Chapters The next morning, Fluttershy woke up and got out of bed. She put her hooves on the floor, but then she tripped on something. She looked to see what it was she tripped on.
It was an apple.
"Oh no, it's true!" said Fluttershy, now knowing that Applejack was completely honest. She knew that she needed more help now, now that she had known that something awful was about to happen. She needed someone who could, perhaps, give her something that could kill the apple tree in her stomach, such as a potion or a pill. "I must go tell Twilight!" said Fluttershy. "Maybe she can help!"

Twilight was busy working on another potion, this time a potion that cured constipation. She liked the new Golden Oaks Library, the one she had taken from the weird boy and his magic dog. She had renovated it up pretty nicely, but it just wasn't the same as her old one.
Just then, Twilight heard a knock on the door. "Come in!" said Twilight, and Fluttershy walked in. "Yes, what is it, Fluttershy?"
Then Fluttershy said, "You see, I accidentally ate apple seeds, and Applejack told me that I'd turn into an apple tree. It turns out that it's true."
"Really? I thought you wanted to turn into a tree!" said Twilight.
"No, I'm too scared to now!" said Fluttershy. Just then, Fluttershy felt something pushing her stomach. She looked down and saw something bulging out of her belly button. Twilight watched as an apple popped out of Fluttershy's belly button and fell to the ground. Twilight picked the apple up, sniffed it, and took a bite.
"Hmmmm" Said Twilight, chewing, "This apple does taste very strange. It doesn't really taste like a normal apple."
"So will you find something that will kill the tree in my stomach?" said Fluttershy.
"Well, no can do!" Said Twilight, and she began going through her books. "Ah, here it is!" she opened up a book on special remedies. She flipped through the pages, trying to find the stuff that Fluttershy was looking for. She then came across a recipe for a weed-killing potion. "this might do it, hold on!" Said Twilight, and she got to work brewing.
"Are you sure it works?" Said Fluttershy.
"I hope so!" Said Twilight as she mixed the potions to make the medicine for Fluttershy.
Fluttershy said "Good, I'm-OW!" as another apple fell out of her belly button.
Twilight then finished making the potion. "It's ready!" she said, and she handed it over to Fluttershy, who drank the entire bottle. "Hey, don't drink too much of it!" said Twilight again.
"I just want the tree to go away!" said Fluttershy.
"You shouldn't have done it, really." said Twilight. "There could be very dangerous side effects!"
"Like what?" said Fluttershy.
"I don't know, so please try to ignore it" Said Twilight.
"OK, fine" said Fluttershy, and she walked out the door.

The next day at the new Golden Oaks Library, Twilight was enjoying a nice book when she heard another knock at the door. "Come in! Said Twilight, and as soon as the pony opened the door, Twilight was shocked at what she saw.
"The potion didn't work at all" said Fluttershy.
Twilight saw that Fluttershy's skin had turned to tree bark, and her wings turned into braches, her feathers were now leaves. There was an apple hanging from her tail as well. For Fluttershy was now, in fact, a tree. "Oh, no, what have I done!" said Twilight, and she ran up to Fluttershy and took a closer look at her. "hmmm, lets see... bark, branches, leaves... Yep, the potion didn't work. I'm sorry, but you're now a tree."
"Oh no!" Said Fluttershy worriedly. "Can you change me back?"
"I'm sorry Fluttershy, but I'm afraid I can't do that. You'll just have to live with it." Said Twilight, looking down. Then, she started crying. "OH NO! I'M A FAILURE! I'M THE WORST PRINCESS EVER! I'M GOING TO GET BANISHED TO THE MOON!" cried Twilight loudly and dramatically.
"Don't be so upset" said Fluttershy, "sometimes you just don't know things, and that causes a little problems. I'm fine as a tree, I'd always liked to be a tree."
"So, let me get this straight." Said Twilight, wiping her tears. "At first, you wanted to be a tree, then when you found out you were going to become a tree, you didn't want to, and now you want to again?"
"Exactly." said Fluttershy. "I'll be fine as a half-pony half-tree. At least I can still walk, talk, and see. It's not like I'm going to fully become a tree. I mean, that would be nice, but I like this better."
"OK, that's fine" Said Twilight.
"Yeah, I'm fine." Said Fluttershy. "I just have to go back home now. Maybe Discord might get a hoot out of this" said Fluttershy.
Fluttershy walked out the door and started walking back home. As she was walking on the grass, Fluttershy began to feel her hooves sticking to the ground more and more. "What?" she said as she looked at her back hooves. Fluttershy watched in shock as roots sprouted from her wooden hooves and planted themselves into the ground. Fluttershy couldn't move anymore. She struggled to uproot her feet, but no luck. Then, she felt her spine forcing her upright, and her body was beginning to harden. "Oh, brother. She finally said.
Fluttershy was now a tree.
Fluttershy was relaxing under a tree. "You know, I'd love to be a tree" she said to herself. That was her lifetime wish. As she sat under the tree, she had a snack: An apple. Fluttershy ate the apple very quickly, as she was feeling very hungry. She finished her apple, but she felt like there was something wrong with it. She tried to think about what was wrong, but she couldn't quite put her hoof on it. Realizing that it was just her and that there was really nothing wrong, she walked back into her cottage and went to go throw away the core, but then she felt something. There was no core.
She ate the core.
Fluttershy gasped. "Oh no" she said, "I ate the seeds! Is something bad gonna happen to me?" Fluttershy didn't know what was going to happen, and that scared her the most. She tried to think about what might happen. Was she going to DIE? Nah, that's too serious. It's not that bad. It wouldn't do anything, right? Just seeds, nothing bad, it wasn't like it was poisonous. But she needed to double check if nothing bad will happen. Not knowing anything, she needed to ask someone just to make sure. And she knew exactly who.

