Unyielding Powersby LAVAHAWK28ChaptersWhat happened?Chapter 2An unexpected powerReady, set, EAT!Chapter 5Chapter 6Chapter 7Chapter 8Chapter 9Chapter 10The EndWhat happened?"Are you sure you want to go through with this?" Celestia asked as she prepared the spell. "You could just use the time laps spell and redo what's been wronged." "I know, but this is my choice and I plan to go through with it. I screwed up last time and I don't want to go through that again." I said dead set on what was planned. "I warn you now you won't have any memory of what's happened except for that time, but it will slowly come back to you as things progress. I ask again, are you sure you want to do this?" Celestia pleaded, but I only grew irritated. "JUST CAST THE SPELL, DAMMIT!!!" I screamed tears streaming down my face out of sorrow. She waved her horn in the air and sent me off. "Good luck, my student." Tia said as she slowly walked away. "Ugh, my head", I said as I sat up in bed. "What happened?" "Twilight hurry he's awake." Someone called, but their voice was so quiet I could barely make out what she said. I could tell the voice was feminine, but why was she whispering? "Really? Great, now we can get some answers from him." From what I gathered the voice came from the person named Twilight. I heard her walk into the room but my eyes were still blurry from waking up so all I could see was blobs of different colors. "Good afternoon sleepy head. I hope you got enough rest because I have some questions for you, and I expect some answers." The purple blob named Twilight said, obviously to me. "Sorry if I did something wrong. But my mind is a bit hazy. Give me a sec to- WOAH!" I yelped as my vision finally came together. I saw the purple blob was a pony and my memories started coming back but quickly left. I slightly remembered that she is important for some reason or another. Meh. "Hello Miss..." "Oh, how rude of me. My name is Twilight Sparkle, what's your name?" the lovely purple unicorn ask me with eager eyes. I saw another pony in the background behind the door like she was hiding. But my attention returned to the smart looking mare next to the bed I laid upon. "My name?" I took a moment but then groaned in frustration which quickly left, "...I can not remember right now but when I do I'll let you know." "Oh, well do you know where you are? Or at least what you were doing before you got here?" her questions were simple but rather hard to answer because of my lousy memory. I hopped out of the bed and instantly had my face get acquainted with the floor. *POW* "ARG, FUCK! That hurt damn it!" my language appeared to have an affect on the two mares in the room because they both gasped and looked at me in shock. "What?" I asked as I looked at them. The yellow pegasus spoke up after a moment of staring. "Um, can you please refrain from saying those kinds of words in my home. I don't like hearing them and neither do the animals." "Animals? I don't see any-" I was cut off mid-sentence by a white foot connecting to my face which sent me back on the ground. "*Gasp* Angel! We don't hurt guests, you know that. Now say your sorry." The pegasus scolded what I took to be a white rabbit. He made some gestures with his paws and ran out the door, completely ignoring the timid mare's order. "It's okay, I think I deserved it for my foul mouth. My answer to your question Miss Sparkle is that I don't know where I am but I do know what I was doing before all this." I explained, "I believe that I was on my way to my new home in Ponyville. Can you possibly show me the way to town. I think there was somepony I was supposed to meet with but I can't seem to remember." Twilight's ears perked up at my last statement and smiled at me. "Oh, you must be Princess Celestia's new student that I heard about. Element Mage if I remember correctly." I suddenly shot to my hooves and ran over to her. "That's it," I stated, "I remember now. The princess sent me to the Golden Oaks Library to see you. *GASP*" I noticed her wings and I bowed when I realized who I was speaking with. "Your highness! Forgive me for my language, and for not realizing who you were. I must look like a foal for not noticing your nobility sooner." She giggled, "Please, I'm the same as everypony else. Don't make such a big deal out of it. Now stand up, let me get a better look at you." I did as she asked and stood. "With all due respect princess, but I don't even remember what I look like. Perhaps I could get a mirror?" I suggested. She then complied and levitated a pony sized mirror towards me. I was a white unicorn with a scarlet mane, a pair of cerulean blue eyes stared back at me with a bright yet knowledgeable expression. I wore a black V-neck T-shirt with what appeared to be a black scaled claw with a metal tip dangling from my neck. I have to say, I look nothing like a student Celestia would have. "Well you certainly aren't what I was expecting. But the princess said you were very good at magic. Is that true?" I returned my attention to her when she asked that. "Yep, I remember everything I need to know now. Maybe you want a demonstration of my abilities?" I asked the purple alicorn. "That would be wonderful." She exclaimed. "Um, Twilight? Maybe we can go outside and do that?" The pink manned pony, who hasn't spoken since earlier, suggested. "Of course Fluttershy. Sorry for forgetting you were there, but your right let's take this outside." Author's Note I suck at writing stories. Honestly I can't believe I decided to start writing this story. Someone send me some feed back please. I wanna know what you guys think in the comments. And if you hate it don't continue reading cause it won't matter if you do. Chapter 2I followed the two mares outside to a field that was secluded from the town upon the horizon. "Okay then, ready for an observation?" Twilight eagerly nodded her head while Fluttershy was reluctant. I nodded back, "You might want to step back." They both did as warned and I got to work. My horn glowed white as snow and the magic I produced started to take effect. I became surrounded in a glow and the magic took form on my back. Within a few seconds a pair of natural looking white wings with black lining on the bone appeared. Twilight looked stunned and Fluttershy hid behind her. I opened my eyes and gave my wings a few flaps. "Oh my gosh, I've never seen such natural looking wings made from magic. How did you do it?" Twi asked as she circled me. I decided not to answer her but instead smirked and took to the skies. I did a few flips before landing on a cloud, "You've got questions, I've got answers. Catch me and I'll talk." I taunted her a little. 'Let's see if she'll take the bait.' I thought. She then flew up, the hunger for knowledge deep in her eyes, fueling her to have her questions answered. I took off and landed on a cloud farther away as she reached the first one. She got a determined look in her eye and gave chase as I started to play her ignorance by staying away from her. I then began to play a game of tag with her by flying out into the distance. "Get back here! Stop running!" She yelled from the distance between us. I laughed playfully as I flipped onto my back, flew backwards and waved nonchalantly while sticking out my tongue. "Grrrrrr, I'll get you for that." she growled under her breath and began to pick up speed. I turned myself over and kept going, as I did I could see what the princess told me was the place I'll be staying. 'My pet and things should be there by now.' I thought to myself, and flew down to land. My wings shattered into magic dust as I made my way to the front door of my new home. Twilight and I both yelped when she forgot how to stop and ended up using me as a landing cushion. I forgot she was following me. I groaned and managed to crawl from under her and helped her up. "Thanks. I'm sorry, I keep forgetting I don't know how to land." she gave an embarrassed chuckle as she said that. "It's alright, I forgot you were following me," I admitted. "I have to check on a few things inside my new place. Do you mind waiting out here?" "I would have hoped you'd invite me inside. You know, after that whole chasing you thing. But I will wait if you don't want me in your home." she looked away, a bit of a frown on her face. I sighed and opened the door to offer her in. She smiled again and gladly trotted through the door. The outside was made of simple brick and tile. The interior however was breathtaking, with shag carpeting made of sheep wool. The walls and ceiling were painted white and a golden chandelier hung from above. Black faux leather furniture sat around the room, surrounding a fireplace at the far end of the room which was lit and a black furry creature was curled up on a rug beside it, napping. The creature stirred and looked up, it's cerulean eyes catching mine and it rushed to meet me. It then spotted Twilight opened it's insect-like wings, hissed, and went on the defensive. Twilight yelped in fear and hid behind me. "Charles, no! We have a guest and I expect you to behave. Now stop scaring my new friend and go back to your nap right now mister!" I scolded the beast with a look of anger. Charles did as told and went back to lying on the rug, but instead of napping he kept an eye on the new face in the house. "I apologize for not warning you first. But when you have a pet like Charles you tend to forget who they like." Twilight peeked out from behind me and said, "It looks like a changeling. Why do you have a changeling for a pet?! That's dangerous!" I gave her a skeptical look and explained, "He may look and have the abilities of one, but I assure you he is not one of those monsters. Charley, change into a puppy and stop being rude to our guest." the creature did as told and changed into an adorable beagle pup. He then got up and calmly walked up to Twilight. She was skeptical at first but held out her hoof for Charles to sniff. He got in a few whiffs and started to wag his tail as he smiled. He nuzzled her leg and barked happily. Twilight awed and petted the once scary puppy. "See, he's not so bad once you get to know him." I said. A knock came to the door and I went to answer it. Once I opened the door I came face to face with a pink earth pony and a cyan pegasus. "See Dashy, I told you there was a new pony in town. I told you, I told you, I told you." The pink one said to the rainbow mane colored mare. "Alright, alright. But that doesn't explain the pegasus Twi was chasing earlier. This guy's a unicorn." said the one called 'Dashy', which probably is just a nickname. "I can explain. That was me, if you want to know the details then you can ask your friend inside." I said as I opened the door wider for them to enter. The both of them gave me a weird look, but entered the house anyway. I shut the door and walked into another room. Later that day I spent an hour or two in my new study. Looking over a few potions and books Celestia sent over from Canterlot. I trotted into the living room where I saw Twilight siting in a chair reading a book of her own, Charley curled between her fore hooves. 