Chapters Spike and Nyx Around Equestria
Proluge: what happened before
Spike was on Twilights back on the way back to the it had only been a few weeks after Tireks defeat and twilight being the princess of friendship she had a lot more to handle than just smiling and waving. Spike and Twilight it was late at night and had just came back from one of Pinkies "magnificent" parties and Spike coming back from a tummy ache from eating to much cake.
"Uggghhhh... why do stomach aches hurt so much?" Spike moaned.
Twilight giggled "I told you to not to take the challenge by the cutie mark crusaders Spike".
"I know but come on the challenge was too good to pass up I mean Nyx and the rest of the CMC promised me ten ruby's Twilight! That's way to good to pass up!" He exclaimed explaining in defense
Twilight just laughed. Spike had taken a challenge from the CMC that caused him a night of a stomach ache. They continued to walk towards the with spike moaning on the way back to the castle. as they were on the way they passed by the ,now in construction, Golden Oaks Library it was the previous home to the princess but now it was now recovering from ashes from Tirek and Twilights battle. Although her new castle was nice the, but the tree house had so many memories with Twilight and her friends. But even if it was destroyed she had to move on heck there might even be some amazing adventures there in the castle she just hopes that somepony's can move on.

"Hey Twi headn back to da castle?" Applejack said from behind she had just passed by "I was headn on over back to da farm with the CMC over at Scootaloos I got a bunch of chores with Big Mac to cover.".
"Yes i was planning to do a little research on the rainbow power" She said she was curious how powerful the powers actually were. Sure it defeated Tirek but whose to say that's its actual limit?
"Alright den surgarcube take care!" with that she headed back to her farm leaving Twilight with a sleeping and moaning baby dragon.
Twilight headed to the castle and tucked spike in his miniature bed in Nyx's room. Once he was tucked in Twilight went to a room down near the basement she had filled it with technology with analyzing magic. She was there studying her rainbow power for most of the night
'What is the potential of this rainbow power?' Twilight thought whenever there was a question that she wanted to know it but didn't get it bugged her to no end. But she put aside the growing suspicion for one night of sleep.
As she was about to go into her room she heard a familiar magical burp. She went to Spike and Nyx's room for investigating the reason for why Princess Celestia would write to her this early. She went to Spike and Nyx's bedroom when she entered the bedroom she immediately saw magic residue and baking mishaps.
Twilight mumbled in annoyance this wasn't the first time Nyx and the CMC made a mess in this room sometimes during visits for the CMC they would try earning their cutie marks and make a huge mess. Twilight looked over at Spike in his bed and the letter that was on top of his face.
Twilight gently levitated the piece of paper over to her and retrieved it and gently closed the door. Twilight then opened the letter whatever Celestia sent her it must have been important. She stood shocked after reading the letter she went to her room and got her saddlebags and stuffed them with materials. She then left a note and a crystal on the kitchen table. She whent out the door and then went to go look for her friends while in the middle of ponyville the note she got from Princess Celestia dropped out of her saddle bags.
"Dear Twilight,
I need your presence at the castle Twilight immediately Discord has sensed a magical imbalance from the Tree of Harmony. I Know it is late at night but if you don't come now Equestria will be in great danger! I await you and your friends appearance"

We now are outside in the outskirts of Ponyville and with all of the mane six here at the time.
"Now your sure the Princess needs us now?" Rarity looking like a mess along with the rest of the mane six they had just been woken up in the middle of the night and they were all tired.
"I'm certain and we need to hurry and girls I'm sorry for waking you this early but we need to get there now!" Twilight exclaimed to them
"All right then what are we waiting for a green light?" Rainbow Dash said with a sarcastic voice she was tired to but she wanted to help equestria again since the last few days ,to her, were kind of boring.
"Oooh ooh were playing red light green light ok green li-" Pinkie Pie stopped she looked at her friends they all had a look of surprise, confusion, and annoyed looks at surprise from Pinkes' energy at this late hour
"Oops I guess were not playing that here but still we should go I mean if the story's gonna progress then we better hurry to the castle!' She exclaimed as she bounced to Twilight who was preparing to do a teleport spell to the castle 'Well go on Twi what are you waiting for?' She said in enthusiasm
"Pinkie you are sssssooooo random sometimes" Rainbow said. Twilight and the rest just rolled there eyes and with a magical poof they were gone and they were at canterlot know I cant tell you what happens ,that would be spoilers but there will be a story to tell of what happened but that is for another tale to tell.

Chapter 1: The Next Day/Nyx side
It was a peaceful and lovely day in Ponyville the next day the birds were singing and the sun was shining. All the clichés you could put in a perfect day were here and they were all there in everyponys mind as they woke up to both the blinding glimmer of the sun and the castle nearly blinding a pony if they look directly at the marvel of light from the two sources. But as everypony was getting up and heading to there jobs/normal days a certain black filly alicorn was heading towards to one of the sources. 'I wonder if Spike is still asleep or not.' she said in her thoughts. Nyx was heading towards a popular bakery in the town of Ponyville Sugarcube Corner. Nyx got a little nervous the reason being that if Pound or Pumpkin saw her eyes then it wouldn't be a good sight to see. She entered Sugarcube Corner looked around.... confused. the question stuck in her head was were is Pinkie Pie?
"Oh hello dear came to pick up your mothers usual order I see" Mrs. Cake said as she came back from behind the back room and was putting some cupcakes inside the glass counter.
"Yes Mrs. Cake but were is Pinkie Pie?" Nyx asked with curiosity the filly knew Pinkie well enough to know Pinkie would be up and hyperactive than ever in the mornings she was also relived that Pound and Pumpkin were no were to be found.
"Yes well i got a note from her room saying she'd be going on another adventure with her friends and you're mother." Mrs. Cakes' voice echoed as she moved into the back room to find the order. "She left a note about that up in her room when i went to check on her here see for your self." Mrs. Cake came back with a note saying:
Dear Mr. and Mrs. Cake's
"I'm going on another adventure YAY WOOOH YEAH"
Signed. Pinkie Pie.
Nyx just giggled at the note. 'typical Pinkie is Pinkie Pie' She thought.
After that she Picked up the order in the box and gave Mrs. Cake the bits they said there goodbyes and Nyx left Sugarcube Corner. As Nyx walked back to the castle she ran into two fillies she had a bad history with..
"Oh look its Nightmare Moon the villain." Diamond Tiara said with a huff. Nyx just wanted to go home but every time she tries to get something for her mother or goes with the CMC or even goes out for that matter.....
"Have you been spying on me?!" Nyx said realizing of what they could be doing and how they could arrive here doesn't seem like a coincidence.
Diamond Tiara looked at Silver Spoon they looked nervous "Like we so don't know what you're talkin about." Diamond said obviously lying under her tounge.
'Well I don't have anything to prove about that any way' Nyx thought. "Well why are you here anyway?"
"Oh no reason just to say hi to in the most cruelest pony around!" Silver Spoon said with a snarl.
"Ok, hello and goodbye Diamond and Silver" Nyx said and started to walk away she was annoyed and didn't want to stick around to what they were going to say.
"HEY! were not done with you little freak of nature" Diamond screamed at her ,but continued moving she continued to scream at Nyx but she just kept moving. eventually she made it to the castle ground and was about to enter until..
"Tch fine i don't want to see you anyway oh and by the way your 'mother' left you for dead!" Nyx stopped dead in her tracks then faced Diamond Tiara from the castle door.
"Why do you say that?" Nyx said in a calm but furious tone. "She would never leave me ever."
