The Trotting Dead
Prologue
After the outbreak, after the rest of the fall of all of the Equestrian life.
I just couldn't save them all...
*NOTE: This prologue may have some unnecessary details, sorry, I just need 1,000 words. I know I suck, but just continue on and please tell me what you think of it so far!*
It wasn't long before The rest of Equestria had fallen.
Ponies were rapidly changing into something I call Trotters, which were ponies who had died and turned into cannibalistic type ponies who ate the living ones, and the ones we loved were apart of that action (it's actually a lot more terrifying than it might be). If you get bitten by one, you turned. If you died, you turned. If it had anything to do with dying, you turned. It's as simple as that, the problem was that you never knew exactly how long it took before you changed into that infected pony. All I know is that you always turned within, at least, a couple hours or possibly less than that.
If your shot, stabbed, or even blasted in the head with some strong sense magic or some type of weapon, you can never turn. That's how they stay dead forever like before.
You have to know we how to do things like that now, and can not be afraid. Because if your too scared to fight your own battle, you can get eaten alive.
Yeah, the whole thing is pretty disturbing.
But enough with the gruesome stuff. Here's at least everything you should probably know about me, but you might know me already.
I'm Princess Twilight Sparkle, I'm an Alicorn and I used to live in Ponyville before this whole outbreak thing, with my assistant, Spike. Spike was a dragon, and just a mere baby dragon, but he was (well, kind of) mature enough for his age to be honest.
My friends and I were the keepers of the magical Elements of Harmony.
Twilight Sparkle (which I have said already anyway), had lived in Ponyville, and I was the element of Magic. I am a light purple Alicorn, with a tri-colored mane of dark purple, purple, and hot pink.
Applejack was a farmer at Sweet Apple Acres and was the element of Honesty. She was an light pink Earth Pony, with a hot pink mane.
Pinkie Pie was a crazy party pony, who lived at Sugarcube Corner and was the element of Laughter. She was an orange Earth Pony, with a blonde mane.
Rainbow Dash was in charge of the weather in Ponyville, and was the element of Loyalty. She was a blue Pegasus, with a rainbow colored mane.
Rarity was a fashionista, who owned her own boutique, and was the element of Generosity. She was a white Unicorn, with a royal purple mane.
And Fluttershy was a shy pony who cared for animals, and she was the element of Kindness. She was yellow Pegasus, with a light pink mane.
I never originally lived in Ponyville though, I lived in Canterlot, with my brother, Shining Armor (who was captain of the royal guard, and is married to my old foal sitter and princess, Cadence), where I was a personal student to Princess Celestia herself. She sent me to Ponyville for the Summer Sun Celebration, where she wanted me to check up on all the things that were needed. She also wanted me to make friends, which was something I never really thought I would need in my life.
While I was there, I met Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, and Fluttershy, because they were the ones who were in charge of all the things on my checklist. They all have their different personalities that I know they still had before it all. But, then again, I didn't care.
We all went on this adventure to stop Nightmare Moon, who also just so happened to be Princess Celestia's sister, Princess Luna. We found the Elements of Harmony, the magical stones Princess Celestia had used before hoof to stop her sister, sending her to the moon. After Nightmare Moon had destroyed the elements, then and there, at the moment of pure and utter distress, I realized that I DID need my friends, and we defeated Nightmare Moon, using OUR Elements of Harmony we each possessed inside.
We've all had cool, no, amazing adventures together, that almost nopony could explain to others but us. We've been through thick and thin, facing every Changling, Demon, Parasprite, and even when our cutie marks were changed, that came in our path. We never gave up on what truly matter to all 6 of us. The Magic of Friendship.
We had gotten separated from the beginning of the outbreak, I haven't seen them since. I'm all alone without them, I don't know who is alive out of the 5 of them, and it aches me that we couldn't stop it before with our elements.
Princess Celestia wrote to me, before Spike had gone, that she never meant for any of this outbreak to go on this far, well, she never meant for it to even start at all. She said that the fall of Equestria was her worst fear for the outcome of this outbreak. She never knew how it started, she just knew it started at a university in Phillydelphia, where there were testing something on a patient at the medical campus, and something had just went way wrong with the meds that they were testing on the patient.
Which led to the outbreak, leaving Equestria in a insidious state of, well, with zombie ponies.
The last thing she wrote on the letter, was that I need to get to Canterlot, it was safe and where our elements were at its strongest.
But that was before we were all separated. Before we could even start the journey to Canterlot.
I just couldn't save them all...
