Chapter 1: The Forgotten Snow
The forgotten snow.
She was born cold as ice, the ponies that surrounded her thought for sure she was dead, but as she let out a crying scream, they knew that she was very much alive. Her horn glowed ever so slightly.
“Shes beautiful…” A dark blue mare whispered.
“Her eyes sparkle like gems..” A White Stallion said in awe.
“Let’s call her…Icegem.” The mare smiled.
12 Years Later
“Oh come on Icey!! You’re out of school already!” Windstorm laughed.
“Shut up, Stormie!” Icegem shouted at the gray mare, tears filling her bright blue eyes.
“You’re gonna be without your cutie mark for your whole life!” Her brother, Brightsnow, laughed at her.
Icegem ran into her room, her tears flooding her eyes and pouring down her cheeks like rivers. “Why don’t I have my cutie mark!!” She growled, stomping her hooves into the ground so hard the floor below her cracked.
“Oh no…I’m going to be in so much trouble..” She whispered trying to creep over the new crack, only for it to break under the weight of her body. She lout out a soft squeal as she plummeted into a dark tunnel under her bedroom.
She put her hooves to her face, in some sort of protection till she slammed into the cold soft ground with a grunt.
“W-where am i?..” She gasped, her horn lighting up and brightening the room.
The room glistened with bright white snow.
“Whoa…” She smiled brightly, running and jumping into it, “ I love this place…” She frowned, “To bad I have no friends to take to it…but I can make some!!”
Using her magic she rolled some snow into different shapes and piled them on top of one another, making a replica of Princess Celestia.
“Princess..” She bowed, “ Can you help me?..Well you see..I have no cutie mark…What do you mean no? but..I…” She began to tear up again, then growled. “Your just like them!!” She lunged at the snow Celestia, and destroyed her back into a pile of snow.
She opened her eyes wide, “A-am I losing my mind?..” She gasped, “Oh..I better get back home..” She ran into the hole in the way and ran back into her room as quickly as her hooves could carry her.
“Where is icey?” A Dark blue mare asked trotting up to windstorm.
“In her room.” She snickered.
“Why?” The mare sighed, when neither of them answered she knew. “you teased her again didn’t you!!” She yelled. “Go say sorry!!”
“But mom!!” Both ponies shouted.
“NOW!” She growled.
“Fine..” They said.
Both the ponies walked up to Icegems room, knocking their hooves on her door, “Icey!”
Icey heard them, “Oh no the floor…” She used her magic to lift some of the ice below, freezing it to the ground, and pulled a rug over it. “Come in!
They opened the door, “Icey we’re sorry…” They g rowled.
“No you’re not.” Icey snarled at them, “you guy’s do it on purpose. Get out and don’t come back in here again!” she lifted them with her magic and tossed them out.
“Jeeze…pushy…” Brightsnow glared ahead as they walked away.
Chapter 2: FrostBite
Icegem moved the ice block from the new hole in her floor and ran down to her new found cave. She played with the snow for hours, building different things. She practiced and Practiced, till finally, She learned how to make ice golems.
"Whoa..." She smiled, "This is so cool!" Her horn began to light up, doing the same to the golem. Only, it began to growl. She stared at it wide eyed.
The golem rose to it's feet and slowly walked towards her with glowing green eye's. She lowered herself and began to whimper, backing away from it. "P-Please don't h-hurt me..." She cried, but to her surprise it only whined and head butted her gently, she smiled. "You're nice..." She whispered.
"Master..." It spoke softly, watching her.
"A light flashed and metal necklace appeared around the golems neck, with a glowing snowflake on it. In the same instant a flash of light crossed over Icegems flank, and the same snowflake appeared on her. Only at each of its tips were blue orbs.
"I got my cutiemark!!" She gasped, when suddenly a dark smokey figure whirled around her and formed next to her.
"Icccee...Geemm...Your family mockss you...I can makkke you all poweeerfful..." It hissed.
"No. They won't mock me now." She grinned and trotted away, back to her room.
"Mom!!!" She squealed, running to her mother who was setting the dinner table.
"What sweet- You got your cutie mark!!" She smiled, looking at Icegems flank, who's talent was newly stamped there. "Is that?.."
"A snowflake?!" Windstorm laughed, walking into the room with Brightsnow. They both turned sideways flashing there cutie marks.
"Why would you have a snowflake cutie mark?! God your useless!" Brightsnow laughed with his sister.
"It never snows here!!!" They both shouted.
"Icegems eye's began to water, before she got her cutie mark they made fun of her for not having one..And now that she does, it still doesn't matter.
"Leave your sister be." A light gray stallion said, walking behind the two siblings. "Lightwater we need to put this to a end." He stated sternly.
"I know honey.." She sighed.
"Oh COME ON daddy! You know she was a accident!!" Windstorm yelled with amusement.
"Ya! snow never comes here! She is useless!" Brightsnow followed.
Icegem began to get angry, her pupils shrinking as she stared at Brightsnow, "That. Is. IT!" She yelled lunging at him.
The two ponies were quickly pulled away from each other by their mothers magic.
"Icegem!" She shouted, " Go to your room!!!"
Brightsnow watched Icegem walk away, sobbing soft and hard as she did so. Once he finished his dinner, he walked to Icegems room. "Icey?..You there?.." He whispered, pushing her door open. He noticed right away the hole in her floor, ice cold air was flowing slowly out of it. He noticed on the inside of it, was a flickering light that was getting dimmer. It was moving! As he slowly followed the light, he saw the shadow of his sister moving around as the air began to get to freezing temperatures. He lowered his body quietly to the ground and peaked around the corner.
"Aha...so they don't love me?! Is that it?! Aha, Dark shadow guy?! Where are you!?" She giggled.
With a big gust of wind, the dark shadow appeared once more. "Icccee...Gemmm...Why have you...caaallled me..." The voice hissed.
"You were right. They do mock me. I accept your offer."
"Leett me ..warrnn...you...it-"
"No!! NOW!" She screamed.
The dark shadow hissed and a cloud of dark magic began to wrap around her. She squealed and squirmed staring in sheer horror, as she was lifted off the ground, and was engulfed in darkness.
