Kamen Rider/ MLP: The Battle for Equestria
Chapter 1
The Invasion
It was a day nopony in Equestria would soon forget. The day the Changelings invaded. The Changeling leader, Queen Chrysalis, had taken the form of Princess Mi Amore Cadenza, or Cadence as she preferred, and was preparing to marry Captain Shining Armor of the Royal Guard. However, Twilight Sparkle, the personal student of Princess Celestia and bearer of the Element of Magic, saw through Chrysalis' evil scheme and stopped the wedding before it was complete. This was however a minor inconvenience for the Changeling Queen as her forces invaded the city of Canterlot. Twilight Sparkle and her fellow Elements of Harmony fought valiantly against the Changeling hoards, but they were soon captured by Chrysalis along with Princess Celestia.
However, as all hope seemed lost Princess Cadence and Shining Armor used the power of their love to repel Chrysalis and her Changeling army from Canterlot and Equestria.
With her forces, defeated, the nation of Equestria thought they had seen the last of Chrysalis.
They could not have been more wrong. For just like the Hydra, as one force of evil is defeated, another will rise to take it's place.
This is is the story of that evil, and the heroes who fight to protect all worlds from their destruction.
This is the story of the Kamen Riders.
Princess Celestia and Princess Luna were preparing the city of Canterlot for the Summer Sun Celebration. Celestia had been through this same process for more than a thousand years, so it should have been relatively routine for her.
However, this year was particularly special for Celestia and Equestria. This year would not only celebrate the raising of the sun, but the return of Celestia's sister, Princess Luna, and the newly crowned Princess Twilight Sparkle, her student. Celestia was overjoyed at the prospect of her beloved sister and student participating in this event with her.
“This year's Summer Sun Celebration will certainly be a memorable one, won't it Luna?” Celestia said.
“We agree dear sister. We are ecstatic that thou has chosen us to participate in this event with thee. However, we still have our doubts about young Sparkle's role. Does thou truly think she can handle the responsibilities of being a Princess. She is but a mere filly compared to us, or even Cadence for that matter,” Luna said in her old timey way of speaking. Celestia frowned at her sister for a moment but then regained her normal composure.
“I know you still have doubts about Twilight's abilities to handle the role of Princess, but she has proven herself time and again to be capable of possessing and controlling far greater power. Was she not the one who helped free you of the Nightmare?” Celestia asked.
“Aye,” Luna said somewhat deflated.
“And was she not also the one who saved Equestria from Discord, returned Cerberus to Tartarus, helped stop Chrysalis' invasion, and stopped the return of King Sombra?” Celestia asked like a mother berating her child.
“Aye! Yes, she has proven herself time and again to be a powerful mage, along with her fellow Elements. We merely question whether she will be able to handle the pressures of royalty. You have told us time and again of her constant panic attacks and need for perfection. What if she cannot handle the burden?” Luna asked. Celestia merely smiled and patted her sister on the head.
“Twilight will do just fine Luna. Besides, it's not like she'll be doing this alone. She has her friends as well as you, myself, and Cadance and Shining Armor. Princess Twilight will do just fine,” Celestia said with utter confidence. Luna merely looked at her sister, awed at how trusting she could be. Luna smiled at her sister.
“If you have faith in her sister, then we shall try to put our faith in Princess Twilight as well,” Luna said. Celestia smiled and nuzzled her sister.
“Thank you Luna. Now come, we must continue with the,” Celestia was suddenly cut off as a loud boom echoed throughout Canterlot. Celestia and Luna looked up to see that a large portal had opened up above Canterlot.
“Sister, what is that?” Luna asked.
“I don't know Luna. But I'm sensing a lot of evil magic emanating from that portal,” Celestia said. A group of Guards soon ran up to Celestia looking for orders.
“Guard, implement anti-invasion plan 759, NOW!” Celestia commanded, switching from her normal calm demeanor into one of a seasoned war general.
The guards all saluted and said in unison “AT ONCE MA'AM!” and proceeded to implement Celestia's plan. As the guards scrambled to get into position, something began to come out of the portal.
Celestia and Luna got into a battle position, their horns aglow with magic.
Soon, they were able to see what the object coming from the portal was. The object appeared to be similar to an airship, except far different in design and made entirely out of metal. Celestia's eyes widened as she saw who was at the helm.
“No, it can't be! We defeated her!” Celestia yelled.
Sure enough, at the helm of the ship was none other than the supreme queen of all changelings, Queen Chrysalis. To make matters even worse, she was followed by thousands of her changeling army.
“CITIZENS OF EQUESTRIA!! IT IS I, QUEEN CHRYSALIS!!!! I HAVE RETURNED TO STEAL ALL THE LOVE FROM THIS LAND!!!! BUT THIS TIME, I WILL NOT BE DEFEATED!!!!!” Chrysalis bellowed as hundreds of her changeling army flew down to attack Canterlot.
“Sister, what should we do?” Luna asked.
“You help the Guard defend the city. Contact Shining Armor and Cadence as well, let them know the situation. I will contact Twilight and the other Elements. We will need their assistance in this battle,” Celestia said. Luna nodded and flew off to aid in the battle. Celestia quickly wrote a letter to Twilight before rushing off to gather the Elements. Questions flooded her mind as she ran.
“Why is Chrysalis attacking now? What is that odd airship of hers? And why do I feel she's not working alone this time?” The Princess of the Sun thought as she took flight.
Meanwhile, in Ponyville
“Dang it, why can't I get this right!?” Twilight screamed as she face-planted for about the fiftieth time that day in her attempts to gain better control of her new wings. Her friends were all gathered around her, offer comfort and the occasional snicker at her futile attempts at flight.
“Okay, here's something I don't get Twi. You were able to fly so well at your coronation, so why are you so bad at it now?” Rainbow Dash asked. Twilight rubbed her head and looked down sheepishly.
“Beginner's luck I guess?” she said. Rainbow simply face-hoofed at her friend's excuse.
“It's okay Twilight, not everyone's the best flier at first. It took me years to learn how to fly properly, and I grew up with Rainbow Dash,” Fluttershy said trying to comfort her downtrodden friend.
“Besides darling, it's not like you could ever have expected to suddenly grow wings. You have spent most of your life as a unicorn after all,” Rarity said. Twilight looked at her wings and sighed.
“I guess you're right Rarity. I am still getting used to all this,” Twilight said as she looked down and sighed.
“Somethin' else on yer' mind sugarcube?” Applejack asked.
“Well...I just really want to do well in my part for the Summer Sun Celebration. It's going to be my first official duty as a Princess and I don't want to mess it up,” Twilight said. Pinkie suddenly appeared and grabbed Twilight's face and forced her to smile.
“Come on now silly, I don't wanna see our most favorite and smartest Princess with a big old frowny face. You've done more difficult things than this right?” Pinkie asked, her trademark grin plastered on her face. Twilight removed Pinkie's hooves and rubbed her face.
“Yeah, but that was all spur of the moment stuff. This is something that's planned and precise. I cant' afford to mess it up,” Twilight said, her anxiety starting to show. Spike walked up to her and patted her side.
“Come on Twi, you'll do fine. Besides, I doubt Princess Celestia is really gonna mind if you make one little mistake. She's not exactly the type to berate someone for one little mistake is she?” Spike asked. Before twilight could respond, Spike burped up a burst of green smoke, which produced a scroll with Celestia's personal insignia on it. Twilight levitated it with her magic and opened it.
“What's it say Twilight?” Spike asked. As twilight read, her eyes turned to pinpricks and she immediately rolled the scroll back up.
“We need to get to Canterlot now!” Twilight said as she began running towards the train station. The rest of the Mane Six and Spike followed suit.
“What's wrong Twilight?” they all asked.
“Canterlot's under attack, by Queen Chrysalis,” Twilight said. They all looked at each other shocked.
“I thought your brother and Princess Cadence sent that pain in the flank packing, what's she doing back now?” Rainbow Dash asked.
“I don't know Rainbow, but the Princess said it was urgent,” Twilight's horn glowed as a book appeared in front of her “and she said we'll need these,” Twilight said as she levitated each of her friends their respective element necklace and her tiara. They all looked at each other concerned.
“Well let's get moving ya'll!” Applejack said as she increased in speed. They all followed her lead and soon found themselves at the train station. However, they were shocked to see that the train had been shut down.
“Ah ponyfeathers! Now how are we gonna get there in time!?” Rainbow Dash exclaimed.
“Twilight, can't you just teleport us there?” Rarity asked. Twilight's face grew nervous.
“ That's difficult. I could probably teleport myself safely, but I'm not sure about the rest of you,” Twilight said. They all looked at each other before a voice suddenly said “Perhaps I can be of assistance,” before from out of nowhere, Discord appeared. Everyone except Fluttershy got into a defensive stance.
“What do you want Discord?” Twilight asked. Discord simply floated in mid air, looking quite offended.
“I merely want to help you all. Besides, Celestia sent me here to make sure you all got to Canterlot safely,” Discord said. They all looked at each other.
“If Celestia sent Discord here, it must be really bad,” Rarity said. Discord suddenly appeared out of Rarity's mane and said “Oh it is dear Rarity. Chrysalis' army is simply devastating the city. As much as I enjoy chaos, even I don't like what she's doing,” Discord said as he exited Rarity's mane, Rarity shuddering as he did so.
“How can we be sure you won't send us someplace else?” Pinkie said. Discord looked at them with an annoyed look on his face.
“Look, Canterlot's in danger and if Chrysalis wins, then my fun will end. So either let me teleport you there or don't. It's your choice,” Discord said as he produced a chair out of nowhere and began to patiently sit. The Mane Six looked at each other with worried expressions. Finally, Fluttershy spoke up and said “I think we should trust Discord”. Discord rose form his chair and gave Fluttershy a hug.
“Oh thank you Fluttershy, I knew you'd believe in me,” he set her down “So what's your decision. Will you let me teleport you Canterlot or not?” he said. They all looked at each other before they all nodded. Twilight walked up to Discord.
“We'll trust you just this once. Any funny business and we'll turn you right back into stone. Got it?” Twilight said. Discord suddenly turned into a crystal version of himself and said “Crystal, Princess Twilight”. With that, Discord snapped his claws and suddenly the Mane Six and Spike were all transported to Canterlot.
The Mane Six and Spike opened their eyes after the teleportation, and what they found chilled their blood.
Flames were spreading all across Canterlot. Changelings were attacking ponies left and right. The Royal Guard were trying their best to fend them off, but the changelings seemed stronger than last time.
The Mane Six shook off their initial shock and went straight into action. Twilight and Rarity blasted them magic, Rainbow Dash used her speed to create tornadoes, Pinkie Pie fired her Party Cannon, Applejack used her hind legs too buck changelings into walls, and Fluttershy tried her best to stay out of their way, but occasionally used The Stare. Spike was trying his best to stay out of the Mane Six's way while holding off Changelings by shooting fire.
They slowly made their way towards the main castle. As they made their way there, they noticed the large airship in the sky.
“What in tarnation is that!?” Applejack said.
“Trouble,” Twilight said as she blasted an incoming changeling with a purple burst of magic.
“We have to find the Princesses, now!” she said as they made their way up the steps. Soon they made it to the central courtyard. What they saw there caused them all to stop in terror.
There, laying on the ground were Princess Celestia and Princess Luna, and standing above them was Queen Chrysalis and some unknown figures in white coats. They looked to be about the size of a teenaged dragon, but they had no scales or fur of any kind except for tufts of hair atop their heads.
When Chrysalis saw the Mane Six, she smiled her evil serrated grin.
“Well, if it isn't Twilight Sparkle and her little group of friends. Oh, I'm sorry, Princess Twilight now is it. Funny how a few months can change a pony isn't it,” she said as she kicked Celestia in the ribcage, causing the downed Princess to spit out some blood.
“Princess Celestia!” Twilight said as she fired a bolt of magic at Chrysalis. However, out of Chrysalis' shadow jumped a strange creature who intercepted the attack with little to no damage to itself. The monster looked vaguely like the beings in white coats, except it was at least a foot taller, with an almost completely black body with flame like designs and armor along it's body and head. Chrysalis patted the creature on the head and said “Good work Hellhound”. The monster bowed to Chrysalis before disappearing back into her shadow. The Mane Six looked at her in shock.
“Interesting creatures Phantoms. Born out of the destruction of those who have fallen to despair. Not to mention excellent soldiers,” she said with a chuckle. The Mane Six each took a step back in fear. Chrysalis saw this and smiled.
“Scared little ponies? You should be. With the enhancements Foundation X has given my cute little changelings, nothing will be able to stop me from taking this world,” Chrysalis said as she began to laugh evilly. Her laugh was interrupted however as one of the white coated figures tapped her on the shoulder.
“Pardon me Chrysalis, I believe you're forgetting a certain term of our agreement,” the figure said. Chrysalis looked at the creature and smiled.
“My apologies Retsu. What I meant to say was the 'we' will take over this world,” Chrysalis said as she continued chuckling. The figure in the coat, Retsu, chuckled along with her.
“I'll admit, I never thought the Foundation would seek a partnership with someone of your.....stature. However, you're changelings have given us some spectacular data. Especially in our research on kaijin,” Retsu said. Chrysalis smirked at the odd creature. The Mane Six looked at each other nervously.
“What are you talking about? What's a kaijin?” Twilight said. Chrysalis and Retsu both began to laugh as a hoard of changelings appeared from the sky. These changelings looked different however, with lifeless, blank eyes.
“Why don't you show them my lovelies,” Chrysalis said. The changelings all suddenly stood at attention and began to change.
One by one, the changelings began to transform into kaijin. Form left to right, they transformed into what the Mane Six could only describe as monsters. One looked like a giant walking volcano, another looked like a praying mantis, and the other three looked to be a minotaur, lion, and odd giant like creature that glowed with a constellation. The Mane Six backed away in fear.
“What in Equestria are those things!?” Applejack said.
“Your worst nightmare you foalish ponies. When that abysmal Princess Cadence and Shining Armor expelled my army and I from Equestria, they didn't just expel us form this land. They expelled us from this world entirely,” she said advancing on the Mane Six.
“For weeks we suffered in the void between worlds. Finally we ended up on a place called Earth. That's where I met my associate Retsu and Foundation X,” she said. Retsu and the other Foundation X members walked up to Chrysalis' side.
“They helped us, gave us new power and abilities. In exchange, I told them of this world, it's people, and it's treasures,” Chrysalis said, putting emphasis on the last word. Twilight thought about this for a moment before noticing that the Foundation X members were eying the Elements of Harmony. Twilight's eyes widened.
“You're after the Elements!” she yelled.
“You are indeed correct,” Retsu said stepping forward.
“Queen Chrysalis told us of the power the Elements of Harmony possessed. With them in our possession, there's no telling what powers we could possess. So if you all could hand them over, that will make this whole process move along much quicker,” Retsu said, extending one of his arms in a 'gimme' sort of way.
“Like Tartarus we're handing over the Elements you...whatever you are!” Rainbow Dash said as she charged the group. Retsu smiled as the volcano monster leaped in front of them and punched Rainbow Dash back, the smell of burnt fur lingering in the air.
“Rainbow Dash!”The Mane Six yelled, going to there injured friend. She was still conscious, but she had burns along one of her legs and one of her wings looked bent. Retsu laughed at Rainbow's injured form.
“Chrysalis was right, this one is just as brash as that foolish detective. Do you see now, you cannot beat the changelings as they are now, infused with the power of Kaijin. Surrender the Elements now, or you will see just how deadly our Kaijin can get,” Retsu said as the Kaijin readied themselves into battle stances. Twilight and the rest of the Mane Six looked at each other worried. If Chrysalis and Foundation X got hold of the Elements of Harmony, who knows what they would do with them.
“Enough!”
Everyone looked to see that Celestia and Luna were now standing, albeit weakly. Both were bleeding in a few places and their wings looked to be broken.
Chrysalis saw this and laughed “So the mighty Princesses Celestia and Luna still have some fight left in them. I admire your willpower Princesses, but even you must know you can't win,” Chrysalis said as Luna and Celestia moved towards the Mane Six.
“Princess, what should we do? They're too powerful,” Twilight said.
“I know Twilight. These Kaijin they have are some of the greatest foes I have ever faced. If they get the Elements, Equestria is lost,” Celestia said.
“Twilight...” Rainbow Dash croaked. Twilight went to her friend's side.
“What is it Rainbow?” Twilight asked. Despite the protests of her friends, Rainbow Dash weakly got to her hooves.
“Listen, these creeps are too powerful for us to handle. Even with the Elements, we stand no chance,” Rainbow said weakly.
“So what do we do then?” Twilight asked. The rest of the Mane Six looked at each other before they all hugged Twilight. Twilight stood there confused before all her friends sadly said “Run”.
“What?”
“Run. You, Spike, and the Princesses take the Elements and get as far away from here as possible. We'll hold off Chrysalis and her goons for as long as we can,” Rainbow Dash said. The rest of the Mane Six nodded their agreement.
Twilight shook her head “No...no I'm not leaving you all! We beat Chrysalis once we can do it again! We can....” She was cut off as her mentor put a hoof on her shoulders. Twilight looked up at her mentor, tears forming on the edges of her eyes.
“Twilight, your friends are right. We have to take the Elements and run. As bad a taste as it leaves in my mouth, we must retreat,” Celestia said, her voice obviously hesitant. Twilight shook her head at her mentor.
“No,no,no,no! I'm not leaving my friends behind to die! We can figure this out, we can...” was all she managed to say before Celestia hit Twilight across her neck, knocking her unconscious. Spike ran to her side, looking up at the Sun Princess in shock.
“Why did you do that!?” he yelled before noticing the tears forming in her eyes. Spike knew doing this wasn't what the Princess wanted to do either, but what she had to do. Luna stood by her sister, her face obviously showing her anger at having to retreat.
Spike did the only thing he could think of. He ran to the remaining Mane Six and gave them all hugs, tears streaming down his face. They all hugged him back and gave him the remaining Elements.
“Be safe everyone,” he said before he ran back to the Princesses. Celestia looked at the Mane Six and smiled.
“You are all some of the bravest ponies I have ever met. Worry not my little ponies, we shall be back, and we shall defeat Chrysalis and Foundation X,” Celestia said as her and Luna's horns began to glow with magic.
Chrysalis and Foundation X saw all this and quickly knew what they were doing.
“Stop them at once! If they get away now everything will be ruined!” Chrysalis bellowed as the Kaijin charged at the group. The Mane Six ran to meet their charge as the Princesses' teleportation spell enveloped the four.
The last thing the Princesses and Spike saw was the remaining Mane Six trying their best to hold off the Kaijin.
Twilight opened her eyes wearily, a slight pain in her neck. She wondered where she was before suddenly remembering Chrysalis, Foundation X, and the Kaijin. She sat up from her resting place to find Spike sitting next to her. When he saw the she was awake, he hugged the lavender mare.
“Twilight, you're awake!” the young drake said. Twilight smiled at her assistant/adoptive brother.
“I'm glad to see you Spike, but where are we?” Twilight said as she broke the hug. Looking around, they appeared to be in a dilapidated version of one of the rooms in the castle
“The castle of the old pony sisters. The Princesses brought us here,” Spike said. Twilight's smile faded at the mention of the Princesses
As if on cue, the Princesses entered the room, bandages covering parts of their bodies.
Celestia smiled at Twilight and said “I'm glad you're awake Twilight”. That's when Twilight did something none of them ever would have thought she would do. She ran up to Princess Celestia and slapped her, tears in her eyes. Luna and Spike stood shocked while Celestia took the slap from her student, a remorseful look on her face.
Twilight huffed as she lowered her hoof “How dare you!! You just left my friends there at the hooves of Chrysalis and those monsters!!” Twilight yelled at her former mentor. Celestia rubbed her face.
“How could you!? You're supposed to be one of the rulers of Equestria and you just left you're subjects to..to....” Twilight fell to her knees at the thought that her friends might be dead. Celestia lifted her student's head and looked her in the eye.
“I am sorry for what I have done Twilight, but it was necessary. If we had not left then Chrysalis would have gotten the Elements of Harmony, and all of Equestria would be lost,” she said remorsefully. Twilight was about to say something when Spike suddenly tapped her on the shoulder, showing her the Elements of Harmony he had grasped in his talons. She could see that Spike had been crying as well. He was clutching Rarity's Element slightly closer to his heart than the others.
Twilight looked at the Elements and did what anyone would do, she cried. She wept for her friends, for Equestria, and for herself. For once, Twilight was at an utter loss for an idea. She was usually the one to come up with a solution to any problem. Not this time. This time her mind was a complete blank. She looked at her wings and cried more. Even with her new found title, she couldn't do anything to help her friends. It was a feeling she had never known before, the feeling of being powerless. Powerless to save her friends, powerless to save Equestria, and powerless to save herself.
Celestia draped a wing over her former student and comforted her in her misery. Despite Twilight's anger at her former mentor, she hugged her mentor for dear life.
“Princess...what are we going to do?” she asked. Celestia broke the hug with Twilight and stood tall.
“Luna, given the situation, I believe it is time we use 'that' spell,” Celestia said looking at her sister. Luna's eyes widened with shock as she moved over to her sister.
“Sister, are you sure? We are uncertain whether it will work or not,” Luna said with apprehension.
“What are you talking about?” Twilight asked. Luna and Celestia looked at each other before Celestia nodded at Luna. Luna sighed at this but nonetheless went along with her sister's decision.
“Twilight, as you know you and you're friends are connected to the Elements. This means you are the only ones capable of using them,” Celestia said. Twilight looked sad at the mention of her friends, but her curiosity was now piqued.
“Yes, I know. Without my friends, we can't use the Elements,” Twilight said.
“A falsehood, young Sparkle,” Luna said. Twilight and Spike looked at the Princesses confused.
“What do you mean?”
“The power of the Elements are linked to you and your friends. However, this only applies to our world,” Celestia said. Twilight looked at them confused.
“As you know, there are other worlds beyond just Equestria. You yourself traveled to one when Sunset Shimmer stole your Element”. Twilight smiled at the memories of the human world and the alternate versions of her friends.
“I still hate remembering that. I mean why was I a dog the whole time?” Spike said, still holding a grudge at his time as a canine. Twilight shot him a glare and he quickly shut up.
“There exists a spell that allows one to summon a champion, or champions in our case, from another world to ours in times of great peril. If we use this spell, and Mother Faust willing they agree to help us and wield the Elements, we may be able to defeat Chrysalis and this Foundation X,” Celestia said.
Twilight thought about this idea. She was certainly intrigued by the idea of a summoning spell. In theory, it could work. She had been to another world before and knew that beings there could be nice. But there was one catch.
“Princess, what if these champions we summon are hostile, or what if they decide not to help us?” Twilight asked. Celestia looked at her student and smiled.
“That's just a risk we're going to have to take Twilight. Will you join me in this task?” Celestia asked.
Twilight looked at Spike, who was still holding the Elements. Twilight stood before Celestia and said “Of course. I can never forgive Chrysalis or this Foundation X. If there's any way I can help stop them, I'll do whatever is necessary of me. As both a Princess of Equestria and the Element of Magic!” Twilight said with confidence.
“You are truly of your title Princess Twilight. Now come my former student, we must make the preparations for the spell,” Celestia said as she, Twilight, Spike, and Luna all followed suit.
“I hope this works,” Twilight said as she followed her former teacher.
