A Week on the Beach

At Octavia's mansion in Las Pegasus, Octavia and Vinylcord were having a soothing day of relaxation. They were in two beach chairs under an umbrella and Vinylcord was using his laptop.

Octavia looked around and saw his laptop but couldnt quite see what he had on there.

"So Vinyl, whatcha doin on your laptop?" She questions playfully.

He jumps from her scaring him. He quickly replies with, "U-uh n-nothing." he nervously says and throws the laptop in the sand.

She squints her eyes and says, "Are you sure about that...?"

He stutters and blushes, "P-Positively Not!"

She giggles. "Hmm, OK. So, what were you doing?" She asks playfully.

"Just S-surfing the web. That's All. Heh heh" He knew he was screwed.

"Ok..." she says losing interest

"Eeyup, so what's up with you Octy?

"Nothing really" She says it drooling with boredom.

"Hmm, want to go swimming?"

"Sure!" She says excitedly.

"Alright, lets get your bikini and my trunks" he says as he grabs his laptop and closes it then walks toward the mansion.

"OK."  She says as she walks towards the mansion with him. She grabs his hand and starts to hold it with a light grip.

He feels her hand in his and lightly grips back. She looks at his laptop with a curious expression and he takes notice behind his crimson sunglasses.

"You don't need to what I was looking at, it wasn't as bad what you think. By my standards anyway. Hahaha!'

"Oh, OK. Hehe..."

"Eeyup!" he walks inside with Octavia folloing close behind. They enter the kitchen passing the refrigerator and then the electric stove and finally popcorn maker. Now they are walking through a door that leads to the main hall and walk to the main stairs to the master bedroom on the third floor. They reach the door and he opens it and walks inside and lets go of Octavia's hand and walks to his dresser. She pouts from the loss of grasp and walks to her wardrobe.

Octavia opens the wardrobe and grabs her Treble cleft designed bikini and drops her shorts and changes.

Meanwhile, Vinyl is getting his trunks that say,"Obey the Chaotic Wubz" and had a picture of him with turn tables and discord next to him. He drops his shorts and boxers that say "I <3 Las Pegasus". He catches a look at Octavia's rear and whistles while making her blush and giggle at the same time. She then wiggles her tail in a seductive manner and he resumes what he was doing and she resumes her gigglefest.

They finish changing and Vinyl walks over to her and reaches out a hand for her to hold and she gladly accepts it by taking it in her own. He leans down and kisses her and she welcomes it and kisses him back and blushes a little.

He breaks the kiss and says, "Octy?"

She looks up to his Sunglasses, "Yes?"

"Race you to the beach?"  He lets go of her hand and runs out of the room and races down the hall.

She smirks and chases after him. With his head start, Vinyl, runs down the stairs using his chaotic magic to help balance him as a counterweight. Octavia, just getting to the stairs, complains, "Hey, no using magic. You know I'm an earth pony. Just because Chaos is in your nature, that does not mean that you can cheat." She starts to cautiously run down the stairs while gripping the guide rail to the left. At the same time, Vinyl is at the foot of the steps and starts to go full sprint through the kitchen and almost missing his corner at the island in the center of the room. Octavia has just got down the stairs and is using her earth pony to gain speed and get close to him in the kitchen, but misses the turn and slips. She shakes it off and keeps sprinting to the door right when Vinyl runs out. He picks up speed while on the beach. Considering he was light on his feet, the sand hardly slowed him down with the sudden movements. Octavia all the same, was picking up pace at the beach and drew near him. He looked back at her and kicked some sand to the left of him and she moved back behind him stammering on whether or not to go around him again. He started laughing and started his final sprint for the water. She was getting irritated and jumped at him but he caught notice and moved to the right and she lost balance and fell. He laughed some more and finally made it to the waters edge. His sprinting did not stop and he tripped in the water and fell face first into cold summer water.

Octavia finally got up and watched him fall and started to die of laughter. She started walking to the water as Vinyl was just starting to wash up on shore after his wipe out. He moves around and looks back and gets splashed in the face by a wave and Octavia busts out laughing again.

"Alright, Laugh it up. Laugh it up" He says, obviously irritated.

"Fine, I'm sorry." She says in an apologetic manner. She jumps in the water and gets relaxed.

"Octy, loosen up. Remember, part chaos. I love the laughter, even if towards me. You really need to stop forgetting that I am one with the spirit of chaos." He sighs and splashes some water at her.