"Oh its just that your 'mother'," Silver pretended to gag at that, " and her friends left in the middle of the night and they haven't returned since."
"So that doesn't prove anything." Nyx stared at them and wondered how they knew they left in the middle of the night with everypony asleep as a mouse or dragon in spikes case.
"Just sayin that something might have happened to her and her friends or they could've left you." Nyx just rolled her eyes and began to close the castle.
"Hey just leave her alone already you've been screaming at her all day i don't see a reason to rip out your annoying vocal chords" said a voice behind the two snotty bullies it was Pipsqueak "Besides you've been seen by everypony in town yelling at her you think you still want to do that at her doorstep?" Silver Spoon looked at Diamond Tiara she did the same,
"Well i think we should go like we so don't have time to deal with a blank flank and a FREAK!" and with that they headed off.with a huff.
Nyx turned to Pip "Thanks a lot Pip they have been chasing me all day."
"Eh no problem after all we are fellow cutie mark crusaders and we all know how much of a pain in the flank Diamond and Silver is." Nyx nodded ever since her incident with the entirety of equestria she has to deal with them everyday
"Well thanks and see ya later." Nyx said as she entered the castle. She entered and yelled across the hall "I'M HOOOOMMMMEEE!"
"So i see, how was your sleepover Nyx?" Spike said out of the corner of the kitchen with Jewel covered face he obviously ate one of the jewels from the counter,
"It was good. umm.. did you hear what happened outside?" Nyx asked a little embarrassed about what happened.
"Yea, but still you did the right thing of trying to walk away from something so stupid as that or at least that's what Twilight would say." Spike said
"Yea I guess you're right I'm gonna go up to my room and work on my magic, need any help with chores and stuff?" She asked the castle was a lot bigger than the tree house.
"Nah I'm fine, but keep a eye out for she Twilight she is on another adventure and should be back later today then we can find out what happened in her latest adventure." Nyx nodded as she headed to the upper floors of the castle. As she was heading up she heard Spike mumble something but disregarded it and headed up.
"Oh by the way here are those muffins you wanted" Nyx said handing Spike a muffin.
"Whoo"
Nyx looked up at the owl she had been reading a book on alicorn magic so she could improve her own. Owlicious flew over to a clock on her desk and tapped the glass Nyx was a little confused at first until she looked at the time. On the clock it read midnight on the dot. Nyx got confused for two reasons the first was how she didn't notice the time and the second was..
"Nyx, you still up?" A voice came from the door It was Spike "I was wondering if you have seen Twilight."
Nyx came closer to the door "No i've been practicing my magic, i'm guessing you have'nt either have you."
Spike spoke in a worried tone "No and I'm getting worried about her" Nyx opened her door and faced Spike
"I've been wondering about her too think we should go to Princess Celestia about this?" Spike paused at this. He stood there thinking about that for a moment.
"Yes just in case something did happen to them." Nyx nodded.
"Ok just stay there and I'm gonna prepare a teleport spe-" suddenly a flash from Spike blinded the two and they were teleported. When Nyx opened her eyes' she checked if her body was there. She sighed in relief it was all there, but looked for Spike.
"Uh.. Nyx were ar-" Spike stopped mid sentence and froze as did Nyx as they both realized were they were. they were in the throne room of princess celestia
'But I only started the spell! What teleported us before that?' Nyx tried to remember what happened she looked back. Then looked at spike.
"Spike were did you get the crystal you ate earlier today?" She asked this in worried tone.
Spike looked at Nyx in a confused way "It was with the note Twilight left. Why does it matter?"
"It matters because it was a teleport crystal" a voice that made the two jump in fear, but not too much as they knew who was there and who the voice belonged to.
The doors opened and a tall regal figure walked in. It was Princess Luna, the two began to bow but Luna waved it off.
"I presume the crystal teleported you here and you activated it Nyx?" She spoke
"Teleport crystal?! I thought it was a normal gem!" Spike said in his surprise "Can't believe I ate too"
Luna chuckled a little bit "Allow me to explain Spike you ate that teleport crystal and when Nyx got near you to do some spell it reacted towards Nyx's magic"
'So mom wanted us here... but why?' Nyx thought but then remembered the adventure from Pinkies' note and them leaving in the middle of the night like Diamond and Silver said.
"Did Twilight send us here to keep us safe Princess Luna?" Spike blurted out loud.
"Yes, Yes she wanted to keep you both safe from the new threat that has arisen to Equestria." Luna said "How about i tell you this tomorrow while you two get some rest it will help for what I'm going to tell you tomorrow."
Nyx and Spike nodded they were both tired and didn't really want to talk that and most of there energy was sapped by that teleport crystal so they nodded and started to head towards the guest bedrooms. Nyx yawned she laid her head down and was now drifting to sleep.... or so she thought. Nyx opened her eyes and saw herself next to Princess Celestia and right in front of her was a tombstone reading
"Hear lies Princess Twilight Sparkle. age 22 and died for Equestria in trying to stop the tree of harmony from dying a second time, R.I.P."
Nyx couldn't believe her eyes of what she was seeing... her mothers own tombstone and her dying without her knowing. Nyx was on the verge of tears until she heard a voice beside her.
"Oh my little pony.. I'm so sorry I've let you down again.." Celestia said in a sad tone.
"M-Mom? N-No please no...NOOOOOOOO!"
"Nyx! NYX!" a voice said "NYX!" she pulled her head from the bed found Spike beside her waking her up. She was panting with sweat coming down her forehead.
"Hey you okay Nyx? You seem to be having some sort of dream." Spike said in concern.
"Yea I'm fine.. let's go back to sleep okay?" Spike nodded his head and was almost instantly back to sleep. Nyx only sighed it happened again she entered another dream not hers', but whose was it? Nyx shook her head and forgot about it she would figure out tomorrow and even if she knew they defanatly had the same fears as Nyx.

Chapter 1:The Next Day/Spike side

Spike almost turned the entire place upside down before putting everything back 'Were is Twilight? Shouldn't she be here?'
"Whoo, Whoo" Spike looked up and found Owlicious he was wanting him to follow him.
"Do you know were Twilight is Owlicious?" Owlicious flew away "Hey wait up!" they went downstairs to the kitchen and on the kitchen table was a note and a gem. The note read:
Dear Spike and Nyx,
"I am out of town you could say and I have to do something for the princess I will be back later today and please don't go looking for me I promise I will be back

'So Twilight is on another adventure huh?' Spike thought in his head grinning 'Wonder what the princess needs now?'
Spike threw that thought out the window for know and right know he needed to get to working on the chores he usually does this morning there were three at the moment. there was Dusting, Laundry, and Organizing the new library in the castle.
"Hey Owlicious can you help me with my chores please?" Spike asked.
"Whoo" Owlicious said as he got a feather duster to help Spike. He smiled at this
"Thanks Owlicious you're the best.. oh by the way do you still forgive me for what I did to you a while back?" Owlicious nodded Spike smiled but was soon hit by a feather duster.
'Yea should've seen that one coming' He thought then proceeded to do the chores.
"Okay that's done and that is know we just need to re-organize the shelves. Owlicious can you please get me the card catalogs?" Spike said. Owlicious flew over to the counter with the card catalogs and swooped down and got them.
"Good now we need to place them in the right order so.... that one goes there and that one goes there no.... there beside that one..." Owlicious just rolled her eyes and started to help Spike put the books away. It was a while before they got done but eventually they did finish the chore.
"Whew I'm beat I'm gonna get a jewel. Tell me if you need anything Owlicious." Spike said as he headed towards the kitchen. Spike looked around the kitchen but soon realized that they were out of gems.
