Who Were They?

Princess Cadance was worried.

"Damn it, what has gotten into Twilight all of a sudden? Why did she run away like that?" she wondered to herself as she paced. "At least she didn't take the Elements of Harmony." she was at least thankful for that.

Cadance suspected that Twilight went off to help out...him. The thought of her step-sister actually helping such a monster made her shiver. She turned her attention to the window in her chambers, only to find an unexpected sight; Celestia's sun raising above the horizon.

"What? Impossible!" she was stunned. "I don't remember setting the sun to rise so soon."

"That's because it did it on its own Princess." responded a new voice. Cadance looked around to find herself surrounded by cloaked unicorns.

"Huh?" the princess looked around. "How did you get in here? This room is shielded from teleportation spells."

"We of the sisterhood are skilled at breaking through such defensive spells." explained one of the cloaked unicorns.

"You..." she knew exactly who they were. "the ones that created Sombra, tried to kidnap me and murdered Celestia! About time you came out of hiding." she hissed. "Why are you raising the sun?"

"We have nothing to do with the sun, it is much too far away for any unicorn or alicorn to control." one of them explained. "But I guess your dearest Celestia never told you that?" she smirked with pleasure.

Cadance just growled. "Whatever you have planned, it would never work, the elements of harmony and the power of friendship can defeat you!"

"Blah, blah, blah, friendship, blah, blah, blah, harmony." the cloaked unicorn taunted. "Those foalish things will no longer save you now, besides, we happened to have done some four hooves discount shopping on the way."

Another cloaked unicorn opened a box to reveal all six elements inside. "Too easy."

Cadance was stunned. "But...but...how?"

"We are to send you message Princess Cadance." she continued.

"And that is...?" the princess raised an eyebrow.

"Abdicate the throne and voluntarily exile yourself to wherever the mirror takes you." she explained. "The elements and the Crystal Empire will be safe under our protection."

"Why would I do such a thing?" Cadance spat.

The group that surrounded her began to ominously laugh with delight. The laughs sent shivers down Cadance's back, she just froze in shock at the sight and sounds.

Suddenly, a bright beam of magic hits a chandelier from the ceiling, cutting the rope and causing it to fall. Before anyone can react, the crystal chandelier landed right next to the spokespony. Everyone looked at each other with confusion. "Okay, who did that?!" the mysterious pony growled.

Another pony walked into the room. "You should know who I am!" spat the new pony. Cadance turned to see a sight she would have never expected. "The great and powerful Trixie!" she growled as she walked in, her horn glowed bright. "Trixie doesn't know who you mares are, and Trixie doesn't care, because you all mean nothing to me!"

"The same with us!" they immediately fired beams of magic at Trixie, but she proceeded to run off and dodge. Cadance took the opportunity to sneak away and run off to find a guard to help her.

At the badlands, Platinum and Jewel were busy as they got the hot air balloon ready for their flight back to Canterlot. At the same time, Kage looked out at the horizon, the sun slowly rose above it. "Hey!" said Platinum to the dark stallion, Kage turned his head at her. "We're almost ready to leave, mind getting Twilight?". Kage silently nodded and walked off to get her.

Twilight was alone in deep thought, she was worried about her friends, her family and many other things that flooded her mind. She was confused at what to do. "Twi?"

The unicorn turned to see Kage before her. "Kage?"

"We're almost ready to leave Twi, you okay?" he looked concerned.

"Just so much on my mind." Twilight sighed. "I don't even know why I ran off to find you."

Kage looked on with worry. "Twi....you know I meant every single word I said to you, I love you."

The mare looked on with concerned eyes. "I just want to know one thing Kage."

"What is it?"

"What's more important to you, taking back the throne, or me?" she said. It was something she really wanted to know. Was she truly loved? Or just a stepping stone to regaining his lost throne.

"Twi?" he was stunned. "You know that YOU are the most important thing to me, I don't want the throne if it means not having you."

"But what about your other self? What does he think?" continued Twilight, she still had some trouble trying to believe. "I must know. I must speak to him directly to make sure."