'Dashy' was there as well and seemed a little bored and somewhat impatient, but I couldn't find any sign of the pink mare anywhere. 'I didn't think they'd still be here.' I thought to myself as Charles noticed me. He jumped away from Twilight, walked over and nuzzled my right foreleg. Twilight glanced up from her book and grinned at my presence. The rainbow haired mare spoke up as I entered further, "Finally. I've been waiting for, like, two hours hoping to know how you got those wings." "It's just a flight spell. Really simple if you ask me." I explained. Twilight looked at me like I was crazy and said, "The last time I tried a flight spell it took all my abilities, and they were extremely fragile. I could never have made authentic wings like yours." "Well then I guess you'll have to practice that spell some more cause that's how mine are so realistic. What did you make yours out of? Gossamer and morning dew?" She gave a nervous laugh, "Yes." I face-hoofed, "But remember it did take a lot of magic to make them, so you could say they were beginner level wings." she said while scratching the back of her neck. "Okay, now that that's out of the way I want to know how good you are at flying. How about a race?" said the cyan mare. "How about you introduce yourself first before challenging somepony you just met? I find it quite ridiculous not knowing who you are." I quoted to the still unknown-to-me filly. "You mean you haven't heard of me!? Rainbow Dash!? The fastest flyer in equestria, and only pegasus ever to perform the Sonic Rainboom!?" she said in a flabbergasted yet bragging tone. "How do you not know me!? "Ohhhh, your the one who's said to have the ability to break the sound barrier and color light spectrum at the same time. That makes sense." I said and then thought, 'Fuck, does she always brag about herself like that?' I spoke again, "I graciously accept your challenge Miss Dash. But what say we wait 'til after lunch? My treat." The two mares looked at each other and nodded. Twilight then turned back to me, "We would love to take you up on your offer Mr. Mage. Where should we go?" Twilight asked politely. "You may decide where we shall dine. Your brilliant mind must know of some place good to eat." I complemented causing her to blush slightly. "Okay then, let's go." she said her blush still occupying her face. She then led me and Rainbow outside. "Follow me. I know just where to go." Author's Note If your still reading this story it means you either have nothing to do or you're actually interested in it. And in case your wondering why the chapter doesn't have a title, it because I didn't care enough to put one. If you have an idea for a title to the chapter then leave it in the comments or something, I don't care. Also if you've gone this far into the story I thank you for ignoring the authors note I put in the last chapter and I promise things will get better by chapter 5, maybe. An unexpected powerTrotting down the road, following behind Twilight, Rainbow Dash seemed to be sizing me up. It became annoying having her so close to my body that I had to say something, "You're a little too close. Not that I don't like you, but do you mind giving me some space?" I said in an annoyed tone. "Oh! Sorry, my bad. Just wondering what makes you tick." she said. I turned to her, "Well you can find out once we get a table and I tell you. Or did you forget already that I'm buying you and Miss Twilight lunch?" I asked, bored. She rolled her eyes at me and kept walking. Throughout the silence I conjured a book to read as we walked, the title was: Pyro Philosophy - The Many Ways to Bend Fire to Your Will. Twilight was obviously curious as to why I was reading such a book, because she slowed herself to my pace and began reading alongside me. I looked over and was surprised when she asked, "Why are you reading about Pyrokinesis? A bit of a strange choice if you ask me." "Well, no offence, but I didn't ask you. Also, I am researching it as my next subject to master for the Princess. I'm actually on the verge of completion. I just need a bit more time." I explained as we walked. Rainbow scoffed at my explanation and started to ignore me. Twilight, however, was still reading the book. "If you want I can loan you a copy from the library at my house." I offered and her ears perked up. "You have a library in your own home? That sounds interesting. Mind if I take a look later today?" she asked, "I live in a library and just want to see yours." she stated. I nodded and teleported the book away. I looked into her eyes and saw the hunger for knowledge that I had seen earlier and heard so much about from Celestia. I then turned to a building that was standing in front of our group. "Is this where you wish to have lunch?" I questioned and Twi nodded, "Well then let's go." It was a simple little café in the middle of town. I had not noticed until now that other ponies were staring at me. Questionable looks from everypony told me that I was new to the residence. 'I knew I looked a bit strange, but this is ridiculous. Why are they all staring at me?' Suddenly, a pink blur made its existence known by smashing into my left side and pinning me to the ground. I let out a pained 'oof' and could no longer move my being. I then opened my eyes which had closed upon impact and saw two judging eyes of a cheerful blue color. Staring angrily down at me was the pink mare from earlier. "Hello, what's your name?" I had asked my attacker who then had a beaming smile on her face. "Hi, I'm Pinkie Pie. You seem nice so I guess me hurting you was a bit uncalled for." she said still beaming with happiness. She then shouted, "It's okay everypony! He's not a threat!" The other ponies then went back to their business and about their day. Twilight held out a lavender hoof and looked as if she had done something wrong. I took her hoof and she helped me off the ground. "I sorry about Pinkie. She can get out of hoof at times. I should have warned you." She looked downcast, I had to say something. "Everything's alright, it wasn't your fault. In fact, I'll let you browse through my library later and you can take any books you want." The idea was apparently very appealing to her and she looked ecstatic. All of a sudden, she hugged me. Right in the middle of the road. I was shocked to say the least, but then she pulled away, blushing furiously. "I'm going on a limb here and guessing you've never hugged a stallion before." she nodded, not meeting my gaze. 'I have to admit, she is pretty cute.' I thought. 'Maybe she wouldn't mind if I asked her out sometime later in the week.' I was ripped from my thoughts by Rainbow Dash who had cleared her throat. I then returned my attention to the building in front of us and opened the door for the girls to enter. With our new edition, Pinkie Pie. Our group had gotten a table and we started to chat idly with each other. Twilight thought she would be funny by testing my knowledge, so she and I engaged in a game of wits. Throwing question after question to each other until she conceded defeat. "Wow," she said stunned, "I didn't think anyone was as smart as me. Or as quick to answer a question." "That only proves my case as to being one of Celestia's top students." I stated proudly, "I know a whole lot more than that by the way." Rainbow Dash then cleared her throat, catching our attention, "Okay, so we know your smart. But there's still a question that I need answered." "Ok", I said, "shoot." "Can you beat me in an eating contest?" she challenged. We sat there in silence, both staring at each other as if to read the others mind. In which I actually did. 'Let's see if his physical body is as good as his mind.' she thought to herself. 