'Rats well maybe I can get some from Rarity when she get- wait a minute Spike noticed something under the note Twilight left there was a strange looking gem under the note. Spike walk toward the note.
'Guess Twi left me a gem... well I guess its time to chow down' Spike thought in his head. It was only a small gem so it was a nice snack to calm the dragons stomach. Spike was about to eat it when he heard a distinct noise from outside the castle.. and it sounded like Nyx was with someone. Spike continued to chomp down in the gem and went down towards the kitchen wall and pushed his ear against it to hear what was goin on from the inside.
"Tch fine I don't want to see you anyway oh and by the way your 'mother' left you for dead!" Spike heard on the other side. It was Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon again. Those bullies have been a pain in the backside of Nyx for a while and now there saying Twilight abandoned her the brats!
'She must have been trying to get away from them all morning' Spike thought this conversation kept on going though.
"Why do you say that?" Nyx said in a calm but furious tone. "She would never leave me ever."
Spike smiled at this. During the time in the past year she has nothing but grown as filly. Sure she still had a bit of a anger problem but with the help of Twilight and the Princesses even most of her magic has returned and she is the same but more understanding with ponies. Spike continued to listen on the conversation.
"Just saying that something might have happened to her and her friends or they could've left you." Spike started to growl at this but stopped himself as he heard both the castle doors and a new voice.
"Hey just leave her alone already you've been screaming at her all day I don't see a reason to rip out your annoying vocal chords" Spike recognized the new voice it was Pipsqueak and he was defending Nyx! He kept listening "Besides you've been seen by everypony in town yelling at her you think you still want to do that at her doorstep?" He began to laugh at that
'Finally someone getting back at Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon' The conversation concluded.
"Well I think we should go like we so don't have time to deal with a blank flank and a FREAK!" With that Diamond and Silver's voice began to fade away. Spike stopped listening after that and began to eat the gem. once he was finished he went to the front gates to meet Nyx
"I'M HOOOOMMMMEEE!" she shouted
"So I see, how was your sleepover Nyx?" Spike said out of the corner of the kitchen he didn't realize he had a jewel covered face to Nyx.
"It was good. umm.. did you hear what happened outside?" Obviously embarrassed by the whole charade outside.
Yea, but still you did the right thing of trying to walk away from something so stupid as that or at least that's what Twilight would say." He said knowing Twilight that is what she probably would say.
"Yea I guess you're right I'm gonna go up to my room and work on my magic, need any help with chores and stuff?" She said as she was walking up the stairs.
Nah I'm fine, but keep a eye out for she Twilight she is on another adventure and should be back later today then we can find out what happened in her latest adventure." She nodded and headed upstairs "I just hope she actually IS ok...." Spike said to himself Though he heard Nyx coming back downstairs.

'Where am I?' He was in a graveyard and he looked around and froze as he saw one certain tombstone with Princess Celestia.

Spike couldn't believe her eyes. All the years with Twilight flew past his mind and it broke his heart to see this. But heard something that threw him off.
"M-Mom? N-No please no...NOOOOOOOO!" He woke up seeing Nyx flailing in her bed and rushed to her.
"Nyx! NYX! NYX!" She woke up startled, sweating, and panting and was looking around everywhere seeing where she was and confirming It.
"Hey you okay Nyx? You seem to be having some sort of dream." Nyx held her head with her hoof
"Yea I'm fine.. let's go back to sleep okay?" Spike nodded and headed back to his bead. 'She must have gotten into my dream... That must have scared her to death' Spike thought. And went to sleep they both had the same fears. But unknown to the two the guardian of the night was watching this happened.
"Oh my little ponies if you knew...." Luna went to her room and went to her desk and laid her head on her hooves in aggravation.
"Why mane six.... why did you leave us?"
Spike and Nyx Around Equestria
Nyx woke up to the sunlight in her pupils. she yawned, rubbed her eyes, and looked around the room to confirm were she was while she was asleep...CanterlotMu guest bedrooms. She looked at the bed across from her and laying on it was a sleeping snoring baby dragon. Nyx just rolled her eyes as she went toward the bathroom and began combing her mane and tail, brushing her teeth and taking a morning shower. once she was done she went back into the room seeing if Spike woke up or beginning to wake up. Sure enough the sleepy dragon shifted and slowly began to wake while continually rubbing his eyes and mumbling to himself.
"Hey sleepy head you awake?" Nyx said to Spike as she was waking back in drying her mane from a towel from the bathroom.
"I *yawn* am awake and so and such." Spike spoke out still rubbing his eyes and yawning.
Nyx rolled her eyes as she looked around the room for anything particular. She didn't find much really, but she find a note from Celestia.
"Guards will be here in the morning to escort you to the throne room please wait Patiently Nyx and Spike."
From, Celestia.
'Huh I guess we just wait until the guards sh-' just then there was a knock on the door.
"Excuse me miss Nyx and mister Spike? the voice came from the other side of the room and soon opened the door and they were the royal guards mentioned in the letters.
"We would like you to come with us to the throne room please." Spike and Nyx went up toward the guards and they nodded and all went out of the door and went towards the throne room.
As they were going to the throne room the guards stopped dead in there tracks in front of someone but the guards were in the way of them seeing who it was.
"Hello guards may you please step away." a royal like voice spoke. the guards moved aside to reveal prince blueblood and a couple of other royals behind him.
"Now if we can only get that retched thing destroyed..." one of the royals said.
Nyx knew what that meant and she thought only one thing in her head
'RUN!' She literally took off like lightning as well did Spike did the royals chased after them through the halls of the castle. They took shortcuts exits they could find, But eventually they got caught on one room with a fireplace, a star banner, and a purple looking mattress.
"What are we going do? were cornered to a room with no exits!" Spike said in worry. Nyx was trying to think of something but to no and the banging on the door to the room didn't help. Just when they thought the door would give there was a yell Nyx had heard before.
"ENOUGH!" Luna's voice boomed on the other side of the door and the banging stopped. "What on Equestria name are you doing?!" stirs of voices were outside the door. Nyx and Spike looked at each other with relived face's.
"W-Well We were just....well..." Blueblood voice stammered and he was trying to find the words to explain to the Princess.
Nyx and Spike went towards the door "They were Trying to get and kill Nyx!" Spike said.
Luna on the other side looked at them furiously "You were trying to kill a innocent filly just because of her past that she had already paid her crimes of?!" Luna was trying her best not to lash out.... immediately.
"She hardly got any punishment for what happened to the entirety of equestria and to everypony she damage!" Blueblood said trying to defend himself for what he was doing.
"Well I think you should go all of you." Somepony said showing up standing next to Luna he was a unicorn stallion in the mid twenty's. he had a green coat with a black mane with a green stripe and he had a black vest and fedora with a white stripe.
"And who do you think you are?" one of the royals said to the stallion. The two on the other side of the door were wondering who he was and if either he was friend or foe.
"My name is Chase Brantner and by the authority of BOTH Princess Luna and Celestia I am Princess Nyx's and Sir Spike's Protector until Princess Twilight is to come back." This surprised everyone ,including Nyx and Spike, except Luna.
"That is correct now I suggest you do as he says or else I will personally see through all you being put in the dungeon for attempt at murder!" As soon as Luna was done speaking the royals ,including Blueblood, ran away as fast as they could.
Chase went towards the doors and opened them "Lucky for you two you were in Celestia's royal Chambers or else they might have gotten you," Chase said then smiled, "But I think I would've found you with a scrying spell non-the less."
