An unnamed fortress, well to the north of Equestria, is forced to endure bitter wintry conditions year round, with summer being a few short weeks where the threat of snow is lessened, but still present. The threat from snow, though, falls to the wayside as the bastion comes under unknown attack. The gryphon commander, along with her unusual mate, are forced to contend with this new threat, and keep themselves alive until supplies can make it there, and a message can be sent back to Canterlot.
