With all the happiness that was equestria from the majestic capital city of canterlot to the new settlement known as appaloosa, from the metropolis manehatten to the city of sisterly love that was fillydelphia, isolated small towns and of course the obscure small logging camps in the everfree forest nopony would ever think there could possibly be anything wrong least of all in the small yet beautiful ponyville and least of all on the new rail lines. In ponyville a certain wall-eyed Pegasus mare was heading to the train station on a special mission her name was ditzy doo. She was hoping he would be on time she only had a short break before she had to get back to deliveries stopping only for some apple juice for her youngest daughter dinky she then headed to the station. He pulled in driving an old F7 diesel on an equally old yet more elegant passenger train he climbed down from the engine a little unusual for a unicorn specially the king of the railway his name was rail rider. He looked similar to doctor whooves same shape but his mane was blood red and his tail surprisingly long for a stallion as long as ditzy's as a matter of fact his fur was also the same color as ditzy's. Such an unusual stallion made the mare shake her head to make sure her double vision wasn't playing tricks on her last time that happened she had almost destroyed town hall.

Rail looked at ditzy "I heard ya wanted to talk to me" he said with a slight southern draw ditzy was glad he asked "well you see rail my daughters dinky and sparkler have something of an interest in trains and I thought I mean we been friends for a while and" she was interrupted by rail "so your asking me to take them for a ride in my engine" ditzy nodded "hmm" the old railroader thought to himself "well Pinkamena is running low on Pegasus wings and im sure she'd want more cutie marks for her collection but I cant murder ditzy I just cant but Pinkamena drew their number and that poor filly and that beautiful young mare oh why did I listen to Pinkamena" rail sighed and said "well I guess I could take the girls meet my train at the station tomorrow morning you can come to if you want". Ditzy was excited "I'll be there rail I need a break from the mail stuff anyway". Rail smiled then hugged ditzy before climbing back into his engine and heading outta town. His train was now empty his final destination was the grimdark world where Pinkamena and butchershy along with his children waited for his return. Rail wondered about how he was going to be able to kill his only friend and her children one of them a small filly. He was crying when he pulled into grimdark ponyville wondering how he would be able to commit such a murder. The next day the doo family headed for the station not knowing what that were in for.

Dinky and sparkler were so excited ditzy couldn't keep them still it was all she could do to keep them off the tracks. As the train rounded the bend ditzy was surprised that it was not the passenger train expected but a pair of old dirty GP7s on a rust covered freight train. Rail looked at the girls and smiled as they climbed aboard (although dinky needed some help from her mother) ditzy then boarded the engine as rail spoke to the girls about trains. Rail released the brakes the hissing sound made sparkler a little uneasy but she quickly got over it rail then throttled up and with a jerk the train began to move. Dinky and sparkler were having the time of their lives neither noticed their mother knocked unconscious by rail being drug into the engine room. Dinky turned as the door closed she felt uneasy but figured rail was just showing her mother the engine room