Nyx smiled at him ,but quickly looked down disappointed and down. "Hey what's wrong my lady?"
"Its just what they said and what my mother and Luna said.." Nyx remembered what Luna once said which she heard her say in a dream.
“There are those across Equestria, even in Ponyville, who will strongly disagree with what I’ve done, but that is something Nyx must face. It is a consequence of her actions.” Nyx looked more down at the thought of that memory of the dream.
"Nyx I know what you're thinking and yes what you did has not gone away or may never go away, but that does not mean you can't fix it." Nyx turned her head to Luna who was smiling "So which one is it? are you going to make up to everyone in equestria or are you going to do nothing about it?" Nyx didn't have to think about that as she looked at Luna with a determined face. Luna nodded ,But just then Nyx realized something that she should have realized the moment it should have been said.
"If Chase is my protector then what happened to my Twilight Luna!" Chase looked at Luna in concern Luna's Smile faded as she heard Nyx say those words.
Spike spoke up "She's gone isn't she... on her adventure all of them Are GONE?!" Spike was looking at Luna very stern and short with her.
Luna sighed "That's what we were going to tell you when you got to the throne room and discuss this in private."
Chase looked at Spike and Nyx and then at Luna "Well shall we discuss what happened Princess? Because I am pretty sure that these two would like to know what happened to them." Luna nodded "Well lets go." With that everyone left for the throne room.
Chase, Luna, Nyx, And Spike were on there almost at the throne room although Spike had a question for a vest wearing pony.
"So Chase were you from?" Chase turned his head toward the young dragon
"Early Ponyville, But I moved to Canterlot to be a soldier because well... lets just say I cant stay focused on one thing at a time." Spike got a confused and was about to ask what that meant.
"So why did Luna choose you as our protector?" This time Luna looked back, although not in surprise...but in concern.
Chase paused and thought of the reason Luna wanted him as a protector of these two. He thought and couldn't find one but he did.
"I don't know but were going to have to find out won't we?" Nyx stared astonished at the answer. It wasn't one she was expecting, but couldn't deny it was a good answer.
"Were here" Luna said as she opened the doors and inside was Princess Celestia filling out some paper work with a couple of guards watching over her. Celestia looked up at the door when the group came in.
"Hm hello Nyx and Spike you took a while to get here." Spike and Nyx explained why they were late with Luna confirming why they had been delayed. In the end Celestia just sighed in frustration at what had happened
"Something wrong sister?" Luna had seen Celestia like this a lot during the time she had been back for with her sine she was reformed. At most times she would be tired beyond all belief and would look like she had been through tartarus and back. she had done the best for her, but even still she would still exhaust her self.
Celestia looked at the group "There have been a lot of threats against you Nyx that I am sure you have received many threats on youre life Nyx haven't you?" Nyx was silent but did nod her head. She had death threats by ponies either by mail or by pony. There were also several occasions were she would run for her life. One even managed to actually take her. But Twilight rescued her within the hour.
"I have also had mail, messages, and even threats concerning about you and what Luna did and they have been pestering me about you to lock you up in a dungeon or send you back to the moon." Nyx closed her eyes and in frustration. "I have been ignoring those letters, but even still equestrian ponies still are taking action into there own hands trying to take you, imprison you, ot in the worst case... kill you like just know."
Nyx winced at the thought of all of this and wanted to drop the conversation and fpcus on another matter. Spike wanted to leave the topic alone as well, but took the news seriously.because it was all true.
"We have some encouters like that two. But i am guessing we didn't come to talk about this were we Princess?" Spike said
Celestia nodded "Yes we can talk about this later about this ordeal, but what we do need to talk about is what happned to Twilight" Celestia took out a crystal similar to the teleport crystal, but instead it was bright yellow. Celestia put it down on the center of the floor and shot a bolt of magic at it and it activated, but didn't do anything except making a sound of rustling noise.
"Alright is this on?... Yes its on good" Spike and Nyx perked up at the sound of the voice they knew all two well. It was there mothers voice that was from the crystal.
"Before you say anything this is a recording from the mane 6 when they were at the everfree forest" Nyx and Spike frowned at this. They wanted to believe that there was hope that they could know were there mother and her freinds were.
"Hey can you hurry up with that crystal we need to keep moving! The forest is getting more worse than before and we don't want anything to happen to you 'Princess'!" Rainbow Dash said in the crystal. Nyx and Spike wondered if something were going to happen to them and so they anxiously waited for what happned.
"Alright i am coming! i am just setting this up the recording for the princess!" Twilight said from the crystal "Alright right now we are heading to the Tree Of Harmony to see whats wrong with it." The crystal began to make rustling noises of bushes and grass.
"So i wonder what is wrong with the Tree Of Harmony.." Nyx mumbled to herself.
"Even if we do get in a pinch we can still call on de rainbow power right surgarcube?" AppleJack voice said from the crystal.
"Yes.. here lets be in our forms for now just in case if anything happens." with that the crystal had a noise that cut off the crystal from any sound. Nyx, Spike, was about to ask why it happened until the sound came back on with Fluttershy talking.
"There the tree!" She said and they got close to the tree there was a explosion with a shing and it finally cut off the crystal again this time for good.
"What happned?!" Nyx demanded Celestia turned her head towards Nyx.
"We do not know.. me and Luna both headed there to investigate but the only thing we found was these." With that Celestia pulled out 5 gems that were in pieces and the group looked at the gems 4 of them looked purple with sharp edges in a lavender light purple color the other one looked like a pink oval but in half. Nyx and Spike looked at the gems in concern.
"What is wrong with the Tree of Harmony is it dying again?" Spike asked Celestia.
"Yes i am afraid so. It appears that the elements have all vanished from the tree itself and has been slowly letting the everfree forest into Equestria." She said with a sigh
"But what happened to Mom and the others?!" Nyx yelled. Celestia and Luna lowered her head Nyx gasped at this. Does this mean that Twilight is...?
"We could not find any trace of them in the forest and all we found were those gems you see there." Luna said disapointed that she could not find them. "We even talked to Zecora if they have seen them, but sadly she had not seen by her or in a couple of weeks even." Nyx and Spike's hearts sank. In both of there minds there is the one thought in the back of there heads that there trying to push away and trying to rationalize it.
"We could not find them until we reached the tree," Spike and Nyx looked up "And what we found were...were.." Celestia was losing her composure and was on the brink of tears when she motioned towards Luna to finish what she was going to say.
"We found there............dead bodies.........."
The room was dead silent. Nyxs' mind shut down at this all of her worst fears came true at once. She couldn't hold back the tears that escaped her eyes as it felt like it never would stop and that thought in the back of her head was true...
Her one and only parent was dead.
Spike had trouble standing and fell to his knees while all the while in his head went through denial at the fact they were dead especally the two mares he cared about dearly. They both stood there holding the gems that Celestia and Luna showed them earlier glowing a bit. Celestia regained some of her composure and sat up on her throne.
"For know you will go back to ponyville with Chase and get you're things from you're castle and you will return here." Spike and Nyx still couldn't move or believe what had just happned and there bodies just refused to move. Celestia nodded to Chase for him to take the two home and with a magical pop he teleported to ponyville with Nyx and Spike. Luna looked at her sister and what she saw was Celestia tears flowing down her coat and was just distraught or even paralized at the faces of the two who were just in the room.