Will these champions help Twilight and Equestria? Will Chrysalis be stopped?

Chapter 2: The Riders Appear
Chapter 2
The Riders Appear
Twilight and Celestia stood on opposite sides of a giant magic circle in the center of one of the hidden rooms in the castle. In the center were the Elements of Harmony, sans Twilight's tiara. The circle was massive, with numerous runes and symbols decorating the edges and circumference.
Twilight looked at the circle nervously. From what she had read in her studies of magic, circles such as this were often used for very powerful and archaic magic. Magic that predated even the Princesses.
“Are you sure about this spell Princess, it seems a little...dangerous,” Twilight said as Celestia finished placing the final rune in place. Floating next to her was an extremely old book that looked to be bound in leather. That fact alone frightened Twilight. Celestia closed the book and let out a sigh.
“This is what the book says is required for the summoning along with the incantation. I will admit though, using a magic circle unnerves me. I have only used this type of magic once before, and only with Luna and Mother Faust along with me,” Celestia said.
“It kind of looks like something I read in one of those Neighponese manga. Full Metal...something,” Spike said.
“We have read that as well. We find it to be most enjoyable!” Luna said as she and Spike hoofbumped/fistbumped one another. Celestia and Twilight shook their heads at the two's antics.
“Well, now that everything is prepared, we should begin. The longer we wait, the more time we are giving Chrysalis and Foundation X. Are you ready Twilight?” Celestia asked.
“Remind me again why it's just you and I doing this and not Luna? She seems like she'd have a better grasp of this than me,” Twilight said.
“Our magic is weak at the moment. We were attacked by one of those monsters and sapped of most of our magic. We barely had enough to aid our sister in the teleportation spell. Our magic is returning, but it will take some time. For the moment, only you and sister are at full magical strength,” Luna said. Twilight looked terrified at this prospect. It was bad enough that these monsters were powerful, but knowing that some could steal magic power made her very uneasy. Not to mention Twilight had never attempted a spell of this kind of magnitude before. The spell she had used that earned her her title and wings looked like child's play compared to this spell.
Celestia put a hoof on Twilight's shoulder and smiled “Relax Twilight, I am sure we can handle this together. Now, let us begin,” Celestia said as she moved to the opposite side of the circle. Twilight breathed deeply and then let the breath out. She was still nervous, but she had to try. For her friends.
Twilight placed herself opposite Celestia on the circle “I'm ready Princess,” Twilight said with confidence. Celestia nodded as her and Twilight's horns began to glow. The runes began to glow along the circle as Celestia began to chant.
Spirits of Harmony hear my call!
We seek your aid, please do not stall!
From worlds unheard we call forth five heroes of courage and power!
To embody the powers of Loyalty, Kindness, Laughter, Generosity, Honesty who will not cower!
As Celestia chanted, the Elements of harmony began to glow in an ethereal light. Soon, Celestia and Twilight's eyes began to glow with an intense white light, raw magic coursing through them. Twilight repeated Celestia's words.
Spirits of Harmony hear my call!
We seek your aid, please do not stall!
From worlds unheard we call forth five heroes of courage and power!
To embody the powers of Loyalty, Kindness, Laughter, Generosity, Honesty who will not cower!
A portal began to open above the circle, shining in a multicolored light. The Elements began to shake with power and began to rise towards the portal. Twilight and Celestia then both spoke in an ancient language.
Nos peto suum suffragium in nostrum vicis of postulo!
Per Consensio to order nos dico thee continuo huic optimus res!
Videor, Champions!
As they completed the chant, the Elements were sucked into the portal as the room shook with power. When the Elements were sucked completely into the portal, the portal closed and sent a shock wave throughout the room, knocking Celestia, Twilight, Luna, and Spike against the walls.
Twilight and Celestia wearily stood, their bodies drained of magic and their fur slightly singed. They looked around to find that the Elements had disappeared, but the five champions were nowhere to be seen. All four frantically looked around, but found no sign of anyone or anything but the circle.
Twilight grew frustrated and punched the wall “WHY! We did everything that book said, so where are these champions!?” she yelled furiously.
Celestia flipped through the book, looking for an explanation of what could've gone wrong.
“This doesn't make any sense. We followed the spell to the letter. The size of the circle, the placement of the runes, the incantation, everything! Why did it fail?” Celestia said as they all looked down, their last hope seemingly gone.
Seemingly.
Meanwhile on Earth
Earth, a planet inhabited by the race known as Humans. Their history has been fraught with war and strife, but through it all they have survived.
As time went on, the relative peace of Humanity was threatened by many evils. Evil organizations, aliens, ancient monsters, and even their own people. However, wherever evil arose there stood those ready to fight and preserve peace and harmony.
These courageous heroes are known as the Kamen Riders.
High above the sky on Earth, a giant portal opened up. From it came five lights that flew across the sky like shooting stars. However, where one can never know where a shooting star may land, these stars had a specific destination.
These five lights were the Elements of Harmony, and unbeknownst to the world, they were about to gain five new bearers.
Fuuto, the Windy City
Hidari Shotaro, a private detective who strives to live his life in a “Hard-Boiled” way, and his partner Phillip, a man possessing all the knowledge in the world, entered their home, the Narumi Detective agency.
“Ah, another boring missing pet case. Why can't I ever get anything more exciting?” Shotaro questioned as he plopped down in his chair. Phillip sat down as well and began to flip through his ever present book, pages blank.
“Are you sure about that Shotaro? You wouldn't want more Dopants to be running around the city would you?” Phillip said. Shotaro scoffed at his partner.
“Of course I wouldn't! I'm just saying I'm getting tired of nothing but boring case after boring case. It's been nothing but missing pets for so long. I need something more exciting, something that fits a hard-boiled man like myself,” he said tracing his finger along the brim of his hat. Phillip closed his book and sighed.
“If you're that bored then why not just move to a different city?” Phillip asked.
“What did you say?” Shotaro said, a dangerous edge to his voice.
“You heard me. Why not pack up shop and move to another city that requires your services. It's not like we've got much here anymore anyway. Akiko's married to Terui Ryu, and he can handle any problems that would arise on his own. So really there's no more need for us to OOMF!” Phillip said as Shotaro punched him. As he rubbed his face, Shotaro grabbed him by the shirt.
“I can't believe I even need to explain to you why that's never gonna happen. This city is my garden, my home. This is where my life is, my memories of the Boss. Terui may be a Kamen Rider too, but this city has and always will be under my protection. I refuse to let anyone in this city cry. You should know that by now, Phillip,” Shotaro said as he released Phillip. Phillip rubbed his face and merely stared at Shotaro. He sometimes forgot just how passionate Shotaro could be, and how committed he was to his duty as a Kamen Rider and detective. He noticed that Shotaro had his hand extended. Phillip smiled and took his hand.
“Just the kind of half-boiled response I'd expect from you Shotaro,” Phillip said.
“Oh shut up,” Shotaro said as the two smiled.
Suddenly, a bright light smashed through their window and landed at their feet. Both covered their eyes as the light slowly died down to reveal a gold necklace with a ruby lightning bolt jewel placed on it. Both looked at it confused.
“What the hell is that thing?” Shotaro said bending down to get a better look at it, Phillip doing the same.
”I don't know. How thrilling,” he said as a large smile spread across his face. Both of them reached for the necklace, and as they grabbed hold of it they suddenly felt themselves being lifted into a strange portal.
Too late to do anything, all they did was scream in surprise as they were sucked into the strange portal.
Somewhere in Africa
The sun shone brightly on a small village nestled in the desert. Children played as the adults went about there everyday business.
In the distance, a figure could be seen walking through the desert toward the village. The figure looked to be dressed in baggy, bohemian style clothing. The oddest thing about the figure however was the large pole he was carrying with a pair of underwear hanging from them.
This figure was Hino Eiji, better known as Kamen Rider OOO. Eiji walked into the village, getting strange looks from it's inhabitants as they had never seen someone like him before, more so about the fact that he carried his underwear on a pole.
Eiji made his way to the town center where a large well was placed. Eiji approached the well, his body dripping with sweat.
Eiji turned to one of the villagers and asked “May I have a drink?”
The villager, a bit taken aback that he knew the language, nodded. Eiji retrieved the water from the well and took a long drink. When he was finished, he turned to the villager and bowed.
“Thank you very much. If I may pardon you again, I was wondering if you know of a man called Zanza?” Eiji asked.
The villager nodded and said “Zanza is our local medicine man. Why are you looking for him stranger?”
Eiji reached into his pocket and pulled out two broken pieces of a coin. The coin was strange though as it was red and appeared to have the image of a hawk embossed on it.
“I was told Zanza knew some about ancient magic and history. I was hoping he could help me repair this,” Eiji said, looking at the coin with a sad smile. The villager could see the coin was important to Eiji and pointed his finger toward the far end of the village.
“Zanza lives in a hut down towards the far side of the village. Can't miss it,” he said.
Eiji smiled and bowed “Thank you very much,” he said before heading off to see Zanza.
Eiji looked down at the coin one more time, remembering his promise to his friend Ankh.
“Ankh, I will find a way to restore you to normal. I swear,” Eiji thought. Eiji's thoughts were interrupted as he heard a troubled cry. He turned toward the cry to find a boy that had fallen down and scraped his knee. Eiji rushed over to the boy and asked “Are you okay?”
The boy shook his head, looking down at his knee and crying in pain. Eiji thought of what he could do, then snapped his fingers as he proceeded to rip part of his shirt off and wrapped it around the boy's leg as a bandage. He helped the boy to his feet.
“Are you gonna be okay?” Eji asked. The boy nodded and smiled.
“Thank you mister,” the boy said. Eiji patted him on the head and sen the boy off to play.
As Eiji was about to head back out to see Zanza, a bright object fell form the sky and landed in front of him. After the dust cleared, Eiji looked to see what had fallen. What he found was a gold necklace with a pink butterfly shaped jewel on it. Eiji looked at the necklace in confusion.
“What could this be?” he said as he picked it up. Shortly after, the necklace began to glow as Eiji was suddenly sucked up into a portal. As the dust cleared, nothing was left of Eiji but his underwear still hanging on it's pole.
Somewhere Near Amanogawa High School
“Man I'm tired!! That class sure was tough,” Gentarou said as he exited the community college he was taking courses at. After an odd encounter with his future self and a man calling himself Wizard, Gentarou had decided on becoming a teacher. It was his second year of college and Gentarou had made lots of new friends.
Since the Zodiarts incident, the members of the Kamen Rider Club had lead relatively peaceful lives. Kengo and Yuki had gone into studying cosmic energy and the astronaut program respectively. Shun was fully committed to American football, Miu was working to become a model, JK was working as a journalist, and Tomoko was trying to become a writer.
Gentarou stretched as he prepared to head home for the day. As he walked along, he looked around him and smiled at how peaceful everything had become. Gentarou missed the days of fighting monsters and saving people, but he was more than enjoying the peace.
As he walked, he noticed one of his classmates sitting down on a bench alone. She looked like she had been crying. Gentarou saw this and immediately ran up to her.
“Yo, Misaki,” Gentarou said as he approached the woman. The woman looked up at Gentarou in surprise before calming down at recognizing him.
“Oh, it's only you Gentarou-san,” she said as she wiped a few stray tears from her eyes.
“What's wrong, something happen?” Gentarou said as he sat down next to her. Misaki opened her mouth to make up some excuse, but found herself opening up to Gentarou.
“Well, it's just.....it's my birthday and none of my friends remembered. Plus, I haven't even gotten a call from my parents yet. Some birthday huh,” Misaki said as she wiped another tear. She looked over to see that Gentarou was crying himself but shaking in anger. As he wiped the tears from his eyes, he let out a yell of anger.
“Unforgivable! I won't forgive those who make their friend's cry!” Gentarou said as he proceeded to frantically search through his bag. Misaki looked at him in confusion before he produced a wrapped bun with the words “Happy Birthday” scrawled on the packing with a marker.
“Here. I know it's not much, but Happy Birthday Misaki. Go on, take it,” he said as he gave her the bun. Misaki wiped the tears from from her eyes and smiled at Gentarou.
“Thank you Gentarou-san. You always know how to make someone smile,” Misaki said as she took the bun.
Gentarou smiled and said “Of course, I'm Kisaragi Gentarou, the man who will befriend the whole world”. Gentarou followed up this statement by tapping his fist against his chest and pointing a finger at Misaki. Misaki smiled and gave Gentarou a hug. This took Gentarou by surprise, but he hugged her back.
Misaki broke the hug and smiled at Gentarou “Thank you Gentarou-kun. See you,” she said winking at him. Gentarou blushed and waved at her. He smiled at himself, proud that he made a friend smile.
“Well, time to..” he began to say as a blinding light suddenly fell from the sky and landed in his hand. As the light died down, Gentarou looked to find that a necklace with a blue balloon jewel was in his hand.
“What the heck is this?” Gentarou asked before he too was sucked into the portal, his bag dropping to the ground abandoned.
Donut Shop Hungry
“Thank you for waiting Haru-kun!” the Shop Owner said as he placed a tray of plain sugar donuts in front of Hungry's few regular customers, Haruto Souma, the ring bearing mage, Kamen Rider Wizard.
“Thank you,” Haruto said as he bit into one of the donuts. As Haruto ate, he enjoyed being able to eat Hungry's donuts again. After being away for almost a year searching for a place where Koyomi's spirit could rest in peace, Haruto had returned to his friends and had been living in relative peace.
Haruto bit into another donut and sighed in content “Man it's good to be back,” he said. As Haruto ate, he looked around at the people milling about. Couples on dates, parents with their children, and children playing. AS he watched, his eyes fixated on a boy staring intently at a doll in the store window. Haruto watched as the boy pulled out some money from his pocket, then hung his head as he apparently didn't have enough. Haruto set down his donut and walked over to the boy.
“Oi, boy,” Haruto said getting the boy's attention. The boy turned to Haruto, a sad look on his face.
“Did you want to get that doll?” Haruto asked. The boy nodded and turned to look at the doll.
“My sister's been in the hospital for a few months and I wanted to get her something special for her birthday. But I don't have enough money,” the boy said as he looked down sadly.
Haruto smiled and patted the boy on the shoulder.
“I think that's a very kind thing to want to do for your sister. Here,” Haruto said handing the boy some money.
“This should be enough for you to get that doll for your sister,” Haruto said as the boy's eyes lit up.
“Thank you so much mister! Who are you?” the boy asked. Haruto lifted his left hand, showing off one of his rings.
“Just your friendly neighborhood mage. Now go, get that doll for your sister,” Haruto said as he walked back to his donuts. The Store Owner smiled at Haruto and said “That was so nice of you Haru-kun”. Haruto bowed and went back to eating his donuts.
At least, he would have if a blinding purple light didn't crash into his table, crushing his donuts in the process. Haruto stood there dumbfounded as he fell to his knees, grabbing at one of the crushed remains of one of his donuts.
“My...donuts..” Haruto said, a slight tear rolling down his face. Haruto's face then became angry as he looked into the crater to find what had crushed his donuts. He was a little more than surprised to find a necklace with a purple diamond-shaped jewel on it to be the cause of his donuts' demise. Haruto picked it up and examined it.
“What's this,” he said as a familiar portal opened up and sucked him up. The Store Owner looked at the scene in shock.
“Haru-kun?” he said as he frantically looked for the missing mage.
Zawame City
“Come on, I need a job,” said Kazuraba Kouta as he complained to the owner of a convenience store who was refusing to hire him.
“Sorry kid, but I don't want my business to be ruined by having one you Beat Riders working here,” the manager said.
“I keep trying to tell you all that the Beat Riders aren't to blame. It's all Yggdrasil, I swear!” Kouta said in his defense. For the last few months, Zawame City had been victim to attacks by monsters known as Inves. Many people thought the cause was the Beat Riders, dance teams who used to have battles involving the Inves.
This however is not true. The Inves come from the world of Helheim, entering Earth through Cracks. Helheim was slowly taking hold of the Earth, but not without opposition. Kouta and most of the other Armored Riders were trying their hardest to fight the Inves and uncover Yggdrasil's plans. However, their efforts have not helped much.
“Listen kid, I'm sure you're nice and all, but I don't want any of my customers getting hurt cause of you fighting those monsters. Now get out,” he said.
Kouta tried to say something in his defense, but could not. People were getting hurt more and more from Inves attacks, and Kouta was one of the few Riders who were actively fighting them. He wanted to say nothing would happen, but he couldn't guarantee it.
Frustrated, he said “Fine, I'll leave,” and stomped off.
“It's not my fault the Inves are attacking people. It's all Yggdrasil's fault, them and their stupid secrets,” Kouta mumbled to himself as he trudged along the streets, his bag filled with resumes.
“The Beat Riders are beyond the Inves game now, why can't people just wake up and see that!?” Kouta said as he slammed his fist against a wall. After Kouta's anger subsided, he took a deep breath and sighed.
“Well, nothing I can do except keep trying and fighting till the world is at peace. I can't give up,” Kouta said as he continued to walk along the streets, eventually making his way back to Team Gaim's garage.
As he was about to walk in the door, however, a blinding orange light crashed into the street behind him. Kouta immediately went to investigate. Expecting an Inves attack to be the cause he put on his Sengoku Driver and pulled out his Orange Lock Seed.
When he got to the crater, he didn't find an Inves but rather a necklace with an orange apple shaped jewel on it. Kouta put his belt and Lock Seed away and picked up the strange necklace.
“What's this thing?” he asked before a portal suddenly opened above him. Kouta had no time to react as he was sucked into the portal, his bag dropping to the ground and his resumes being strewn everywhere.
Back in Equestria
“Let's try the spell again, maybe we did something wrong,” Twilight suggested. Celestia shook her head.
“The spell must have worked, otherwise the Elements of Harmony would still be here,” Celestia said, sighing in defeat.
“That spell was our last hope. I'm out of ideas,” Celestia said as she sat down, trying her best to hold back tears of frustration. Luna walked up to her sister and draped a wing over her.
“Do not despair dear sister. Though the spell has failed, we must not give up. We have faced worse than Chrysalis and this Foundation X, and we have always prevailed. We will do the same this time,” Luna said in a rare display of hopefulness. Celestia smiled at her sister and gave her a hug.
“Thank you Luna. We'll just have to keep fighting until we prevail,” Celestia said with enthusiasm. Twilight and Spike joined them, confident they would find a solution.
Luckily they wouldn't have to think for long, as they felt the room start to shake. The runes on the circle began to glow as five portals opened up above them. Twilight, Spike, Celestia, and Luna covered their eyes as the light and shaking grew more intense.
As they thought the room would break, suddenly something began to come through the portals. One by one, figures began to drop from the portals, the portals closing as the figure dropped. When the final figure dropped, the room stopped shaking and the light died down.
Twilight was the first to look at the figures, and was shocked at what was in front of her. In front of her were six figures, each one grumbling in annoyance and pain. She saw that they looked like the creatures that were with Chrysalis, except they were not dressed in white coats. One of the figures, who appeared to be dressed in a purple shirt, black vest, and a black hat atop its head, stood up and dusted himself off.
“What the heck was that all about!?” Shotaro yelled, cracking his neck. Phillip stood up next to him and examined his book to see if it was damaged.
“It would appear we've been transported to another world. How thrilling,” Phillip said, Shotaro shooting him a glare.
“Shotaro, Phillip?” Eiji said as he stood up. Shotaro and Phillip looked over to see their ally Eiji.
“Eiji, what are you doing here?” Shotaro asked. He looked to see that along with him were Gentarou, Haruto, and Kouta.
“I think we could all ask that same question,”Haruto said as he dusted himself off, examining one of his rings.
“Woah!! Sempai and Kouhai KITA!!!!!” Gentarou said as he proceeded to shake the hands of his fellow Riders. Kouta looked at all of them confused.
“You guys? Are we fighting the Showa Riders again? I thought we settled things already,” Kouta said as he recognized his fellow Heisei Riders.
“I don't think so Kouta. Although I do want to know why we're here as well,” Eiji said as they all looked at each other, all of them equally confused.
“Um..excuse me?” Twilight said. The six of them turned their heads and went wide eyed at seeing Twilight.
“EHHHHH!!??” they all said, there confusion growing as they also noticed Celestia, Luna, and Spike standing behind her.
“W-w-what?” Shotaro said.
“A talking unicorn, how very thrilling,” Phillip said.
“What in the world?” Eiji said.
“Ah!!!! That's a unicorn!! And it's purple, and talks!!!!” Gentarou yelled.
“Huh!?” Haruto said. Kouta merely stood there completely at a loss for words.
Twilight tried stepping towards, only to have them all take a step back.
“Who are you!? What is this place!?” Gentarou said. Celestia stepped forward and cleared her throat.
“I am Celestia, Co-Ruler of this land Equestria. Are you the champions we have called for?” Celestia asked. They all looked at each other confused before Kouta stepped forward.
“Um, white horse thing”.
“Celestia if you would be so kind”.
“Right. Celestia, what do you mean by champions?” Kouta asked.
“Our land is in grave danger. An old foe has brought us to the edge of destruction. We do not have the power on our own the combat her, so we have called five champions here to assist us. We humbly ask for your help, oh brave champions,” Celestia said, bowing to the six of them. They all knew there was six of them, but they didn't want to say anything.
The Riders all looked at each other, trying to figure out what to say. When Twilight saw their hesitation, she stepped forward and bowed as well.
“Please champions, I beg of you. We need you to wield the Elements of Harmony to aid us in our fight. Please!” Twilight said. The Riders all looked at each other confused.
“Elements of Harmony?” Kouta said as he reached in his pocket and brought out the necklace from earlier. When the other Riders saw the necklace, they all brought out their own respective necklaces. Twilight lit up at seeing the Elements.
“Yes, that's them. I knew you would be able to help us,” Twilight said as she jumped up and down around the Riders. Haruto put a hand on her head to stop her from jumping.
“Woah, hold on a second. We don't know anything about this world or these Elements of Harmony. How do we know you're not just trying to trick us?” Haruto asked. Twilight looked at him in confusion, a hint of sadness in her eyes.
“What?” she said.
“I agree with Wizard. How do we know you're not just making all this up to get us to fight your war for you,” Shotaro said. Spike ran up to him and kicked him in the shin, causing Shotaro to scream in pain.
“Oi! You little...dragon?” he said.
“Don't you dare call Twilight a liar you....whatever you are,” Spike said as he lifted his leg to kick him again. Fortunately, Luna pulled him back with her magic.
“Now now, let's all just calm down. Miss Twilight, this does all seem rather sudden. I think we need some time to think about this,” Eiji said. Twilight looked at the Riders in shock.
Finally, Twilight could take no more. She broke down and cried. The Riders all looked at her confused.
“Please, I'm begging you!! You're our last hope!! Chrysalis has teamed up with some weird people called Foundation X. My friends and I tried to stop her, but they were too powerful!! Please, my friends...my friends..they.......” Twilight cried her eyes out. If the Riders refused to help her, then all was lost.
Shotaro and Phillip looked at her with utter seriousness “Did you say Foundation X?” said Shotaro.
“Yes. Chrysalis, an old enemy of ours, has teamed up with this Foundation X to take over this land. Do you know of them?” Celestia said as Spike tried to comfort Twilight. Shotaro balled his fist in rage and punched a wall.
