An Alternate Alternate Universe?

"This new world could be very dangerous, Princess Twilight. Are you absolutely certain you are prepared?" spoke Princess Celestia, her multicolored mane flowing in the nonexistent wind.

"I'm ready." confirmed newly crowned Princess Twilight Sparkle. She was wearing her crown, the Element of Magic. She levitated it off her head, and gave it to Celestia. She was told not to bring it, considering what happened last time, and if this mirror contained more than one world, then who knows what could happen there? She was also, once again, instructed not to bring her friends, or even Spike this time around. Twilight, of course, rejected this at first, but then she realized what harm could come to her faithful assistant, Spike, if she had brought him. She put her hoof in, uneasily. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes, then jumped in, allowing the vortex inside to consume her.

"Huh?" she opened one eye carefully, her vision blurry.

"Do you think she's alright?" said a voice, one she'd never heard before as she felt someone grab her..what was it? Did she have a hoof right now? She didn't care. She graciously accepted the...creature's...invitation to help her up as her vision became clearer. She looked at where her hooves were supposed to be, and found anything but. She had little stringy, fleshy things. What were they called? She'd seen these before. Ah...hands! With fingers! Lots of fingers. Wait. She's here as a... Human?! She began to panic. Without greeting the two...people... in front of her she examined her hands, while thinking, Maybe if I look hard enough they'll turn back into hooves! It didn't work. "Um, hi, are you alright?" asked a tall, butter yellow ma--female with sort of messy green hair, and light pink eyes. She wore a darker yellow skirt, with green stripes, and a dark green long sleeved shirt with a V neck. She had a small magnifying glass on the right bottom corner of her shirt. She looked concerned.

After finally realizing what she was asked, Twilight straightened up and nodded.

"Oh, yes, yes, I'm fine!" There was another girl next to her. She had dark grey skin, but not quite black, with lighter grey sweater, and a dark green skirt which had a small green flame embroidered on it, and boots with the same little symbol on the sides. She also had bright green hair, which was pulled into a ponytail, and dark green eyes. After the two girls in front of her heard her confirm that she was fine, they sighed in relief. Wait, if I'm here, then maybe my other human friends are here too! She smiled. "Excuse me, do you happen to know if anyone named Applejack, Fluttershy, Rarity, Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie go to school here?"

"Never heard of them. Why?" asked the darker-skinned girl. Twilight shook her head.

"No reaso--Wait, you haven't heard of them? What happened to them? They used to come here!" spoke Twilight, quickly, while beginning to circle around, her hands placed on the sides of her head. "Oh, no, no, no, no, no!"

"Sorry, but, there's no record of them ever coming here to Canterlot High. Or, not that I'm aware of, anyway."

"This is Canterlot High, so why aren't they here?"

"No idea..." If the other universe I went to was an alternate universe, does that make this an alternate alternate universe? An alternate alternate universe? That's not scientifically possible! Of course, none of this is probably scientifically possible! What will my pony knowledge do for me here? I mean, I might still have a lot to learn if this is an alternate alter-- Her thoughts were cut off by the yellow-skinned girl grabbing her arm. There was a loud noise...It sounded like a bell. "Get down!" she shouted, as teenagers began to pour out of rooms, almost running into the trio before they got on the floor.

"Over there!" pointed the dark-skinned girl. It was a storage closet. The three crawled into the closet, and became cramped. "By the way, I'm Maddy Glass, and she's Emerald Blaze." said the yellow-skinned girl, pointing at the other girl which was now identified as Emerald Blaze.

"Oh, nice to meet you. Too bad we had to be introduced to each other in a storage closet...I'm Twilight Sparkle." Maddy was scrunched up beside the far wall, and Twilight was next to her. Emerald was squished against the wall across from them, sharing her space with a bucket that had soapy water and a soggy mop in it. The mop was slanted against Emerald's forehead as she groaned. They began to sweat, the three of them cramped in an enclosed space.  They were lucky none of them were claustrophobic. Twilight straightened out her skirt, taking a look at what she was wearing. The exact same thing she was as when she went into the other universe. Well, at least there's one thing I'm at least slightly familiar with here. Wait, if we wear clothes here, and no clothes in Ponyville does that mean everypony's... She shoved the thought away as the footsteps slowed down and eventually stopped. Maddy opened the door to the storage room and poked her head out into the cool air of the hallways.

"All clear!" Maddy rolled out of the closet and sprawled out on the floor of the school. Emerald did as well, and Twilight eventually got out and flattened herself against the closet door, after she closed it. She slid down into a sitting position and closed her eyes, sighing.

"Do you have to do this everyday?"

"Yep."

Something tells me this is gonna be a long day.