'If he accepts, then I'll get to show him up.' "Well if that's your only reason, why bother challenging me?" I said, surprising her. "What do you mean?" she asked liked she didn't know what I was talking about. "Oh don't play dumb with me Dash. If you want to see if you can show me up, then bring it on." I said in a cocky tone. She looked at me like I was crazy. Until Twilight spoke up that is. "Wait a minute! Did you read her mind?" she questioned profusely, to which I nodded. "Okay, I'll believe you if you can tell me what I'm thinking right now." I looked to her and said simply, "That's a good question. Why would somepony make up a device like that? What is the purpose of a machine such as that?" I asked sharing her curiosity. She just looked at me in awe. "Okay, I don't care if you can read minds. Are you going to accept my eating challenge or not?" I then proceeded to fold my forelegs across my chest, squinted my eyes, and said. "Challenge accepted." Ready, set, EAT!"Yo waiter," I called out, "I'd like to order now." "You are so on." said the competitive Rainbow Dash. We had moved our competition to another table next to where Twilight and Pinkie were seated. The sun shone through the window next to us and set the mood just right. The cyan mare was smiling confidently as if she already won. I sat across from her wearing a smirk of my own. "Yes, sir?" the stallion asked politely, "What can I get for you today?" "We'll take seven hayburgers, five salads, three plates of hayfries, and two large glasses of water." I said not taking my eyes off the mare opposite of me. "The two at the other table are with us so put all of it on one bill." The stallion looked stunned but took the order anyway. He then moved over to Pinkie and Twi to write down their order. The food came out rather quickly and we looked to Pinkie who was our judge. "Ready!" she started, "Set!" there was a pause an eerie silence as we prepared. Dash fluttered her wings a bit and I cracked my neck to both sides. *CRACK* went my neck as I turned it to the right. *CRACK* *CRACK* It went again as I turned it to the left. Pinkie looked at Rainbow Dash, then to me, and then back to Dash. She rose her right foreleg into the air and waited a moment. The moment seemed to drag on as me and Rainbow stared each other down. Until finally Pinkie shouted "GO!" Dash quickly grabbed a hoof full of fries and devoured them as I scarfed down two of the burgers and took a gulp of water. The cyan coated pegasus then wolfed down three salads at once and then grabbed one of the burgers. I forced all the fries that were on one plate down my throat and gagged a little as I did. I sucked down some more water and proceeded to devour the rest of the two salads. Rainbow Dash ate two more burgers as I forced down another plate of fries with the help of my water to wash them down. Dash scarfed down the rest of her hayfries and I devoured the last two hayburgers. We both downed the rest of our glasses of water and let out a simultaneous sigh of refreshment. Twilight sat at her seat baffled by what she just saw happen. Pinkie walked over and began her judging. "Rainbow Dash has eaten three of the seven hayburgers while Element ate four. Element ate two salads and Rainbow ate three. Dash had eaten one plate of hayfries and Mage scarfed down two. Element Mage wins the eat off." Pinkie Pie said raising my right forehoof into the air. Twilight started to clap her hooves together at my accomplishment. Rainbow looked at me in disbelief but then stuck out a hoof for me to shake which I gladly took. "Nice work," she congratulated, "No ones ever been able to eat faster than me or more than me before." "Well I do try my best during a challenge. But you did good as well." I said trying not to sound boastful. I started to stack the plates on the table using my magic and made a neat little pile of the used food platters. We both went back to the table Twi and Pinkie were at and waited for them to finish eating. It didn't take long as Twilight finished a daisy sandwich and Pinkie scarfed down a bowl of different flavored ice-cream. The waiter came back with the bill and I looked it over. "Huh, not too bad." I said nonchalantly as Twilight looked at the bill over my shoulder. "Not too bad!? That's 87 bits! What do you mean not too bad!?" she screamed into my right ear. "I mean it's not as bad as dining in Canterlot." I explained, "Geez don't be such a worry wart. I'm buying remember?" "Still I should pay for my part of the bill." she tried to reason. "Nonsense. I said I would pay for our lunch and I'm going to pay for our lunch. Besides it's not so bad. I got this." I grabbed the bill in my magic and went to the front. I opened my saddlebag and pulled out the amount I owed. After the transaction I trotted back to our table and place a 25% tip. Afterwards I proceeded to leave with my new friends in tow. "Okay, now you've got me curious." Twilight said, "How did you manage to pay for all of our food and leave a large tip like that?" "I took on a lot of odd jobs back in the city. And with the ability to duplicate myself it was rather easy performing them all at once. That's how I had all that money." I stated matter-of-factly. Twilight stopped in her tracks. "You can duplicate yourself at will?! I've never heard of a unicorn who has that ability." "It's not that big of a deal. I've been doing that since..." I stopped to think, "uh, let's see... no it was before that, and that. Let's just say I've known how to duplicate for awhile now." "Awhile! The only other unicorn to ever figure out how to split into two ended up dead because his clone thought he was the original! Even Pinkie Pie did that but her clones were so into having fun none of them thought differently from it. It took hours to figure out which Pinkie was which!" "Well it seems Miss Pie found the Mirapond to me. Those types of clones only want to fulfill the desire of what the original wanted to do." I then looked down at the black faux leather strapped watch I'd been wearing. "Oh shit, I gotta go. Perhaps we could continue this conversation later. There is something important I must attend to." With that I teleported in a flash of silvery light and left. My new friends utterly confused. "Okay, now that he's gone let's talk about how cute he was." stated Pinkie Pie, causing the other two to blush from embarrassment. "Pinkie Pie!" Rainbow Dash started, "Not in the middle of town. Let's go into Sugar Cube Corner to discuss that." "Great idea Dashy. You coming Twilight?" Pinkie questioned. "No thanks." she said all too quickly, blushing even more at the question. "I have something to go take care of actually. See you girls later." With that Twilight galloped off in a seemingly random direction. "She soooo has a crush on Element Mage." the pink pony stated getting a nod of agreement from her rainbow haired friend. Chapter 5Author's Note Okay enough fooling around, time to get serious. I said I would post this chapter next week but then I said 'screw it, it's 11:40 at night and I've got nothing better to do', so here is the next chapter early and I hope you fucktards at least find it more interesting. Also I'm going to be switching POV's from the main character to the other characters from now on so don't be confused if your suddenly Pinkie Pie or something. Chapter 5 Point of view: Twilight After the randomness that is Pinkie Pie and the abruptness of Rainbow Dash I decided to take a walk around town so that I could clear my head a bit from the events that have happened with Element Mage. It's been about twenty minutes and I now find myself in the local park. The calming scenery doing wonders for my head and the cool breeze that flows beneath my wings as I spread them lowering my body temperature sufficiently. I breath in the fresh summer air and let out a very content sigh. My moment of peace was a bit disrupted as a flash of light suddenly goes off to my right behind a tree. I proceeded to investigate and to my surprise it was Element. He seemed to be talking to himself however so I stayed quiet and decided to listen in. "Your an idiot", I heard him start, "Celestia told you to not show off and what did you do?! Just that. You were weak, flaunting your skills in front of those mares like that. I can't even look at myself because of your mistake." He then counteracted, "I can't help if I'm an idiot. And I know what Tia said, didn't you hear her when she was scolding me. And I know I should hide my power but I can't help it if I like to show off now and again. Though I probably should have just sent Twilight and her friends home and stayed in the library to study. I didn't even complement her on her feats. I just took all the glory like that showboat Trixie." I felt the conversation was getting heated by the way he talked about Trixie, so I listened more intently. "You said you'd never talk about her again. remember what she did to you? How she broke your heart?! Do you even remember the reason why you started taking lessons from Celestia?! 'Cause I do. And if think for a second that I don't feel the least bit bad about it then you're dead wrong." "You're right, I'm sorry. I'll try to contain myself but I need a bit of time to--" He suddenly stopped mid-sentence and began to look around. Was something going to happen? Does he have a sixth sense like the one Pinkie has? He then stood from his seated position on the ground and took on a defensive stance. "Who's there? Come out, I can sense your presence." Feeling I had been caught I began to move, but stopped as something began to move in the shadows of the trees surrounding the small clearing. The shadows took form into a single black mass that was almost bubble-like if it were not constantly billowing like Celestia's mane. "Mr. Mage," the black mass began, "I've heard many a story about you. But I pictured you to be a bit... more." "Sorry to disappoint you, but I'm not in the mood for a fight." Element said, "And even if I was, I don't even know who or what you are, so if I were to fight you I'd first have to gather information on you. And that sounds like a lot of effort right now, so if you will kindly leave me to my rambling and get lost I'd appreciate it." I felt like I should run and tell somepony about this, but I was honestly intrigued by what was going to happen. So I cast an invisibility spell and watched intently. Point of view: Element Geez, can't a guy just beat himself up for twenty minutes? I really didn't want to deal with this right now but I will if I have to. The symbiote-like mass was just floating there, going off about how he can probably beat me in a competition of some skill or another while I just sat down, bored and tired of today. After a few more meaning less words came from the floating blob I finally did something to shut it up. Fast as a speeding leopard I conjured a steel blade infused with some of my magic and darted towards the black mass. I cut a horizontal slash into it's 'body' and used a psychic pulse to send it far into the flora, crashing into a tree. "You bore me", I said flatly and began to trot off, sending the sword back to its original