She shrieks and says, "Hey, why is that water colder. You made it colder didn't you?" She pouts and gets splashed again. "Maybe I did and yet again, maybe I didn't" He uses his magic to keep splashing her. She starts laughing and splashes back at him warmer water. He deflects all the water using a spell to create a force field above the water. She starts to get irritated and jumps at him. He lifts the force field and catches her. "Your shivering, lets get you out of this water." She looks up at him and sees his concerned eyes behind his crimson sunglasses. She blushes and says, "You didn't have to do that, I can carry myself just fine."

He keeps quiet and she puts her arms around his neck. He carries her to the beach chairs and umbrella and then sets her down in her chair. "You really did not need to do that, I was fine in the water." She says. "Yes i did, you were shivering, why shouldn't have I?" He questions. "Because I can walk..." She giggles and he starts to blush the color of his glasses. "Still, am I not allowed to carry you?" He takes off his sunglasses and drops his hat over his eyes. "Well, no there is not a rule that says that you can't..." She says while getting comfortable in her chair. "Exactly" He says before he drifts off to sleep almost instantly. Octavia following cue.

Three hours later

Vinyl wakes up first and checks his watch. 2:30. 'Hmm, I wonder when Octy will wake up, maybe we can help her wake up faster. Muhahaha' He thought as he got up and levitated a bucket from the beach. The bucket levitated down the beach and got water. As it came back up, he cooled its temperature to just above 0°. 'Let's see how she likes a little chaos to leak from me to her.' On cue, the bucket tips on her and Octavia wakes up with a cold scream. "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA" Vinyl laughs as Octavia jumps up. She turns red and starts to cry from embarrassment. She runs back inside. "Wait this is not how it was supposed to happen. Dammit Discord! Why did I EVER SAVE YOUR ASS!" He yells to nopony.

He chases after Octavia. "Octy, Please it was just a joke. I couldn't help it. You know I'm part Chaos. Please stop so we can talk about this." She closes the bedroom door and Vinyl is too late to get to her. He falls to his knees and starts to sob. "Please Octy, I love you. You know I would never do this unless chaos is having one of its peaks in my brain. If i didn't save Discord maybe it would be a better place. If I could go back and change it I would, but then I would have never met you. I'm sorry. So so so sooooo sorry, Octy. I.... Please Octavia, forgive me?" The door opens to Octavia wearing a frilly and purple sundress with grey shorts that match her fur. She has a smile on her face and she bends down and kisses his forehead then takes his sunglasses and looks into his brown and green eyes. "I know you cannot control it, but I forget that too. I'm sorry for making you breakdown and apologize for something you have no control over. Now, go get changed, lets go for a walk to get some lunch. You're buying." She walks to the beach.

With the most puzzled and relieved expression, Vinyl went to the bedroom and got a T-shirt that had a picture of him, turn tables, his old DJ partner, Discord. The shirt said DJ-Dis3. 'Back in the good ol' days. Maybe one day i will tell Octy the story.' He thought while putting on a pair of black cargo shorts.

Octavia was waiting for him in the beach chair thinking about what to eat for lunch. 'Maybe we'll figure it out on the walk, I remember that he knows some great places.' She thought as he came outside. She looks at him and giggles. "What is it?" Vinyl looks all around his body. "Its just the shirt, I have always liked that shirt. I don't know why. Probably because you and Discord are on it and now Discord is apart of you. Its like you are your shirt."

"I have no idea what you mean, but let's start our walk." He walks to Octavia and holds her hand and they both start walk down the beach until they reach the shore and start walking along it.

"What would you want for dinner tonight, Octy? We could have whatever you want."

"Neighponese sushi sounds good, but i dont think that there are any of those around here."

"You forget, i have chaos magic. Chaos is stronger than alicorn magic. Therefore i can go to Neighpon and be back within five minutes. All I need are Neighponese bits."

Octavia reaches in her pocket and grabs Neighponese bits out and hold them in her hand for Vinyl to see. "Will these work?" She asks.

"Alright, now i have a question. Are you secretly a Unicorn and teleported those to your pocket, or is this one of those intuition times of yours?"

"Intuition times." She giggles.

"Alright, you win. I'll go there later on tonight and get the sushi for dinner, Ok?"

"Fine with me" Her stomach growls, "Eh heh heh"

"I take it your hungry, huh?"

Her stomach growls again. "Yeah" She says sheepishly.

"Well, I know a great place owned by two drunk goats."

"Whats it called?"

"Two Drunken Goats" Vinyl Laughs.

Octavia facehoofs. "Of course it is."