Spike and Nyx Around Equestria
Chapter 3: Finding answers and making more questions/Nyx Side
Nyx could not have had a worse day in all of her life Not even the time were she did Equestria wrong and the growing pain that lasted for months that would insure. This type of pain was unfamiliar to Nyx but it hurt. It hurt so much that she couldn't move all she could ponder was why she wasn't with her when she died and why she couldn't get a final goodbye. The sound of doors opening went into her mind, but she still couldn't see anything after what had just happened. She had also had a glowing sound in her head, the pain kept her from finding out what it was. All she could do at the moment while she was there was fall asleep from the pain that was in her head and her heart.
Night was in the sky when Nyx awoke and still having the pain of her mothers loss fresh in her heart and mind. She looked across her room looking at a familiar brother dragon and looking at the only thing she could call family. She looked around it was her room nothing much had changed. Nyx lunged out of her bed, grabbed the gems Celestia and Luna gave her and Spike, and descended out of the window using her wings and ran towards a place were she never wanted to go again but had go. As pain led her towards the Everfree forest.
Nyx wondered into the forest and felt the fear in her heart wash over with anger as she went to go to the castle of the two sisters. She traversed every obstacle the dangerous forest with either avoiding it or just using magic to handle it. She did eventually make it to the castle, But didn't go towards it, instead she went towards the cause of her mothers loss.
The Tree of Harmony
She approached the slowly dying tree with a angry glare. The tree was still blue with magic, but it wouldn't be like that if they didn't find the elements. Nyx kept glaring at it for a couple of minutes until she sat up and put the most hateful glare she had ever put on someone.
"What did you do to her because I know you did something to her didn't you?!" Nyx screamed at the tree. She continued, "Magic only happens for a reason and at the end of the yellow crystals recording I heard a magical well.. pop and you were the only thing powerful enough to do something to them! so... I will ask again only one time... WHAT DID YOU DO TO HER?!" Nyx's mane changed from dark purple to the glow of the dark sky. If you were to compare it to the night it would look at its finest.
The tree didn't respond. This only made Nyx more angry as she continued to stomp her hoof and blast a few rocks with her horn all the while threatening the tree. After a hour of this she glared and the tree one last time as she began to.... cry. She began to cry and was releasing everything all the while her mane slowly changed back to its normal self and she became less angry ,but began to feel more pain and more fear of everything that had happened in the past day and began to release.
Nyx cried out "Please.. just let me find my mommy." the filly was sobbing her heart out wave after wave after wave she couldn't stop. She didn't know how long she was crying, but she didn't care all she cared about right know was the thing that she loved most of all more than anything else in the world... her mother Twilight Sparkle. On and on this went until something happened... but it wasn't the tree. Gigantic vines that came from the tree were know going after Nyx. She realized this, but it was two late before one of them got to her and grabbed her tangling her up until there was no more of her face or body there. She tried to brake free of the vines using her magic or wings she gave a good fight but the vines cut off her magic and broke her wings. She screamed in agony at her broken wings and still tried to flail around but it was no use the vines had her completely at her mercy. The vines held her tight by her hooves, neck, and wings. The vines charged back and began to jab directly at her heart.
"NOT AGAIN!" Shouted a voice burning the vines out and freeing Nyx. Landing on her belly and was hurt, refused to faint. It took a few tries to see who it was it looked like Twilight, but then the person began to decrease in size until there was a familiar dragon that was her family. Nyx tried to get up with her broken wings. cracked horn, and aching body only to soon drop again but accompanied by a certain dragon catching her. She wouldn't let herself slip not now.
"W-wha-what are y-you doing here S-spike?" Nyx stuttered up. Spike turned his head towards Nyx.
"To save you from dying which I barely did with Chase's help... listen I know how torn up you are about mom but right know we need to focus and try to figure out what happened with mom." Nyx looked up at Spike and he just grinned. "Hey you're not the only one curious about what happened are you?" Nyx just laughed a bit before coughing rapidly.
Spike frowned at the sight Nyx hurt and turned to the pony behind him that was Chase. Spike looked at Chase as well as he did the same.
"Do you think you two will be able to find out?" He said. Nyx thought for a moment and looked up at the cave ceiling. Nyx thought about the question in her head and debated weather or not they would. With each moment in the cave thinking, as well as catching her relaxing trying not to think of the pain in her forehead and back, she began to think.
Can we figure it out? Will we ever find out? And if we even do find out, how will we find mom? Were is she anyway? Why not just figure it out instead of sitting here and worrying about it?
The last question caught her off guard, but still pondered at the sudden thought. Why was she worrying so much about that could happen when she should be worried about whats happening now?
'I should find mom no matter what happens and if something does happen then either i let it happen or we try to fix it no matter what'
Nyx looked up at Chase in a determined smile and also noticed Spike smiling in determination, but either way it made Chase smile as well
"I don't know, maybe we will never find out, but should at least try to find something we have a right to." Spike said. Nyx nodded and Chase lowered his horn to Nyx and began to cast a spell. Nyx screamed a little as she felt something in her whole body. but the pain dimmed down a little and Nyx was set down on the ground. She got up and felt her horn was repaired and her wings were slightly healed.
"That was a healing spell for your injured horn and some minor scrapes, but the bones on your wings will have to heal on there own." She sighed in relief knowing that her wings weren't anything else but broken. Nyx looked at the tree and were the elements used to be at... nothing came to mind... but with every passing moment she wanted to find Twilight even more, but with everything she could think of and even looking at the castle library above them from the tree. after several hours of finding nothing.... They still found nothing... nothing but thoughts and theories about the elements.
"UGH, were getting nowhere and were nowhere closer than we starter!" Spike said obvious frustrated about the whole situation.
'okay let's think this through starting from the beginning' Nyx said to herself. ' Twilight disappeared from the dying tree because the tree was trying to save them from something from the forest.. but what could it be aside from the forest unless it is the forest...' Nyx stopped to ponder at that moment. Although she could here Spike and Chase talking, she focused on her thoughts 'so the tree was trying to protect them from the growing threat of the forest so that eventually they would wake up and.... save us.' Nyx checked her head if she was hearing herself correctly. Obviously the tree was smarter than the group thought, but the question still remained were the mane 6?
Nyx began to think again 'The tree did a spell but what kind i mean if they were sent somewhere that would make sense but even if that were the case they would be out of Equestria and out of reach the rest of us ponies here... so it wasn't out of country.' Nyx began to get a little aggravated but did start to think of possibilities again. 'it would also have to be somewhere safe, somewhere were most magic would be useless in and .... probably out, and would be hidden from the rest of the world, but if the entirety of Equestria would sucome to the vines... or worse even in cloudsdale and even were the diamond dogs lived.' the more Nyx found answers the more it didn't make sense to Nyx. the more she found answers to one riddle more riddles popped up.
'Ok just think Nyx if it didn't send them to a PLACE thennnnn.....' Nyx stopped herself right there.. No there was no way... but it was possible you would have to have a insane amount of magic to do that though.. but then again it is the Tree Of Harmony... there was just one question left in the filly's mind know
WHAT object was the mane six sent in?
Nyx began to look around for anything to catch her eye the tree itself looked like a suitable place.. The tree itself caught her eye. 'But if the tree died then they would die too.' Nyx's heart began to pound faster and faster as she looked around in hope of were it they could be. she still began too look around and the tree caught her eye again, but this time it was the something on the tree that used to be there. "The elements maybe?.....'
