its natural life from her anger.

Cole flung open the door as another spear came flying by and sunk into the wood frame right above his head. Cole ran as fast as he could cursing so much a sailor would be offended by his language. Then it dawned on him ' How am I running this fast? I shouldn't be able to run far let alone sprint like this.' he thought to himself as he ran down the beautifully lit hallways.
He would of have stopped to admire the architecture if he want so focused on running away. Cole rounded another corner and saw what looked like a front door with four more guards blocking his way. One was flying, two had spears pointed at him in what looked like a telekinesis grasp of magic and one just stood there obviously new to the force and completely overwhelmed at the days events and the fact of an unknown creature that was coming right at him.

Cole took advantage of the situation, the unicorn guards threw there spears at him, with a bit of luck he caught one as the other ripped threw his other cheek drawing more blood but not deep enough to make a hole. He turned the spear around so the tip was facing the scared guard who freaked out and dogged him as he came running past. The Pegasus guard started to dive at Cole but received the butt of a spear to the chest and sent him and the spear to the ground.

Cole pulled the large doors open quickly to be met with the evening sunlight and more guards. they had obviously had not received orders about him yet because they let him by with a few strange looks. In no time he had made it out of the castle gates into the city when there was a shout from behind him "stop that creature!" it yelled. Cole had no time to look back to see who it was.
He was too busy making his way towards the train station by the way of pointing wooden signs. ' Escape, that all I need to do, escape' he thought to himself as the smoke of the train rose in the distance.

When he got there the train was starting to pull away from the station it looked as if part of it was made of candy ' all aboard' he thought as he ran after the caboose. He grabbed the rail on the car and jumped on, that's when he realized all the way he had been running the ponies where ether screaming in terror or running away from the sight of him.'They all think I am some kind of monster...damn.' He rode until it came to its first stop. 'Welcome To Ponyville' the Sign said.

When Cole left the train he quickly looked around and saw the tops of trees from a forest near the edge of the small town 'I bet loose these ponies in there' He started to run through the town. The road was made of stone bricks, The houses looked like back in the ye old days with thatched roofs and visible wooden beams.

He heard a thick country accented voice say "Twilight its over here! " out of nowhere an orange pony with blond hair a cowboy hat and a mark of three apples appeared in front of him.

She seamed to be holding a lasso in her mouth and was spinning it quickly.
With a bright flash a lavender unicorn with Dark indigo mane with pink and purple stripes through it appeared, a star shaped pattern on her flank.
She was levitating a book in front of her flipping the pages like a mad man until she found what she was looking for "Watch out Applejack it says here that they are smart and cunning." Twilight said.

Applejack smiled and said "don't you worry nothing sugercube a critter is a critter no mater what." and with that she had fling the rope as Cole came near.
'I need that book' He thought to himself as he saw the rope coming. Quickly he unsheathed his knife and got ready coming to a full stop. he put is hands in the air and the rope went around and tightened at his chest. In one fluid motion Cole cut the rope leaving the lasso to fall apart.
He started sprinting again, as he passed twilight he grabbed the book from the air and cradled it like a football. He ran straight to the forest passing some very surprised ponies on the way there.

He ran right past a shack that was surrounded by wild life and a small yellow Pegasus with a pink mane and three butterfly as a mark on her flank, she did a small "eep!' as he passed.

He ran right into the forest, found a hole in the ground beneath a tree and collapsed from being tired.

"Fluttershy! Let us in!" Twilight yelled at the yellow pony's front door, the shack was a large short tree that had been carved into, with a white picket fence out front.
"I got her" said a cyan colored, Rainbow maned, mark of a cloud with rainbow lightning, Pegasus said
"Are you sure you got her Rainbow dash darling?" a white colored purple maned unicorn with three diamonds as a mark on her flank asked.
"of course she does Rarity" a competently pink pony with three balloons on her flank. said Her mane witch is poofey as hell was only only a couple shades darker than the rest of her body. "or my name isn't Pinkie Pie!" Pinkie said with glee.

After much debating and Rainbow seeking in by window. The six sat down inside and Twilight started explaining what the princess wanted them to do.

"I got this letter from the princess earlier this afternoon. She wants to know if this creature that got into Canterlot castle and escaped after causing a mess is dangerous. Apparently there is a spell to track creatures by there blood (holds up a small vial of red liquid.) This is a sample from the spears that hit. The Princesses want us to observe this creature. My book identifies it as a Human we would know more about it but it took the book from me while it was escaping.

We will start tracking it tomorrow in the morning." All the ponies nodded there heads in understatement except Fluttershy's who did a soft wimpier.
"Whats wrong Fluttershy?" Rainbow asked "W-well Its the e--everfree f-forest." she said softly. "We are going to need your expertise of the forest in order to help track it... please?" Twilight asked. "Well... ok... if thats you want.".
The ponies agreed to meet at sunrise the next day to begin the expedition into the forest.
