//-------------------------------------------------------// The Final War -by xaroquan- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2: Catching Up (Part 1: Celestia) //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2: Catching Up (Part 1: Celestia) This chapter references 'Queen Zacherle' the original MLP G1 creator, Bonnie Zacherle. "...Mother?!" Celestia asked, shocked. Her mother's voice could be described like hers, but with a bit of Luna's in it as well. "Hello my eldest daughter, Princess Celestia." The larger Alicorn said. 'Q-Queen Faust!" Celestia said, hearing her own title, and she bowed to the Queen. "Arrise daughter, you do not have to bow to me." Faust stated. "O-O-Ok..." Celestia nervously replied, returning to her normal stature. "Luna is not to hear of this conversation. I will explain how I am present right now. You see, over 3,000 years I have been working on a spell inside my own magic lock in order to return to Equestria. I have partially succeeded. I can only see you or Luna at once, not both of you, and I cannot see anypony outside of you two, except Discord." Faust stated. "But how did you.... you were locked inside your own magic!" Celestia replied, still shocked. "As I said Celestia, I worked on spells inside what I was locked out of, until I could figure out how to access more powerful spells in different ways. Do not forget that I also re-created Equestria after the original was destroyed." Faust said calmly. "Original....?" Celestia asked, confused. "You do not know this but my mother, your grandmother, Queen Zacherle, who is now an Eternal Goddess, Goddess of Storms, created the original Equestria." "Grandmother... Original Equestria.... Queen Zacherle... Eternal Goddess... Goddess of Storms? for the first time I am royally confused." Celestia said. "Heh. Somethings even you have not yet learned my daughter." Faust said in a bit of a chuckle. "This I know... after all things like the Crystal Empire I have but limited knowledge to, but am studying on ever since my former student, now Princess Tw-" Celestia was saying, before being cut off. "Princess Twilight Sparkle, Princess of Friendship, Element of Magic." Faust said. Celestia's jaw dropped comically low. "W-w-w-w-w-ha? How did you... what?!" Celestia blurted. "Heh. You do not know the highest levels of magic daughter. There are magics that go far beyond even your imagination. Magic that I know." Faust again calmly replied. "Which side of the bed did I wake up on... cause it definitely was NOT the right side...." Celestia said, shaking her head a bit. "It is a bit funny to see you out of character daughter." Faust said, laughing a bit. "Out of... I'm completely stumpfed right now! I don't know what to.. well anything!" Celestia said, a bit loudly. "Please, calm yourself. You will awaken Luna, in which that event happens I must leave." Faust said a bit sternly. "How do I calm myself... this is incomprehensible!" Celestia flabbergastedly stated, if she were a normal pony right now, her mane would look like Discord was her hairdresser. "You are loud right now, and not very conducted. Please daughter, try and calm yourself, especially in the Queen's Presence. I kid about that part slightly, but please, try and be more relaxed daughter, ok?" Faust stated/asked. "Understood, mother..." Celestia quietly responded. "Thank you Celestia." Faust said. "You're welcome Mother..." Celestia replied. "I must say, you've grown up to be a beautiful mare my daughter. You truly have the look of a Princess, and I know that you have done well with carrying your title. I am extremely proud of you." Faust smilingly said. "Do you know about the event with Nightmare Moon?" Celestia asked, a bit hesitant. "Yes, I know of the event of Nightmare Moon. The truth is, when she knocked you down the way she did, you 'died' but because of being an Alicorn, your special magic revived you. I know that time in which you had to banish her was tough, because unlike at the time where I banished your father, you still loved your sister when you did what you had to, and you continue to love her today, as a true sister should." Faust said. "Thank you mother.... and yes it was a very hard time for me... but I knew if I didn't... Equestria would have been forever dark....and when she returned... I have a question.... the elements defeated her, but it didn't send her to the moon... why?" Celestia asked. "When the elements defeated Nightmare Moon, the Nightmare Spirit was banished from Luna, and is locked away in the same chambers Scorpan