Nyx mind clicked in her thoughts, It made sense if the elements were sent to a place far across Equestria in a safe haven then they would eventually save the day, she collected the Purple gems that Celestia gave her and took it to the tree but nothing happened. she looked at the gem and looked at the gem and re-arranged it and it indeed was the element of magic, but then why was it not reacting to it? Nyx looked at it and thought if they aren't in the elements then were are they? Nyx started the train of thought again 'okay if it is something connected to the tree of harmony then lets think... the elements are connected to mom and the rest.. the elements are connected to the tree the and the tree is connected to the chest that used to be there with the...!!' Nyx's head had just clicked again in her head and went towards spike and Chase.
"Guys! i know what happened to mom and the others!" spike and Chase stared at her dumbfounded at Nyx not believing her for a second. she sheepishly scratched her head "Ok i will have to explain."
After Nyx explained to Chase and Spike looked baffled at Nyx for this.
Chase was the first to recover and ask "Ok I get that there trapped inside the castle, but how are we get them out?" Nyx paused at this and looked distraught. She didn't think of a way for them to get out of there and recover them back to the real world... if they even could.
"I think I can think of one idea." a voice said that made everypony stop in there tracks.
Just then a magical door appeared beside the tree and with a bang the door popped open with confetti and came out with a familiar draconequus popping out of the door.
"Honestly Celestia you should have a big opening for you whenever you go somewhere it is really fun." With that everypony turned at entrance of the cave where Celestia and Luna came out "And you two Luna I imagine yours would be like the moon rising behind you." Luna rolled her eyes at what Discord said along with Celestia chuckling to herself at that statement. Nyx, Spike, and Chase all looked shocked at the princess and almost immediately tensed at the sight of the three except Chase who stood still.
"Princesses..." Chase said and thought to himself for a second "You knew we would be here so you wanted us to figure out what happened to them and since Nyx is a lot like Twilight and is as smart as her she would be able to figure out what happened to them." It was Celestia's and Luna's turn to be startled by something unexpected. Celestia recovered quickly as fast as Chase and spoke.
"Yes we did, but we did not think you three knew what we were doing." Chase looked serious "We thought if anything you three would find out the truth before any of us did." Nyx looked at Spike and he did the same and then looked back at the two princesses.
Nyx confused beyond all comprehension looked at Luna and Celestia. 'Why would they want us to do that its not like they couldn't do it....right?'
Luna spoke in a very serious manner almost in a Canterlot voice. "We could not enter the this area.. and in turn not figure out what had happened to them." Nyx stood shocked and turned to the tree. She knew what this had meant but why her and.. Nyx turned to Spike as he did the same.
"Upon trying to enter the area we were met with a barrier that blocked us and gave us a vision of you three and us at the time." Celestia said in a calm manner but still the seriousness in her eyes kept the group focused. "And shortly outside the area we find the...lifeless bodies of the mane six..." Celestia was reluctant to say that as she looked away from the three in front of her, as if bracing herself for something.
Nyx closed her eyes from the lingering pain inside her chest and began the pain cycle all over again. before closing her know pain filled eyes she did catch a glimpse of Spike having the same problem she did only he looked down and tears began to wash over while she was almost bending over with her hoof on her chest. Why was that? Why was she always so emotional and with that every time she did why would her magic react to it? and what more importantly is Celestia doing?. The thoughts raced around in Nyx's head and continued two until a voice interrupted.
"But I do not lose hope that we can bring those lifeless bodies back to life." Nyx and Spike both raised their heads up to Princess Celestia in hope following her words.
Luna stepped forward "We found the bodies of the bodies of the mane six but we didn't think they were dead.. We even brought it to some of the best doctors in canterlot and they also confirmed death on several magical instances, But we knew otherwise because of the tree so we were going to ask you three to see if there was a problem while we had to deal with the growing urge of the ponies wondering what had happened." At that point Nyx got furious and stomped in front of the two sisters.
"SO YOU LIED TO US ABOUT THEM BEING DEAD?!" Nyx held no rage behind as she furiously stomped her hoof and was even ready to blast a spell at them.
"No we didn't. We were going to tell you but... the looks on your faces, the tragedy and both the pain and sorrow that struck you, were to much for our hearts to handle. After all we never said they were dead." Nyx immediately stopped after that and looked at the Princesses in horror. how could that elude her and how could that be?,,, At this point Nyx felt stupidity itself hit her head and hoof planted her face many times. After this they continued
"We are sorry we didn't tell you earlier but you two needed to recover because you either got lost in a trance or just went into your head and you were to traumatized and you... lost your senses. " Celestia said. Nyx again felt like she made a huge mistake for both her sake, Spikes, and Twilight's.
But Spike spoke beside her "Well with that aside if Nyx found out what had happened and that there trapped in the castle how do we get them out?" Everypony paused for a second that all had not occurred to them.
Nyx was trying to come up with something in her head but only found one conclusion. "Well if we can't find out a problem here then lets find out at my house!".

Chapter 3: Finding answers and making more questions/Spike Side
Spike's heart was hurting and yearning for Twilight each passing second as Chase was carrying him and Nyx to the castle in Ponyville. Spike may have looked alright but he was in so much pain, a pain he didn't recognize, but it caused his hearing to go numb And as they were walking by everypony in town giving him, Chase, and Nyx all strange looks, both by the looks of horror on their faces or Chase being knew in town.
They began to approach the castle doors as they entered Spike was beginning to fall unconscious..... but not before seeing a purple light before everything began to fall into darkness.
A breeze hit Spike's face from a open window. He got up in a stir from the breeze and looked around with nothing around but a recently messy bed and a open window.
Spike got up and looked in the messy bed as something in particular caught his eye. What caught his eye in particular was the black feather beside the pillow almost getting under the pillow and hiding from view. Spike picked up the feather and looked at it ,but disregarded,
'Must be one of Nyx's old feathers' He set it back down on the bed and at this particular moment in time his stomach decided to make a noise that Spike heard almost every day.
"Grrrrrr...." Spike heard a faint growl from his stomach and a tint of red glowed on his cheeks.
"Well now or never then huh?" Spike said to himself as he hastily went down the stairs to grab something to bite.
As he got down there he looked at the castle halls realizing something... where was Chase? He was the one who brought them to the Friendship Castle from Canterlot Castle...... sooooo were was he? The dragon looked around for the mysterious pony. He did, however, find the stallion on their living rooms couch.
Spike rolled his eyes as know he could relate to Twilight when he wouldn't get up from his basket and would mumble something about Rarity or Hoofball. After a while of trying to get the pony awake off the couch he decided to do what his alarm does.
"GET UP YOU LAZY PONY!!", Spike yelled into Chase's ear and then the stallion shot up from his position on the couch and frantically looked around the room.to see what had happened or was happening.
Chase sighed and looked at Spike with a stern face "WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT FOR?! I THOUGHT YOU AND PRINCESS NYX WERE IN TROUBLE!"
"Well I needed you to tell me what happened back in the castle throne room up to this point of time!!" Spike yelled back in defense as he pointed his finger at him.
"Well first can we get something to eat ok?" Chase got up from the couch and then looked at Spike "But don't please don't ever shout in my ear like that again."
After the commotion of yelling at each other both Spike and Chase got some dinner and sat and the kitchen table, decorated in a beautiful array of decorations by Rarity and crystal branches of the castle. Although Once Spike and Chase began eating all that was said were the sounds of munching on a daffodil and jewel sandwiches.
After a couple minutes of eating Spike eyed Chase as he was confused about something and decided to ask about it.
"Um... so I thought you would be more headstrong like other guards of Canterlot," Spike said, "And also what happened to us all I remember after.... the news," he winced and a thought hidden in the back of his mind grew, but continued to talk, "Is that we were on your back going to the castle and a small 'glow' and then I can't remember anything past that."