"Eeyup!"

Twenty Minutes Later

"Here we are!" Vinyl points to an open restaurant/bar that has much business. He looks around some and sees his cousin, The Captain and his fiance, Sparkle Dust.

Vinyl jumps up and down yelling, "Hey Captain! Captain, Captain, Captain! It's me Vinyl. Captain, Its me your cousin, Vinyl!"

The Captain turns to the podium at the front of the open restaurant and sees his white coated cousin jumping up and down yelling his name. A wide smile comes across his face and gets up and does the exact same thing to his cousin, just to embarrass his fiance. "Hey Vinyl! Vinyl, Vinyl, Vinyl! It's me Equinox! Vinyl, It's me your cousin Equinox! Come over here, our table is large enough for you and your filly friend!"

Both mares facehoof and smile from how their stallions seem to care much for each other.

Vinyl takes Octavia's hand and walks her to the table where The Captain and Sparkle are currently seated.

"Captain, you faggot, it's wonderful to see a cousin and his fiance." Vinyl slaps his hand on The Captain's shoulder. "How have you been?"

The Captain stands and says, "Oh, uh, I have been with Sparkle and as usual we do our traveling throughout Equestria. We are just here for our wedding. But, where are my manners, who is this fine young mare with you cousin?"

Octavia speaks, "I am Octavia Melody. I am from Canterlot and I own a mansion here in Las Pegasus. And you are?"

"Straight to the point when it comes to new ponies, I like that. I am Equinox "Bootlace" Melody. I am referred to as The Captain or just Captain by friends and family. This is my beautiful fiance, Sparkle Dust. She and I are getting in three days. I trust you two will be there?"

Sparkle Dust speaks up, "We would love to see you two there."

Octavia says, "Yes, we would be honored to come."

Vinyl speaks up, "You didn't tell me.. Oh yeah you did that's right, it slipped my mind, eh heh my bad."

The Captain facehoofs, "I could have sworn that you have become one with Chaos not Stupidity."

Everypony but Vinyl at the table laughs.

Octavia giggles. "Yeah, he has a tendency to do that at times"

More laughter erupts from the table and even Vinyl had a smirk on his face.

"Alright, I'm sorry for forgetting, but I was just having too much fun with Octy here." Vinyl assures.

"...yes we were" She blushes a little.

"Oh brother, please tell me you used protection" The Captain says with some worry.

Vinyl facehoofs and assures The Captain, "Not that way, we don't know what would happen if the master of chaos did it with another pony, it would be either awesome and crazy or catastrophic and still crazy."

Octavia blushes and says, "Very true."

"Plus, if I do, there could be another Discord born." Vinyl looks out the open windows.

"Alright, but wouldn't you love to see your old friend again?" The captain asks.

"Yes I miss him, even though I'm one with him, I will find a way to bring him back, but not that way. I will NOT take my chances." Vinyl says with sadness and anger.*

"Fine, but did you tell," The Captain points to Octavia, "Her about what happened?"

She stares at The Captain and Vinyl with a confused and curious expression.

"He never told you did he, about the day when him and Discord combined? It's the reason why his horn is broken." The Captain seems to have contracted a lot of stress in everypony's eyes except for Vinyl. His reaction is the same as The Captain's.

Vinyl looks at Octavia with a sad expression and immediately tries to hide it. "One day I will tell you the story, but not anytime on this trip, okay?"

"That's fine I've heard enough, so lets get something to eat. I'll have a shrimp kebab." Octavia says changing the subject to lighten the air.

"How quaint of you. I shall have the same thing as you." Vinyl says struggling to say fancily.

The Captain rolls his eyes and facehoofs at the same time. " You really are the God of Stupidity over the God of Chaos, aren't you."

The group giggles and Octavia punches The Captain's shoulder. "Captain, don't be that way. You know he is better looking than you." Oohs' are passed around the table and laughter soon followed.

Two Hours Later

After saying their goodbyes, Vinyl and Octavia are holding hands and she has her head on his shoulder. While walking on the beach once again back to the mansion.

Vinyl breaks the silence, "How did you like The Captain and Sparkle?"

Octavia smiles, "They were a lovely couple, I can see why they are getting married."

"Yeah, their good ponies. They were a big help in the Discord incident" He has the sad memory cross his mind and smiles as if nothing is bugging him.

"That was very nice of them"

"Yeah, I don't wanna talk about that. Considering its about 6:00 then dinner should be an hour, after we get back, then I'll teleport to Neighpon for the Sushi, okay?"