“Those Foundation X bastards! I thought we'd seen the last of them,” Shotaro said with rage. Celestia and Luna backed away before Phillip cleared his throat and stepped forward.
“I believe I can shed some light on this subject. Foundation X is an evil organization from our world. They have been the main cause behind many evil deeds. Using the Earth's memories to make Gaia Memories to turn people into Dopants, bringing the dead back to life, and funding the research into Astro Switches, Core Medals, and countless other things. They're merchants of death,” Phillip said, gripping his book in rage. Celestia and Luna looked shocked at Phillip's explanation of Foundation X's practices.
Shotaro walked over to the crying Twilight. Spike shot him a glare, but was surprised at what Shotaro did next. He took off his hat and placed it on Twilight's head.
“Dry your tears Twilight, we will help you,” Shotaro said. Twilight looked up at him, eyes stained with tears.
“You..you'll help us? Really?” she said hopefully.
Shotaro nodded “If Foundation X is causing other to shed tears, then I will kick their asses! This may not be Fuuto, but I refuse to let anyone of you cry,” Shotaro said as he adjusted his vest. Phillip stood next to his partner with a serious look on his face.
“I agree. We won't let Foundation X have their way anymore,” Phillip said, earning a smile from his partner.
“Me too. If Foundation X is the cause behind all of this, then I'll do whatever I can to stop them,” Eiji said.
Gentarou shook with rage as he let out a loud yell “AAGGHHH!!! Those punks!! How dare they mess with friendship!!!!!! I'll kick their asses!!!!!” Gentarou said as he walked over to Twilight.
“Oi, purple horse, don't you worry. Kisaragi Gentarou is here to help,” Gentarou said as he proceeded to do his trademark friendship handshake with Twilight, albeit with some difficulty considering Twilight had hooves.
Haruto looked at one of his rings and turned to Twilight “I wouldn't be much of a final hope if I turned my back on someone in need. I'm in,” he said.
“Me too! I don't know much about this Foundation X, but if they're anything as bad as Yggdrasil, then I'm not gonna let them have their way!” Kouta said. The Riders all gathered around Twilight and extended their hands.
“You have our support Twilight. We will help you in any way we can,” Shotaro said.
Twilight looked at the Riders in a mixture of happiness and disbelief. These people, who have never met her before or knew anything about her world, were willing to put their lives on the line to help her. These six people were true heroes.
Twilight found her eyes welling up with tears again “Thank you! Thank you so much!!” Twilight said, tears flowing. Celestia went up to her and gave her a comforting hug. After calming down her former student she looked at the Riders and smiled.
“Equestria thanks you brave champions. If I may ask, what should we call you?” Celestia asked.
All of them smiled.
“We're the heroes of justice,” Shotaro said.
“The heroes of peace,” Phillip.
“The protectors of all worlds,” Eiji said.
“Protectors of the innocent,” Gentarou said.
“The final hope for those without any,” Haruto said.
“The final defense against all evil,” Kouta said.
All the Riders stood in a line and held up their respective transformation items. Shotaro and Phillip with their Gaia Memories, Eiji with a Core Medal, Gentarou with an Astro Switch, Haruto with one of his rings, and Kouta with a Lock Seed.
“We're Kamen Riders!” they all said in unison. Twilight, Celestia, Luna, and Spike looked at the six in awe.
Finally, Celestia said “Well then, brave Kamen Riders, prepare yourselves. For soon, we take back Canterlot!”
The Kamen Riders agree to aid Equestria in their fight against Chrysalis and Foundation X.
Will they succeed?

Chapter 3: Plans and Henshins
Chapter 3
Plans and Henshins
“Let us out of here right now Chrysalis!” Rainbow Dash said as she she struggled against her bonds. Pinkie, Rarity, Fluttershy, and Applejack all did the same, trying in vain to escape. Chrysalis laughed at them and paced around their trapped forms. Each of the Mane Six was restrained against a cold metal examination table as members of Foundation X examined them.
“You five really are pathetic to think you could beat me. My enhanced changelings have more power than you could ever imagine. I will admit it was rather fun to see them stomp you and those fool Princesses into the dirt,” Chrysalis said as she laughed.
The Foundation X scientists continued to examine the five. Fluttershy looked to be on the verge of tears. Chrysalis saw this and grabbed Fluttershy's face.
“Don't worry my dear, they're just making a few observations for...let's call it makeover,” Chrysalis said as a few tears escaped Fluttershy's eyes.
“You won't get away with this Chrysalis,” Rainbow Dash said.
“That's right, Twilight and the Princesses will put a stop to you and this Foundation X,” Rarity said.
“Yeah! Twilight's gonna whoop your flank into the next season!” Pinkie said.
“You'll get what's comin' to ya', ya' dang bug!” Applejack said.
Chrysalis laughed at the Mane Six as she looked them over.
"Oh, I'm sure little Twilight is already brainstorming some heroic attempt to save you. I know from experience that brat is full of surprises. But this time...I have some surprises of my own."
“So, Princesses, what's the plan?” Twilight asked. Everyone had gathered in the castle's library to discuss their plan of attack.
"First things first is we need to meet up with Captain Armor and his forces. Luna, have you had any contact from him?” Celestia said.
Luna produced a scroll “We received a message from him saying himself and his forces from the Crystal Empire were on their way to our location as quickly as they could,” Luna said.
“Is Cadence coming as well?” Twilight asked. Luna shook her head.
“Princess Cadence has chosen to remain behind in the Crystal Empire in case Chrysalis decides to mount an attack”.
“I'm betting that wasn't an easy decision. I imagine she would've liked to settle things with Chrysalis herself,” Celestia said.
“Indeed. Setting that aside, we still need to find a way to get back to Canterlot quickly,” Luna said.
“You guys said you could teleport right? Why can't you just do that?” Gentarou asked.
“To teleport all of us to Canterlot would require immense magical energy, of which we have little. We have expended most of our magic bringing thou here. Not to mention we are unsure how teleportation would affect thou brave Kamen Riders,” Luna said.
“Oh,” Gentarou said, feeling slightly embarrassed.
“We can figure that out once Shining Armor and his force arrive. For now, Twilight, why don't you explain the Elements of Harmony to our new friends,” Celestia said.
“Yeah, what exactly are these Elements. They seem pretty important,” Kouta said.
Twilight cleared her throat “The Elements of Harmony are a set of six magic relics of great power. Each Element corresponds to an aspect of friendship: Loyalty, Kindness, Laughter, Generosity, Honesty, and my Element, Magic. The Elements hold great magic power, giving whoever wields them immense strength. The Elements used to be bonded to the Princesses, but for almost a year now my friends and I have wielded the Elements to protect Equestria,” she said taking a breath. The Riders each looked at their Elements, realizing just what kind of power they now wielded. Twilight walked up to Shotaro and Phillip and saw their Element.
“You two hold the Element of Loyalty, for one who will remain loyal to their friends no matter what. Although, I must admit I'm a bit confused as to why you both are wielding it. Elements are only supposed to have one bearer,” Twilight said. Shotaro and Phillip both smirked.
“The two of us are one. One detective, and one Kamen Rider. I guess that also applies to being the two in one bearer of a magic necklace,” Shotaro said. Twilight raised an eyebrow at the two, but decided to not pursue the issue at that time. She then walked over to Eiji.
“You possess the Element of Kindness, for one who possesses kindness for all creatures great and small and values peace”.
Eiji smiled and said “Thank you”. Twilight then walked over to Gentarou.
“You hold the Element of Laughter, for one who strives to keep their friends happy and never wants to see them despair”.
“Of course! I am the man who will befriend the whole world. I hate to see my buds down in the dumps,” Gentarou said.
“Perfect fit this one,” Twilight thought. Twilight walked over to Haruto.
“You possess the Element of Generosity, for one who will help people however possible in whatever endeavor they choose”.
Haruto smirked and bowed, saying “Well, I am the final hope after all. Helping people's kind of in the job description”.
Finally, Twilight came upon Kouta “Finally, you possess the Element of Honesty, held by one who no matter the situation, will remain honest and always tell the truth”.
Kouta looked at his Element and then at his Lock Seed “Orange necklace, Orange Lock Seed, kinda fits I suppose,” he said. Twilight looked at the six and smiled.
“Thank you all for agreeing to help us. That said though, I do have a question,” she said.
“Alright, what is it?” Haruto asked. Twilight looked down nervously, unsure how to phrase her question.
“Well, and no offense.....you guys don't exactly look like world saving heroes,” Twilight said. The Riders all deflated at her comment.
“Come again?” Shotaro said.
“Well....you guys keep saying you're these heroes of justice and all that. What exactly is a Kamen Rider, what can you guys do?” Twilight asked. The Riders looked slightly insulted, but understood her confusion.
Haruto cleared his throat and said “Well, looking past the slightly rude comment, this isn't what we look like when we fight”. Twilight perked up at this.
“Really? How so?” Twilight said. The Riders, sans Haruto each reached behind their backs and produced their respective Drivers. Twilight and the Princesses looked at the belts in a mix of confusion and curiosity.
“What are those?” Celestia asked.
“These are what we use to transform. When we wear these belts, we become encased in armor that allows us to fight monsters,” Phillip explained.
“Really? That's awesome! So you guys are like superheroes!!” Spike said.
“That's right!” Gentarou said.
“Would it be possible to see a demonstration?” Celestia said.
“I don't see why not. The question now is who should do it?” Eiji said. Before any of them could say anything, Haruto placed his right hand over his waist.
DRIVER ON, PLEASE!
Immediately his belt appeared around his waist. The Riders all looked at the mage confused.
“What? I figured since magic is what brought us here, I should be the one to demonstrate how our powers work,” Haruto said. The other Riders tried to argue with him, but in the end decided to let him go.
“Well then, it's showtime,” Haruto said as he flipped the hand on his belt over to the left side, a jingle playing from his belt as he did so.
SHABADOOBIE, TATCHI HENSHIN!
Haruto held up his left hand, displaying his Flame Style ring.
“Henshin!” he yelled as he flipped the visor over the ring and placed it on his belt.
FLAME, PLEASE! HII, HII, HII, HII, HII!
As Haruto's belt rang out, a magic circle appeared on his left side. Haruto extended his left hand as he passed through the circle. Within seconds, he had transformed into his base form, Flame Style.
Spike and the three Princesses jaws dropped at his display. Red jewels shining across his chest and helmet, Wizard raised his left hand and showed off his ring.
“And that's how it's done,” Haruto said, bowing to his audience.
“That was...that was.....”
“AWESOME!!! I've never seen magic like that before!” Spike said.
“We must agree with the young drake. Your form is most impressive,” Luna said.
“Why thank you,” Haruto said.
“How does it work?” Celestia asked.
“It's actually pretty simple. You see,” Haruto began to say before the doors to the library burst open. They all looked to see Shining Armor standing in the doorway in full battle armor.
“Princesses, forgive me for not getting here sooner. We were delayed by...” it was only then that he noticed Wizard and the other Riders standing there. Eyes growing wide, he leaped in front of the Princesses, his horn glowing.
“Get back Princesses, I'll handle these monsters!” Shining Armor said as he fired a bolt of magic at Wizard. Wizard immediately placed a ring on his left hand and activated his belt.
DEFEND, PLEASE!
A magic circle appeared in front of Wizard, absorbing Shining Armor's attack.
“Woah now, take it easy. We're not,” Wizard tried to say as Shining Armor fired another attack. Again Wizard used his Defend ring.
“Shiny, stop! They're not with Chrysalis!” Twilight tried to say. Unfortunately her brother was in full battle mode, meaning the only thing his mind was defeating the enemy.
“No choice, gotta go on the attack,” Wizard said as he rolled out of the way of Shining Armor's attacks and slipped two new rings onto his hands. Wizard flipped his belt and placed his left hand over it.
WATER, PLEASE! SUI, SUI, SUI, SUI!
Wizard's armor changed from circular rubies to diamond shaped sapphires. Wizard then flipped his belt back to the right side and used another ring.
LIQUID, PLEASE!
Wizard's body changed into a liquid mass, which then flew at Shining Armor, surrounding the armored unicorn. Wizard's body changed back into his armored form, now restraining Shining Armor.
“Calm down Captain, we're not the enemy!” Wizard yelled. Shining Armor struggled against Wizard's grip.
“Like Tartarus! You fit Princess Luna's description of those monster perfectly. Bipedal, strange appearance, able to use magic we've never seen. Give me one good reason I shouldn't blast you straight to Tartarus!” Shining Armor said as he teleported out of Wizard's grip, appearing a few feet away. As Shining Armor charged his horn for another attack and Wizard placed another ring on his hand, Twilight stepped in between them.
“Shining Francis Armor you stop this now!” Twilight yelled. Shining's face went red at the mention of his middle name.
“Francis?” Wizard said as he snickered, as did the other Riders and the Princesses.
“Twily what are you doing, get out of the way!” Shining Armor said. Twilight looked annoyed at her brother and stood tall.
“As a Princess of Equestria I command you to stand down Captain Armor. These people are not our enemies. In fact, they are here to help us. Now stand down!” Twilight said. Shining looked at his sister in shock. Never once had she ever used his middle name in an argument with him, and he certainly never would've expected her to use her new title in such a way.
Begrudgingly, Shining Armor obeyed his sister's wishes “As you command Princess,” Shining said, staring daggers at Wizard as the purple aura around his horn diminished.
Everyone let out a collective sigh, relieved the battle had ended.
Celestia walked up to her student and patted her on the shoulder “Good job Twilight, although I will admit using your brother's middle name like that was playing a bit dirty,” she said. Twilight blushed and apologized. Celestia smiled and walked over to Shining Armor.
“It is good to see you Captain Armor. I appreciate your willingness to protect us, but your rash actions are unfitting of your rank. You should know better than to go into a fight without asking questions first,” she berated. Shining Armor bowed his head in shame.
“Forgive me my lady,” Shining Armor said in shame.
“Rise Captain Armor, you are forgiven,” Celestia said smiling.
Wizard crossed his arms as a magic circle passed over him, his armor disappearing to reveal Haruto's normal appearance.
“That's one way to make introductions I suppose,” Haruto said as he cricked his neck. Shining Armor looked at Haruto with malice and began to walk over to him. Twilight however stood in his way.
“Calm down Shiny! I told you, these six are here to help us,” Twilight said trying to calm her brother down.
“Whatever, I'm just glad you're safe Twily,” Shining said as he hugged his sister, his expression softening. Twilight hugged her brother back and smiled.
After Shining Armor calmed down, Twilight explained to him how she and Celestia had summoned the Riders to help and how they now wielded the remaining Elements.
Shining was less than thrilled.
“So we're just supposed to trust these Riders or whatever to fight for us? How do we know they aren't just deceiving us and they're really working with Chrysalis and Foundation X!?” Shining Armor yelled. Twilight responded by smacking her brother upside the head.
“Would you calm down already! Look Shiny, I know that this is all a bit difficult to understand. Trust me, I was surprised at first too. But the Riders are trustworthy, otherwise the Elements wouldn't have chosen them,” Twilight said. Shining tried to refute his sister's argument, but found he could not. There was a reason she was the smarter of the two siblings in terms of arguments. It was part of the reason they had few if any fights, because Shining Armor knew he could never win an argument with Twilight. Not to mention she could pull out the puppy dog eyes at the drop of a hat.
“I still don't trust them,” Shining Armor said.
“Oi, Shiny!” Gentarou said walking over to him.
“Only Twilight and Cadence get to call me that!” Shining Armor said blushing a bit.
“Whatever. Look, I don't like your attitude. But I can look past that to work with you. Want to know why,” Gentarou said.
“Why?”
Gentarou slicked back his pompadour then pounded his fist against his chest and pointed at Shining Armor.
“Because, I'm Kisaragi Gentarou, the man who will befriend everyone. That includes jerks like you. So let's get along,” Gentarou said as he extended his hand. Shining looked at Gentarou with a level of confusion he thought only Twilight's friend Pinkie Pie could produce.
Shining ignored Gentarou and said “Foolishness aside, we need to think of a battle plan”. Gentarou, to his credit, held his composure. He knew gaining new friends wasn't easy, and that he would be friends with Shining Armor eventually.
“The first thing we need is a way to get back to Canterlot. The railway is too risky, and taking an airship would be even riskier,” Celestia said.
“That's not altogether true,” Shining Armor said. Everyone looked at him confused.
“What do you mean Captain Armor?” Celestia asked. Shining Armor rose from his seat and motioned for the group to follow.
“Come outside and you'll see,” Shining Armor said as he led the group outside.
“WOOAAAHHH!!!!!!! AWESOME!!!!” Gentarou yelled as he took in the sight that was before them. In the air above the old castle was a massive warship. It looked very much like an airship one would see being used in many parts of Equestria. However, the outer hull of the ship was made out of a mixture of metal and crystal. The balloon atop it looked to be made out of some strange type of material none of them could recognize.
Needless to say, everyone was impressed.
“A beauty isn't she?” Shining Armor said. Everyone nodded, unable to comprehend what they were seeing.
Finally, Celestia spoke “Captain Armor, what is this ship?”
“This my Princess is the Mark XVII Equestrian Battleship. Or just the XVII for short,” Shining Armor said. Gentarou was giddy with joy.
“AWESOME!!! That reminds me, I wonder how XVII is doing? Probably making lots of friends in space. Hope he doesn't forget his friends on Earth,” Gentarou said with a smile. Everyone looked at Gentarou with a confused look. He noticed and took on a knowing look.
“Oh! Sorry, that name reminded of my friend XVII from my world. Although he was a bit more impressive,” Gentarou said bluntly. Shining heard this and fumed at the pompadoured human.
“Oh really? And what is this other XVII you speak so highly of? Because I can assure you my XVII is the best ship in all of Equestria,” Shining said, annoyance prevalent in his tone.
“XVII's a giant space station with a consciousness. He and I became friends after I stopped a pair of robot siblings from trying to blow up the Earth. Oh, and he can also turn into a giant robot!” Gentarou said with a happy smile on his face.
Everyone sans the other Riders looked at Gentarou, the most confused looks ever seen on a pony on their faces. Shining looked like his brain had shut off and he just stood motionless.
“What kind of world do you people live in?” Twilight asked.
“A very strange one evidently,” Luna said.
“You have no idea,” Haruto said.
Shining shook his head, breaking from his stupor.
“Crazy stories aside, the XVII can travel at speeds no other airship can match. It's also got a magic stone acting as the fuel source. All it needs to refill is a bit of unicorn magic,” Shining said with pride.
“It's amazing. But, where'd you get it Shiny?” Twilight asked.
“I've been designing this ship since I was a recruit. Being a Prince has left me with a lot of down time, so I decided to finally build it. With permission from Cadance of course,” Shining said, sweating at the memory of his wife seeing the bill for this massive project. He was stuck on the couch for a month after that.
“It's an excellent ship Captain Armor. This will certainly help against Chrysalis,” she said. Shining Armor bowed.
“The guards and I will do our best to help stop that evil mind controlling roach,” Shining said, some malice in his voice. Being mind controlled and almost forced to marry an evil changeling queen will do that to a guy.
“Don't forget about us Captain,” Shotaro said as the Riders waved at Shining Armor. Shining Armor scowled at the six and walked up to them.
“Listen well you...whatever you are. I trust you six about as far as I can throw you. However, since you have the Elements and my sister and the Princesses trust you, I'll work with you. So just do your part, stay out of my way, and we'll get through this with as little trouble as possible. Clear?” Shining Armor said to the Riders. The Riders looked at each other for a second before they all smiled.
“Aye aye, Captain,” Gentarou said with a smile. Shining sneered at the six before he teleported up to the ship. Twilight approached the Riders, an embarrassed look on her face.
“Sorry about my brother. He can be a bit overzealous when it comes to his job,” Twilight said. The Riders all smiled at Twilight.
“Don't worry Miss Twilight, it's no trouble. We've all had to deal with someone like him, and they've ended up becoming good friends. Right guys?” Eiji asked his fellow Riders. Everyone but Kouta nodded.
“Let me get back to you on that,” he said, thinking about his strength obsessed rival Kaito. You'd think a guy prancing around in banana armor would be a tiny bit less arrogant.
“Well, if we're all done with that, I say we get moving. We've got an evil queen and Foundation X to defeat,” Haruto said. Twilight smiled at the ringed mage.
“Let's do this!” Kouta said. The Riders and Twilight all cheered as they boarded the XVII and set forth for Canterlot.
Will Shining Armor ever get along with the Riders?

Chapter 4
Insert Catchphrase Here
“We should be arriving in Canterlot in a couple of hours. We should use this time to think of a battle plan,” Shining Armor said as he, the Riders, and the Princesses stood on the bridge looking at an outline of Canterlot.
“I suggest we use the element of surprise to our advantage. The enemy would never expect us to have something like the XVII on our side. I say we head straight for the center of the city while a squad of guards heads through the borders of the city and fights off any of the changelings that they can while evacuating the civilians,” Shining Armor said.
“A good plan all things considered Captain, but it won't work,” Phillip said.
“Excuse me?” Shining Armor said.
Phillip began idly flipping through his book as he explained “To start, Chrysalis' army would already have likely taken over most of Canterlot, so they would have at the very least defenses in place against an aerial attack. Plus they have a ship of their own if what the Princesses have told us is true. Even with our help, an assault at the city's center would spell our doom”.
Shining looked at him with a mix of anger and begrudging admiration “Okay then, what do you suggest we do then?”
Phillip smiled and said “To start, we need to start around the borders and slowly make our way towards the center. We can handle any Kaijin that show up while your soldiers clear the civilians out of the city. They can also provide support in the battle against the regular changelings”.
Shining looked at Phillip stunned. While Shining Armor had vast experience as a soldier and commander, his skill for tactics had always been relatively poor. He was capable of coming up with good battle plans no doubt, but Celestia was the true tactician in the Equestrian military. None of the Guard made a move without consulting her first. Shining shook his head and looked at Phillip.
“Well...while I will admit you're plan does sound good in theory, it has one major flaw,” Shining Armor said. Phillip looked at him confused.
“Oh? What would that be?” Phillip asked with genuine curiosity.
“It involves you six becoming our main front line force. Being on the front lines places you right in the center of the battle. How can I be sure you'll be able to handle it, especially after all I've heard about how powerful these Kaijin are? How can we trust you?” Shining Armor said, his distrust for the Riders evident in his voice.
Twilight looked at her brother with an annoyed look. While she herself knew very little of the Riders, she could tell that they were trustworthy individuals. She knew her brother had always been stubborn and obstinate at times, but she was usually able to get him to listen to her.
Before Twilight could say anything, Eiji stepped forward and said “You can't”.
Everyone looked at Eiji, some confused, some understanding, and one angry, Shining Armor.
“What?”
“You can't trust us. Though you were the ones who summoned us here, how can you trust us? We may very well betray you,” Eiji said.
“Mr. Eiji,” Twilight said. Haruto placed a hand on her shoulder and shook his head. Twilight let Eiji continue.
“However, the fact is we have agreed to help you. I can't speak for everyone else, but if I refused a hand, or a hoof in this case, reaching out for help, I wouldn't be able to live with myself. I don't know much of this world or it's troubles, but one thing I do know is protecting others is never easy no matter where you go. So please, Captain Armor, let us help you. We don't want to see anyone get hurt,” Eiji said. Shining Armor looked at Eiji for a moment, observing him. Shining Armor had always been good at reading people, no matter their species. He could always tell if they spoke the truth if he really looked at them. Eiji's face showed many things to Shining Armor. Hope, regret, honesty, but most of all, sincerity. Eiji's words came from the heart, and as much as Shining Armor hated to admit it, he had to respect him for it.