Chase looked at Spike as if nothing was wrong, "Well I brought you two to your room ,and by the way your room isn't hard to spot it what with all the dirty clothes and magic residue, I left you in your respective beds and began to search around the castle to know what was in it and then.... I got bored and feel asleep on the couch." Chase looked away for a split second and Spike being with Twilight knew that meant that he was hiding something from him, but didn't press onward about it.
"And then you screamed in my ear and we talked about the things we're are talking about now," Chase began to yawn and stretched and walked towards the exiting door. "Stay here really quick I need to go check something out really quick." And with that he left walking out the door. As Spike was out there he saw a glint of dark mist entering through the underside of the door.
Spike got curious and headed for the exit but didn't seem to find anything on the outside nothing ,but the silence of the castle hallway. Spike looked both way and decided to head back in because he didn't want to have another yelling contest with the stallion in question and was back to his jewel sandwich to finish.
After eating every last crumb the kitchen door had opened and Chase soon stepped though holding a black feather in his wings that was noticeable in his hoof and concerned look on his face.
"Miss Nyx has gone missing." Chase said
Spike immediately got up from his seat and looked the stallion in the eye "Where!?"
Chase looked unfazed and looked at his green irises "The Everfree forest judging by the window and the condition of the feather she left only an hour ago."
"Well what are we waiting for lets go get her!" Spike exclaimed getting to the door
"Ok..,but I need to get you something first" Chase said went out of the room while closing to door with his black dust.
'wait... black dust?' Spike wondered 'But ,from what I read in Twi's books, that type of magic is...' Chase left the room.
"Dark magic?" Spike whispered to himself. Dark magic was forbidden ever since Discord was banished for the second time and was nearly forgotten, but now.... Chase walked back in the room breaking the line of thought and had something in his hand.
"Here have this" He said holding up a....
"is that a Dragon scale?!"
"Yes, and I know what you are thinking ,but don't worry about this" Chase said he as he waved his hands "It just boosts fire based magic ,and I got it from a dragon friend."
"Oh well tell me that before I think you kill dragons." Spike took the scale and looked at it "So it could increase my fire?"
"Yea ,and it will help keep you safe by upping your defense ,but that only works for dragons." Spike looked up at Chase in surprise "But, right know we are wasting time we need to find Princess Nyx and fast before she gets killed."
"Right, LET'S GO!"
"I HATE this forest!" said a agitated Spike "I would love to never see this place again because it has practically been the most troubling thing in the past year!"
"Do you always talk like this to yourself?" Chase asked in a teasing matter "Because if you talk to yourself a lot I can sympathize with you."
Spike just rolled his eyes and spoke again "How could you?"
Chase's smile fell and looked skyward "My life so far has been difficult and... annoying"
The purple and green scaled dragon kept moving, but looked back at the pony behind him
"I would rather not get into it.. and I would also like to move forward from it." said Chase.
Spike looked back at him in wonder "Why forget about a horrible past that was a big part of your life?"
"Well no that's also not true because I did learn a lot from being in that past and I mostly remember the good memories and the important lessons that were taught to me... its the bad experiences that I move past." Chase said as he got silent and began to traverse memory lane, but before that he shot his head down and blasted a nearby vine and grabbed Spike as black vines came out of hiding.
"Hey what's going-" just then a black vine caught foot of his leg and began to pull "CHASE HEEELP!"
Chase kicked it off just in time and it fell out of view, but more black vines appeared and began to chase them at speeds almost rivaling Rainbow Dash. The vines k chasing them for a time and eventually caught Chase by the leg. Spike dropped down with a thud and looked back
"Chase!" said Spike as he reached out a claw. the vine dragged him and he saw Chase's fedora fall of him and what showed was a broken horn and on top of it was pouring out dark mist and noticed his hat was the same way. Chase looked up and saw the look on Spikes face and quickly ran toward the vines to were they were dragging him to darkness and soon after a explosion of dark mist covered the sky.
Spike looked at the dark mist in the sky and then stared to were Chase was dragged off to soon after he stepped out of were he was which was the source of the dark mist.
Silence was all that was heard from the two except the burning singe of the mist.
"Are you ok?" Chase said finally, but it did little to ease the dragon and as thoughts in his head were racing at the speed of light.
'how was that possible, does he really use black magic?, what did he do to get this power?, WHAT WAS UP WITH HIS HORN?!'
Spike's thoughts raced around in his head until he heard a familiar voice
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
Nyx's scream echoed in Spike's mind and immediately let his instincts of finding his sister saving her from whatever it was hurting her. As Spike was running towards Nyx's screams he heard hoofsteps from behind him and before he knew it he was on Chases' back and was galloping in the same direction Spike was heading.
"Spike I need to warn you about something!" Chase exclaimed
"What?" Spike was getting a little nervous about what Chase was planning.
"I am going to use a very different teleport spell and I need you to stay calm and don't be influenced by the dark magic."
"Wha-What?!" Now Spike was scared. He had experienced teleportation before, but he also experienced dark magic from Sombra, and he didn't know if he wanted to two to combine on himself.
"Are you wanting to save Nyx or not?!" The thought registered in Spike's head and he nodded.
"All right in 3...2..1.."
Within the split second of the spell activating Spike tried to not think of what he was going into, but within that split second of being engulfed in darkness all Spike heard was a voice in the back of his mind that made him open his eyes.
"Hello young dragon."
Spike opened his eyes the moment he heard the voice, but saw nothing as he was next to Chase and near the stairway leading to the tree of harmony.
Spike got and saw Chase getting up and was about to help him, but stopped at what he saw down below in the cave. It was Nyx and she was having her wings broken and getting more injuries by the minute.
Spike rushed down immediately at the sight of Nyx being tortured.
"Not again.." Spike thought in his head. he remembered the sight of Nyx getting hurt and constantly being threatened by people and didn't like to see this happen and Twilight absolutely loathed this happening almost everyday with Ponyville.
Rage welled up inside him and when he got to the vines he let out his rage with a green flame and instantly burned the vines away making Nyx fall on her stomach. After falling back onto the ground Spike caught his breath after his attack on the vines., but he only had a few moments before noticing Nyx trying to get up and going to inevitably fall back on her stomach and made a small jog to catch her in the fall. And soon enough Nyx began to waver and fell, but not before Spike caught her in his claws.
"W-wha-what are y-you doing here S-spike?" Nyx stuttered up. Spike looked down at Nyx and after catching his breath for the second time.
To save you from dying which I barely did with Chase's help..." Spike stopped at his words for a moment. He was furious at Nyx for leaving and almost getting herself killed again, but stopped himself.
'She didn't do it for no reason and to lash out at her just for wanting to see Twilight again and figure out what was going on when we both have a right to know...' While Spike was thinking about this but not for to long.
He turned his head back to Nyx, "listen I know how torn up you are about mom but right know we need to focus and try to figure out what happened with mom."
Spike immediately noticed Nyx looking at him in either a astonishment or quizzical look on her face, and maybe it was both, it almost made him laugh but resisted the urge to do so and just grinned at Nyx.
"Hey you're not the only one curious about what happened are you?" Spike said in a slightly sarcastic voice which made Nyx laugh a little bit before coughing rapidly which made Spike frown and replaced his slightly cheerful mood of the situation into worry.
Just then Spike heard hoofsteps and turned his head to see who it was. It was Chase walking in and looking at the Tree of Harmony and its state then at Nyx.
"Do you think you two will be able to find out?" He said. Spike thought for a moment and looked at the floor in concern.