Applejack was busy kicking the apples off the trees when Fluttershy came up to her. "Hiya Fluttershy, whatcha doin' here?" asked Applejack.
"Applejack, I know you know almost everything about apples, so I'm wondering if you could answer this question for me." said Fluttershy.
"Sure I'd answer your question! Whatcha wanna ask?" said Applejack.
"Um, do you know what happens when you eat apple seeds?"
Just then, Applejack's eyes widened. Fluttershy had done a huge sin it appeared, and Applejack, knowing what would happen, feared that if she told her, Fluttershy would freak out and panic, and she wouldn't want to make her friend feel that bad. However, being the element of honesty, Applejack knew that she had to tell the truth, even if it made her friend feel uncomfortable.
"What is it, Applejack?" said Fluttershy.
"Fluttershy," said Applejack, "I hate to break it to you, but when you eat apple seeds, then an apple tree will grow in your stomach."
"Really?"
"Yeah, just don't panic, we'll find out a way to stop it." said Applejack.
This made Fluttershy scared. Although she thought it would be nice to be a tree, she was now terrified when she found out she was actually going to become a tree. "Please, please tell me you're joking around!" she said.
"Sorry, I'm the element of honesty, and I have to break it to you!" said Applejack. That's when Fluttershy ran away, crying, terrified of what was about to happen.

Later that night, Fluttershy was in bed, staring at the ceiling, still bothered about what would happen. Applejack must have been joking. Wy not go for a little joke? Maybe Applejack would come back the next morning and tell her that she was foolingi around, and that an apple tree wasn't really going to grow in her stomach. But what if it was true? What if Applejack was telling the truth right away? What if Fluttershy was, in fact, going to turn into a tree? It seemed impossible, but Applejack said it, and Applejack is the element of honesty. Just to be safe, Fluttershy thought Applejack was joking around.
Finally, Fluttershy fell asleep.
Pinkie Pie was enjoying a nice morning stroll through Ponyville Park when she heard Fluttershy's voice. "Hello, Pinkie, it's Fluttershy." she said.
"Yes." said Pinkie. "Where are you? I can't see you? How are you so close? Are we playing hide and seek?"
"No." Said Fluttershy. "Just try to listen for where my voice is coming from and you'll understand."
"OK." said Pinkie Pie, and she began looking around, trying to find where Fluttershy was. She walked over to a tree. "Are you here?" she asked.
"Yes, look at the other side of this tree." Said Fluttershy. Pinkie Pie walked over to the other side of the tree and got a shock. There, on the trunk of the tree, was Fluttershy's face. "I'd always liked to be a tree." she said.
"Fluttershy! What HAPPENED to you?" said Pinkie in a shock.
"You see, I accidentally ate the seeds of an apple, and Applejack said that an apple tree would grow inside my stomach." said Fluttershy. "Then Twilight gave me a potion that turned me into an apple tree."
"Oh, I see. Are your apples ripe?" asked Pinkie.
"Let me check." said Fluttershy, and the tree shook, causing a ripe, red apple to fall from the tree. Pinkie picked it up and took a bite. It didn't taste right.
"This tastes NOTHING like apples!" said Pinkie Pie.
"It doesn't?" said Fluttershy. "Then what does it taste like?"
"Chocolate milk!" said Pinkie, jumping up and down. That's when Fluttershy finally made a realization.
"Aha!" said Fluttershy. "Now I know who's behind all this!"
"Who?" said Pinkie, just as Discord came climbing down Fluttershy's trunk. "Discord?" Pinkie said in surprise.
"Oh, hello there." said Discord. "If you're wondering why Fluttershy is now an apple tree, it's because she didn't buy my favorite applesauce when she went grocery shopping!"
"What?" Fluttershy said. "That's why you did it? Because I didn't get you what you wanted?"
"That it correct!" said Discord. "I just didn't want you to go through all the trouble of going back to the store and getting me that applesauce I wanted. So I turned you into an apple tree!"
"Well, I would be more than happy to go back to the store and get it for you!" Fluttershy said kindly.
"Oh, so you're willing to do it? Go ahead!" said Discord.
"Well, first, you have to change me back." said Fluttershy. Discord snapped his fingers, and Fluttershy was back to normal. "Oh, yes, I'm finally a pony again!"
"I'm sorry I did such a thing to you. But it was hilarious!" said Discord.
"It sure was pretty clever." said Fluttershy. "Say, what really happens when you eat an apple seed?"
"Oh, nothing." said Discord.
"Then why did Applejack say it would happen?" Fluttershy asked.
"Oh, because Applejack helped me set it up a bit. She's already apologized to Twilight for lying." Discord said.
"Yes, now I can eat the stem and the core safely!" said Pinkie Pie.
"So, will you get me my favorite applesauce?" Discord asked Fluttershy.
"Sure thing" said Fluttershy, and she walked over to the store to go get some.