place with my magic, "I'm going home. Maybe I can still waste the rest of the day studying with a few glasses of wine." And with that I was gone in a flash of light. Point of view: Twilight I'm not sure if what I saw was real or imaginary, but Element Mage just killed something right in front of my eyes. It happened so fast I barely had time to think. Where did that broadsword come from? What was the force that sent the creature flying? Why am I still sitting here when I could be asking Element these questions? I finally got up from my sitting position and began galloping in the direction of Element's home. Maybe I can try to get him to open up to me a bit more. It took at least ten or fifteen minutes to get to Element's house. Even so I was exhausted from running so much. I put my hoof against the wall to support myself as I caught my breath, until Element opened the door. "Twilight Sparkle, just the mare I was wanted to see." he said, "You look exhausted come inside before you collapse from a heat-stroke." He didn't have to tell me twice. I slowly trotted through the doorway and made my way towards his sofa, which I proceeded to sit down on. "Let me get you a glass of water, hopefully that will help you cool down." he stated as he trotted to where I guessed was the kitchen. After a few seconds he was back with the promised glass of refreshing liquid in his magic. He placed the cold glass in my hooves and I eagerly drank the contents. After chugging down the entire cup, which was about 16 oz. I let out a refreshed sigh. He then spoke, "My word, tell me did gallop all the way here from where you were." I nodded, not saying anything, "Why didn't you just use your wings and fly. One, it's less work, and two, it saves time." My mouth hung open as I had completely forgotten and then acquainted my hoof with my face. After removing my appendage by sliding it down my muzzle Element looked at me with a knowing smile, "It's okay, I forget most of the time too. So before we discuss why I wanted to see you, why don't you get those questions answered. I'm an open book with good ears to match." This was my opportunity to ask about what happened at the park clearing, but my conscience told me that might aggravate him in some way so I went back to my previous questions from earlier. "I want to know the kind of spells you've learned with the princess. I also want to know how to perform them for myself." I said as I forced the events from earlier into the back of my mind. "Okay then," he started, "let me tell you about my duplication spell first seeing as you were very intrigued by that earlier." I sat forward so I could listen more closely. "You see it's more complicated than you think. You know how to take hold of something in your magic? Well it's like that only you're pulling the thing you're holding apart while simultaneously casting a repair or healing spell of advanced magnitude in order to make it whole again. Thus allowing whatever you are pulling apart to split into two of the same thing without completely destroying it." I never really thought of doing that kind of spell before, or performing more than one at a time. "Wow, it sounds hard, yet easy to cast," I stated, "What else can you tell me?" I asked eager to learn more advanced magic than I already know. "I actually want to know more about you. I've been extremely rude and have only been talking about myself. I want to know what you've learned over the years you've been a tenant in Ponyville." He was clearly finish with the spotlight and directed it right at me. I didn't know what to say. Would he like what I've learned, or would it bore him like the black blob from the park? I guess I just have to be me. Point of view: Element Twilight seemed skeptical about talking more about herself than listening to me instead. But she then got a look of determination and started from the beginning. She talked about how she and her friends defeated Nightmare Moon and rescued Princess Luna. Twilight discussed all her adventures and how she helped her friends learn and grow from their mistakes. I of course gave my two cents whenever she asked about my opinion and she somehow didn't get offended, but agreed with me on a few points. We discussed about our feats of magic as well, and even agreed to teach each other spells one of us knew and the other didn't. This went on until very late in the evening as it was four o' clock when we started and it was now ten at night. Twilight glanced at my old grandfather clock by the wall, "Oh my," she said, "I think I might have overstayed my welcome. I should get going before Spike gets worried." She got up to leave but I stopped her. "Before you go," I started, "why don't you browse my book collection. Maybe you can add a few things to you're library." She lit up and nodded enthusiastically. I used my magic to teleport around twenty or so books for her to choose from. She pointed to the ones she found interesting and had a pile of twelve new tomes to read from. "I'd like to thank you for the new reading material." Twilight said as I lead her outside, "I've been waiting for a new shipment of books from Canterlot, but they haven't sent any yet. I even made the order in person so that Celestia knew I was running out." "You don't have to thank me. Just getting to know more about you is all the thanks I'll need." I said trying to sound modest, "Anyway, It's really late and I don't want you to walk home alone while the moon is up. So I shall escort you home." "You don't have to do that," she said with a blush. "Oh but I must. It is one of the many rules of chivalry which I have been reading up on. Therefore, as a proper gentlecolt, I will not take no for an answer." "You sound like somepony Rarity would love to meet." "Then I shall try and pay her a visit after a bit of magical training in the afternoon tomorrow. But for now, let's get you home." "Okay," we chatted a bit more as we trotted toward the Golden Oaks Library. The trip took around ten minutes and as we approached the front door she spoke again, "I had a good time talking to you today, and I hope we can get together sometime to trade spells and knowledge." "Me too. How about this coming Wednesday we have tea and scones?" "Fancy, and sure I'd like that. How about one in the afternoon?" "Deal. See you then," with that I trotted off back home while she went inside. I opened the door to my house, closed it, locked it for the night, and went to my study. I popped open my book on pyromancy where I left off when it suddenly dawned on me. "I think I just asked her out on a date." I then proceeded to freak out and begin planning for Wednesday even though it was 4 days from now. Point of view: Twilight After Element Mage left I put my new books on my reading desk for later and went upstairs for a shower and a well night of sleep. But as I entered my loft I froze in place. Spike came out of room next to me and saw my frozen state. "Twi, are you okay? You seem kinda pale." he asked probably wondering why I was just standing there. I blinked a few times and finally answered his question after a few seconds. "I think I have a date on Wednesday." Point of view: Pinkie Pie After a whole day of work and party planning it was time to hit the sack. After that it's bedtime. Wait a sec my Pinkie Sense is acting up. "Ooo, someone just asked somepony out on a date without realizing it until now. I wonder who though? Meh I'll find out next chapter right mister author?" Of course Pinkie. Why wouldn't I put you in the next chap?! "YIPPY, I can't wait for next week." Chapter 6POV: Author Wednesday came and Twilight was getting ready for her, *ahem* 'date', with Element Mage and-- "OOH, OOH, hey Mr. Author when am I going to get another scene?" Pinkie, not now. I'm in the middle of narrating. "That can wait. Now answer my question." --------------------------Please Stand By, We're Experiencing Technical Difficulties-------------------------- "And that's how the story will go Pinkie." "Okay then. Thanks for the update Le- I mean Mr. Author." You better keep that mouth in check otherwise... OH SHIT THE READERS ARE BACK!! Ah screw it. POV Twilight. I finally got out of bed and realized that it was already past 10 in the morning. I must have studied pretty hard last night and Spike must have brought me to bed. He's done it so many times he basically gets a workout from it. I went o the restroom, brushed my mane, got some breakfast and as I watched Spike do the dishes I realized that I was to meet Element for tea later. "Oh my, sorry Spike but you're going to have to watch over the library by yourself this afternoon." I said apologetically "That's okay Twi," said Spike, "I don't mind. Especially since you finally have a date. For once." he teased. I blushed furiously, "It's not a date, it is two friends of the opposite gender having tea together in a public place to talk and relax." He just rolled his eyes and looked at me knowingly with a smirk on his face. It was the sort of smile that said 'sure it is'. I then removed myself from the table and walked off with an angry expression on my muzzle. I walked out a little after 12:30 with one of the novels Element gave to me. That is until he crash landed directly in front of me covered in smog and bruises. "*Cough, Cough*, Hey Twi," he said as he got up, you think we can reschedule? I've got some business to take care of." He began to walk off until a giant armored turtle smashed to the ground on it's hind legs. "So that was the great stallion of Canterlot?! HA, you're weaker than the stories say." the creature spoke. "You never gave me a chance to defend myself." Element argued, he then lit his horn and whispered 'Analeyes' or something. POV: Element As I cast my spell it brought up al I needed to know. I then spoke out what I had learned, "M-Type: Shell Bomber, uses large explosives on opponents who it finds too strong for up-close confrontations, heavily armored and armed with many types of dynamite. Threat