Shining Armor sighed and said “Fine, we'll go with your plan Riders”. Everyone let out a sigh of relief.
“However, if I go along with this, you have to promise me one thing,” Shining Armor said.
“Captain Armor, I do not believe....”
“Name it,” Kouta said.
Shining Armor regarded the Riders and looked each of them in the eye.
“You leave Chrysalis to me. I've got a score to settle with her,” Shining Armor said. The Riders all looked at each other before they all smirked.
“Deal,” Eiji said as he extended his hand to Shining Armor. Reluctantly, Shining Armor shook Eiji's hand. Twilight smiled at this.
“Well, now that that's settled, let's fine tune this plan a bit. We're going to need to if we want to beat Chrysalis,” Shining Armor said as they continued to discuss the battle plan.
After the battle plan was fully discussed, everyone decided to relax as they made their way to Canterlot. Luckily, the XVII had a fairly nice lounge for the soldiers to relax in. Currently the lounge was occupied by the Riders, the Princesses, and Shining Armor, who was continuing to go over the battle plan in his head. Twilight sat down next to the Riders and turned to Eiji
“Thank you for what you did Mr. Eiji,” Twilight said, causing Eiji to blush and Shining Armor to huff.
“It was nothing Miss Twilight. Besides, your brother actually reminds me of a friend of mine,” Eiji said with a smile.
“Really, who?” Twilight asked. Eiji's face saddened a bit as he reached into his pocket and pulled out Ankh's broken medal.
“What's that?” Twilight said examining the medal, the Princesses doing the same.
“It's a Core Medal. It belonged to my friend Ankh. Well, actually it held his consciousness,” Eiji said. Twilight raised an eyebrow at this.
“Huh?” she said.
“Ankh was a creature called a Greeed, creatures who were products of human desire and greed. Ankh was the one who gave me the power of OOO, and though he would never admit it, became a good friend,” Eiji said, smiling at the memory of his ice candy obsessed friend.
“What happened to him?” Twilight asked. The Princesses and even Shining Armor were beginning to become interested in the nomadic Rider's story.
“His medal was broken during our final battle against the other Greeed. Since then, I've been trying to find a way to restore his medal and bring him back,” Eiji said, a sad smile on his face. Suddenly, they heard someone sniffling and sobbing. They looked over to see Gentarou quietly sobbing before bursting out into a loud cry.
“AWWW!!! That's so freakin' sad Eiji-sempai!!! Losing a friend is horrible!!!!” Gentarou said as he went over and hugged Eiji, which surprised the young nomad. Eiji, to his credit, merely patted Gentarou on the back as he continued to cry. Each of the Riders looked down sadly, remembering those they had lost. Twilight looked at all of them, sensing what they were feeling.
“So I take it being a Kamen Rider isn't an easy job, is it?” Twilight asked. The Riders shook their heads.
“We Kamen Riders fight to protect people from the shadows. We fight in secret and protect the hope of the world. Most of the time we succeed. However, even we can't win every time. Even when protecting people we love,” Haruto said as he looked down at one of his rings sadly.
“Koyomi,” Haruto said softly so no one would hear. Twilight heard him however, but didn't want to press any further. Twilight looked at the Riders sadly. She suddenly felt regret at bringing them here. She thought of how worried their loved ones back on their world must be. Before she could wallow in her self doubt any longer, Shotaro patted her on the back.
“But while loss hurts, we continue to fight. We fight so others never have to feel the pain of loss as we have,” Shotaro said.
“Shotaro is a prime example,” Phillip said.
“How so?” Twilight asked. Phillip looked at Shotaro for approval of what he was about to say. Shotaro nodded.
“Well to start, and this might come as a shock, I'm not technically alive,” Phillip said. Twilight and the other Riders minus Shotaro looked at him in shock.
“What?” Twilight said.
“By all rights the person I used to be, Raito Sonozaki, died years ago. However, I was reborn as an avatar to the True Gaia Memory,” Phillip explained. Twilight and the other Riders looked at Phillip with interest. While they all fought together many times before, they never really had many chances to talk to one another.
“A few years ago, after our final battle against Museum, my essence scattered into data. It took a year for my body to fully reform into what you see before you. During that time, instead of giving into the sadness of lost, Shotaro continued to fight as a Rider on his own,” Phillip said as he smiled at his partner.
“What else do you expect from a hard-boiled man like myself,” Shotaro said as he traced his finger across the brim of his hat. Everyone laughed at his comment, since he was as half-boiled as one can become.
Twilight and the Princesses kept founding themselves amazed by the Riders with the more they learned about them and their world.
“Your world sounds very fascinating,” Celestia said.
“It is! I've learned so much about our world over the years. Shotaro says most of it is useless,” Phillip said.
“That's because you keep going on your random obsessions into the most useless things. Miso soup, vinegar, breakdancing, the list goes on. Sometimes I think you were the worst person to give the Gaia Library to. Especially when we're on important cases,” Shotaro said. Shotaro had more than once had to deal with Phillip's bizarre obsessions.
However, Shotaro's main concern right now should have been Twilight. She was beaming at the mention of the Gaia Library.
“What's the Gaia Library? Sounds interesting,” Twilight said. Celestia and Luna looked at each other warily. They knew far too well that Twilight could get rather obsessive when it came to books.
“The Gaia Library is a massive library that contains all the information in our world. I'm able to sift through it and find any information I please with a Look Up,” Phillip said, and immediately wished he hadn't. When he had finished his explanation, Twilight squealed and tackled the effeminate Rider.
“TAKE ME THERE!!! It sounds like heaven!!! Books upon books upon books!!!! EEEEE!!!!!!! Where is it!? Where can I read these books!? Do you need a library card!?” Twilight excitedly questioned.
“Calm down Miss Twilight,” Eiji said as he peeled the lavender alicorn off of Phillip. Shotaro stood in front of Phillip protectively.
“If you'd calm down for a moment you would know that I am the only one able to access the Gaia Library,” Phillip said. Twilight immediately deflated at his words. She felt like a little foal who had just been told they would get a free day in a candy store and instead they get a root canal at the dentist. She could feel her eyes start to water.
“I'm sorry Miss Twilight, but it's an aspect of my being the avatar to the True Gaia Memory,” Phillip said, trying to calm down Twilight.
“I apologize for Twilight. She's a bit of a bookworm,” Celestia said in the nicest way possible. Shining laughed at this.
“A bookworm is putting it lightly. The librarian used to have to drag Twilight home after the library closed because she didn't want to leave,” Shining said, which caused Twilight to blush in embarrassment. This caused the Princesses and the Riders to laugh at Twilight's expense.
Twilight huffed and said “There's nothing wrong with having a healthy love for knowledge”.
“Twily, you actually brought a tent with you one time. Mom and Dad had to use a sleep spell on you to get you to leave,” Shining Armor said, causing everyone to laugh even harder.
“So you do have a sense of humor after all,” Haruto said. Shining looked at Haruto annoyed.
“Of course I have a sense of humor. I can't be serious all the time. If I was, Cadence would certainly break me of that quickly,” Shining said, smiling a bit at the thought of his wife.
After everyone had calmed down, the Riders continued to tell the Princesses and Twilight about their world, their friends, and their respective battles against evil forces. As they spoke, the Princesses began to recognize some of the monsters and made mental notes about their weaknesses.
As the Riders spoke of their battles, Shining began to have a begrudging respect for them. Shining had seen battle and he knew what it could do to someone. Whereas he had had his fellow soldiers to help shoulder his heavy burden, the Riders mostly had just themselves. Sure, they had friends to support them, but they usually fought these battles alone. Even he had to admit that would get lonely.
The Princesses and Twilight were enthralled by the stories of the Riders' battles. They had all had their share of adventures and battles, some rather recently, but the Riders spoke of monsters they would never have thought existed. The thing that really piqued their interest however was the other Riders they spoke of.
“There are other Riders besides you all?” Celestia questioned.
“Oh there are tons of us running around. Some of them are a bit odd though,” Shotaro said.
Kouta nodded “Like Tsukasa. I still never got what that Narutaki guy was spouting about him being a destroyer of worlds. Sure, he can't take a decent picture to save his life, but he's still a nice enough guy and a powerful Rider,” Kouta said.
“Sister, do you think that..” Luna whispered. Celestia nodded.
“We'll discuss that later Luna,” Celestia said.
“So is it just the Riders who fight monsters?” Twilight asked.
Before the Riders could explain about all the other heroes that helped protect their world, the ship rocked to the side as the sounds of explosions were heard.
“Status!!” Shining Armor yelled as he placed his helm on his head.
“Sir, the enemy has spotted us and are assaulting our ship with some kaijin!” one of the guards shouted. The Riders all stood and ran outside, Twilight, Shining Armor, and the Princesses following suit.
Meanwhile on the Exodus
“Everything is going as planned,” Chrysalis said as she and Retsu monitored the progress of her army as they continued to ransack Canterlot.
“It would appear so. But I must remind you not to forget our agreement Chrysalis. Once Equestria falls and you rule, you will relinquish the Elements of Harmony to us along with this world's knowledge of magic,” Retsu said. Chrysalis waved a dismissive hoof at his comment.
“Don't worry yourself Retsu. Once I have Equestria in my hooves, you can do what you like with the Elements. I'll certainly have no need for them,” Chrysalis said as she added a small chuckle. Retsu smiled, something he rarely did.
“Excellent. Speaking of the Elements, it appears the experiment was a success,” he said. Chrysalis laughed as she smiled a toothy smile.
“Wonderful. This will show Twilight and those other Princesses why you should not cross a Queen,” Chrysalis said.
Suddenly, an alarm started blaring. Retsu and Chrysalis made their way to the bridge to find out what was happening.
“What's going on?” Retsu said to one of the other Foundation members.
“Sir, it would appear a large airship is making it's way towards Canterlot at a fast pace,” the Foundation member said as he brought up a video feed of the ship.
The screen showed the XVII as it was making it's way toward Canterlot. Chrysalis saw the ship and smiled.
“Looks like little Twilight managed to get reinforcements. I wonder what plan that annoying bookworm has now,” Chrysalis said.
“It matters not. She won't be able to stand up against our Kaijin,” Retsu said. On the screen, the XVII was suddenly attacked by a group of airborne kaijin. As they attacked, part of the ship exploded. Chrysalis smiled at this.
“Your kaijin are truly impressive Retsu. I can't imagine anything that could beat them,” Chrysalis. Retsu was about to say something when suddenly some of the Kaijin began to falter in their attack. When the screen was zoomed in, Retsu's face contorted in anger.
On the screen, six humans were fighting off the Kaijin. One of whom had a large silver gun in his hands which he used to shoot down many of the Kaijin.
Retsu slammed a fist against the console “I think this Twilight Sparkle is smarter than you give her credit for,” he said.
“Who are those six humans?” Chrysalis said.
“They are an eternal thorn in our sides. People who constantly ruin our plans. You could say they're our version of those six mares you've spoken of,” Retsu said.
“Who are they!?”
“Kamen Riders”.
Back on the XVII
The Riders made their way out onto the deck of the XVII. The guards were trying their best to fend off the Kaijin, but were quickly losing ground.
Haruto slipped a ring onto his right hand and placed it over his belt.
Connect! Please!
A magic circle appeared beside the wizard, which he put his hand into, pulling out his WizarSwordGun. He fired a few shots at the Kaijin, causing them to falter slightly. The Riders ran into the fight as they fought off the Kaijin. When Twilight and the Princesses made it on deck, they helped the guards that had been downed and lead them off the deck.
Shotaro punched one of the Kaijin, which appeared to be a bird Yummy.
“Hey guys, I think we're gonna need to step this fight up a little,” Shotaro said as he produced his Double Driver. The other Riders nodded as they pulled out their various Drivers and equipped them as they stood in a line.
“Twilight, you and the Princesses get the guards out of here. We can handle this,” Eiji said as he placed his Taka, Tora, and Batta medals in his belt.
“Yeah, we got this!” Gentarou said as he flipped the switches on his Fourze Driver.
Haruto placed his Flame Style ring on his left hand as Kouta produced his Orange Lock Seed.
Shotaro and Phillip stood by each other and showed their Cyclone and Joker memories.
“Let's do this!” Shotaro yelled.
JOKER!
CYCLONE!
Shotaro and Phillip posed with their arms in a W fashion as they yelled “Henshin!” Phillip placed his Cyclone memory into his belt, the memory dissipating into energy and reforming in Shotaro's Driver as Phillip fell over. Luckily Twilight caught him, a worried look on her face.
“Don't worry about him, he's fine,” Shotaro said as he placed his Joker memory in the Double Driver and opened it, posing as he did so.
CYCLONE! JOKER!
A whirlwind formed around Shotaro as his Rider armor formed around him, transforming him into Kamen Rider W.
Eiji tipped his belt at an angle and pulled the OOO Scanner from it's holder and scanned it over his belt, crossing his other arm across his chest.
“Henshin!” he said placing the OOO Scanner over his chest.
TAKA! TORA! BATTA!
As Eiji's belt sang out, three circles of spinning medals formed around his head, chest, and legs. They eventually stopped on the images of the Taka, Tora, and Batta medals.
TATOBA! TATOBA TATOBA!
Eiji's armor materialized around him, transforming him into OOO.
Gentarou flipped the last switches on his belt as he placed one hand on his belt's lever and the other in front of him clenched into a fist.
3! 2! 1!
“Henshin!” Gentarou yelled as he pulled the lever on his belt and threw his hand into the air. Smoke filled the air as a floating device appeared and formed Fourze's armor around Gentarou.
Haruto flipped his belt's hand to the left as the belt rang out.
SHABADOOBIE! TATCHI HENSHIN!
“Henshin!” Haruto yelled as he placed his left hand over his belt, quickly throwing his hand to the left afterward.
FLAME! PLEASE! HII! HII! HII HII HII!
Wizard's magic circle formed at his left and passed through him, forming his bejeweled armor.
“Henshin!” Kouta yelled as he opened his Orange Lock Seed.
ORANGE!
Kouta spun left and right as a zipper opened up above him. From the zipper came his armor, which floated in the air. Kouta placed his Lock Seed in his belt and slammed the lock into place.
LOCK ON!
The sound of Japaneses trumpets and a techno beat sounded from Kouta's belt as he grabbed the knife attachment and sliced open the Lock Seed.
SOIYA! ORANGE ARMS! HANAMICHI, ON STAGE!
Kouta's armor crashed down onto his shoulders as his body suit formed around him. The Orange Arms armor folded out and down until Gaim's full armor was formed. The DaiDaimaru appeared in Kouta's right hand.
The Riders all stood in a line, shocking the Kaijin and making them momentarily stop their assault.
W extended his left hand and pointed it at the Kaijin “Now, count up your crimes”.
Fourze brought his arms close to his chest and crouched before he threw his arms up and shouted “Uchu kita!!!!! Kamen Rider Fourze! Let's settle this man to man!” punctuating his point by smoothing his hand against his helmet and pointing at the Kaijin.
Wizard raised his left hand and displayed his Flame Style ring “Now, it's showtime”.
Gaim pulled his Musou Saber out of the holder on his belt and attached to the DaiDaimaru as he yelled “This is my stage now!”
Twilight and the Princesses looked at the Riders in awe. Even with all they had seen, and Celestia and Luna had seen quite a bit, they had never seen warriors like them before.
W looked back to Twilight and said “Look after my body for me please,” in Phillip's voice, W's right eye flashing. Twilight looked at W confused before she nodded.
“Let's go!” OOO yelled as he and the other Riders rushed into battle.
Will the Riders be able to fight off Chrysalis' army?
What devious plans do Chrysalis and Foundation X have in store for our heroes?

Chapter 5
The One Where the Riders Kick Flank
“Amazing,” Twilight said as she and the Princesses watched the Riders battle.
Wizard had turned his WizarSwordGun into its sword mode and was slashing Kaijin left and right. Joining Wizard was OOO, his claws extended and aiding in ripping apart the Kaijin.
W was fighting barehanded against the Kaijin. As his fists and kicks connected, an occasional burst of wind would be produced, adding more damage to his attacks.
Launcher ~ On!
Fourze's belt rang out as a rocket launcher appeared on his right leg and fired rockets at the Kaijin. Unfortunately, the rockets were flying randomly, one of them exploding just a few feet away from Gaim. Gaim was tossed back by the explosion, but luckily Fourze caught him using his rocket pack.
“Watch it with those things man! You nearly blew me up,” Gaim scolded. Fourze rubbed the side of his helmet in embarrassment.
“Sorry man. I forgot I need to use Radar with this thing,” Fourze said as he activated another Switch on his belt.
Radar ~ On!
On Fourze's left arm appeared his Radar Module. He pointed it at the Kaijin and after a few seconds, it was locked onto them.
“Take this!” Fourze yelled as he once again fired rockets at the Kaijin, this time hitting his marks perfectly.
“Now that's more like it,” Kouta yelled as he used his Daidaimaru and Musou Saber Naginata and slashed a few of the Kaijin, sparks flying off their bodies as he made contact.
“This is incredible. They fight with such skill and strength. I haven't seen fighting like this since the war with Discord,” Celestia remarked.
“We agree Sister. They are truly fierce warriors. They fight these monsters as if they were nothing,” Luna said.
Shining Armor grit his teeth and charged forward, causing Twilight to gasp.
“Shiny! What are you doing!?” Twilight yelled.
“This is my ship, and I'm gonna protect it and you!” Shining Armor yelled as he fired blasts of magic at the Kaijin. The Kaijin noticed the new enemy and began charging toward Shining Armor. Before they could reach him however, they all stopped as sparks exploded off their chests. Shining looked to see that Wizard had fired at them.
“Captain, please let us handle this,” Wizard said as he fired a few more shots at the Kaijin.
“Buck you! I'm not gonna let you Riders upstage me on my own ship, and especially not in front of my sister,” Shining said as he blasted one of the Kaijin with his magic, knocking it off of the ship.
Wizard sighed “Do what you want then,” Wizard said as he nonchalantly shot a Kaijin trying to sneak up on him.
As the Riders fought, they saw that more Kaijin were coming toward the ship from the skies.
“Looks like we'll have to change tactics here,” Eiji said as he replaced the Tora and Batta medals on his belt with the Kujaku and Condor medals. Eiji pulled the OOO Scanner from his belt and scanned his medals.
TAKA! KUJAKU! CONDOR! TA~JA~DORU~!
Once again the medals spun around Eiji as his armor changed, flames spreading around him as his transformation ceased. This time his armor was a uniform crimson and black color with a bird motif. His helmet changed to a much fiercer appearance and the Taja Spinner appeared on his left arm.
Eiji struck a quick pose before wings sprouted from his back and he flew towards the Kaijin. Wizard and Fourze looked at each other before nodding.
“Can't let him have all the fun,” Wizard said as he replaced the ruby Flame Style ring on his left hand with his emerald Hurricane Style ring.
“Right,” Fourze said as he removed the Rocket Switch on his belt and replaced it with the larger Super Rocket switch.
Wizard switch his belt to the left side and placed his hand over the belt as Fourze activated his Super Rocket Switch.
HURRICANE, PLEASE! FU~FU! FU~FU~FU~FU!
ROCKET ~ ON! SUPER!
Fourze and Wizard's armors changed. Wizards ruby armor was replaced with triangular cut emeralds. Fourze's armor changed from its base white color to an all orange color with two large rockets appearing on his arms.
“LET'S GO!” Fourze yelled as the rockets on his arms ignited and he flew into the air. Wizard nodded as he followed suit, an emerald wind propelling him up and towards the Kaijin.
In the air, OOO, Fourze, and Wizard engaged the Kaijin in aerial combat.
OOO fired at the Kaijin using his Taja Spinner while also using his legs, which turned into large talons, to rip the Kaijin apart. With his speed and raw power, OOO was making quick work of the Kaijin.
Fourze was flying swiftly at the Kaijin. Fourze didn't so much fight the Kaijin as ram into them with his rockets. The sheer force of the impact was enough to destroy many of them.
Wizard looked like he was performing some kind of aerial battle ballet. In his hand he held his WizarSwordGun in its sword mode, slashing and hacking away at the Kaijin as he flipped and spun through the air.
Back on the deck of the ship, W and Gaim were making quick work of the rest of the Kaijin. However, they were hindered by the inclusion of Shining Armor. The unicorn was certainly holding his own against the Kaijin, but the Riders could see he was tiring. They were also wary to use their full strength for fear of harming him.
Gaim and W stood back to back.
“We need to finish this quick. Wanna give us a hand newbie?” W asked. Gaim nodded as he produced his Ichigo Lock Seed and W produced his Luna and Trigger memories. Each removed their respective henshin items and replaced them with the new ones.
LUNA! TRIGGER!
W's belt rang out as he replaced his memories and opened his belt.
LUNA! TRIGGER!
As soon as W opened his belt, his armor began to change from green and black to yellow and blue. As the transformation finished, the Trigger Magnum appeared on W's chest, which he promptly removed as he began firing at the Kaijin.
ICHIGO!
Gaim's armor dissipated as he removed his Orange Lock Seed and replaced it with the Ichigo Lock Seed. Above Gaim, the Ichigo Arms armor was floating above him. Gaim placed the lock into the belt and locked it into place.
LOCK ON!
Gaim's belt rang out as he grabbed the knife attachment and cut open the Lock Seed.
SOIYA! ICHIGO ARMS! SHUSHUTTO SPARK!
The Ichigo Arms armor dropped down onto Gaim's shoulders and opened up. When the armor had fully formed, Gaim's armor had changed from his bulky Orange armor into a more streamlined Strawberry themed armor. Gaim also had two strawberry themed knives in his hands, which he proceeded to throw at the Kaijin.
As the battle began to wind down, the Riders all decided it was time to end the fight. Unfortunately, Shining Armor was still in the way. As Kaijin charged at him, they were stopped by Gaim as he blasted them with the Musou Saber and threw his Ichigo Kunai. Gaim landed in front of Shining Armor.
“Out of my way Rider! I don't need your help!” Shining yelled. His words were invalidated however as he began to stumble. Gaim looked down a moment before he moved swiftly at Shining Armor.
“Sorry for this Captain,” Gaim said as he punched Shining Armor in the stomach. Shining Armor's face contorted in pain as he fell forward, the force of Gaim's punch knocking the wind out of him and causing him to lose consciousness.
“Catch!” Gaim said as he threw Shining Armor's limp body toward Twilight and the Princesses. Thankfully Twilight saw this in time and caught her brother in her magic. Gaim turned around and gave a thumbs up to W. W nodded and looked back to the Kaijin.
“Time for the finisher,” W said as he removed the Trigger Memory from his belt and placed it into the Trigger Magnum. The other Riders began to prepare for their respective final attacks. OOO scanned the medals in his belt, Fourze pulled the lever on his belt, Wizard opened up the hand on his sword and placed his left hand against it, and Gaim removed the Ichigo Lock Seed from his belt and placed it into his Musou Saber.
TRIGGER! MAXIMUM DRIVE!
The Trigger Magnum rang out as a shrill noise began to fill the air.
SCANNING CHARGE!
OOO belt rang out as he flew higher into the air, becoming enveloped in a red aura
ROCKET! LIMIT BREAK!