Can we figure it out? Will we ever find out? And if we even do find out, how will we find Twilight? Were is she anyway? Why not just figure it out instead of sitting here and worrying about it?
Spike blinked that last thought came out of nowhere, but he didn't ignore it. Why was he thinking about not finding out when he and Nyx want to know about it and will do the most they can to find out?
Spike looked up and directed his gaze with the thought 'Even though the journey to getting the truth may be tough, I will have to be just more tough to get through it.' He noticed Nyx having a smile as well making Chase grin.
"I don't know, maybe we will never find out, but should at least try to find something we have a right to." Spike said. Chase nodded and walked closer to Nyx and lowered his horn and a light green mist and it entered its body. Spike had seen this kind of medical magic before when Twilight was practicing it on him and Nyx whenever he and she got hurt and had to be treated. Nyx screamed a little as the green shimmer went throughout her body and her bruises and cuts.
"That was a healing spell for your injured horn and some minor scrapes, but the bones on your wings will have to heal on there own,". Spike looked at were the cuts and bruises all of that was once there then looked at the Tree of Harmony and remembered the other reason for him wanting to be here.
"All right lets start thinking of how this could have happened." Spike, Nyx and Chase began going back in forth about theories of how they have disappeared, but found very little considering the circumstances. There were no clues, except the audio recording, no hoof prints or marks, or any thing that looks like it shouldn't be there except for the dark aura in the trees appearance.
After several hours of the night and endless thoughts and discussions they were still nowhere near figuring out what had happened to the mane 6.
"UGH, were getting nowhere and were nowhere closer than we starter!" Spike said. For the past several hours they had no idea about were Twilight had gone and why and it was a complete mystery. Spike sat beside Chase at a cave wall obviously in thought as well.
Spike remembered that voice in his head and that it never spoke to him until now and wanted to talk about it, but wasn't sure of the reaction he was going to get.
Chase looked down beside him "Spike, when we came out of that portal, did you hear a tiny voice in your head?" Spike looked stunned and didn't know what to say he was speechless as he stared back after a minute of this Spike suddenly had some interest looking at the bottom of his claws.
"Yes-Yes i did hear a voice." he said "But is that what you mean by 'Influenced by dark magic'?" Chase nodded his head.
"Its how my first days of the darkness in my body manifested itself." Spike looked horrified and Chase saw this "Its not that bad the first few days!" he hastily said, but it did little to calm Spikes nerves, "It just progressively gets worse and sometimes it can cause you to do some bad things if you don't fight it..." Chase paused and looked up at his forehead and then looked back down at Spike "It can take control of you."
At this point Spike was slightly numb throughout his entire body and his body appeared to have stopped its gears and didn't move.
"Well i would like to tell you my story but it would take to long to divulge in and would take so much time that Nyx would probably figure out what had happened to the mane 6."
Spike rolled his eyes and was looking at Nyx who continued to be pacing in circles looking to be in deep thought. Spike was considering considered going up to Nyx and seeing what she was thinking about it but decided to against it besides he had one more question to ask Chase about the darkness apparently manifesting itself inside him.
"Um.. Chase how will i be able to fight against it?" Spike asked.
"You will have to be able to fight it off your own way." He said "And if you beat it you decide to what happens to your darkness."
Spike was slightly numb and didn't know what Chase meant by that and wanted to ask him about it.
But his train of thought was interrupted by a black alicorn filly racing towards them.
"Guys! I know what happened to mom and the others!" spike and Chase stared at her dumbfounded at Nyx not believing her for a second. she sheepishly scratched her head "Ok i will have to explain." After this Nyx took in a slightly deep breath and spoke.
"Twilight and the others got trapped inside the castle because the tree of harmony took them their and is now protecting them from the whatever is going on in the forest and causing it to go haywire." Everything went silent as Nyxs words began to sink in.
Spike looked over at Chase who seemed to have the same baffled look on his face as Spike.
'Well looks like Chase was right about her figuring it out, but forgot that her mind can think as fast as Twilight.' Spike thought.
Chase recovered from his temporary shock "Ok I get that there trapped inside the castle, but how are we get them out?".
Now it was time for Nyx to look shocked. Spike obviously saw that Nyx didn't think that far though.
"I think I can think of one idea." a voice said that made everypony stop in there tracks.
Just then a magical door appeared beside the tree and with a bang the door popped open with confetti and came out with a familiar draconequus popping out of the door.
"Honestly Celestia you should have a big opening for you whenever you go somewhere it is really fun." With that everypony turned at entrance of the cave where Celestia and Luna came out "And you two Luna I imagine yours would be like the moon rising behind you." Luna rolled her eyes at what Discord said along with Celestia chuckling to herself at that statement.
Spike stood still having the same numb sensation he had a few moments ago and saw that Nyx had the same thing happen to her, but Chase was the one who didn't seem fazed by the Princesses appearance and Spike could've sworn he heard Chase say something but couldn't tell.
He stood there looking lost in thought for a second and opened his eyes after several moments. "You knew we would be here so you wanted us to figure out what happened to them and since Nyx is a lot like Twilight and is as smart as her she would be able to figure out what happened to them." Spike looked at Chase as if he was some fortune teller. The princesses seemed to be just as taken back as he was, but Celestia recovered quicker that he imagined.
"Yes we did, but we did not think you three knew what we were doing." Chase looked serious "We thought if anything you three would find out the truth before any of us did." Spike looked astonished and looked towards Nyx who did the same with the expression of non-comprehension.
Luna spoke next in same serious tone as Celestia, "We could not enter the this area.. and in turn not figure out what had happened to them." Spike turned to Nyx for the second time and they looked at each other again.
"And shortly outside the area we find the...lifeless bodies of the mane six..." Celestia was reluctant to say that as she looked away from the three in front of her, as if bracing herself for something.
Spike didn't know what to say and looked down tears he didn't know he had were streaming down his face. Spike still had lingering pains of what had happened in the throne room and didn't want to think about it, but no matter how hard he tried he could not push the memory of what had happened put of his head.
"But I do not lose hope that we can bring those lifeless bodies back to life." Nyx and Spike both raised their heads up to Princess Celestia in hope following her words.
Luna stepped forward "We found the bodies of the bodies of the mane six but we didn't think they were dead.. We even brought it to some of the best doctors in canterlot and they also confirmed death on several instances, But we knew otherwise because of the tree so we were going to ask you three to see if there was a problem, but we had to deal with the growing urge of the ponies wondering what had happened."
At this point Spike looked at them in disbelief. But heard a fierce hoofstomp behind him and looked back seeing Nyx absolutely livid.
"SO YOU LIED TO US ABOUT THEM BEING DEAD?!" Nyx held no rage behind as she furiously stomped her hoof and was even ready to blast a spell at them.
"No we didn't. We were going to tell you but... the looks on your faces, the tragedy and both the pain and sorrow that struck you, were to much for our hearts to handle. After all we never said they were dead." The next moment She looked dumbstruck and she looked like she wanted to take back her words and Spike saw her hoof plant herself as he rolled his eyes.
"We are sorry we didn't tell you earlier but you two needed to recover because you either got lost in a trance or just went into your head and you were to traumatized and you... lost your senses. " Spike remembered were he could barely see anything as he was heading back into the castle and could only hear murmurs. Spike saw Nyx looking at her own hooves and walked towards her and put a claw on her shoulder.
"Well with that aside if Nyx found out what had happened and that there trapped in the castle how do we get them out?" He saw everypony stop at his words and looked at Nyx both of them nodding.
"Well if we can't find out a problem here then lets find out at my house!" Spike only rolled his eyes and nodded his head.