level:" I then smirked, "4. Not too tough now are you?" "Shut up! After I kill you, my species will be feared throughout the world, and after that we will take over all of the land including Equestria." the short tempered beast shout, revealing his entire plan like an amateur. "Sure you will," I quoted with heavy sarcasm and a hint of eye rolling. "Just remember, it's you're fate. Now let me introduce myself. I am Element Mage, Pony-Type: Unicorn, Student to Princess Celestia, Threat level: 8." The last little statement was said with a glare to my opponent who then was looking skeptical about his choice of a fight. "Th-that's not possible, you can't be that high of a threat unless you earn it." exclaimed the now frightened turtle, "And by the way you look that has to be a lie." "Element!?" looked over and saw Twilight shivering with the worst case of fear on her face. "Stay back." I said calmly and returned my attention to the armored reptile that was twice my own size. "You don't want to get caught in this." I then summoned my broadsword from the other day and took a battle stance while wielding it in front of me with my magic. The Shell Bomber grabbed a pack of TNT and sparked his flint-stone like claws. He lit the fuse and quickly chucked it straight at me. In the split second that I gave him I slashed through the base which caused it to detonate early, but not destroy any buildings, and brought the blade to his throat, me now on my hind legs. The sword was now in my right hoof and my face beside his horrified expression. "I warned you of my TL and yet you had the balls to light that fuse," I whispered threateningly, "Not a smart move on your part." And with that I lopped off his head, brought my left hoof forward and annihilated his corpse with a wave of energy. Through the smoke and haze, I made a quick escape with my teleportation spell and went home to wait for things to die down. The only thing that troubles me is when Twilight comes banging on my door I'll have to answer to her. POV: Twilight I can't believe what I just saw. Element just killed someone, and destroyed any evidence of his existence. All in just a few seconds. My mind can hardly comprehend it. "Twilight!" I heard a voice shout out from above. It was Rainbow Dash, "Are you alright, I saw everything and just wanted to make sure you were okay." "I'm fine Rainbow. I'm just trying to comprehend what just happened. It's not going so well." my voice cracked as my eye twitched a bit. "Omigosh, Twilight!" I was then tackled by a pink blur that went about checking every inch of my body for any bruises or marks. "I'm fine Pinkie Pie. Please let go." she did as requested as someone else ran up to me. "Darling are you okay?!" Rarity screamed as she look me over, "I saw the blast and just knew something was up." "Yes I'm fine. Don't worry." she let out a sigh of relief. "Sweet molasses, I could feel th' shockwave all the way at Sweet Apple Acres." Applejack exclaimed as she arrived on the scene. "What 'appened 'ere?" "Some big fight just broke out between a huge turtle and the new stallion in town." explained Dash, "It didn't last long 'cause the newbie whooped his tail into Tartarus in just a few seconds." "Really? Hah, I'll believe that when I see it." Applejack quoted with sarcasm, "All we really know is that there was an explosion and something caused it." "I'm tellin' the truth! It really happened!" Dash yelled defensively. "Ah'm sure yer eyes were just messin' with ya." "Will you all be quiet so I can think!" I had had enough chatting and now more than ever I wanted information. "We need to go see Element Mage. He's the only one that can explain why this event has unfolded. Now let's stop talking and get to running, 'cause I'm tired of being left in the dark." With that said I galloped off toward Element Mage's house with my friends in tow, ready to barrage him with questions and give him a piece of my mind. 15 Minutes Later, POV: Element I sat upon my couch reading and waiting for Twilight to burst in through the door. *Knock* *Knock* *Knock* Speak of the devil, that must be her now. I approached the door and prepared myself for what was to come. I opened the door and stood shocked at the fact that Twilight was smiling, most of her friends not far behind. This I was not expecting. "Please come in," I said politely, my expression blank, "You probably wish for me to explain myself." I opened the door wider to let in the five mares. I wondered where the yellow one was, as I already knew of the other elements. I think her name was Fluttershy? Whatever, she had her reasons for not being here. Now we enter the setting of Fluttershy's cottage. The birds chirping and the bees buzzing. There's a bear in the back yard now that's something. Inside the humble home, up the stairs and into the secret panic room found under the bed full of food, supplies, and a built-in toilet. A pony could survive an entire month or maybe even two with the amount of stuff inside the bunker. And inside was none other than the adorable yellow pegasus using said bunker for why it was made. To cower and fear inside while being curled up into a ball. "I'm in my happy place. I'm in my happy place. There are no scary noises in here. Nope, not at all. No explosions, no sounds, no nothing. Just me. Oh, and Angel too." she muttered to herself while looking at a very annoyed Angel bunny. Back to Mage "Before I answer all if any questions, I want to know why exactly you are smiling at me." I spoke to Twilight from my place on my chair. "OOH, OOH, I know this one, I know this one." proclaimed an excited Pinkie Pie who just appeared from hammerspace. "Twilight can I tell him, pleasepleaseplease PLEEEEEEEEEEEASSE?" Twilight thought for a moment then gestured for Pinkie to go ahead with a nod. "YIPPY!! Okay so it went like this we were on our way here..." FLASHBACK MOTHERBUCKERS 'Twilight was all mad and grumpy because something had happened that she could not explain the reason for. So, like any normal me would do I tried to make her smile but every time I tried nothing seemed to work so once again I did what any normal me would do. I jump to the panel beside the library where everything took place. I searched around using my detective skills and found the place where Twi was standing and found something interesting. I jump back to the panel from before and told Twilight what had found. She seemed to like what I had done because she started smiling again. and that was when we showed up at you door. FLASHBACK OVER "And you know the rest." Pinkie finished. It baffled me how much of the 4th wall she had broken when she said she jumped the panels, but you already know how much of the wall she can break reader. "I see. Twilight what did she find that made you so happy?" I asked, wanting someone to shed some light on that thought. "Near where I was standing was a pile of shrapnel in a certain pattern. Pinkie said it looked as though a shield was put up, but I had not cast one to defend myself. So I calculated that you had made the barrier in order to protect me as the rest of the pieces flew into different directions and embedded themselves into some of the buildings and abandoned stands from the fight." "I might have, maybe, been a bit worried about your safety," I said looking away from her. "I didn't want to see you get hurt is all." She blushed, appreciative of my actions. "Thank you for that." We stared at each other and had a small moment... until someone spoke up. "I hate to interrupt but does anypony else hear that beeping?" the white element of generosity questioned. BeedoopBeedoop BeedoopBeedoop My eyes widened a bit and my ears perked up. "Well, I'm terribly sorry but we'll have to cut this visit short. Perhaps we can reschedule that get together for some other time Twilight but for now I have to ask you all to leave." "But..." I didn't let her finish as I teleported her and the other mares outside and locked the door. After all that I rushed towards the fireplace and pulled on the glass candle. The fireplace slowly opened revealing a downward stairwell. I descended off to answer the sound, the passage closing behind. I should have known I left that stupid door open down there. Walking through said doorway I located my beeping earpiece. I picked it up and wrapped it around my right ear, pulled down the mic, and pressed the button. "Go for Mage..." POV: Twilight Element had just kicked me out of his house. Now I'm mad. I walked over to one of the windows and peered through. I watched as he opened a secret passage in his fireplace. "Girls, I'm going back in. You all head home and I'll explain later." I stated hoping they would listen. Rarity pouted a bit and stormed off, probably upset about Element's rudeness. Applejack just shrugged and walked back towards her farm. Dash had flown off with Pinkie in pursuit. "Now then, time to see what's really going on." I teleported inside and silently headed for the fireplace. Sorry for the cliffhanger but I'm still working things out at school. Next chapter will probably be out somewhere between now and next month. Again, sorry, but I've got my own shit to do. Chapter 7POV: Twilight I descended down the dark stairwell, to the recesses of Element's hidden passage. Through the humidity and blackness until, finally, I arrived upon a doorway. I could hear the voice of Element Mage coming from the other side, so I listened through a crack left in the doorway. "I don't care how many times you ask me or how important the mission. I refuse to go into the badlands. Unless I am allowed to do things my own way you have two options. One, give me what I want, or two, find someone else to do it. Those are your only options. Call me back when you come to a decision." He then proceeded to slam something down on a desk. I felt I should go inside at that point so I widened the entryway. What I saw left me speechless. I didn't have time to take it all in as something had started to growl behind me. When I