"Libra!! WHERE ARE YOU!?" he screamed again, many of the ponies inside began to look up staring daggers into our main character pony. "Excuse me young stallion," said a pony sitting behind a table near the entrance. "Who are you?" "Oh I'm Terra Craft! You must be the ne-" "I am the new librarian," he said completely interrupting Terra. "So you're the pony she keeps talking about." The librarian pointed his hoof toward the end of the long aisles of bookshelves. "Ms. Libra is at the aisle fourth from the last. And judging from your behavior I know this is going to be hard for you, but keep quiet in here. This IS a library after all." Terra, attempting to gather together all the information thrown at him looked at the librarian and responded, "Thanks! Umm could I get your name if you don't mi--" "Yes I do mind, you don't need to know my name." the librarian interrupted once again while at the same using his magic to lift up a book over his face indicating that the conversation was over. Terra was dumbfounded, never before had he felt a combination of gratefulness, anxiousness, anger, and the feeling of being insulted at the same time. He went off to where Libra was supposed to be, Terra wanted to say something back, but out of fear of being interrupted for a third time, he decided against it. Going down the many bookshelves he remembered the fun stories he and Libra read together. The mystery aisle was a mystery to Terra, he didn't really understand the point of them since he and Libra could easily guess who the villain was within the first few chapters of the book. He usually stayed away from the non-fiction aisle claiming that those books ruined his imaginative drive. Fantasy books were his favorite, stories of knights and dragons, creatures that walked on two legs just made him go out and explore the world. "Here it is," Terra said stopping at the aisle where Libra was supposed to be, he glanced up at the section label. The label read Geography, "Heh, she would be here." Terra looked into the aisle and noticed a huge pile of books on the floor almost as tall as him. Terra however, knew exactly what this meant and started walking toward the pile. "You know Libra, some pony is going to have to clean all these books up and I don't think the janitor is going to be very excited about it," he said walking toward the pile. "I don't know who you are but I'm going to pick them up aft-" the mare stopped after she saw who was talking to her. "TERRA!" she ran toward her friend with much glee and gave him one of the biggest hugs he had ever received in his life. "It’s been so long since we last saw each other!" "Libra I know it's been long, but can you please let go? I don't like being constricted! You know this!" he responded gasping for air. "Sorry..." she let go of him and jumped back in her pile of books letting only her head stick out. Terra couldn't help but admire Libra's beauty, her light purple coat, her hazel eyes, the slightly unruly midnight blue mane, no matter much older she will ever get, he always loved every part of them and her. "Sooo what's the big news?" Libra asked snapping Terra out of his daydream. "What? How'd you know I had something important to tell you?" "Well you have a big dumb grin on your face, either you've got something really important to say or you're just happy to see me. "A bit of both, I'd rather we go to a table and chat, I'm pretty people are going to think I'm insane for talking to a pile of books." Libra smirked a bit trying to hold in her giggling knowing the fact that they were in a Library. She used her magic to make a doorway in her book pile and walked out motioning Terra to follow her. Libra led Terra into an area a tad further into the library where there were four square tables with chairs on each side. The area was free of any other pony; here they could talk in private. "So what'd you want to talk about?" Libra asked motioning Terra to sit down. "Well, you know how when we were little we always wanted to go adventuring and out to see the world?" "Yeaahh..." Libra replied with a look of unsureity "Well after I finished my apprenticeship at the woodsmith's, I went out and I-" "Dear Celestia you joined the Royal Army didn't you!?" "Wha... Wait no-" "I mean I know you want to go off and see the world but this is not the way you should do it!" "Libra I'm trying to tell yo-" "What if you were to get hurt? I wouldn't be able to deal with the fact that I could have stopped you and-" "LIBRA!!" Terra had to stand up and put his hooves on Libra to calm her down. "I'm not joining the army!" "Then what did you do!?" "Well if you'd sit back down and relax, I can explain and maybe the people staring will stop. Libra blushed when she saw the ponies near the entrance looking toward where they were. The librarian in particular was looking more irritated than usual. Perhaps yelling in a library isn't exactly the best way to go unnoticed. Libra returned to her seat and stared at Terra with anxious eyes awaiting his important news. "So like I was saying. As little kids we always wanted an adventure! Well that thought never died inside of me, and to fulfill our dream I bought a ship and I'm planning to see the world with it!" Libra simply stared at her now looking more and more insane friend. She was at a loss for words at how to respond to this. "So what are you going to be with this ship? A Pirate?" Libra said with an uneasy smile still hoping that this is all a joke. "Actually. Yes!" Terra quickly replied. "I was kidding..." "Well you'd better get used to the idea of it, because I want you to come with me." "Why!? I don't want to die!" The ponies in the library began to stare at the two again and frankly Libra didn't care if they did. Maybe one of them could help talk some sense into Terra. "You honestly think I'm going to go out with you around the world plundering and killing other people on the sea?" "I don't need you in that way! I need you because you're good in geography, heck you're the only pony that payed attention to that stuff while we were school." Terra glanced his eyes toward Libra's cutie mark of a constellation, "And you even said yourself that you liked learned about the world more than the stars!" "So!?" "So!? You're telling me you'd rather stay here and read about what's out there instead of going with me and seeing it for yourself?" Terra stood up on his hind legs, "Do you want to know why there are so many sailor ponies from this town? Because our town of Trotelham is so BORING, so unappealing that ponies from here have to leave to feel like they've done something with their lives!" Libra sat in awe, from how passionate his speech was and by how much thought Terra had really put into it. He continued, "I don't want to see the unicorns at town hall change the day to night and do the weather! I want to meet and see pegasi do it!" Terra was beginning to tear up, Libra wasn't doing much better. "And, I don't want to do this alone. I need you Libra. Please join my crew." He stuck out his hoof to Libra. "What do ya say?" Silence was stricken throughout the entire building. Terra was about to sit back down after his monologue until one pony from the audience began to stomp her hooves on the ground, then a few more joined. The pattern continued until everypony dropped whatever they were doing and began cheering for Terra who was now smiling his head off and still awaiting Libra's answer. "Yes. Yes I'll go!" The audience cheered! "YEAAHHH!!" the library became louder than one of Pinkie Pie's New Years Eve parties (but this isn't in ponyville so they don't know that! O_O) Books flew left and right from the celebrating ponies. Libra grabbed a few books and atlases and began to run off with Terra to the front door. She stopped at the librarian's desk to say her good-byes until he stopped her and motioned toward the door saying, "GO! Go fulfill your dreams! And don't come back until you have!!" "Thank you!" Libra replied as she and Terra ran out the door. The librarian now had tears coming from his eyes. "It was so beautiful!" Terra dragged Libra off at high speeds, the library they were once talking in soon became a distant building in the distance the faster he went. Libra, who was now starting to get used to the idea of being a pirate, noticed something weird. “Wait Terra! This isn’t the way to the harbor!” “Well duh, we don’t exactly have a crew to sail off with,” he responded with a “you don’t say” look in his eyes. “And where do you expect to get a crew?” Terra stopped in his tracks with a faint smile on his face. “Where all the great pirates get their crews, either at the streets, or at a bar! And where do you think we are now?” Libra looked at with a worried look to where they were now and when she saw the name, she knew this would not end well at all. Author's Note: And on the third day, the author commanded, "MAKETH ME A COVER IMAGE WORTHY OF ME". And the readers did, hopefully.