long ago locked the Element of Darkness, as well as the Rainbow of Darkness that Tirek once had possession off, are locked away." Faust answered. "What about others? Like Grogar" Celestia asked. "One knows not of what happened to Grogar. It is said he has forever walked the endless valleys of the farthest side in Equestria, looking for a way to escape, but has constantly failed, and will always fail to find a way to escape." Faust again answered. "I see...will Scorpan ever return?" Celestia asked. "Scorpan will only return in which the case we may have a final battle. Which should not happen for millenia to come." Faust stated. "I understand... and mother... I've missed you." Celestia said, hugging Faust. "I have missed you too Celestia, and one day I promise to be rejoined with both you and Luna." Faust replied, hugging back and nuzzling Celestia." "I wish.. huh?" Celestia jumped back a bit as she saw her mother slowly becoming more and more transparent. "It would appear that Luna has began to awake.... I must go now Celestia. Remember, do not tell Luna of this, because I will tell her myself." Faust said, before fading away into nothingness. Luna opened the door and walked outside and noticed the broken Coffee Cup Celestia had broken upon seeing Queen Faust "Good morning Sister, but what happened here?" Luna asked. "I wasn't paying attention." Celestia lied. "Ok... anyways, shall we have breakfast dearest sister?" Luna asked. "Breakfast sounds nice." Celestia replied. Luna and Celestia went together and after it was done, ate breakfast and talked about ranging subjects over the course of their meal, but Celestia still was also thinking of the event she'd both seen and heard earlier, and was wondering how Luna would react to it when it happened to her. "Is something the matter sister?" Luna asked, noticing Celestia had been constantly zoning out. "No, no everything's fine Luna, I just need to go for a stroll, that's all." Celestia lied again. "Ok, but be sure to be back by the time the Day Time Meeting is held. You know how some of the nobles are." Luna stated. "Yeah, I know, and sometimes I wish I could just zap one of their noble flanks right out of my castle." Celestia annoyingly replied. "Let's not do that sister, it could cause consequences." Luna remarked. "I know Luna, but I know you wish you could do it sometimes too." Celestia replied. "True, true... but that's besides the point, anyways sister go ahead and take your stroll. I will make sure the Celestial Guards get their early orders for the day." Luna said. "Right, and thank you Luna." Celestia said. "You are welcome dearest sister." Luna replied. Celestia then walked outside and actually instead of going on a normal stroll walked throughout Canterlot, before deciding to take a trip to Ponyville, while Luna meanwhile made sure all the Celestial Guard got their orders for the early morning shift. End Chapter 2 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3: Catching Up (Part 2: Luna) //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3: Catching Up (Part 2: Luna) Luna was in her room studying upon magic and reading in general when a voice spoke up "Luna." the voice said. Luna's ears perked up and she immediately looked up, her jaw dropped at the sight, there standing the Great White Alicorn that had just talked to Celestia early in the morning unbeknownst to Luna "M-M-M-M-Mother?!" Luna said in disbelief, before continuing. "N-no... this isn't right, you aren't real!" Luna finished, before throwing a book at what she believed to be some sort of trick being played on her eyes. Faust Simply Caught the book and through it back at Luna, who almost got wacked in the face with it due to her lack of attention, before she realized it was floating in front of her, held by Faust's magic "You should pay more attention young Luna." Faust said. "B-B-But HOW?! H-how are you here?" Luna asked. "I am not completely here. I can only see you and Celestia one at a time, I cannot see you both. Whenever you sleep, or whenever you are not in the same vicinity, I will see Celestia. Whenever Celestia is asleep or not in the same vicinity as you, I will see you, my youngest daughter." Faust replied. "But... how can you possibly manage this? Is it some form of magic I don't know of?" Luna asked in a curious tone. "Indeed, daughter, it's a form of magic that not even you or Celestia know, as it's roots have been lost over the times. I have already visited with Celestia, while you were asleep." Faust answered. "...I bet that's what that