turned around I found Charles in the form of a rabid black Orthos. He had scared me with his red piercing eyes and gnashing sharp teeth. I started to slowly back away. That is... until a bag was pulled over my head. Twilight had been knocked unconscious and her body was carried deep into the forest of Everfree. POV: Element Once I had gotten deep enough through the huge mass of trees I stopped and gently slid Twilight's KO'd body to the ground. She began to stir so I hid myself behind a tree and I cast a spell that changed my voice to a deeper version so I would not be recognized. I used an incantation that would project my voice from all throughout the woods so I couldn't be pinpointed in one spot. "Wh-where am I?" she spoke, frightened and confused. "If I didn't know any better I'd say I was in the E-everfree f-f-forest." "You are not wrong, Twilight Sparkle." my voice rang out causing her to yelp and tremble. "Do not fear, for I am a friend. If you were to be harmed, I will see to it you are treated. But for now we have business to discuss." "Who are you? What are you going to do to me?" she asked looking in every direction possible. "I'll warn you now if you don't show yourself I will level this whole patch of trees." "Please. We both know you don't have that kind of magic. Now, unless you drop your uptight guard, we both won't be getting any answers." I stated, starting to get annoyed. She did as told and also sat in the grass. "Good, now then. You probably want to know why you're in the Everfree. Am I correct? "You're not wrong." she spoke, a bit of anger dripping from her words. "You've been brought here to be tested. Not on your knowledge, nor your skill in magic, but your ability to understand what you are not ready to learn about." she seemed to understand what I was getting at as she was getting scared again. "If this is about Element's hidden room, I'm sure we can just forget about it and move on." her voice got higher a she backed into a tree, "I swear I didn't see anything. Please, even if I did, I've already forgotten. Don't hurt me." "Heh, if I had any intentions of harming you, I would have already done so. But you will be searched, deep in the recesses of your mind, and all unneeded memories will be erased. And just so you know, you will remember this moment in time, so you do not forget your place." A spell I had been preparing had been cast and Twilight Sparkle fell unconscious once more. An hour or so past by and Element had erased the unwanted memories from the mind of Twilight Sparkle. He carried her upon his back once more, and was going back to his home in Ponyville. He felt guilty for performing this deed to an innocent mare, so once inside he placed her gently onto his sofa, pulled a blanket over her slumbering figure, and allowed her to sleep. He had to leave her there for the moment as he had other things to attend to. I proceeded to walk amongst my library and found a book I had been wanting to read again. With it in my levitated grasp I went back into the living area. Twilight was still asleep, so I picked up my IPON and made a call. It rang a few times until it was finally answered. "Yo this is Pon-3." said the voice of a well known DJ. "S'up Scratch, Mage calling." "Dude, I haven't heard from you in forever. How's it been? Workin' on anything new?" "Nah, just the same old crud Celestia gives me. Things have been good though, moved out of Canterlot, made some new friends, y'know normal stuff." I spoke casually. "So you finally moved out of that stuck-up city. Where you crashin' now? Manehattan, Fillydelfia? Or are you in Foalrida, maybe Coltifornia?" She sounded like she was trying to gossip about something. "No, I'm actually living in Ponyville now, why?" I probably shouldn't have asked that. "Omigosh, your in Ponyville? Where at?" "A little ways Northeast on the outskirts of town. You coming over for a visit?" "Heck yeah. We've got to catch up on missed times. I'll be there around four. See ya then." I hung up the phone and opened my book of curses and myths. This should keep me here awhile. Later I closed the book after reading the final page and smiled. I still had some time before Vinyl arrived so I read my book on Pyromancy. That is until Twilight woke up with a yawn. She sat up and examined her surroundings, her eyes widened as she realized she wasn't at home. "What happened?! How did I get here?! What's going on?!" the frightened purple unicorn spoke frantically. "Relax," I said trying to calm her nerves, "You're safe. That was some hit you took back there. Are you feeling alright?" "What happened? Oww!" I cast a small pain spell on her cranium, keeping my horn dimly lit in the process, making her wince. She rubbed the spot where I applied said spell. "Why does my head hurt?" "When I went to turn off one of my machines you had teleported inside and hit your head on the mantel of the fireplace. I used a healing charm to make sure you didn't get a concussion or anything too serious." I made up that lie on the fly, (hah, rhymes) I'll keep her in the dark until she's ready to know. "Princess, I don't believe we got to that little arrangement we agreed on. Would you still like to have tea with me?" The question surprised her as she must have forgotten what we were doing that day. She then smiled and nodded. I trotted to the kitchen, turned on the burner with my magic, and placed the kettle filled with the liquid on top. Afterwards I walked calmly back into the other room where Twilight was waiting. Charles somehow snuck into the room undetected and was now in the middle of being cuddled in his little puppy form. Lucky little bastard. *Ding Dong* (Yes, I have a doorbell) I went to answer the door and found a gray pegasus mare with a wall-eyed stare, (I'm a poet and didn't know it) she was wearing a mail-mares cap so I'm guessing she was making a delivery. "Package for Elephant Match. Weird name by the way" "That's because you said it wrong. It's Element Mage." I had to correct her, I don't like it when ponies get my name wrong. But I still picked up the pen with magic and gave her my signature. "Who's the package from anyway?" She narrowed her eye's and glanced at the box. She lifted her head and looked at me with a sad expression. "It doesn't say. I'm sorry about that." "It's fine. Thank you for bringing this to me. Have a nice day." I spoke keeping one of Equestria's best poker faces ever on and my voice having almost no emotion to it. I shut the door and heard the pot whistling and screaming. After taking it off the burner with my magic I noticed Twilight examining Charles very closely. Curious I asked, "Whatcha doing?" "I wanted to know, what does he eat other than love. I never got to examine a changeling before. After Canterlot was attacked during my brother's wedding, I've had a plethora of questions." "Well if you must know..." One boring explanation later "And that's all the information I've gathered while studying Charley. Did you get all that down?" Twilight looked up from the notepad she was scribbling on while sipping at her tea. "Yep, my knowledge of different species has grown ever more. Thanks." She gave a beaming smile and I couldn't help but smile back. "What is it about her that makes me feel like I've been missing something? I'd ask her out but I'm still trying to get over Trixie. Come on that was years ago. You were stupider back then. Now you have another chance, just ask her already. I mentally debated with myself for a minute before I noticed Twilight looking at me strangely. "Is something wrong? You've been really quiet." "Just... contemplating on something." I blushed a bit, but tried hiding it by looking away. It didn't work out as I had hoped since she had a bit of crimson in her cheeks as well and she was shuffling in her seat. "Are you uncomfortable? I can get you a pillow or something." "No, no, it's fine. I was just thinking about *eep." I moved seats and sat next to her, a conjured wing wrapped around her form. Her blush increased in volumes. She looked at me, an expression of shock and disbelief etched on her muzzle. "I hope I'm not being to forward. I just, felt the urge to be next to you. I like to follow my instincts a bit." I said a bit nervous. She shook her head, "N-no i-it's fine. I was actually hoping you would do that." We had a small moment to ourselves, and it felt good being allowed to sit next to her. Then, and by my surprise, she nuzzled into my body and closed her eyes. It was around 7:30. Oh that Vinyl, always late for something. I looked out the window and saw the sun was beginning to set. Without warning Twi, I lit my horn and teleported both of us to a tall hill outside of town facing the sun. She tensed up, her eyes widened, and she seemed afraid. "It's alright. Relax, I had a feeling that the moment could be better. Care to watch Tia's sunset with me?" She looked over to the horizon. The colors of the sky complementing the radiance of the sun, creating a picture that could never be put on a canvas, or captured in a photograph. "Wow, it's beautiful." "Yes you are." I tried talking under my breath but she still ended up hearing me. Twilight gazed towards me, a furious shade of crimson upon her luscious purple coat, "S-say again." "I-I, uh, said you're beautiful." I muttered the last two words and looked away. "Say it again, louder, and look me in the eyes when you do." She sounded like a mother scolding a child. "I said...