"Sounds good."

Ten Minutes later at the Mansion

"What now, Octy"

"I'm not sure, you got any ideas?"

"Well, since I like napping in my free time, I'm headed up to bed. Care to join? I promise it will not turn out like the last nap at the beach." Vinyl assures as he leaves the den.

"Hmmm, I can't see why not." Octavia follows him up to the bedroom.

Vinyl opens the bedroom door and Octavia walks in after him.

"Octy, can you set an alarm for 7:45. I'm sure I'll sleep longer if you don't."

"Okay" she sets the alarm and lies down next to him, who is apparently asleep already.

She closes her eyes and drifts off to sleep within 5 minutes.

'She's snoring, now is my chance' Vinyl thinks as he slowly gets up and walks to the door. He opens the door slowly to prevent creaks and steps out closing it slowly again. He teleports to the den and teleports a secret list to his hand.

"Let's get started. Octavia will have the best anniversary ever!" Vinyl says to himself.

To Do:

1. Make den have a shade of purple to match Octy's cutie mark.

"Simple enough" as he finishes saying that his horn glows a chaotic shade of black and levitates all the furniture and slowly it all changes from its random shades to a beautiful purple to match Octavia's cutie mark. It all falls back into place exactly where they were.

"What's next?"

To Do:

2. Get Neighponese Sushi

"Even simpler" He grabs the Neighponese bits and teleports there. He goes to the nearest Sushi vendor and gets two plates of sushi and pays. He then teleports back to the kitchen and sets them on both sides of the round table where the chairs are.**

He looks at the clock. 6:49.

"Plenty of time."

To Do:

3. Get Octy the Dress of her dreams

"Hmm, a tough one. Since I only have the power of Chaos, there is only one who can go into dreams. Looks like I'm paying Luna a visit. But, just so It does not seem sappy, I need to look different." He charges up his horn and begins a transformation spell. He grows his front legs into arms and makes his tail long and scaly. He grows an antler next to his horn and both move to the top of his head and his face turns into a mule head. "HaHa, I even sound like Discord too. This shall be fun for the next few moments." He snaps his lion paw fingers and appears in Princess Luna's bedroom.

Luna looks up from her book and keeps a blank expression. "Hello, Discord it has been awhile, has it not?"

Discord walks around and says, "Yes, yes Luna how has your night been since I have been away?"

"Just fine, but Vinyl, why did you come here as Discord? You know i cannot tolerate him anymore."

Discord's expression changes and he snaps his fingers and turns back into Vinyl.

"Hey Luna, it's been awhile."

"Yes,yes. I know how this will go down. Just get straight to the point."

"Hmm, Alright. I need you to go into my filly friends dreams and find the Dress of her dreams. I want to get it because its our anniversary. Considering you owe me this favor, I suggest you do so."

"Alright, who would this very special mare be?" She questions.

"Octavia Melody, Beautiful grey earth pony. She is napping right now. Just please, do not let her know about this. I want it to be a surprise."  Vinyl assures Luna.

"Alright, I shall repay my debt, As long as you keep your end of the deal." Luna's horn charges a dark blue and she vanishes.

"Thank you Luna, I will keep my end. I will bring him back, somehow." Vinyl says to nopony.

Five minutes pass and Luna returns.

"Have you got the dress?"

"Hold out your hand and clear your mind."

"Alright." He holds his hand out and Luna grabs it.

The dress appears in his mind.***

Vinyl gasps at the beauty of the dress on Octavia. "Wow, now that is a beautiful dress." He opens his eyes and hugs Luna. "Thank you Luna. I promise I shall keep my end of the deal. Here this is from Discord." He changes his face back to Discord's and kisses Luna. He changes back.

"Do you know anypony who can get this done by 7:45?" Vinyl asks frantically.

"Well yes, Her name is Rarity. She makes the best dresses and makes them look exactly how you'd want them to look." Luna says.

"Thank you, What city does she live in and what is her shop called?" Vinyl asks

"She lives in Ponyville and her shop is called Carousel boutique." Luna says

"Thank you so much Luna." He kisses her on the cheek and teleports to Ponyville.

She touches her cheek and blushes. "Your welcome."

Carousel Boutique, Ponyville

Vinyl appears in front of the doors of the Boutique and knocks in the warm Ponyville air.

A generous and welcoming voice comes from inside, "It's open, Come on in."

He walks in and sees a beautiful white mare with a purple mane and wearing a white silk dress that fits tightly and shows off all the right curves.