Fourze willed one of the rockets away for a moment so he could pull the lever on his belt. As his belt rang out, Fourze began to spin quickly in the air, rising to the same height as OOO.
COME ON A SLASH, SHAKE HANDS! HURRICANE, SLASH STRIKE! FUU~FUU~FUU! FUU~FUU~FUU!
Wizard's sword rang out as he stood in a ready stance in front of the Kaijin.
LOCK ON! 1, 10, 100! ICHIGO CHARGE!
The Musou Saber rang out as Gaim ran his finger along the blade, readying himself for his final attack.
Then, as if they had it planned, each Rider initiated their final attack.
“Trigger Full Burst!” W said as he shot a giant blast at the Kaijin.
“Seiya!” OOO yelled as his legs changed to their talon mode and he proceeded to fly at the Kaijin, his leg extended in front of him.
“Rider Tailspin Crusher!!” Fourze said as he spun in a giant, fiery orange spiral towards the Kaijin
“Finale!” Wizard said as a tempest whirled around his sword. Wizard swung his sword, sending a giant green whirlwind slash at the Kaijin.
“Seiha!” Gaim said as he slashed his sword into the air, a giant Ichigo Kunai forming before it scattered into numerous smaller ones, which flew at the Kaijin.
Numerous explosions rocked the ship as the Rider's final attacks connected, destroying the Kaijin instantly. When the smoke finally cleared, Twilight and the Princesses saw that all the Riders were back on the deck of the ship. Their backs were turned to them.
Finally, the Riders all turned around, looking like supreme badasses as they stood in a line.
“Are you all okay?” Gaim asked. Celestia, Luna, and Twilight nodded. The Riders sighed in relief.
“That was...that was......” Twilight tried to say.
“THAT WAS AWESOME!!” Spike said as he suddenly appeared between Twilight and the Princesses. He ran up to the Riders and began to go into complete fanboy mode. Spike was positively gushing over the Riders.
Spike's outburst snapped Twilight out of her awed stupor and she immediately gained an annoyed look.
“Spike! What are you doing here? I thought I told you to stay in Ponyville where it's safe,” Twilight berated her young assistant. Spike stopped gushing over the Riders for a moment and walked over to his sister/friend/surrogate mother.
“I'm sorry Twilight, I....” Spike tried to say before W interjected.
“I hate to interrupt, but perhaps we can have this discussion inside. We all need some rest,” W said in Phillip's voice. Twilight glared at her assistant one more time before she nodded to W and they all went inside.
After they went inside, the Riders returning to their civilian forms and Phillip and Shining Armor regaining consciousness. Twilight pulled Spike's ear as she sat him down for one of her classic lectures.
“Spike T. Dragon I cannot BELIEVE that you would pull something like this,” Twilight said as she circled her assistant, Spike looking down dejectedly, trembling a bit.
“Do you know what type of danger you've put yourself in. You've seen what those monsters can do,” Twilight said. Spike said nothing as he continued to tremble.
“Well? What do you have to say for yourself young dragon?” Twilight asked. Spike still said nothing.
“Miss Twilight, don't you think you're being a bit harsh on him?” Eiji said. Twilight shot him a glare only a protective mother or sister could give. A look that said “Shut up or you're next”. Sure enough, Eiji backed down.
“Shiny, can you teleport Spike back to-”
“NO!” Spike said. Everyone looked at the young drake in surprise.
“What?” Twilight said, a sharp edge to her voice.
Spike stood up and said “I'm not going back to Ponyville”.
“Spike, this is not up for discussion. You are going back and that's-”
“NO! I'm not going back and you can't make me!” Spike said in a tone he had never used before.
“Spike...,” Twilight said.
“No, you are not benching me this time. Every time you and the others went on dangerous adventures you would always leave me behind to look after everything. Most of the time I was happy to do it, but not this time. I may not be strong like you, the Princesses, and the Riders, but I'm not just going to sit by and do nothing,” Spike said as tears starting escaping from his eyes.
“Spike, I....”
“Every time you and the others go off do you have any idea how worried I am!? Risking your necks against Discord, Chrysalis, Nightmare Moon. Every time I was always so worried I felt like my heart would break,” Spike said.
Twilight thought about Spike's words. It was true that Spike usually got put on the sidelines, but Twilight had always had a good reason. She had never wanted him to come to harm because of her. The most terrified she had ever been was when Spike had helped to save the Crystal Empire. She was so scared she would lose her best friend.
“And now, when our friends are in danger and the world is in some of the worst trouble it's ever been in, you want me to just stay behind and do nothing!? Not this time! I'm not leaving and you can't make me!” Spike said, tears now freely flowing down his face.
Twilight and everyone else sat stunned at Spike's outburst. Celestia and Luna had never seen Spike act this way before. Twilight especially had never seen Spike this distraught.
“They're my friends too, and I want to help save them. I know I can't do much, but I still want to fight,” Spike said as he shuddered, tears staining his face.
The room was tense as Spike waited for Twilight's reaction.
Twilight did the only thing she thought she should do. She hugged her young assistant. Spike had a shocked look on his face as Twilight hugged him.
“Okay Spike, you can stay. But you stick by either me, the Princesses, the Riders, or Shining Armor at all times. Am I clear?” Twilight said. Spike looked at her and smiled.
“Crystal,” Spike said as he hugged Twilight. Celestia smiled at her student and the young dragon.
Normally this would have been a picture perfect moment. For a while it was. That is, until Gentarou began to cry, rubbing his eyes on his sleeve.
“That's..that's so...that's so beautiful!! It's making me cry!” Gentarou yelled as he hugged the closest person next to him, which just happened to be Kouta. Kouta, not knowing how to react, merely patted Gentarou on the back.
The control panel on the bridge began to beep, Shining Armor going up to it to examine it.
“We're about to land in Canterlot. I'll rally the troops my Princesses,” Shining Armor said as he put his helmet on and prepared his troops.
“Ever the serious one isn't he,” Haruto said as he rose to his feet. Twilight, the Princesses, and the Riders followed Shining Armor onto the deck.
After a few minutes, all of Shining's troops who were still able to fight were assembled. Though some had injuries from the previous Kaijin attack, they still stood. In front of them stood Shining Armor, Celestia and Luna, Twilight, and the Riders.
“ATTENTION!” Shining yelled. Immediately his troops stood perfectly straight, eyes forward.
Celestia stepped forward, clearing her throat.
“Brave soldiers of Equestria! Equestria is faced with a dire threat. Chrysalis and this Foundation X have taken our capitol and attacked our people. Will you stand for this!?” Celestia said, now sounding like a seasoned war general.
“NO MA'AM!” they yelled. Celestia smiled proudly at her subjects.
“You all are valiant warriors, and I have no doubt in my mind you will fight your hardest to defend our nation. However, as you have seen, the enemy is stronger than anything we have faced before. Alone, we stand no match,” Celestia said. Some of the soldiers looked down, remembering the recent battle. Some of their knees even began to buckle.
“BUT FEAR NOT BRAVE WARRIORS!!” Luna yelled using the Canterlot Voice. Everyone covered their ears as Celestia shot Luna a look. Luna mouthed “Sorry”.
“But fear not brave warriors, for we are not alone. To combat this threat, we have summoned the six warriors you see before you. The Kamen Riders!” Luna said as she waved a hoof at the Riders. The Riders stared at the soldiers before them. The Riders stood tall and confident.
“As you have seen, they possess strength and skill unrivaled by even we Princesses. They will help us in our battle. We ask you brave soldiers of Equestria, the finest soldiers in the land, will you stand with them!?” Luna yelled.
The soldiers saluted and yelled “WITH HONOR MA'AM!!”
“Then ready yourselves mighty soldiers of Equestria, for today, we take back our capitol, our home. Today, WE TAKE BACK CANTERLOT!!” Celestia yelled, now using the Canterlot Voice herself.
The soldiers pounded their spears on the ground and yelled in agreement.
“Why is that when you use the voice you get applause, but all I get are glares and lectures about modern etiquette?” Luna said, obviously frustrated.
“It's all about timing Luna,” Celestia said as she tried to reassure her sister.
Twilight was looking down, a nervous look on her face.
“Problem Twilight?” Shotaro asked. The other Riders looked over curoiusly.
“I'm just worried. We don't know what Chrysalis has in store. Plus...what if my friends are-”
“Stop,” Haruto said as he knelt down in front of her.
“That kind of talk leads to nothing but doubt and despair. The second you start talking like that, you start to lose hope; and I refuse to let that happen,” Haruto said. Twilight looked at the mage, her eyes watering a bit.
“Do not give up hope Twilight. Your friends are alive, and we will save them,” Haruto showed off one of his rings “and we Riders don't go back on promises,” Haruto said. Twilight looked to dins the other Riders smiling and nodding in agreement. Twilight wiped a stray tear with a hoof.
“Thank you everyone,” Twilight said.
“Ahem!” someone said behind them. They turned to see that Shining Armor was glaring at the Riders, an annoyed expression on his face.
“Just thought I'd let you know we're about to land in Canterlot. Get ready Riders,” Shining said as he turned to return to his troops. As he left he gave one last glare to Haruto.
The Riders and Twilight looked out across Canterlot. The city was in shambles with fire burning everywhere. There were no ponies in sight. Canterlot looked like little more than a burning ruin now.
Twilight looked down at the city and her worried expression came back.
“Please be okay”.
Meanwhile on the Exodus
“I thought you said that there would be no problems!? You never mentioned anything about these Kamen Riders!!” Chrysalis yelled as Retsu stood, calmly taking the changeling queen's verbal assault.
“You said these Kaijin of yours were unstoppable, and those Riders defeated them like they were mere foals!! How do you plan to fix this Retsu!?” Chrysalis yelled.
Retsu took of his glasses and wiped off some spit that had gotten on them from Chrysalis yelling.
“While I will admit the appearance of those damnable Riders was unexpected, the plan will still work,” Retsu said.
“And how, pray tell, are we going to accomplish that!?” Chrysalis growled.
Retsu smiled, which Chrysalis had to admit she found very unnerving.
“Did you forgot Chrysalis, we still have our trump card,” Retsu said as a door opened to reveal five lab tables. On the tables were five bodies covered with white cloth.
Chrysalis laughed as an evil smile appeared on her face.
“Ah, I see. You're quite right Retsu. Even with the Riders on her side, little Twilight won't stand a chance against this enemy,” Chrysalis said as the bodies began to rise from the tables.
What evil does Chrysalis have in store for our heroes?
Will Twilight's friends be okay?
Will Shining Armor ever get along with the Riders?
Will this joke ever get old?

Chapter 6: The Battle Begins Part 1
Chapter 6
The Battle Begins Part 1
“Alright soldiers, we are going to be splitting up into five squads. Each squad will be headed by a Rider and either one of the Princesses, myself, or Spike the Dragon. Keep the ranks tightened up and let the Riders handle any Kaijin that appear. Your job is to aid civilians and to lessen collateral damage. Are we clear?” Shining Armor said to his troops.
Shining Armor's troops saluted him, causing a low rumble “YES SIR!” they said.
Shining Armor smiled at his troops. They had always been a heroic bunch, willing to put their lives on the line to defend their fellow ponies. They were Shining's brothers and sisters just as much as Twilight was.
“Alright, the squads will go as follows,” Celestia began. Celestia had donned her golden armor, which she had not worn in centuries. Luna and Twilight were likewise encased in purple and dark blue armor respectively. Even though Spike's scales acted as protection enough, he had been fitted with light plate as an extra layer of protection.
“I will head Squad Alpha alongside W. Princess Luna will head Squad Beta alongside Fourze. Squad Gamma will be lead by Spike alongside OOO. Squad Omega will be headed by Princess Twilight Sparkle and Gaim. Finally, Squad Delta will be headed by Shining Armor and Wizard. Is everypony clear on their assignments?” she said.
“YES MA'AM!” the soldiers shouted. Beside her, Shining Armor grumbled.
“Is there a problem Captain Armor?” Celestia said. Shining Armor looked at the Princess with an angered expression.
“With all due respect Princess, might I request pairing up with another Rider? That Wizard Rider offends me to no end. Perhaps he would be better suited for-”
“Captain Armor, are you questioning my leadership?” Celestia asked, her voice having a dangerous edge to it.
“N-no my Princess. I merely think that-”
“Captain Armor you have been acting nothing but hostile to the Riders ever since they have arrived. They are our allies, no, our friends, and I would expect the Captain of my Guard to show them the respect they deserve,” Celestia said as if she were scolding a child. Shining deflated at her words.
“Now whatever grudge you have against the Riders I expect you to get over it and work with them. Otherwise I will send you right back to the Crystal Empire. Am I understood Captain Armor?” Celestia said.
Shining Armor gritted his teeth and said “As you wish, my Princess”. Shining saluted Celestia as he went to prepare for the fighting. Haruto walked over to Celestia.
“Are you sure putting me with him is wise Miss Celestia? He isn't exactly too fond of me for whatever reason,” Haruto reasoned. Celestia frowned at the ringed mage. Haruto held up his hands in defense and backed away. Haruto knew not to piss off a woman, or mare in this case, more than she already was. He learned that one the hard way after teasing Rinko too much one day.
“SOLDIERS!” Shining Armor yelled.
“You have your assignments, now form squads and let's move out!” Shining yelled. The soldiers pounded their spears on the ground in response. Each of the Riders paired up with their partner for the mission.
“Be prepared everyone. We don't know what Chrysalis might have in store for us,” Celestia said. Everyone nodded as they faced the city.
“MOVE OUT!” Shining Armor yelled. All at once, the squads set off for the different areas of the city.
Celestia marched alongside Shotaro and Phillip as they trekked through Canterlot. Seeing her precious city in such a state nearly brought her to tears. Buildings were partially destroyed, fires were raging everywhere, and destruction littered the streets. So far they had seen only a few changelings, which were quickly dispatched by Celestia herself.
“This is troubling,” Celestia said as they continued to march.
“Agreed Princess. I would've expected there to be more Kaijin by now,” Phillip said.
“Regardless, we can't let our guard down,” Shotaro said. Phillip and Celestia nodded in agreement. Celestia's face contorted into a sneer.
“I will make that witch pay for harming my little ponies,” Celestia said with malice. Shotaro placed a hand on the Princesses shoulder. Celestia found this strange, as she was usually the tallest pony at any given time, with only Luna and Cadance able to match her.
“Calm down Princess. I understand your anger,” Shotaro said.
“With all due respect Mister Shotaro, how can you? This city has been my home for so long. I have literally built most of this city with my own hooves. For over a thousand years, I have watched this city grow and flourish. I have watched ponies come and ponies go. This city is more than just a city it is my...my..”
“Garden,” Shotaro said. Celestia looked up at the detective.
“I understand your pain princess. The city where Phillip and I come from faced danger like this all the time. It broke my heart to see the people in my city fall to darkness,” Shotaro said as Phillip looked and Celestia looked at him.
“To see a place you love, a place filled with memories both good and bad be destroyed.....I know that pain all too well.”
“Mister Shotaro...” Celestia said, concern on her face for the detective.
“That's the reason we're here to begin with. To help you and make sure your city no longer has to cry,” Shotaro said as he tipped his hat. Celestia smiled at the detective.
“The Elements chose you Riders wisely,” Celestia said. Suddenly, she turned her head forward, her horn blazing. Coming toward them was a group of three Kaijin. Shotaro smiled at this.
“'Bout time they showed up. Phillip, let's go,” Shotaro said as he put on the Double Driver and produced his Joker memory. Phillip closed his book and stood next to Shotaro.
“I'll admit, I was getting a little bored. This should make things a little more exciting,” he said as he produced his Cyclone memory. They thrust their arms out in a W fashion.
“HENSHIN!” they said in unison as they placed their memories in the Driver. Shotaro opened the Driver as Phillip fell over, caught by Celestia's magic. Shotaro ran towards the Kaijin as his armor formed around him.
“Now, count up your crimes!” Shotaro and Phillip yelled as W, punching a Kaijin as they did so.
“SEIYA!” OOO yelled as he unleashed his Rider kick onto a Kaijin, causing it to explode. Eiji stopped for a moment to breath. He turned around to look at the aftermath of the battle that had just occurred. Guards were getting civilians out of a building that had been overrun by changelings and Kaijin. Thankfully, Eiji was there and had managed to destroy them.
Eiji tipped his belt up, canceling his transformation and returning him to civilian form. A unicorn guard approached him and saluted. Eiji found it odd to have a pony salute him, but he went along with it to be polite.
“All civilians have been cleared from the building and accounted for. Thankfully only minor injuries were sustained,” the guard reported. Eiji smiled at this.
“Good. Get them somewhere safe,” Eiji said.
The guard saluted him once more “Yes sir, OOO sir,” he said as he trotted off. Spike walked up to Eiji, grinning all the while.
“That was so cool Eiji. I wish I had powers like yours,” Spike said, fanboy mode on full blast. Eiji smiled at the young drake.
“Thank you Spike, but these powers come at a cost,” Eiji said as he looked down sullenly. Spike saw this and deflated.
“Sorry, I didn't think of that,” Spike said as he looked at the ground. Eiji smiled and patted the young dragon on the head.
“No need to apologize Spike. These powers may be costly, but I've been able to help so many people with them. That's more than enough reason for me to take the risks I do,” Eiji said. Spike smiled at the Rider.
“Thanks Eiji. But there's one thing that's been bugging me though,” Spike said.
“What's that?”
“Well, when you guys were fighting the Kaijin back on the ship, everyone else said a cool catch phrase. Why didn't you?” Spike said. Instantly Eiji's face darkened as he crouched into a fetal position, drawing little circles in the ground as he sulked.
“Did I touch a nerve?” Spike asked.
“Everyone's got a catch phrase. Shotaro and Phillip sempai, even my kouhai have cool catch phrases. I kept telling Ankh we should think of one but all he did was call me an idiot and smack me,” Eiji rambled. He put his head against his knees and wailed.
“I want a cool catch phrase! All I've got is my 'seiya' when I use my final attack,” Eiji said, crying like a little child who had their candy taken away. Spike walked up to Eiji and tapped him on the shoulder.
“I'm pretty good with stuff like that, maybe I could help,” Spike said as he tried to calm down the depressed Rider. Eiji wiped his nose and smiled.
“You'd really do that?” he said. Spike nodded and smiled. Eiji smiled back and stood.
“Thank you Spike,” Eiji said. Spike smiled as Eiji stood up, now out of his funk. Another guard walked up to the pair.
“Sirs, all the civilians have been cleared from the area,” he said.
“Good, let's keep moving. We've still got a lot of ground to cover before we reach the rendezvous point. Let's move out!” Eiji yelled in a confident voice. The guards saluted in unison as they fell into line and followed Spike and Eiji forward.
“So, what do you think would be a good catch phrase?” Eiji said to Spike as they walked.
The guards stood at attention, waiting for their next order after they had finished clearing the area of civilians and changelings.
Unfortunately for them, they would be waiting a while as Shining Armor and Haruto argued with one another.
“I told you that I had that situation handled Rider,” Shining spat at Haruto. Haruto sneered at the stallion
“Yeah right. You're lucky I'm able to make clones of myself otherwise you would be Kaijin chow right now,” Haruto spat back, waving his WizarSwordGun in the air as he did so.
“I don't need help from the likes of you. I didn't become Captain of Celestia's Royal Guard by being a slouch in combat,” Shining said, trying his best to look big next to the much taller human.
“I guess Celestia's got pretty low standards then,” Haruto said.
“That does it!” Shining said as he dove at the Rider. Haruto side stepped out of the way.
Bad idea.
From this vantage point Shining reared onto his front legs and bucked Haruto into a wall. The guards looked shocked at what had just transpired. They had never seen Shining Armor act so foalish before.
Haruto stood up, a small trickle of blood coming from his mouth. Haruto's eyes flashed with anger as a sadistic grin grew on his face.
“Fine then. You wanna play like that, I can play like that,” Haruto said as he slipped on a ring and placed his hand over his belt buckle.
EXCITE! PLEASE~!
Haruto's muscles suddenly grew to three times their normal size as he charged forward and punched Shining Armor in the face, sending him flying into a pile of stray crates.
Shining Armor shook off the debris and glared daggers at the mage, who had returned to normal size.
“Oh that tears it Rider!” Shining said as his horn flared.
“Bring it Shiny!” Haruto said as he placed his Flame Style ring on his left hand.
“Okay, that is enough!” a mare guard yelled as she and a stallion guard tackled Haruto and Shining Armor, pinning them to the ground. Haruto and Shining Armor struggled, but found themselves trapped under the guards' vice grip.
“Let me go this instant soldier or I'll have you court-martialed for assaulting your commanding officer,” Shining Armor yelled at the mare currently pinning him to the ground.
“Go ahead Captain Armor! Then I can explain to the Princesses and your wife about how you assaulted the Rider like a petulant foal!” the mare yelled. Shining went still as a stone. There were few things that Shining Armor feared, and the ire of his wife was one of them. He still had nightmares about the time Cadance had caught him with some old PlayColt magazines he had stumbled upon while cleaning one day. He would've rather faced a rampaging dragon than the wrath she had unleashed on him that day.
Shining craned his head up to look at the guard mare “You wouldn't dare,” he said. The mare tightened her grip on Shining Armor.
“Try me, sir,” she said. Shining Armor thought for a moment before he huffed in defeat.
“Fine! You win. Now can you let me go?” Shining said, resigning himself to his defeat. The mare smiled.
“With pleasure sir,” she said, nodding to the other guard. They released the two as they rubbed their wounds, still glaring at each other.
“Now make nice. There are still ponies who need to be saved. Or did you two forget about the evil changeling queen trying to take over the world with monsters from another dimension?” the mare said, her frustration growing towards the two.
Haruto and Shining sneered at each other.
“We'll settle this later Rider,” Shining said as he retrieved his helmet.
“Whatever,” Haruto said as he dusted himself off.
The mare shook her head at the two.
“Why do stallions always have to be so bull headed and violent?” she said.
“Says the mare who just put Captain Armor in a grapple hold,” the stallion guard said. She glared at him.
“Don't push your luck Star Streak, or I'll put you in a hold next ,” she said as she flicked the guard with her tail and walked back into line
“I wouldn't mind that actually,” the stallion thought as he made his way back into line.
“Mama, I'm scared,” a pegasus filly squeaked out as she held tight to her mother. They were trapped inside a burning building and the smoke and flames surrounded them on all sides.
“Don't worry honey, everything's gonna be okay. Mama will find us a way out,” the foal's mother said reassuringly as she held her filly. She coughed as the smoke continued to fill the building.
The mare ran around a corner. As she did so, she noticed that part of the ceiling was falling. She moved quickly to get out of the way. Unfortunately, she wasn't able to get out of the way in time as she found herself trapped under debris. Thankfully, she had gotten her foal out of the way.
“Mama!” the foal screamed as she ran to her mother's side. The mare tried to lift herself up, but found herself unable to lift the weight as her back legs were trapped.
“Misty, you need to run. I'll be fine, just get out to somewhere safe,” the mare said. The filly shook her head violently.
“No, I won't leave you mama,” the filly said as she desperately tried to lift the debris from her mother.
“Misty, there's no time. Listen to your mother and go,” the mare said with tears in her eyes. The filly continued to attempt to save her mother, tears in her eyes as well.