*gulp*... you're beautiful." I had to swallow my pride and say it, that's all I could think of doing without making her mad. Her blush increased tenfold when I did, and she looked away. I could tell she was thinking, and even though my subconscious forbade me I had to read her mind. Just to know what she was thinking. "He can't be falling for me can he? It seem wrong, but it feels right. I only ever experienced a feeling similar to this with Flash. But this is different. It's... better, somehow. Should I ask him if he truly likes me, or should I consult one of my books? I... I... ohhh. She was really struggling with herself. But at least I knew that she didn't absolutely hate me. "Twilight." Calling her name seemed to snap her out of her trance. She looked at me, and as she did I place a well coordinated kiss upon her forehead at the base of her horn which lit up and sparked. "Princess Twilight Sparkle, I believe I'm in love with you." She regained her composure after a few deep breaths and cleared her throat. "That can be proven at a later time. For now, come sit with me. I assume you didn't teleport me out here just for that." She tapped the grass beside her, ushering for me to sit. I did as requested, and Twilight began to lean on me, her head on my chest as we watched the sky change from orange to a deep blue. I wrapped a magical wing around her and she snuggled into me. "I think I'm in love with you too." Chapter 8Something has gone wrong. We don't seem to have an archived copy of that chapter.Chapter 9"You... your appearance changed." said a very rattled Twilight Sparkle. "Well that is what happens when a chameleon spell is broken." said Element with a still lingering headache. "So, wait, you lied to me?" Twi's expression turned from scared to angry. "I thought you already figured that out. I mean, come on. I just changed colors for Celestia's sake." Twilight then got furious and began to walk Element into the wall behind him. "You are telling me, that not only have you messed with my mind, but you've been lying to me about more than just the secret little room you're keeping down here. I cannot believe you! I mean, just hours ago you were confessing to me, now I find out that you can't trust me with something like this?!!" "You don't..." "NO!!! I am not done talking." "Actually it's more like ranting..." "SHUT UP!! I can't believe you are correcting me at this point in time. Urrrgh, you just had to make me angry at this late hour, when I should be in bed asleep! But nooo, I have to stay here and scold you like a child and figure out why you're keeping so many Celestia damn secrets! And... WHY ARE YOU SMILING LIKE THAT!!?" It was true, Element had a smile on his face and he was looking at Twilight with an uncomforting look. "I just gotta know." "Know what?" Twilight groaned. "Has anyone ever told you how sexy you are when you're angry?" The question seemed to throw Twilight off guard. She blushed heavily and trotted back a few steps. "Wh-what?" And now it was Element's turn to advance. "Yeah, I don't know what it is, but you just seem a whole lot hotter when you get mad. Kinda turns me on a little. Is it the fire in your eyes? The strictness of your voice? Or just the general way you place yourself? I just don't know." He backed Twilight into a corner and she had to stand on her hind legs to keep from falling to her rump. She spread her wings in order to try and intimidate but to no effect. Then Element stood and placed both his forehooves above her head as he looked down at her very scared face. She stared into his hungry eyes until finally she looked away closing them. Element chuckled, kissed her cheek and backed off, returning to all fours. Needless to say Twilight was confused. He had complete control of the situation, and yet he stopped. "Wh-what...?" "The first rule about relationships in the 'Relationships Guide for Dummies', is to learn enough about the partner to where you can expect almost everything they do. And as such I've been doing subtle research on you as I've been around, and I've learned that you can get caught off guard by almost any sort of complement or phrase I have said so far. If you think I'm not going to take things seriously then you need to catch up, 'cause your fallin' behind." Element slowly walked over and picked up the headsets from earlier and placed one over his ears, without magic. He then threw the other pair which he created to Twilight, who caught it and looked confused at it. "Put it on, you're gonna need it while we're in there." Element said pointing at the door. Twilight was still angry but complied with the direction given and placed the muffs over her ears. Element opened the door carefully and as he did a blast of power could be felt that knocked Twilight on her rump with an "oomph". It didn't seem to face Element in the slightest, however, as he offered her a hoof. Twilight was still mad and declined his help by standing on her own and trotting into the room. Her anger slowly slipped away as she gazed at rows upon rows of different books. She squeed and went over to the nearest shelf to grab one in her magic grip, but was cut off when Element slammed the book back into place. "This place is not for the faint of heart," he spoke using the microphone embedded into the earmuffs, "If you read any of these books you will be overwhelmed with the evil spirits that haunt them and they will try to control you. Do you not see the seals on their spines?" It was true, there were different symbols on each and every book-spine. But Twilight was still not convinced, "I find that hard to believe. If they really are haunted by evil spirits, then how come you're not overwhelmed? And why do I have to wear this stupid thing?" "One, I have to go threw countless rituals and magic before the spirits are calm enough to reason with to where I can even open the book, and two, there are more than just the demons in the books but ghosts are constantly flying about trying to whisper evil into the ears of the weak minded." "...........Should I take that as an insult? Because I'm pretty sure you just called me weak minded." "If you want to test yourself then go right ahead." Twilight did just that and took off the headset. What she didn't expect was the constant voices that entered her mind and were slowly making her crazy. She started to shake and shudder and she gripped onto her head, "Make it stop..... Make it stop!... MAKE IT STOP!!!", she cried in agony her ears felt like they were bleeding and she gained a migraine like she'd never felt before. Her eyes shrank and dilated and her coat became disheveled. There were voices filling her mind, drowning her own thoughts. Most were whispers, but there was so many of them it sounded like they were screaming. Her vision blurred and watered and she was beginning to lose consciousness. The last ting she could remember and hold onto was Element with a pained expression. It was probably more of the fact that he was casting a spell and his headache was returning full force, but still, that was the only thing she could see before, finally, she blacked out. ----- Element floated the limp form of Twilight carefully in the air as he trotted out of his hidden basement, choking down another one of the potions he had Charles grab earlier. Setting her down on the couch, Element looked over Twilights sleeping form. "Why didn't you listen? It was a simple instruction: don't take off the headset. I warned you, and you still refused to take my word." he sighed and trotted over to a closet. He brought a thin, but fluffy, grey blanket over to the purple Alicorn and tucked her in. He also had a thickly feathered pillow in his teeth. Element lifted Twilights head and placed the pillow underneath, he then gently lowered her back down and let her sink into the fabric. He placed a kiss just under her horn which caused her to smile unknowingly. He looked toward the door and thought about going for a nightly flight but he didn't want to leave Twilight without telling her where he had gone. He grabbed a quill and a piece of paper and wrote the following: Twilight, I've gone out for a while. Don't know when I'll be back. You have my permission to explore the basement and are welcome to make yourself something to eat in my home. You may also take your leave whenever you wish to contemplate anything. Knowingly - Element He placed the note on the coffee table so it would be plain sight and went upstairs to gather his saddlebags and extra potions as he was going to need them. He walked back downstairs and out the front door telling Charles to make sure Twilight was safe while she was still here. He casted his makeshift wing spell and took off into the night sky. As he flew under the stars he felt himself becoming quite content. Relaxing and just enjoying the cool air that blasted his face and caressed his body. He soared higher and higher at a constant speed, and when he thought he was high enough, he let go and began to free fall. Heading towards the earth below with his eyes closed he felt no worry or care as he sped toward what would be his inevitable death. He then heard something other than the wind rushing past his ears. Like someone else's voice yelling at him, but he couldn't hear them and ultimately decided to ignore it as he kept falling. He was then slammed into by something and they both crashed onto a cloud. Element slowly stood now pissed off at whatever smashed into him. But when he turned to release some of the aggression he paused at the sight of Rainbow Dash, laying on her back, eyes spinning in different directions out of dizziness. "Rainbow Dash? The hell are you doing out this late at night?" Element asked quizzically. After reacquiring her bearings Rainbow spoke, "I should ask you the same thing. But what I ant to know is why you're falling from a 75,000 foot drop! Are you suicidal or something?! Or are you drunk off your flank." "I'll have you know I was in complete control over my actions. And if I really wanted to die I would've done it already. Now you tell me why in the name of Luna are you out flying at this time of the night?" She scratched the back of her head, "Well I take a lot of naps during the day I'm normally wide awake at night. Also, just the feel of the brisk night air puts me at ease from all the awesome stunts I do during the day. It's calming to me." Element stared at her for a moment, not believing the calm nature the brash pegasus was showing. "I figured you'd be more like a speed demon no matter what you were doing. Seeing you this calm is a little unsettling." "Yeah I get that from most other ponies I say hi to when I'm out here." she then scrunched her nose as if contemplating something, "Hey, I've got this crazy idea." "Well let's hear it." "You want to go out?" Element couldn't believe what she just said, "You know like on a date? Just for tonight?" "I, um, uh, don't know. Not to be rude or stereotypical or anything, but I thought you were...." "Gay? Yeah, I get that a lot too. I keep telling everypony I'm not but they just don't believe me. Don't worry about it though, no offence taken." "Oh good, I didn't mean anything by it." "Are we gonna go or not?" 