She notices him and says,"Eyes up here, Mr?" She winks over her shoulder

He moves around and blushes. "I'm Vinyl. Princess Luna directed me to you for the creation of a beautiful dress in under one hour. Can you do this?"

'Why of course, I've made the most divine dresses for any occasion. What's your Occasion?" She asks while going to her workroom.

"Well, my filly friend Octavia Melody and I, have an Anniversary today. I was hoping you could make the dress of her dreams within an hour?"

She ponders on whether or not to do it. "Maybe I can, I need to see a picture of the dress first."

"Hold your hand out and clear your mind."

"What do yo-" he cut her off "Just do it."

She complied and stuck her hand out. He took it and transferred her an image of Octavia's dream dress. Rarity put her hand over her mouth and started to tear up.

"Th-this is the most beautiful dress I have ever seen. I will make it for you and her free of charge, my pleasure to make a dress so elegant and refined. It's divine."

"Really? Thank you so much Rarity, can you make it by 7:45?"

"Most likely, if I do not, you may find a way to help yourself."

"I won't keep that in mind and I will be back around then. Thank you, Rarity." With that he charges his horn and goes back to the mansion.

The Mansion, Las Pegasus

"Perfect, I have the dress being made and food in the kitchen, what's next. 4?"

To Do:

4.Find a new and brilliantly made Cello for Octavia.

"Hmm, I can make one or go to a store and buy one. Making one is cheaper"  He moves his horn in the air and burns the shape of a cello in the air. Suddenly, the hole fills in with oak wood and then a cello appears. He engraved the back saying "to the best filly friend a unicorn and god of chaos could ask for".

"Okay, now that I have all that done, what's the time?" He looked at the clock: 7:15.

"Hmm, I might have enough time for the final thing on this list."

To Do:

1. Get chaotic looking, but still dashing suit

"Well, this will be simpler than all others combined. The best place to get suits are Prance." He snaps his fingers and appears in a Prench suit shop. He buys a black shirt, grey khakis, blue suit, and white suede shoes. 'Damn I'm a sexy god of chaos/unicorn.' he thinks to himself while looking in a mirror. 'I wonder what time it is?' he pulls out a pocket watch and sees the time: 7:44. 'Oh shit, lets get back to Rarity's before that alarm goes off.' with that he snaps his fingers and appears in Rarity's work room.

Rarity is putting in the last stitch and she finishes with sweat rolling down her white back and legs. She notices that Vinyl is back.

"Here you go Vinyl, make Octavia feel like she is the only mare in the world. And might I say, you look rather dashing in that suit." She winks at him seductively. "Th-thank you Rarity, I owe you one." he says nervously

'Yes, yes you do." she winks again and waves bye.

He snaps his fingers and appears in the bedroom and hurries with just seconds to spare turning off the alarm and sets it for 7:50. Then he sets the dress on the rack of other dresses but leaves a note on this one and then slips out of the room, undetected.

Five minutes later

The radio on the alarm clock goes off playing a simply divine and complex piece on the piano. She smiles as she realizes that its a piece her friend made.

She gets up and looks for Vinyl. 'He's not here? He must be in Neighpon getting the sushi. Still, why would he get up before me?' She thinks. She looks around and sees a note hanging from a dress inside a dress case.

Octavia,

Happy anniversary! Put this dress on and meet me in the Kitchen.

Vinyl

She wonders how the dress looks. She opens it and immediately cries from tears of happiness. 'It's the most beautiful dress I have ever seen. Its exactly like the one from my dreams. Wait a second' she smiles, 'Vinyl. Oh Vinyl how I love you.' She thinks as she puts the dress. She puts her hands over her mouth and blushes. 'It fits tightly and made around every curve!' She thinks as she rushes into the kitchen to see what else Vinyl has planned for her.

She opens the door and sees that the room is lit by hundreds of candles with Vinyl and the table of Neighponese sushi in the middle of it all.

He grins, "Good evening, Octavia. How do you like your dress?"

She runs around the table and brings him into a tight embrace and says with tears of joy again, "Yes! Absolutely! It's the one from my dreams! You talked to Luna didn't you?" She encases her lips with his into a deep and passionate kiss that seemed to last a lifetime. "You don't need to know about how I got anything. All you need to know is that I did all of this just for you." He assured her then released her from his grasp. He guided her over to her seat of the table and offered her the chair. She took it and he pushed her chair in. He then took his seat across from her.

"Dinner is served" He levitates chopsticks over and gives Octavia a set.