“Somepony help! Anypony, just somepony help,” the filly yelled. Suddenly, she heard a wall explode behind her. The mare and filly looked to see a red figure with a vaguely cone shaped head.
“Someone call for help,” Fourze said as he approached the two. The filly scooted away, afraid of the Rider as she closed her eyes. However, instead of feeling the figure attack them, she suddenly heard the sound of debris being lifted. She opened her eyes to see Fourze lifting the debris off of her mother.
“Are you okay?” Fourze asked. The mare tried to stand, but fell down, noticing blood streaming from one of her legs. Fourze saw this and nodded.
“You two sit tight,” he said as he proceeded to take the extinguisher portion of his Hee-Hack Gun off of his belt. He then took the Fire switch out of his belt and placed it into the gun. Immediately, sirens began to wail from the gun as it charged with power.
LIMIT BREAK!
“Firefighter, KITA!!!!!” Fourze yelled as water spewed from the Hee-Hack Gun, extinguishing the flames all around them in a matter of seconds. Once Fourze was done, he placed the Switch back into his belt and went to the mare and filly.
“Don't worry, you're safe now,” Fourze said. The mare and filly looked with shock at Fourze, unable to say anything. Suddenly, Fourze picked the two up and slung them over his shoulders.
“Hang tight, I'm gonna get you two outta here,” Fourze said as he proceeded down the hallway, putting out the fires as he did so.
Finally, Fourze was able to make his way out onto the street, where Luna and the Guards were waiting.
“These are the last two Luna,” Fourze said as he placed the mare and filly on the ground, careful of the mare's injured leg.
“Excellent work sir Fourze,” Luna said. Fourze knelt down and examined the mare's leg.
“Hold still for a moment,” Fourze said as he flipped a switch on his belt.
MEDICAL ~ ON!
Seconds later a yellow medical pack appeared on Fourze's left arm. He opened it up and took out a syringe with red liquid.
“This might sting a bit,” Fourze said as he put the syringe in the mare's leg. The mare hissed at the pain for a moment before she felt relief. Warily, she put her weight on her leg, finding it no longer in pain.
“Mama!” the filly said as she ran up and hugged her mother. The mare squeezed the filly for dear life. The two looked at Fourze and Luna.
“Thank goodness Medical works on non-humans as well. Now it's only a temporary fix, so make sure to see a doctor quick,” Fourze said as he flipped the switches on his belt up, canceling his transformation to reveal Gentarou. The mare and filly looked confused at the human. Nevertheless, they were grateful.
“Thank you so much Mister....?” the mare said. Gentarou smiled as he slicked back his hair, and pounded his fist against his chest, pointing a finger at the mare.
“I'm Kisaragi Gentarou, the man who will befriend the whole world,” he said with a smile. Luna smiled at Gentarou's display.
“Get these two somewhere safe,” Luna commanded. A guard saluted her.
“At once Ma'am,” he said as he ushered the mare and filly towards a safe house.
“Wait!” the filly said before she ran up to Gentarou and gave him a hug.
“Thank you so much for saving my mommy mister alien,” the filly said. Gentarou hugged her back and patted her on the head.
“Anytime,” he said as he broke the hug and the filly ran back to her mother. Luna walked up to the smiling human.
“We must say, thou may have more energy than Laughter, but thou art a fine warrior sir Gentarou,” Luna said. Gentarou smiled at Luna's compliment.
“I just can't stand to see people sad. It's part of why I love being a Rider and making new friends,” Gentarou said. Luna smiled sadly at Gentarou.
“We wish we had your sort of skill in the ways of friendship Gentarou. Whenever we try to make friends, ponies just run away scared,” Luna said. Gentarou looked at the lunar princess in shock.
“What!? Why would they do that? You're one of the Princesses of this place right?” Gentarou said.
“Yes, but we have only recently gained our title back,” Luna said sadly.
“Why's that?” Gentarou asked. Luna looked sadly at the Rider before sighing.
“We had been sealed away for a thousand years after we became jealous of our sister and became the monster Nightmare Moon. We only returned to our senses after Twilight Sparkle and the other Elements rid us of our evil,” Luna said. Gentarou looked at her shocked, but still kept his composure.
“Since our return, we have tried to regain the trust of our beloved subjects, but to little avail. All they see when they look at me is a monster,” Luna said, a small tear escaping her eyes. Gentarou went up and patted Luna on the back.
“Well you're not evil anymore right?” Gentarou said.
“Of course we aren't! We never want to return to being Nightmare Moon,” Luna said.
“Then all is forgiven. Besides, you said you had a little success with gaining your people's trust back right?” Gentarou said in a surprising display of insight.
“'Tis true. We have made friends with the Elements as well as gaining the adoration of some of the foals in Ponyville,” Luna said, thinking about the Cutie Mark Crusaders and Pip.
“See, you have made progress. Just because they’re scared of you now doesn't mean they'll be scared of you forever. Give it time and they'll warm up to you,” Gentarou said reassuringly. Luna wiped the tears from her eyes and looked up at Gentarou.
“Thank you Gentarou,” Luna said. Gentarou smiled at this.
“Hey, that's what friends are for,” Gentarou said.
Before Luna could say anything else, a guard approached them.
“Princess Luna, we have cleared the area. Thankfully there were few casualties,” the guard said. Luna cleared her throat.
“Very good. Rally the guard and prepare to move toward the rendezvous point,” Luna said.
“At once Ma'am,” the guard said as he went to complete his task.
“Let's go, I haven't had my fill of fighting Kaijin yet,” Gentarou said as he prepared to henshin again.
“This one could give Laughter a run for her bits,” Luna thought as the group prepared to move out.
“All right, the other squads should be here soon. For now, everypony rest and tend to any wounds you may have,” Twilight said. The guards saluted her as they went about their business.
Kouta sighed next to her as he sat down. Twilight looked at Kouta with concern. Throughout their entire journey he had not canceled his transformation. She sat down next to him, removing her helmet.
“Kouta, I said we could rest. You don't have to be in Rider form for right now,” Twilight said. Kouta waved a hand at her.
“Don't worry, I'm fine. Besides, I want to be ready in case something attacks us,” Kouta said. Despite what he was saying, Kouta was breathing heavily. Twilight scrunched her face in frustration as she flipped the Lock Seed on Kouta's Driver closed, canceling his transformation.
“Hey!” Kouta said. He stopped his protests after seeing Twilight glare at him.
“I..guess I could take a little break,” Kouta said. Twilight sighed as she rubbed the sides of her head.
“I'm sorry, I'm just stressed,” she said.
“Aren't we all?” Kouta said.
“You know what I mean. I'm still worried about my friends. I keep thinking about what Chrysalis might be doing to them, or if they-” she was cut off by Kouta planting his hand over her mouth.
“Relax Twilight, I understand,” Kotua said as he removed his hand.
“Sorry,” she said.
“It's alright. Truth be told, I'm worried about my friends back home too,” Kouta said as his face darkened.
“What's going on in your world?” Twilight asked. Kouta sighed.
“Everything's been going to hell lately. Ever since we found these stupid belts, everything's been turned completely upside down. The whole town is demonizing me and my friends, Yggdrasil keeps trying to cover up our world being taken over by Helheim, and Kaito keeps going off on his own trying to become stronger or something,” Kouta said. Twilight blinked, trying to take everything in.
“Wow, I didn't know things were so bad in your world,” Twilight said.
“I keep trying to find a solution, but so far I've got nothing except to keep fighting,” Kouta said.
Twilight looked down for a moment, unable to think of what to say. After a few moments, she spoke.
“I think I know what you mean,” Twilight said.
“How so?” Kouta asked.
Twilight spread her wings “Until a few weeks ago, I didn't have these. I was just a regular unicorn. But ever since I passed some test, I ascended and became the alicorn I am now,” she said. Kouta looked at her dumbfounded, but listened intently.
“Once I got my wings, I was crowned a Princess. Ever since, It's been nothing but work. Etiquette lessons, diplomacy lessons, learning how to fly, not to mention having to stop Celestia's former student Sunset Shimmer from taking over another dimension,” Twilight said. Kouta blinked, dumbfounded.
“And you say my universe is strange,” Kotua said. Twilight snorted a bit before bursting out laughing. Kouta himself started to laugh along with her.
After a few minutes, both of them stopped laughing and smiled at each other.
“I guess we've both got a lot on our plates,” Kouta said.
“Indeed. But, at least we've got friends to help us through it,” Twilight said, her face darkening at the mention of her friends. Kouta patted her on the back.
“Don't worry Twilight, we'll rescue them. Riders keep their promises,” Kouta said, smiling at the lavender mare. Twilight smiled in return.
“Thanks Kouta,” Twilight said.
“Princess!” a guard yelled as he ran up to them.
“What is it?” Twilight said, putting her helm back on.
“The other squads have begun to arrive,” the guard said.
“Very good. We'll meet with them immediately,” Twilight said.
“Yes Princess,” the guard said as he ran off. Kotua sighed as he stood up.
“No rest for the weary I suppose,” he said as they went to meet with the other squads.
“All areas seem to be clear of civilians and Kaijin. There are still a few fires raging in the southern part of the city but the crew of the XVII have gone to take care of them,” Celestia said as they looked over a 3D magical map of the city.
“Excellent. What should our next course of action be?” Luna asked. Celestia changed the image on image on the map to a view of the Exodus.
“Next we attack Chrysalis and Foundation X right at their core. With the Riders standing with us and all of us back at full strength, we should be able to defeat them,” Celestia said. Everyone nodded except for Phillip and Shining Armor.
“Something wrong guys?” Twilight asked.
“This has been too easy,” Phillip said.
“As much as I hate to admit it, he's right. We all ran into Kaijin, sure, but we were met with relatively little resistance,” Shining Armor said.
“If what we've learned about Chrysalis is accurate, she should have a much bigger army than this,” Phillip said. Everyone looked at each other troubled.
“Maybe that big bug has decided to retreat with us here now,” Gentarou said. Phillip shook his head.
“Not likely. If she was planning to retreat, she would have by now. No, there's something else going on here,” Phillip said. Suddenly, Haruto perked up and placed his ringed hand over his belt buckle.
DEFEND! PLEASE~!
Haruto's spell came just in time as blast of energy came at them from one of the buildings.
“Impressive Wizard. I see you haven't lost your touch,” a voice said.
“Show yourself!” Haruto yelled. Stepping out of the shadows was none other than one of the commanders of the Phantoms, Medusa.
“Long time no see ring bearing mage,” Medusa said.
“Medusa, but how!? Fueki killed you,” Haruto said.
“Come on silly Rider,” a voice said, playing cards suddenly hurtling at them and exploding. Bouncing next to Medusa was one of the Zodiarts, Gemini.
“The old bad guys always show up for crossovers,” Gemini said, giggling sadistically.
“Gemini!' Gentarou yelled.
“That's not all,” two voices said as two blade slashes hit the group. Landing next to Gemini and Medusa were the Nazca Dopant and the Overlord Demushu.
“Nazca!” Phillip and Shotaro yelled.
“An Overlord!? What the hell's going on here!?” Kouta yelled.
“You're end Riders,” Nazca said.
“We're going to crush you apes and those feeble Princesses right here and now,” Demushu growled.
“Indeed,” another voice yelled as water exploded in torrents around them. Now standing by Medusa was none other than the Greeed Mezool.
“How is this possible!? We destroyed all of you, I smashed your Core myself Mezool,” Eiji yelled.
Mezool laughed at the Rider “Such is the power of our new Mistress and Foundation X,” she said.
“Shut up! We beat you all once, we can beat you again!” Gentarou said as he and the other Riders produced their belts.
Medusa smirked at this as she looked at her fellow general Kaijin.
“Well then, shall we?” she said. They all nodded as they glowed with ethereal energy.
“But of course,” Mezool said.
“Yay! Who can I kill first!?” Gemini said as she produced bladed playing cards.
“I'll crush them,” Demushu said.
“Get in line Overlord,” Nazca said.
The Riders all yelled as they rushed toward the Kaijin.
“HENSHIN!!”
How will the Riders fare against their old foes?

The Battle Begins Part 2
“HENSHIN!” the Riders yelled as they all transformed, roaring as they fought their respective old foe. Celestia, Twilight, Luna, Shining Armor, and the soldiers watched as the Rider's battled.
W had transformed into HeatMetal, and was using the Metal Shaft to block the sword strikes from Nazca. Nazca was striking with surprising speed from W's earlier encounter with the Dopant.
“How is Nazca this quick? He's not even reached Level 2 yet,” Shotaro said as he ducked out of the way of a slash.
“I don't know Shotaro,” Phillip said. Nazca disappeared in a burst of speed, only to appear behind them and slash W across the back.
“Hah! You fools can't even begin to match my speed,” Nazca said as he grabbed W before growing wings and flying upwards, W struggling against Nazca's bonds.
OOO fought with Mezool, trying his best to strike the Greeed. However, Mezool kept blocking his attacks and striking him in turn with blasts of high pressure water. Mezool laughed at OOO.
“What's the matter Rider? Getting tired?” Mezool said in a haughty tone. OOO grunted as he kept up his attacks. Mezool laughed as she leaped onto a building.
“Why don't we make this fight a little more interesting,” Mezool said as she produced several Cell Medals before breaking them in half. From the broken medals came several Trash Yummies.
Mezool jumped down towards the middle of the group of Yummies, pointing a finger towards OOO.
“Go my little Yummies, make mama proud,” Mezool said as the Yummies slowly began to swarm OOO.
Fourze fought with Gemini atop a building. Fourze had activated his Launcher module and Gatling modules but was having difficulty hitting her as she kept bouncing around.
“Grr! Stay still!” Fourze yelled as he kept firing bullets and missiles. Gemini managed to evade all of these attacks as she landed on top of a chimney.
“Let me think about that, hmmm.....nope!” She said as she produced her playing cards and threw them at Fourze, the cards exploding on impact. Fourze breathed heavily as he looked at the Horoscope.
“Okay, try this!” Fourze said as he produced his Elek switch, placing it in his belt and activating it.
ELEK ~ ON!
Fourze's armor crackled with electricity as his armor changed from white to gold and his weapon Billy the Rod appeared in his right hand. Once the transformation had ceased, he put one of the plugs on his weapon into a slot. The weapon crackled with power as Fourze used his jet pack to propel himself forward, managing to strike Gemini, electricity crackling across the Horoscope's body.
Instead of howling in pain, Gemini only laughed, which unnerved Fourze.
“That looks like fun. Let me try that,” Gemini said as she produced a Horoscope switch. She pressed the switch, the constellation for Virgo shining as the Horoscope transformed into Virgo. The Horoscope pointed it's staff at Fourze, firing off a few energy bursts which caused the Rider to fall off the building and landing on a cart, shattering it in the process.
“Ugh, I hate when they change like that,” Fourze groaned. He quickly came back to his senses as Virgo descended on him, firing off more energy bursts.
Wizard, in his Water form, was not fairing much better as Medusa struck him with her staff. Wizard huffed as Medusa chuckled at him.
“I was wrong, you've gotten sloppy mage,” Medusa said as she continued to laugh at Wizard. Wizard propped himself up with his WizarSwordGun.
“Perhaps I should've taken Rinko's advice and changed my all donut diet,” Wizard said.
“Really though my dear Wizard, I would've thought you would fare better than this. I guess you're nothing without your little cheer squad around,” Medusa said as she proceeded to ensnare Wizard in her snake hair tendrils. Wizard struggled in her grasp, trying to escape.
“Give up ring bearing mage. You might as well fall into despair now,” Medusa said as she began to crush Wizard in her grasp. Wizard yelled, trying to escape. Thankfully, he managed to flip his belt to the side as he placed his right hand on the belt.
LIQUID! PLEASE~!
Wizard's body turned into a liquid form as he escaped Medusa's grasp and grabbed her in choke hold.
“Sorry, falling into despair isn't in my job description,” Wizard said as Medusa flung him off and they began their fight anew.
Sparks flew off of Gaim's armor as Demushu slashed him across the chest. Gaim, despite his injury, was still holding his own against the Overlord.
“Why is an Overlord working with Foundation X? And since when were you guys able to speak our language?” Kouta said. Although his experiences with the Overlords usually led to him getting beaten and hurt, he always remembered them speaking their own language and not working with humans despite his efforts. Demushu responded by striking Gaim with his weapon, although Gaim managed to block this attack with his Musou Saber.
“Silence ape! You need know nothing,” Demushu said as he pushed Gaim's sword to the side, whirled around, and kicked Gaim so hard he went through a building wall.
As Gaim wheezed on the ground from the impact, he thought for a moment.
“I don't remember this one being so powerful,” Gaim thought before Demushu reappeared.
As the Riders were losing ground, Twilight turned to the Princesses.
“Isn't there anything we can do to help them?” Twilight asked. Princess Celestia looked at her with a distressed look on her face.
“I don't know Twilight. These Kaijin are stronger than other ones we have faced before. I don't think even the Riders could be a match for them,” Celestia said. Just as she said that, the Riders were knocked in front of them, groaning form their injuries as the Kaijin approached.
“Give up you pathetic Riders. You can't even begin to fathom what Foundation X or our Mistress have in store for you,” Medusa said as she laughed at the Riders, the other Kaijin generals joining her.
The Riders looked at each other, downtrodden.
“Come on guys, we've got to think of something,” Gaim said.
“I'm all ears orange boy,” Wizard said. As the Kaijin readied for an attack, suddenly they were hit with a blast of purple energy. The Kaijin and Riders looked to see Twilight Sparkle standing tall, her horn blazing with purple energy and her armor glinting in the sunlight.
“Well well, what have we here? The rookie Princess thinks she can stand up to us?” Medusa said. Twilight advanced to where she was standing in front of the Riders. The Riders, Celestia, Luna, Spike, and Shining Armor watched with worry and curiosity.
“I may be a rookie Princess, but I'm no rookie when it comes to fighting evil monsters. I helped purge Princess Luna of the Nightmare, I helped stop the embodiment of chaos itself. You may be powerful, but I'm just as strong. I am Twilight Serena Sparkle, Princess of Equestria, former student of Princess Celestia, the Element of Magic, and I will not stand idly by and watch you destroy the lives of my subjects. So prepare yourselves, because I'm going to stop you no matter what!” Twilight said as she readied herself into a fighting stance, her nostrils flaring
The Kaijin merely laughed at her words. Twilight was perturbed by this, but stood strong
“A fine speech Princess. Now how about you back up all that big talk,” Nazca said as he flew at Twilight his sword raised. Twilight readied herself for the Kaijin's attack, but as Nazca's sword fell, suddenly explosions racked his body. Twilight looked to see that Wizard had shot at Nazca with his WizarSwordGun. As he lowered his weapon, he looked at Twilight.
“You're stronger than I first thought Twilight,” Wizard said as he and the other Riders stood up.
“Twilight's right! These guys may be tough, but we've faced worse,” Fourze said. The Riders walked towards Twilight, standing at her side. She looked at them, a smile upon her face.
“Well said Twilight,” Celestia said as she, Luna, Spike, and Shining Armor joined the line, their army rallying behind them. Shining Armor looked at his sister, a proud look on his face.
“On your command Princess,” Shining Armor said. Twilight smiled at him before turning her attention to the Kaijin, a fierce look on her face. The Kaijin look troubled at this, but still stood strong.
“It's going to take a lot more than pretty words to beat us fools,” Medusa said as she snapped her fingers. Behind them, a small army of lesser Kaijin appeared.
Twilight's horn blazed to life as she triumphantly yelled “ATTACK!!!”
The two armies charged toward each other as the Riders faced off with the General Kaijin. However, this time they were not alone. Twilight teamed up with Gaim, Shining teamed up with Wizard, Luna teamed up with Fourze, Spike teamed up with OOO, and Celestia teamed up with W.
Celestia and W fought with Nazca. The Dopant tried to outmatch them with his speed. However, the Dopant was no match for Celestia. Everywhere he went, Celestia was waiting.
“Grr, how are you so fast!?” he said as he swung his sword at her. A smirk appeared on Celestia's face as she disappeared, only to reappear behind Nazca, kicking him through a building.
“I'm the Princess of the sun. If I wish, I can move at the speed of light,” Celestia said as W walked up to her.
“If you could do that, why haven't you done it before?” W asked. Celestia whispered to the two-in-one Rider.
“You ever tried moving at light speed before, it's not easy. I can only do it on special occasions, like fighting monsters for example,” she said. W thought for a moment before nodding.
“I suppose that makes sense,” W said. They turned to see that Nazca had dug himself out of the rubble.
“No one outclasses me in speed,” Nazca said as he flew at the two.
“Well, guess we'll just have to prove him wrong won't we Princess,” W said.
“Indeed,” Celestia said, her horn shining as she and W charged Nazca.
Spike and OOO fought back to back against the Trash Yummies Mezool had summoned. OOO was ripping away at them with his claws while Spike kept spitting fire. All the while, Mezool watched.
“Hm, impressive, the young dragon shows promise,” Mezool said. She jumped down to where Spike was and grabbed the young dragon, holding him upside down.
“Perhaps I'll ask the mistress if I can keep you around as a pet,” Mezool said as she ran a finger under Spike's chin. Spike responded by breathing fire in her face, causing Mezool to drop Spike.
“I'm nobodies pet!” Spike said as he shot another blast of fire at the Kaijin. However this time his attack was blocked by a gout of water.
“You'll pay for that you insolent brat,” Mezool said as the Yummies began to converge on Spike.
LION! TORA! CHEETAH! LA-TAH LA-TAH, LA-TORA~~TAR!
Mezool turned to where the sound had come from, but was met with a blinding, searing light. Sparks flew off her body as she felt something slash her. Once her vision was restored, she saw that OOO had transformed into the LaToraTa combo, Spike cradled in his arms. She also saw that many of her Yummies had been destroyed. OOO set Spike down as he looked at Mezool.
“Damn you OOO! I'll get you for that!” Mezool said.
“Try it Mezool,” OOO said as he raised his claws and ran at Mezool. Spike looked on with awe.
“So cool!” Spike thought before he remembered he was in a battle. He sprayed fire at the enemy Kaijin, trying his best to stay near OOO.
Fourze and Luna were having trouble fighting Gemini. The Kaijin kept switching between different Horoscopes forms. Fourze looked at Luna, both of them trying to think of a plan.
“Any ideas Princess?” Gentarou asked. Luna shook her head.
“We are afraid not. This Kaijin fights with such an erratic style. We can't read her moves,” Luna said. Fourze contemplated this for a moment before perking up.
“Wait, that's it! We're spending too much time trying to figure out her style. We just need to fight however we feel like,” Fourze said. Luna considered this for a moment before she nodded in agreement.
“It's worth a shot,” Luna said. As she said that, a few playing cards flew at the two, exploding in front of them. They looked to see that Gemini was bouncing on her feet, laughing at the two.
“Come on, is that the best you two-” Gemini said before she was cut off by a blast of dark blue magic coming towards her. The blast hit Gemini and threw her into a wall. Gemini stood up shakily, only to see Fourze standing before her, now in Magnet States.
“No fair! You didn't let me finish my speech!” Gemini said in a huff.
“You wanna know what else isn't fair?” Fourze said.
“What?” Gemini said. Fourze pulled the lever on his belt, causing the N&S Magnet Cannon to form in front of him.
“This,” Fourze said as he pressed the button on the N Magnet Switch, .
