Lyra, Vinyl, and Pinkie Pie are living in a new Equestria, so different from the one each of them left behind. What's changed the most is the ruler: a lavender unicorn has now taken the throne.
Lyra may have the most experience with magic as well as the oldest, and Pinkie might have been the Element of Laughter, but Vinyl Scratch is the pony that will lead them when they are accidentally discovered by the Unicorn Princess, Twilight Sparkle. She is the pony that will defeat the unicorn, gone dark with the loss of her friends.
