Ms. Pommel
Hello, Ms. Pommel. I have received your letter, and I must say: you apologize way too often. It was a pleasure to meet you in Rarity’s boutique and that red evening gown is a beautiful piece of work, and it served it’s purpose so well too! Everypony had questioned who made it, many agreed it was too good to be made by Rarity’s hooves. Though I had disagreed with them and now you’ve proven me wrong. You’re quite the tailor, Ms. Pommel. I am honored that you had taken the time to write me, I must say it was quite a sudden and unexpected little letter, sandwiched between bills and ads. It was a pleasant surprise.
To answer your first question, no, I don’t have a special somepony. I’ve always been too busy with my clients and patients to bother with a romance. Simply because I never had the time to search for one. Oh, and I do remember what you look like and how you sound, and for some reason, as I looked at the closed letter, my heart skipped a beat, it was quite a surprise to me too.
As I first started reading your letter I was a little confused as to your desire to write a pony such as me, generally, I’d only receive random letters from family members or lawyers, requesting assistance in some fashion or another. Luckily this wasn’t the case or else I’d have tossed the letter aside and ignored the request. I don’t much care for being asked to make a trip across Equestria to help some sniveling foal with a sore throat.
I must say, I thought you were quite adorable when we first met, even if we only exchanged business words… I’m just glad you’ve decided to mail me. Unfortunate for us, our work situations require our attentions and I don’t think we’ll be able to meet anytime soon. I’d like to see where this relationship could possibly go, but for now, we’ll have to stick to letters. Is that okay?
Oh! Almost forgot, Ms. Pommel, you may call me Joy. Joy Redheart. Not many ponies know my first name, except close friends and family. So I hope I can trust you to keep your lips sealed on some topics. I’ve only ever let one pony know that I prefer mares. I really hope I can trust you with this… The only reason I’ve said so much, even considering this is only my first letter, is because I… My Hearts and Hooves day wasn’t bad, but it really made me realize how lonely I am. So I want to give you a chance, to see if we are capable of making something work. I want to feel loved… even if we can’t meet yet. The letters will give us a chance to get to know each other more personally. We can talk and no one will know.
So can I trust you, Ms. Pommel? Like I trusted you to make me a beautiful dress. Because if so, I’d be happy.
Your new friend,
~Joy Redheart