LIMIT BREAK!
“RIDER ELECTROMAGNETIC BOMBER!!!” Fourze yelled as he fired at Gemini, sending her flying through a group of Kaijin and into another building. Luna landed next to Fourze.
“Well done Sir Fourze, although we would appreciate if you could try to keep collateral damage to a minimum,” Luna chided. Fourze bowed in apology.
“Sorry,” he said. Suddenly, the two heard a rumbling coming from where Gemini had landed. Gemini was surrounded in a dark pink aura and she was chuckling maniacally. She walked towards the two, swaying from side to side.
“Fine then. You two wanna play dirty?” Gemini said. Suddenly, the dark pink aura produced a second Gemini.
“Let's play dirty,” the two Geminis said in unison. They charged at Gentarou and Luna. In their hands instead of playing cards they held multiple daggers.
“Art thou ready for Round 2 Sir Fourze?” Luna said. Fourze nodded.
“LET'S GO!!” Fourze yelled as he and Luna each took on a Gemini.
Wizard and Shining Armor were relentless in their assault on Medusa. Wizard kept firing shots from his WizarSwordGun while Shining Armor kept getting in strikes with his sword and his magic.
“I was right mage! You're nothing without someone backing you up!” Medusa said as she shot a tentacle in Wizard's direction. However, these tentacles were quickly sliced apart by Shining Armor's sword.
“Maybe she's right Rider, maybe you're just not up to snuff,” Shining said in a snarky tone. Wizard growled at this. He replaced the ring on his left hand with his Flame Dragon ring.
“How's this for up to snuff?” Wizard said as he flipped his belt and placed his ringed hand over it.
FLAME, DRAGON! BOU-BOU, BOU-BOU-BOU!
A magic circle passed through Wizard, a psectral dragon moving around him as his armor changed from black to red. His armor also gained more ornamentation along his chest, shoulders, and helmet, making him appear more dragon like. Wizard placed a ring on his right hand, but instead of flipping his belt he opened the Hand Author on his WizarSwordGun and placed his ringed hand over it.
COPY! PLEASE~!
Suddenly a second WizarSwordGun appeared in Wizard's opposite hand, this one also in gun mode. Wizard spun around as he dual fired shots at Medusa, causing the Phantom to stagger. Wizard twirled his guns in his hands and looked at Shining Armor.
“Well?” he said. Shining Armor snorted.
“Show off,” Shining Armor said as he and Wizard got themselves into a fighting stance upon seeing Medusa charging towards them.
Gaim and Twilight fought fiercely against Demushu. Twilight was using her magic to guard herself and Gaim against the Overlord's attacks while Gaim battered him with slashes and bullets.
The Overlord staggered for a moment, seething with rage.
“Damn you! I'll end you both, ape and pony alike!” Demushu said as he slammed his sword into the ground, causing plants form Helheim to appear and try to attack the two. Gaim, thinking quickly, replaced his Rider Indicator on his belt with the Genesis Core. He produced his Lemon Energy Lockseed, clicking it open.
LEMON ENERGY~!
The Orange Lockseed flipped closed and unlocked from the belt. Gaim placed the Lemon Energy in the Genesis Core, locking both Lockseeds into place and slicing them open.
SOIYA! MIX! ORANGE ARMS, HANAMICHI ON STAGE! JIMBER LEMON! HA-HA!
Gaim's armor flew off his body, mixing with the Lemon Energy armor to form his Jimber Arms armor. As the armor flew, it protected Gaim and Twilight from the Helheim vines. Once the armor landed on Gaim's shoulder's it unfolded into the Jimber Lemon Arms. Gaim's armor now looked much more encompassing and cumbersome, with thicker chest armor and large pauldrons. As the Sonic Arrow appeared in Gaim's right hand, he pulled the string back and fired a shot at Demushu, destroying the vines and causing sparks to fly off of the Overlord. Twilight walked up to Gaim.
“How many different forms do you Riders have?” Twilight asked. Gaim thought for a moment before shrugging.
“As many as it takes I suppose,” he said. Before Twilight could face-hoof, Demushu regained his footing. He roared at the two as dark red light formed around him.
“I'll crush you lesser beings under my feet,” Demushu said. Gaim readied his Sonic Arrow and Twilight's horn began to glow. Soon, they both fired their shots at the Overlord, wracking the area with explosions.
Soon, the battle began to die down. Surprisingly, the Royal Guards were able to fend off the lesser Kaijin, even managing to destroy some alongside the Riders.
Eventually, all that remained was the General Kaijin. They were battered and injured from their battles. Before them stood the Riders, Twilight, the Princesses, Spike, and Shining Armor.
“I think it's time we finished this,” Gaim said. The other Riders nodded as they prepared their final attacks.
“You might want to rethink that course of action foolish Riders,” a voice said. Everyone looked up to see Chrysalis standing atop a building, Retsu and a few Kaijin by her side.
“Chrysalis!” Shining Armor growled. Chrysalis chuckled.
“Yes Shining Armor, it is I. So good to see you again,” she said in a mocking tone.
“The feeling isn't mutual you cockroach,” Shining Armor said seething with anger.
“Come now Shining Armor, is that any way to speak to an ex-fiance?” she said.
Shining Armor gritted his teeth “You were never my fiance witch! You brainwashed me and used me like a cheap toy!” Shining Armor said, trying his best to keep his anger in check.
“Ah, happy memories,” Chrysalis said. Shining Armor looked like he wanted to rip the Changeling Queen's head off. He was about to charge at her before Celestia placed a wing in front of him.
“Stand down Captain Armor,” Celestia said in a commanding tone. Shining Armor reluctantly complied.
“Give up Chrysalis! We've decimated your army and defeated your Generals. Surrender now and we may consider sparing you and the rest of Foundation X,” Celestia said. All this did was cause Chrysalis to laugh hysterically.
Between laughs, Chrysalis managed to say “You seriously think you've won? HA! Not even close. Retsu, why don't you explain it to them,” Chrysalis said. Retsu pushed his glasses up and stepped forward.
“Gladly. Tell me Kamen Riders, aren't you the least bit curious how we were able to bring back your past enemies?” Retsu said. The Riders all looked at each other with concern and confusion.
“We'll admit we're curious, but what should it matter? We're just gonna crush them anyway!” Fourze said, the other Riders nodding in agreement.
“You may want to rethink that course of action,” Retsu said. Everyone looked at each other confused.
“And why is that?” Twilight asked. Retsu laughed, which unsettled everyone, even Chrysalis.
“Perhaps it would be better to show you first hand,” Retsu said as he snapped his fingers. The Kaijin generals suddenly stood straight up and formed a straight line.
“Kaijin, show them the true power of Foundation X,” Retsu said.
“Yes Master ,” they all said. Suddenly, all of them began to glow as they shed their Kaijin forms to reveal their true appearances. When they did, everyone stood their shocked.
“It can't be,” Celestia said.
“Those vile monsters,” Luna said.
“No, this can't be possible,” Spike said, shaking his head.
“Damn you Chrysalis,” Shining Armor.
Twilight looked at the true appearance of the Kaijin, falling to the ground, unable to believe her eyes.
“No,” she said weakly, a single tear trailing her face.
She looked to see that the General Kaijin were none other than..........

Author's Note
Hey everyone, BladeSpark here with a new chapter of Battle for Equestria. Now before any of you start writing angry comments about the cliffhanger, I have one thing to say............I'm the author and I can do what I want. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!
Nah, I'm just kidding. Worry not, all will be revealed in time. And much quicker this time as I now have a better schedule of keeping my writing in order. I am in college at the moment, and I will need time to work on my homework and crap. But regardless, I will start working on these chapters more frequently as I find time.
Anyway, I hope you all enjoyed the chapter, and as always, stay awesome. BladeSpark, signing out.
(P.S., How are you all enjoying Drive thus far? I personally really like it thus far.)

The Sting of Defeat
Previously on Battle for Equestria:
“Perhaps it would be better to show you first hand,” Retsu said as he snapped his fingers. The Kaijin generals suddenly stood straight up and formed a straight line.
“Kaijin, show them the true power of Foundation X,” Retsu said.
“Yes Master,” they all said.
And now, the thrilling conclusion.
She looked to see that the General Kaijin were none other than -
Her friends.
Pinkie Pie, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, and Fluttershy stood in the line, except they looked very different.
Pinkie Pie's mane held none of its usual poof, now hanging down straight from her head. Her usual smile now held a manic, almost sadistic gleam to it. Her eyes had also changed from their normal blue to black with gold irises. Her Cutie Mark had changed to that of the Gemini constellation.
Applejack's eyes were now a frightening shade of red and her stetson was nowhere to be seen. However, the most horrific part was now her right front hoof was replaced with a green clawed hand, vines spreading from it and up to her face. Her Cutie Mark had also changed, her's looking like a strange fruit wrapped in vines.
Rarity, Rainbow Dash, and Fluttershy looked largely the same except their eyes had changed to black and gold and their Cutie Marks too had been altered. Their marks had changed to that of an ouroboros around a purple magic circle, a stylized N shape, and a group of three blue coins respectively. Rainbow Dash also had a black mark on her neck that looked to be some kind of connector port.
Twilight and the others looked in horror at what had been done to the former Elements. Spike was so overcome that he threw up. Chrysalis smiled sadistically as she began to walk by the corrupted Elements.
“Chrysalis! What have you done to the Elements!?” Celestia said in fury.
“Aren't they simply lovely? Retsu and the rest of Foundation X did a fantastic job with the enhancements,” Chrysalis said as she rubbed a hoof along Fluttershy's face.
“Don't sell yourself short Chrysalis. Your knowledge of mind control made the process so much easier. Although we must take some of the credit for infusing them with the abilities of old Kaijin we had on record ” Retsu said as he joined Chrysalis.
“You're a monster!!” Spike yelled in a pained voice.
“I think your former Element bearers are the monsters now,” Chrysalis said.
Before anyone could do or say anything, Twilight got to her hooves and began to weakly walk forward.
“Girls, is that really you?” Twilight said as she shuffled forward.
“Twilight stop!” Celestia said as she watched her student.
“I'm so glad you're all alive. Now we can go back to Ponyville and prepare for the Summer Sun Celebration like we were supposed to,” she continued to say as she finally got to her friends.
“Twily, come back now!” Shining Armor yelled at his sister.
Twilight began shaking her friends one by one.
“Come on girls, stop messing around. Why won't any of you say anything!?” Twilight said, her voice now frantic and tears streaming down her face. Twilight was then grabbed in a magic grip by Chrysalis and brought face to face with the Changeling Queen.
“It's too late Twilight Sparkle, your friends are under my control now. We wiped their memories during the enhancements. As far as they are concerned, you are a stranger,” Chrysalis said as she threw Twilight back, Twilight landing with a thud at the Riders' feet.
“Twilight!” Everyone yelled as they rushed to the now hysteric princess. Celestia picked up her former student, tears forming as she looked at Twilight and received a blank stare.
“No, no, it can't be. My friends can't have forgotten me, they can't have forgotten me,” Twilight babbled as she continued to cry. Celestia too began to cry as she cradled her former student in her hooves.
Chrysalis laughed as she looked upon the now broken Twilight.
“Oh how the mighty have fallen Princess. How does it feel to have those close to you stripped of all that they are and forgetting you!?” Chrysalis said.
“CHRYSALIS!!!!!!!!” Shining Armor yelled as he got to his hooves and stared at the Changeling Queen.
“Ah, Shining Armor, I almost forgot you were here. Do you have something you want to say?” Chrysalis said in a mocking tone. Shining Armor removed his helmet, revealing dangerous looking eyes.
“As a matter of fact I do,” he said as he began to remove pieces of his armor.
“For too long I've been sidelined as those I love are put in danger. Against you, against Sombra, even now against the Kaijin the Riders have been the ones protecting everypony,” Shining Armor said as he got to the last piece of his armor.
“Captain Armor what are you doing?” Celestia asked, concern strong in her voice. Shining Armor ignored her.
“But that ends today. You've hurt my family for the last time you damn cockroach! I'm finally gonna squash you. This isn't about protecting Equestria anymore, this is just good old fashioned revenge,” Shining Armor said as he removed the final grieve on his right foreleg, revealing a bright red, wing-like mark on his pelt. Celestia and Luna looked alarmed when they saw the mark.
“Sister, that mark!” Luna yelled.
“Shining Armor stand down this instant!” Celestia said as got to her hooves, giving Twilight to Spike.
“No my Princess! I'm ending this. Right here, right now!” Shining Armor said as he raised his right hoof into the sky, his horn and foreleg glowing in a golden aura as he began reciting the spell.
Gather! O river of light that's guided by the Fairies!
Shining Armor brought his hoof down and pointed it at Chrysalis. The area around him was now enveloped in a heavenly golden tower of light.
Shine! In order to perish the fangs of evil!
The tower of light shone into the sky as Shining Armor recited the final line of the spell.
Fairy Glitter!
The golden light formed into a halo and fell around Chrysalis. Everyone shielded their eyes as the halo wrapped around Chrysalis. The ground began to break around her as she visibly began to struggle against the magic.
However, just before it looked like Chrysalis would be defeated, the halo broke.
Everyone watched as the golden light dissipated, revealing an almost unharmed Chrysalis.
Shining Armor stood there, a defeated expression on his face as his back legs buckled and he fell on his backside. Chrysalis saw this and smiled at the dejected Captain.
“What's the matter Shining Armor, shocked your little magic trick didn't work?' Chrysalis said.
Shining Armor merely sat there, unable to think of anything to say.
“A valiant effort though. A spell of that caliber would have surely destroyed the old me. But I've grown even more powerful in my absence Captain,” Chrysalis said as she began to glow a sickly green color. Soon she was enveloped in a black and green aura as her form began to change. When the aura dissipated, Chrysalis looked very different.
Her insectoid wings had grown larger and she had sprouted another pair. She had now become bipedal and had a much more armored appearance, with green and black armor now covering the majority of her body, a holed skirt trailing from her back. Her horn had extended in length and looked even more jagged than before. She now held a staff in her new hands.
Celestia, Luna, Spike, Shining Armor, and the Riders looked at Chrysalis with mixed looks of shock and fear.
“She looks like a Kaijin,” W said in Shotaro's voice.
“For once we agree Rider,” Retsu said as he stepped forward.
“Did you all seriously think I wouldn't enhance myself with the power these Kaijin possess? If so, you're even more foolish than I thought,” Chrysalis said. As if to demonstrate her point she fired a blast from her staff at Shining Armor, hitting him in the same spot where the spell mark used to be.
Shining Armor screamed as his foreleg went limp, now bleeding and smoking. Celestia quickly grabbed Shining Armor in her magic and pulled him next to Twilight.
“You have lost Princess. It doesn't matter if your Riders defeat a thousand Kaijin, you can't stand against us,” Retsu said.
Celestia ground her teeth at the human as she began weighing her options.
Suddenly, Retsu clapped his hands together.
“Chrysalis, I just had the most wonderful idea,” Retsu said. Chrysalis turned to her human accomplice.
“And what would that be Retsu?” Chrysalis asked. Retsu chuckled a bit as he turned to address the Riders.
“Riders, I have a little proposition for you all,” Retsu said.
The Riders looked at each other confused before Fourze said “What is it you Foundation X bastard?”
Retsu laughed as he walked over to the five mind controlled Element bearers.
“You've lost, there's no question about it. So how about we end this quickly? You Riders will surrender yourselves and the Elements. In exchange, we will leave this battle alone for today and let Celestia and her pathetic army live,” Retsu said.
“And what if we say no?” Wizard asked. Retsu laughed as he suddenly pulled out a small device that looked like a detonator of some sort.
“If you don't, then I'm afraid your young Princess' friends will be...well I think you can guess what will happen then,” Retsu said as he opened the detonator and put a finger on the switch.
“NO!” Twilight yelled as she tried to escape the grip of Celestia. Retsu saw this and smiled smugly.
“What will it be Riders?' Retsu said as he hovered his finger over the switch. After a few moments, the Riders canceled their transformations one by one until they were all back to their civilian forms. Phillip joined them a moment later after waking up. Retsu smiled at them.
“Good. I knew you lot would see things my way,” Retsu said as he closed the detonator. He snapped his fingers, which caused Twilight's friends to transition back into their Kaijin forms as they went to restrain the Riders, taking their belts away as well. Chrysalis also returned to her normal form.
However, as they were cuffing the Riders, they heard a robotic squawking noise fill the air. Soon a large black metallic bird began flying around them before stopping above Phillip.
“The Xtreme Memory! What's that doing here?” Shotaro asked. Before anyone could react, Phillip's body became a stream of data that was sucked up into the Xtreme Memory. After Phillip was fully absorbed, the birdlike memory flew away.
“He really wasn't kidding about that being made of data thing,” Haruto said.
“After that thing!” Nazca/Rainbow Dash yelled as she began to extend her wings. Retsu however stopped the hot headed Kaijin.
“Forget about him. These two are no threat separated anyhow,” Retsu said, which left Nazca miffed.
“However, this does leave us minus a prisoner. What to do about that,” Retsu said.
“I have an idea Retsu,” Chrysalis said. She then grabbed Twilight in a magical hold and levitated her in line with the Riders.
“How about we take little Twilight here as recompense,” Chrysalis said.
“That wasn't part of the deal you bug!” Gentaro said, earning him a swift punch in the gut from Gemini.
“I have altered the terms of our agreement. Pray I don't alter them further,” Chrysalis said in a smug tone.
“Give her back! Give Twilight back!” Spike yelled as he struggled against a magical hold from Princess Luna. Shining Armor likewise had to be restrained by Celestia. Celestia and Luna stared at Chrysalis and Retsu with pure malice.
“You shan't win Chrysalis,” Luna said.
“Keep believing that Princess, it might come true,” Chrysalis said as she began to walk away.
“Just one moment Chrysalis,” Celestia said. Chrysalis paused for a moment, looking back at Celestia. The look Celestia was giving the Changeling Queen would make lesser beings wet themselves in fear.
“I don't care what sort of power Foundation X has given you, I will stop you,” Celestia said as she began to advance on Chrysalis.
“How lovely Celestia, how about you-”
“I wasn't finished. See, I'm not just going to stop you. I'm going to obliterate your entire legacy. I will rain down upon you and yours with the fury of a billion white hot suns. I will turn your very soul into a molten puddle of waste. And then I will cast that puddle into pits so deep not even Death itself will be able to find you,” Celestia said as she now came snout to snout with Chrysalis.
“Big talk Celestia,” Chrysalis said, a small bead of sweat running down her face.
“I'm over a thousand years old and I have dominion over the bucking sun. I can afford to talk big. Can you Chrysalis?” Celestia said. Chrysalis' only response was a huff as she walked back to The Exodus.
Celestia and her group watched as The Exodus took off with the Riders and Twilight in tow.
Once the ship was far enough away and she was sure they couldn't see her, Celestia fell to the ground, tears streaming her face as she screamed in anger and grief.
“CHRYSALIS!!!!!!!!!!!”
Celestia, Luna, Spike, and Shining Armor all sat in the medical ward of the XVII, wallowing in their defeat and the loss of Twilight. Shining Armor's leg had been bandaged and he now laid in one of the cots, shame and tears upon his face.
Luna cradled Spike as he softly cried and clutched Twilight's helmet against his chest. She tried her best to comfort the young drake, but his tears would not stop.
Celestia was looking down at the floor, an angry and sad look upon her face.
After the silence had gone on for what felt like forever, Celestia finally spoke.
“Captain Armor,” Celestia said.
“Yes Princess?” he said.
Celestia suddenly stood up and slapped Shining Armor, who sat there and took the hit. Luna gasped, rarely seeing her sister assault somepony else. Celestia lowered her hoof and looked at Shining Armor with disapproval.
“Just what in Tartarus were you thinking using that spell!?” Celestia yelled. Shining Armor trembled in both anger and fear.
“I was thinking that I could end that witch once and for all,” Shining Armor said.
“I did not teach you one of Starswirl's Three Great Fairy Magics, some of the most closely guarded spells in the world, so you could enact your petty revenge!” Celestia yelled. Shining Armor slammed his hoof down on the table next to him.
“Petty revenge? PETTY REVENGE!? That evil witch used me like some cheap puppet, imprisoned my wife, attacked Canterlot not once but twice now, and worst of all, she made Twilight cry!!!! Nopony does that and lives!” Shining Armor yelled.
“And what if the other Elements had been caught in your spell!? Do you really think having her friends vaporized would have made her feel better!?”
“I was trying to protect my sister!”
“NO! You were trying to prove yourself better than the Riders, and just look at where that's gotten you,” Celestia said.
“At least I didn't stand idly by as my student and fellow monarch was taken hostage by a group of monsters!?”
“STOP IT!!!! BOTH OF YOU!!!!” Luna yelled in the Canterlot Voice. Both Celestia and Shining Armor quickly turned to look at Luna, who now had Spike cradled in a soundproof bubble to shield him from her voice.
“The both of you are acting like petulant foals! We realize that the loss of Young Sparkle and the Riders is difficult for everypony, but squabbling like this isn't going to help matters! Instead of fighting each other, we should be thinking of a way to get them back,” Luna said.
“I suppose that would be my cue,” a voice said. Everyone looked around to see where the voice was coming from. Finally, a bright light filled the room as Discord popped into existence.
“Discord!? What are you doing here? You're supposed to be protecting Ponyville,” Celestia said. Discord waved his paw dismissively.
“Oh those Ponyvillians can handle themselves just fine. Besides, I have somebody there should the need arise. Right now there appears to be a more pressing concern at hand given that you're now short one Princess and five Riders,” Discord said.
“How do you-”
“I'm a spirit of Chaos Celestia, I have eyes and ears everywhere,” he said. Celestia pondered this idea for a moment before she shook that disturbing thought out of her head.
“Regardless Discord, it's no use. Chrysalis and her Kaijin are too powerful. Even one of the most powerful spells in the world couldn't stop her. Without the Riders to help us, we're done for,” Celestia said in a rarely heard defeated tone.
“Now who said we were out of Riders?” Discord said. On cue, the Xtreme Memory flew into the room and floated next to Discord. It then let loose a green stream of data, which slowly formed into Phillip. Celestia, Luna, Spike, and Shining Armor sat up in shock.
“Was it really necessary for me to wait so long to appear Discord?” Phillip said, dusting himself off a bit. Discord face-palmed at Phillip's response.
“Don't you have any sense of dramatic flair boy?” Discord said.
“I always left that sort of thing to Shotaro,” Phillip said flatly.
“Phillip, you're back!” Celestia said as everyone but Shining Armor crowded around him.
“I must ask you to save the pleasantries for later Princess. Right now we need to work quickly if we're going to save Twilight and the others,” Phillip said. Everyone looked at him confused.
“How? We can't fight against her defenses without the other Riders,” Luna said. Phillip turned to Discord. They looked at each other for a moment before turning to the group and grinning like mad scientists.
“We have a plan,” Phillip and Discord said in unison.
“So that's the plan. Any questions?” Discord said. Celestia put a hoof to her face as she pondered the plan.
“Are you sure this plan will work? It seems risky,” Luna said. Discord looked at her and smiled.
“The best plans always are,” he said.
“However, if this is going to work we need everyone's cooperation. Are you all on board for this?” Phillip said. Celestia, Luna, Spike and Shining Armor pondered the plan. Despite how Discord tried to play it off, they were taking a big risk. If the plan worked, they could win this whole conflict. If it failed, they stood to lose everything.