broken mug was from.. not her not paying attention..." Luna murmured. "Indeed Luna, when I come in her sight, she dropped her mug and it shattered on the floor." Faust added. "Can anypony else see you other than my sister and I?" Luna asked. "Only one, and that would be Discord." Faust replied. "Luna, I need to make something clear to you. Firstly, tell Celestia not of this conversation. When I have Spoke with Discord, then you all 3 may reveal your conversations with me, but do not reveal them beforehoof. And more importantly, whether you realize it or not, Celestia is in distress." Faust said in a serious manner. "In distress....? What do you mean mother?" Luna was completely lost. "Your sister is letting her own dark spirit begin to control her. The Solar Spirit, essentially the Sun's version of the Nightmare Spirit. Please when you reveal your conversations let Celestia know that I told her do not try to attempt to find a way to bring me completely back. She simply can't understand that level of magic yet." Faust said in a serious tone. "I understand mother. I will make sure to warn her." Luna replied in a loyal manner. "I know you will daughter, but try to keep an eye for any signs of her mood worsening." Faust said. "I will mother." Luna Replied. "And Your sister actually went to Ponyville." Faust stated. "WHAT?! She said she was just going for a little stroll!" Luna said, a bit panicked. "Calm child, she is simply going there to visit with her former student and now 4th Princess, Princess Twilight." Faust stated. "Oh ok... wait... how do you know Twilight?" Luna asked, confused. "A magician never reveals their secrets my lovely daughter of the night." Faust said with a smile. "Oh phooey..." Luna said, slightly dejected. "Oh you'll be fine Lulu." Faust said, calling Luna by her nickname. "I haven't heard that name in millenia..." Luna said, a small tear coming to her eye and a smile as she hugged her mother's neck, to Faust Luna was about as small to Faust as a normal pony was compared to Celestia. "I must go now Luna, I do in technicality have more time to spend with you, but I do not want to show favoritism." Faust said before hugging her daughter back and nuzzling her and then seperating. "I... I understand mother... I hope to see you again soon..." Luna stated. "In due time My Little Pony, In due time." Faust said with a smile, before fading away to nothingness. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1: Celestia and Luna- Celestia's Question //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1: Celestia and Luna- Celestia's Question Note: This chapter references the Lauren Faust OC also known as 'Queen Faust' or 'Fausticorn' "Luna.... Princess Twilight and the Elements always find the answer to questions... but I still cannot figure out a question I've had since before Nightmare Moon, and even further back than before Discord or King Sombra..... what happened to our mother?" Celestia asked. "Sister, our mother was long ago locked away by her own magic, in order to also forever banish our wicked father. Had she not banished him, Equestria would not even exist as we know it today." Luna replied. "That still doesn't really answer everything... I can't remember how she looked... I can't remember anything... except this..." Celestia said, levitating an old book over that looked at least 2,000 years old. "That is the book she would read to us as young fillies, before we would sleep sister." Luna said, observing the book. "It has been so long since the time we were once young.... this book reminds me of those times." Celestia stated, smiling a bit. "It is quite a fascinating book really sister." Luna said. "Perhaps we should read it?" Celestia asked. "Of course dearest sister." Luna replied, smiling. Luna and Celestia sat down in Luna's bed with Celestia reading Chapter 1, then Luna reading Chapter 2, and so on, taking turns until Celestia fell asleep. Luna simply smiled, then closed the book and fell asleep with her older sister. Next Morning Celestia awoke first, her sister still asleep, which was better because she'd awoke a bit late. Celestia got to raising the sun, before going and making herself some morning coffee. She dropped it, however, when she turned back around. A white Alicorn, larger than herself, stood before her, with blue eyes, a red mane and tail, her cutie mark a quill inside an ink cup. Celestia immediately recognized the pony, the memories flooding back to her. She was in shock and the single word that left her own mouth next was… "MOTHER?!"