'Man she get's straight to the point.' "Well I kinda got this thing going with Twilight and..." "Dude, didn't you learn anything back in high school? It says in the Equestrian law book, page 138 subsection G, that: If a male has more than one other mare as a partner of any kind, (dating, sexual, or otherwise) he is allowed to create what is called a 'herd'. Basically, if you want, you can have more than one marefriend. .....Are you okay?" Element's jaw had dropped, and was dumbfounded by just how much the rainbow maned mare knew, and how he forgot that law had even existed. He facehoofed. "You know what? Let's go. You lead the way, and I'll pay for whatever we go do." "Are you serious?!" he nodded and she did a flip in the air, "Woohooohhoooo!! LET'S GO!" she grabbed him by the hoof and dragged him through the air. All the while Element had one thought, 'I am going to regret this.' Chapter 10Element flew through the sky following behind a trail of rainbows and cyan fur. Sure, it wasn't a very fast or exhilarating flight, but more like a soft, mellow glide in the night sky. He closed his eyes and just let the wind take hold of him. He flipped upside down and put his forehooves behind his head, subconsciously creating a magical tether between him and Rainbow Dash so they wouldn't be separated. He was following her after all, and if she made any sort of turn he would be oblivious to it until she came looking for him. He felt the tether loosen a bit, which seemed kind of odd. Unless Rainbow had slowed down to his speed it should have done nothing. And then, as he was moon bathing, something blocked the light from the gigantic glowing orb in the sky. He opened his right eye only slightly, and just as he had thought, Rainbow Dash was flying above him. He could feel the light movement of the air on his body as she flapped her wings from above his form. "You look relaxed." she said with a smile, "Ya thinkin' about something?" Element's mind went to work thinking about every different thing to say to try and throw her off. All within a few measly seconds he looked her straight in the eye. That was it. "Any one ever tell you how beautiful your eyes are?" Dash's eyes widened only slightly, showing a form of reaction, but she kept it together. "How many times have I heard that line?" she said with a cocky grin. "You're gonna have to do a lot better than that to crack me." "Well then." Element gained a grin of his own, and surprised the cyan pegasus by grabbing hold of her body and twirled them both to where they were flying upright. Dash could feel the blood rush to her cheeks at the closeness of their bodies. Element gingerly held one of her hooves in his own and his other by her waist. "I guess I'll have to... take it up a notch." he smiled hungrily. He began leaning forward ever so slowly, closing his eyes. Rainbow Dash, at a loss for words, began to mimic his movements. They were only about eight inches away. Seven. By five inches Rainbow had closed her half open eyes. Two inches. One inch and their lips would connect into a form of great passion. Both ponies could feel each others warm breath in the cool night air. Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, they came together. Lips interlocked with one another, Rainbow physically relaxed into the kiss and wrapped both her hooves around Element's neck. As if she had been hoping this would happen. Until, that is, she was called out of it by the sound of her name. "Rainbow Dash? Hello?! Equestria to Dash do you copy." Element had been calling her. She shook her head to clear out of her stupor. "You've been starring off into space for like five minutes now. You okay?" Rainbow looked back into Element's eyes, her blush intensified by three and she was as red as a beet. "Um, uh, uuuh, yeah, sure. I'm fine." she had lost her cool for a moment. "Uh, let's go! We're almost there. Hope you're hungry." She began to fly down, heading to what looked like a small restaurant. The both of them landed, Element's wings breaking into thousands of shards scattering in all directions. Rainbow looked on as they did, "Do your wings always do that when you land?" "Only if I plan to stay grounded for a while. And no it does not happen when I land on clouds." he said following her inside the store. They walked in and were greeted by one of the hosts who showed them to one of the booths. Element opened up his menu and skimmed right through it and his gaze on one thing in particular. Dash didn't even touch her menu, already knowing everything on it and what she wanted. "May I take your order?" asked a mare clad in a waitress uniform, pen and paper in her magical hold. "An order of cheese covered Prance Fries and a Polka-Cola light on the ice, please." both had said at the exact same time. The two looked at each other surprised. "Okay, got it. I'll be right back with your drinks." and with that, the waitress left to help another table. Rainbow and Element sat there in silence. Waiting for the other to say something. It was kinda awkward for the both of them, being on the same wavelength a moment ago. After waiting for about five minutes Mage spoke up, "Soooooo, was there any particular reason you wanted to go out with me tonight orrrrr............?" "Well, I, um, don't have a reason, but, it's like, I just wanted to see you again." she stumbled trying to find her voice. "Like, after that whole eating contest, I just had to hang out with you again. I dunno." "Just one of those times you just had to do something, right?" "Yes. Exactly! See? You get me." "I've been like that before. Usually if you just give the feeling what it wants it goes away. That's how I deal with most problems." "...Ya know Mage? You're cool. And I don't say that about most ponies." "What makes you say that?" he asked, leaning back, putting one foreleg across the top of the booth and crossing his hind leg over the other. Dash giggled. She giggled. "Cool, funny, and smart. Twilight sure knows how to pick 'em." "What are you talking about? I picked her." "Heh heh, sure ya did." she said with a wink. 'Man, who knew she was so flirty. I've seen a lot of things but this actually surprises me. Things are going well on a date, and I haven't done anything to make it that way. ......Wait, hold on a sec.' "Mage..." he said unsurely. "Hmm?" "You called me by my last name." he stated. "Yeah, and?" "Why?" "Well saying Element constantly over and over is a bit of a mouthful. So I just use your last name cause it's shorter. That... and it's like a nickname." Dash explained. He placed a hoof to his chin, "I guess that makes sense." "Of course it does!" she exclaimed, "You think way too much into things. Relax a little in your life." He thought about it. He thought about it for a while, and soon their drinks had been delivered. He grabbed hold of his Polka-Cola and stared into it, as if looking for an answer. Was he relaxed? Did he worry or think too much? It didn't seem that way to him. Then again his mind was off limits, even to Celestia herself. "...........Time to change that." he spoke under his breath. "Hmm?" Dash looked at him in confusion, and then to his glowing horn that encased his cranium. And she went wide eyed. "Mage.....?" He looked up, smiling. It was the first genuine smile he had given in a long, long time. "Ya know Dash?" She looked at him, his smile contagious. "What?" "I think you've earned the right to hear my backstory. Just don't laugh, OK? It's kinda stupid. Author's Note Anyone who can spot the reference gets a brownie. ":Results may vary:" Also if you really want to know my OC's backstory then you'll have to wait a bit while I work on it. If you just read the story to get to sleep at night from how much it sucks then you'll be in hibernation by the end of the next chapter. With tolerance- -Mage The EndAuthor's Note I was gonna keep going with this, but now I say 'why bother?'. Here a shitty end to a shitty story. The End Rainbow Dash gets to hear all about how Element became so overpowered and better than everyone else. Next thing she knows is that she is in a drinking contest with him. The two of them get so sloshed they end up having sex and wind up somewhere in Mexicolt. They somehow get back to Ponyville where Twilight was worried about the both of them. The other four of the mane six show up and then Element - being the jackass he truly is - casts a spell to where all of them fall in love with him and they somehow get all of Ponyville to have a massive orgy that is mostly made of lesbians. THE FUCKING END!!!
What happened?"Are you sure you want to go through with this?" Celestia asked as she prepared the spell.
"Challenge accepted."
Ready, set, EAT!"Yo waiter," I called out, "I'd like to order now." "You are so on." said the competitive Rainbow Dash.
"YIPPY, I can't wait for next week."
Chapter 6POV: Author Wednesday came and Twilight was getting ready for her, *ahem* 'date', with Element Mage and-- "OOH, OOH, hey Mr.
"I think I'm in love with you too."
Chapter 9"You... your appearance changed." said a very rattled Twilight Sparkle. All the while Element had one thought, 'I am going to regret this.'
Chapter 10Element flew through the sky following behind a trail of rainbows and cyan fur. With tolerance- -Mage
The EndAuthor's Note I was gonna keep going with this, but now I say 'why bother?'.