Finally, Shining Armor spoke up.
“I'm in,” he said with a look of determination.
“Me too! We're gonna stomp those Foundation X jerks and their monsters,” Spike said.
“We are in as well. This time Chrysalis will fall,” Luna said. Discord turned to Celestia.
“Well Celestia, are you in or not?” he asked. After a few moments, Celestia nodded.
“I'm in. Not like there's much choice,” Celestia said. Discord smiled at this.
“Excellent! Well now that everypony's on board, let's get the ball rolling,” Discord said as he turned into a ball and started rolling away with Shining Armor and Luna in tow. Celestia walked over to Spike.
“You stay with Phillip at all costs. Do you understand Spike?” Celestia said to the baby dragon. Spike nodded.
“Yes Princess,” Spike said. Celestia scooped Spike up and gave him a hug.
“Be safe my little one,” Celestia said as she set Spike down, kissing him softly on the head before turning to Phillip.
“Good luck Phillip. I pray you succeed,” she said.
“Worry not Princess, we will,” Phillip said with a bow. Celestia walked up to him and gave him a hug as well. Softly, she whispered into Phillip's ear.
“Please keep Spike safe,” Celestia said.
“I will,” Phillip whispered back. Celestia broke the hug and stepped away from the two.
“Good luck,” she said as she teleported away. Phillip turned to Spike.
“Are you ready Spike?” Phillip said. Spike looked down nervously for a moment before steeling his nerves and nodding.
“Yes Phillip. Let's get these guys,” Spike said with determination. Phillip smiled at this. Phillip reached behind his back and pulled something out.
In his hands were his Cyclone Memory and a Lost Driver.
“Well then, let's get started,” Phillip said.
Author's Note
HAPPY ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY..............about three weeks late......I'm slow with these things, sorry.
Anyway, yeah, I've officially been writing this story for one year. It's been crazy fun writing this story with help from BronyRanger and FriendofBronies. It's really helped me gain a new love of Kamen Rider and Toku in general.
On that same note, your slow to update author has landed himself a pretty sweet gig recently. I recently was hired on as a reviewer/content creator for a Toku fan site called Gideon Blog, a related website to Herotaku. I'm gonna start posting reviews, editorials analyzing various aspects of Tokusatsu, and generally just writing to start discussion.
I would really appreciate it if you guys checked out the site and my first article......whenever it's written.
You may now proceed to complain about my slow update rate!!
At any rate, writing reviews should be easier since I don't have to worry about the various intricacies involved in writing a story.
All right, I'm done rambling and shamelessly promotion-whoring myself. Hope you all enjoy the new chapter, have a lovely day, and stay the beautiful people you are.
Also, MARRIAGE EQUALITY IN THE USA FINALLY!!!!!!! WOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
Okay, I'm done. This is BladeSpark, signing out

Chapter 9
Counterattack
Twilight Sparkle and the Kamen Riders lay strapped onto metal slabs aboard the Exodus. Chrysalis, Retsu, and the corrupted former Elements looked upon them with smug looks on their faces.
“Now this is quite a sight. A Princess of Equestria defeated, the Elements of Harmony under my control, and your little champions defeated,” Chrysalis said as she held Twilight's face in her hoof.
“Oh but I'm not satisfied with just that. Once my armies raze Canterlot, I'll set my sights for that pink bitch Cadence and her Crystal Empire,” Chrysalis said. This caused Twilight to struggle against her bonds. She tried to cast a spell but the magic inhibitor on her horn prevented her from doing so.
“Oh, what's the matter? Did you think I forgot about little Cadence? Oh no, I'll destroy her in good time. And once I've done that, I'll make this whole wretched world bow to me as their new queen,” Chrysalis said as she turned into her Kaijin form and gripped Twilight by the neck.
“Oh but that's not all. We have something special planned for you and the rest of your Princess friends,” Chrysalis said licking Twilight's face.
“Leave her alone you damn bug!” Kouta said as he and the other Riders struggled against their restraints. Chrysalis released Twilight and looked over the Riders.
“Ah yes, you lot. We have something special in mind for you,” Chrysalis said with an evil chuckle.
“And what would that be?” Haruto said.
“I'm so glad you asked Rider,” Retsu said as he started walking in between the different tables.
“I'll be rather blunt with you Riders, I've always found the Kaijin and you Riders fascinating,” Retsu said.
“Really now?” Shotaro said.
“Oh yes. Trying to figure out all of your technology and powers, the biology and science behind it all. It's a scientist's greatest dream,” Retsu said with an almost happy look on his face.
“You're insane,” Shotaro said.
“You'll find that all advancement takes a little bit of insanity. But enough of that, now to tell you what is to become of you lot,” Retsu said as he walked over to the corrupted Elements.
“Well we're all ears you bastard,” Shotaro said. Retsu chuckled at this.
“It's so funny to see how you Riders consider yourselves above people like myself and the Kaijin. If not for the Kaijin, you lot would not even have your powers, isn't that right?” Retsu said.
The Riders were silent. They all had come to the revelation at one point or another that it was because of the very evil they fought that they had gained their powers for good.
“When I learned of this, a thought occurred to me. What if I could find a way to make a Kaijin/Rider hybrid? Not something as mundane as the Riders created by Shocker, but something greater. A true blending of monster and hero,” Retsu said as he turned to the Riders.
“And you my friends will be the first in this new line of monster,” Retsu said as he began laughing maniacally.
The Riders struggled against their restraints, wanting nothing more than to punch Retsu.
“You're insane! You're worse than those bastards at Yggdrasil,” Kouta said.
“I've found that insanity merely helps one see things from a wider point of view,” Retsu said.
Chrysalis turned back into her normal formed and walked towards the door.
“Come now Retsu, Let's leave the Riders and little Twilight to stew in their misery for a while longer,” Chrysalis said in a smug tone.
“Agreed Chrysalis. Besides, I need to get the equipment ready for the experiment,” Retsu said as he, Chrysalis, and the corrupted Elements left the room.
Once they were gone, tears began streaming down Twilight's face as she whimpered.
“Don't cry Twilight, we'll get out of this,” Shotaro said trying to comfort the weeping alicorn.
“What's....what's the point? There's no way we can beat Chrysalis and her Kaijin. Besides, I can't bring myself to fight my....my...” Twilight said as the tears started coming down in a torrent.
Gentaro struggled against his restraints, shaking the table he was strapped to.
“Unforgivable! I'll beat those bastards into pulp. Nobody makes a girl cry while Kisaragi Gentaro's around!” Gentaro growled.
“Gentaro, calm down! There's no use wasting your anger struggling,” Eiji said. The nomad's words made Gentaro calm down somewhat, although he still struggled against his bonds.
“Everyone, I know we're in a tight spot right now, but have faith. I'm sure someone will come rescue us,” Eiji said. The Riders were silent for a few moments, letting Eiji's words sink in.
“Eiji is right,” Haruto said, craning his head to try and look at everyone.
“We can't give up hope now. If we give up hope, then they win. Besides, we still have our trump card,” Haruto said.
“That's right. Phillip's out there somewhere. And if I know him, he's coming up with a plan to bust us out,” Shotaro said.
Suddenly, alarms started to blare around the ship. Everyone looked around in confusion.
“What's that?” Kouta said.
“If I had to guess, probably Phillip's plan,” Shotaro said.
Chrysalis walked out onto the deck of the Exodus. Floating in the air in front of the ship was none other than Princess Celestia, sans any armor or her royal attire. Chrysalis smiled at the Solar Princess.
“Well well well, what brings the great and powerful Celestia to my humble ship,” Chrysalis said in a snarky tone.
“Oh nothing, just your surrender,” Celestia said. Chrysalis burst out laughing at this. After a few moments, she calmed down and looked Celestia in the eyes.
“Oh that's quite funny Celestia, but you should be the one surrendering. I've captured your Riders and little Twilight, made your Elements my slaves, and decimated your city. You haven't even brought your army with you. How do you expect t-” Chrysalis said before she was suddenly punched into the air. Before she could even respond, she was juggled even higher into the air before falling back down onto the deck of the ship.
Chrysalis spit out blood as she looked around.
“What in Tartarus was that!?” Chrysalis yelled. She looked to see that Celestia was still floating where she had been.
Chrysalis lunged at the Solar Princess. However, she passed right through her. Stunned, she looked back to see the image of Celestia disappearing.
“You still have so much to learn about me Chrysalis,” Celestia said appearing above the Changeling Queen.
“How!?” Chrysalis growled.
“How do you think I gained my position as Princess?” Celestia said as her eyes began to glow a bright white. Fire and energy surged around her, creating enough heat to start melting parts of the deck.
“I am the incarnate of the sun, bringer of life and light, but also bringer of fire and destruction. The only reason you defeated me the last two times we've fought was because I didn't want my ponies to get hurt,” Celestia said as her mane and tail became pure white flame. Celestia's transformation caused some of the Kaijin and changelings to cower in fear.
“But my ponies are not here right now. Now I can show you just how dangerous I truly am Queen of the Insects,” Celestia said, her voice booming and ethereal. A few of the Kaijin tried to rush Celestia, but they burst into flames as soon as they got close to her. Chrysalis turned into her Kaijin form and pointed her staff at Celestia.
“I told you I would show you the fury of a thousand suns,” Celestia said as Chrysalis charged her. Celestia charged Chrysalis as well, the two colliding in a burst of fire and dark energy.
Underneath the Exodus, the Xtreme Memory burst through a small grate and made it's way into the lower levels of the ship. When it was sure it was alone, the Xtreme Memory let loose a stream of data which formed into Phillip. Phillip looked around for a moment before pulling a piece of parchment with a large circle on it out of his pocket. He had the Xtreme Memory blast it with a bit of energy, lighting it on fire. He set the parchment on the ground as it burned with green fire. Once the parchment was fully burned away, the smoke began to form into a new shape. After a few moments, the smoke dissipated to reveal Spike. He shook himself a few times before looking up at Phillip.
“Well that was certainly a new experience,” Spike said dusting himself off.
“Indeed, but we'll have to focus on that later. Right now we need to find Twilight and the others,” Phillip said as he, Spike, and the Xtreme Memory headed towards a door. They slowly opened the door, making sure no Kaijin or Foundation members were around. When they were sure it was clear, they made their way down the hallway.
“Are you sure this is gonna work?” Spike said.
“Absolutely not. But, this is our only option so we'll have to make it work,” Phillip said. The ship rocked to the side, likely from an explosion.
“I imagine that would be Celestia,” Phillip said. Spike looked towards what he guessed was the front of the ship with a worried expression. Phillip placed a hand on the young drake's shoulder.
“I know you're worried about her Spike, but we must press on,” Phillip said. Spike hesitated for a moment before nodding. As the two crept through the hallways, they peered into the open doorways of the various rooms they passed. Many of the rooms were empty.
“Where is everybody?” Spike asked.
“If I had to guess, dealing with Celestia,” Phillip said.
The two then walked by a room filled with all manner of different scientific equipment. Phillip walked into this room and started examining the equipment. On a few of the screens he saw images of Gaia Memories, Core Medals, Astro Switches, Wizard Rings, and Lock Seeds. He also saw diagrams of human and equine anatomy.
“This must be where they study our powers,” Phillip said as he stopped to study the diagrams for the different Rider Item. Each one had a description of the abilities of each Item, the different Kaijin associated with them, and ways to manufacture a Kaijin.
“They've really done their research,” Phillip said as he looked over a diagram for the Core Medals.
“Phillip, look!” Spike said. Phillip looked over at Spike to see that he had found the Rider Belts. Phillip quickly went over and gathered the Double Driver, while Spike put the other Drivers and their Rider Items in a small bag he had on him.
“Good work Spike, now we just have to find Twilight and the others. Do you think you can track their scent?” Phillip said. Spike nodded and began to sniff the air.
“Yeah. It's a bit weak, but I can find them,” Spike said as he took in the other Rider's scents form the Drivers.
“Good, let's get going then,” Phillip said.
“Not gonna happen Rider scum,” a voice said. Spike and Phillip looked to see that two Foundation X members were standing in the doorway along with two Kaijin.
“Well, this is awkward,” Phillip said.
“Surrender Rider. We know that you can't beat us without your other half,” one of the members said.
“Spike, when I give the word you take the Drivers and run,” Phillip whispered.
“But what about you?” Spike asked.
“I'll be fine. You just focus on finding the others,” Phillip said as he reached behind his back.
“Surrender!” the other Foundation member said. Phillip responded by pulling out the Lost Driver and placing it on his waist. He then produced his Cyclone Memory.
“Surrender isn't really my style,” Phillip said as he activated his Memory.
Cyclone!
Phillip placed the Memory into his belt and placed his left hand in front of his face.
“Stop him!” one of the Foundation members yelled at the Kaijin.
“Henshin!” Phillip said as he pushed the right half of the belt over and activated his transformation. Wind suddenly engulfed the lab as Phillip's armor formed around him. When his transformation ceased, Phillip turned toward Spike. Phillip was now encased in green armor very much the same as the normal appearance of W. The scarf around Phillip's neck was now much longer.
“Spike, go!” Phillip said. Spike nodded as he quickly raced past the Foundation members and the Kaijin. They tried to stop him, but were met with a gust of wind from Phillip. He then proceeded to kick the Foundation members and the Kaijin.
“You didn't forget about me did you?” Phillip said as he knocked one of the Foundation members unconscious. He then turned to the two Kaijin.
“Now, count up your crimes,” Phillip said as he charged the Kaijin.
Spike ran as fast as his legs would take him. He had to duck into corridors occasionally as changelings and kaijin ran past. After a while, he managed to pick up on where Twilight's scent was the strongest. Unfortunately, that place was behind a heavy iron door with an electronic lock.
Spike saw this and his first instinct was to breath fire to try and melt the door. Unfortunately, the door didn't even look like it had gotten even a tiny bit warm. Spike kicked the door in frustration.
“This is not good. How am I supposed to break this door?” Spike said.
“Perhaps we could be of some help,” he suddenly heard someone say behind him. He whirled around and found himself face to face with the corrupted Elements and Retsu. Spike backed away in fear of the Foundation X member and his former friends. Spike stared at them defiantly despite his legs shaking.
“I-I'm not scared of you,” Spike said. Retsu smiled at this.
“Is that so?” he said as the Elements transformed into their Kaijin forms.
“Too bad,” he said.
Twilight and the Riders were shocked and startled when they saw the metal door break open and a figure fly through the air and hit a console, breaking it in the process.
“What the hell?” Shotaro said as they tried to see who had hit the console. Their eyes went wide when they saw that it was a now bleeding and groaning Spike. They also noticed the bag that held their Drivers had spilled over the floor.
“Spike!” Twilight yelled in agony, struggling against her restraints hard enough to draw blood.
Retsu and the corrupted Elements stepped through the door, Demushu/Applejack going over and picking up Spike's limp body by the throat.
“Such a pity when the weak try to stand against the strong,” Retsu said.
“Let him go! Let him go right now!” Twilight yelled as she continued to struggle against her restraints.
Retsu saw this and snapped his fingers again.
“One of you shut her up. He screaming is getting annoying,” Retsu said as Mezool/Fluttershy walked over to Twilight.
“I'll kill you! I'll turn you int- AGH!” she yelled as she was cut off by Mezool/Fluttershy's electric shocks. Spike saw this and struggled against Demushu/Applejack.
“Twilight...” Spike said weakly. Retsu looked Spike in the eye.
“You and your little resistance are starting to give me a headache,” Retsu said as he turned back to Twilight.
“Perhaps an example will serve to prevent any further rebellion. Greeed, kill her,” Retsu said as Mezool/Fluttershy put more voltage into her shocks, causing Twilight to convulse and scream.
“Twilight!” the Riders and Spike yelled as they watched their friend suffer. Twilight's screams steadily became weaker until finally they ceased completely, the purple alicorn going limp.
Mezool/Fluttershy stopped her shocks, looking at Twilight with pity.
“Such a shame, I was hoping to play with her a bit more,” she said with a mocking laugh. The Riders struggled against their restraints, staring daggers at Retsu. Spike had tears rolling down his agonized face.
“Twilight!!” Spike yelled in a distraught voice. Spike managed to wriggle free from Demushu/Applejack's grip and ran up to Twilight's limp form, trying desperately to shake her awake.
“Twilight, come on, wake up!” Spike said in a desperate voice. Twilight did not move. Spike backed away from her body, fear and despair present on his face.
“No...it can't be,” Spike said. Retsu laughed at Spike's pain, walking over to the grieving drake.
“I'm afraid it is little dragon. Your precious Twilight is no more. But don't worry, you'll see her again. Although, maybe not quite as you remember her,” Retsu said as he brushed his hand across Twilight's mane.
He quickly learned this was not a good idea when Spike leaped up and bit into Retsu's hand like a rabid dog. Retsu screamed as he managed to pry Spike off of his hand. He backed towards the kaijin, their weapons pointed at Spike.
“You insolent lizard! I'll have you skinned for that!” Retsu said as he tried to bandage his bleeding hand.
Spike stood up slowly, a small gash now on his head. He hung his head as he stood to his full height, a faint purple glow surrounding him. When he brought his head up, Spike's eyes looked very different. They had turned from their usual green into a blood red color. His irises were now distinctly reptilian, looking like two thin slits. There was also a dangerous, predatory, almost hungry look in his eyes.
Before anyone could say anything, Spike opened his mouth and let loose a deafening roar, the aura around him now almost blinding.
Spike soon began rapidly growing in size. His tail grew longer, the spines along it and the rest of Spike's body sharpening and growing into sword-like points. His claws grew longer and sharper, as did his fangs, which now glistened with saliva and blood. A pair of wings also began to emerge from his back, oozing and dripping as they extended to their full length. When he finally stopped growing, now standing a good eight feet tall, Spike looked like a creature of pure death and malice.
Retsu and the corrupted Elements looked at the new Spike warily, not daring to move for fear of what he might do.
They soon found out when Spike spread his wings and let out an ear shattering roar and a gout of flame. When he finally stopped, he turned his sights on Retsu, his nostrils spewing smoke.
“Spike...kill!” he screamed as he lunged at the scientist. The corrupted Elements stood in his way. Demushu/Applejack tried to hold Spike back with her immense strength, grappling with the now feral Spike before being lifted up and thrown against a console, which exploded.
This caused the restraints on the Riders and Twilight to come loose. Shotaro immediately went to check on Twilight while the rest went for their Drivers, putting them on.
HENSHIN!
The Riders minus Shotaro all transformed, their armor forming around them. When they were done, they readied their weapons.
Retsu saw this and cursed. Unfortunately, the Kaijin were still preoccupied with Spike.
Gemini created a twin of itself, which flew at Spike and latched onto him, quickly exploding. When the smoke cleared, Spike stood unfazed, spewing a gout of fire in rage at Gemini/Pinkie Pie.
“What is this...thing?” Gemini/Pinkie Pie asked.
“Whatever it is kill it already!” Nazca/Rainbow Dash said. Spike responded to that by extending his claws and lunging at the Kaijin, slashing it with his razor sharp claws before spinning around and slamming it to the ground with his massive tail.
“Spike kill! Spike kill you all!” he snarled as he lunged at Retsu, only to be ensnared by Rarity/Medusa and sent flying through the ceiling.
“After it!” Retsu said as the rest of the corrupted Elements went after the monstrous Spike while he fled.
“Hey, come back!” Gaim said as he began to chase after Retsu.
“Kouta, forget about him for right now. We have a bigger problem,” OOO said as the Riders looked over to Twilight, who was unconscious. Fourze had activated his Medical Switch and was trying his best to heal her. Twilight's fur and mane were singed from the electric shocks and she twitched occasionally.
“That bastard,” Shotaro swore as he held Twilight's hoof.
“What in the hell was that? Since when could that little dragon do all that?” Wizard asked.
“I don't know, but in any case we need to stop him. He could end up hurting himself, or Twilight's friends” OOO said as he knelt next to Twilight.
“How is she Gentarou?” Shotaro asked. Fourze hung his head.
“She's alive, but barely. The Medical Switch can only do so much. She needs a real doctor,” Fourze said, hanging his head like he had failed.
“Don't worry Gentarou, help is on the way,” the group heard a voice say. They turned to see Phillip standing in the doorway, looking a bit out of breath.
“Phillip!” Shotaro said as he ran to his partner, helping to support him. Shotaro couldn't help but smile at his partner.
“Let me guess, you've got a plan?” he said. Phillip nodded.
“Yes, but we need to stall Chrysalis and the Kaijin a little longer,” Phillip said.
The Riders looked towards Twilight, seeing her barely breathing with the help of the Medical Switch. The ship shook from the battle happening outside.
OOO was the one to finally speak up.
“Gentarou, you and Phillip stay with Twilight. We'll take care of the Kaijin,” OOO said. The other Riders nodded their agreement.
“What about Spike?” Wizard asked. OOO went silent for a few moments before finally speaking up.
“We'll do everything we can to keep him out of the fighting. But, if he becomes a danger we will have to fight him,” OOO said. The Riders went silent, none of them liking the prospect of fighting someone as young as Spike.
“It's the only way we can keep him safe,” OOO said.
“We know. Doesn't mean we have to like it,” Gaim said as he and the other Riders began making their way topside.
“Shotaro, take this,” Phillip said tossing him the Lost Driver. Shotaro caught the Driver and smiled.
“Thanks partner. You sure this plan of yours will work?” he said. Phillip nodded.
“No doubt,” Phillip said. Shotaro smiled at his partner.
“All right Phillip, I believe in you. Be safe,” Shotaro said as she strapped on his Driver and ran to catch up with the others. When he was gone, Phillip let out a sigh and looked down.
“Discord better hurry up. Or else we're all doomed,” Phillip thought as he and Fourze picked up Twilight and carried her out of the lab.
Meanwhile, in the Castle of the Two Pony Sisters
Shining Armor and Princess Luna stood at opposite ends of an intricate magical circle. Candles of black flame burned around the edges of the circle as Discord finished drawing a sigil in the center.
“You're sure this is going to work Discord?” Shining Armor asked. Discord ate the piece of chalk he was using and floated over to Shining Armor.
“Of course I'm sure Shiny. While it is true my knowledge of arcane magic is a tiny bit rusty and reworking a spell this powerful is tricky business, I am totally confident this will work,” Discord said with a toothy smile. Shining gave him a deadpan look in return.
“That is so reassuring,” Shining Armor said in a monotone voice. Luna stamped her hoof on the ground to quiet the two of them.
“Cease your talking. Time is short and we must work quickly,” Luna said. The Princess was wearing her full battle armor, ready for the coming battle.
“Quite right Princess. Let's begin,” Discord said.
Luna and Shining Armor's horns started to glow as they began chanting. In the center of the circle, Discord looked at the two, a rare look of nervousness upon his face.
Soon, a large black and blue portal opened up in front of him. He smiled at Luna and Shining Armor as he walked towards the portal.
“Wish me luck,” he said as he stepped into the portal.
“I'm sure gonna need it,” Discord thought as he became enveloped by the dark mass of the portal and disappeared from Shining Armor and Luna's view.
What do Discord and Phillip have planned for our heroes?
Will our heroes be able to protect Spike from himself?
Will they be able to stop Chrysalis and her evil plans?
Find out next time, on Battle for Equestria!!