"Are you sure about that?" Kage was apprehensive at turning back into that monster again.

"Certain." with that, she placed her horn against Kage's and let her magic do the work.

Twilight soon found herself in a dark and empty world. She felt shivers run across her body as she looked around, only to see a large throne made of dark crystal in the smoky distance. The unicorn walked up to the throne to encounter Sombra himself as he sat on the throne with a board expression, playing chess with himself.

"Sombra?" cautiously asked Twilight.

"Oh hello there, about time I received an audience at my court." he smiled as he threw the chess board away to give his full attention to the mare in front of him. "What can King Sombra do for you?"

"I want to know your intentions Sombra, I want to know if you are just using this opportunity to take back your throne." she explained. She had no time for games.

"You are smart, I'll give you that, and so damn sexy, I am surprised no stallion has gotten to you already." he mused with a smug smile. "You will make the perfect queen for me." the statement sent shivers down Twilight's back.

"What are your intentions!" she stomped her hoof.

Sombra stood up with a smug smile and walked over to the mare. "What's wrong? Didn't our little session at the vault mean anything to you? You are saying that all those times you moaned my name was nothing but-" he was met by a hard slap to the face.

Sombra gave a serious look at Twilight, only to see the mare tearing up. "I...don't...know..." she mumbled with confusion. "My heart wants all of that to be meaningful, but my mind keeps telling me it's all a lie." she looked down in shame. "I feel so used, I feel so ashamed, ashamed of the fact I lost my virginity to a monster like you."

The dark stallion just looked on with worry. "I thought it meant something." was all he said before he sat back down on his throne. "I wanted to give you the whole world and make you the most happiest queen in all of the land."

Twilight looked on with confusion.

"I also wanted to make you the most powerful queen in the world and unlock your true potential. The power that Celestia was too afraid to unleash and forced an unwanted destiny. With my help, I can make you the most powerful wielder of magic in the whole world."

"Even more powerful than Starswirl?" the mare asked.

"Even more powerful than that perverted old man." he confirmed. "You were going to have it all."

"But what about my friends and family?"

"No harm will come to your friends and family, the worst I was going to do with them was exile them far away if they ever refuse to swear their loyalty to me." he explained.

"I don't know..." Twilight was still unsure. Sombra sensed that and with a clap of his hooves, a new throne sprang up that was exactly like Sombra's only purple. It had Twilight's cutie mark engraved on it.

"This throne by my side could be yours." the dark king explained. He clapped his hooves again, to reveal a sign that read "Queen Twilight Sparkle's School of Science, Technology, Engineering and Magic", much to Twilight's shock and awe. "This school could be yours."

"M-My very own school?"

"Your very own school." he confirmed.

Twilight was unsure what to do. But the thought of her being the greatest wielder of magic of all time with her own school that teaches both science and magic as well was all to tempting for the mare.

"Besides," the dark stallion began. "the caribou invading reminds so much of when the Diamond Dogs invaded the Crystal Empire such a long time ago..." his voice trailed off as a viewing portal appearing, showing a normal Sombra with what appeared to be his old marefriend. "...Hikari..." he said upon seeing the portal, his eyes watered from the thought of failing to save her.

Twilight could see how happy the couple was as they walked down the forest, only to be surrounded by a pack of Diamond Dogs in military armor. The young Sombra tried to fight them off but was quickly overpowered, beaten and stabbed. Twilight turned to see the dark king do something that was not possible; cry.

"I'm so sorry...I did what I had to do..." he mumbled with shame. The mare looked at the portal to see Sombra's marefriend get beaten as well by the five Diamond Dogs before they pinned her to the ground and start to gang rape her, all before the young Sombra lost consciousness, ending the flashback.

The dark stallion quickly dried his tears. "Never again...never again..."

"You do want to do defeat the caribou, to bring closure to yourself..." said Twilight. "...to avenge what happened so long ago."

Sombra just walked over to his throne and sat down. "Diamond Dogs, Caribou, they are all the same to me...despite decimating the Diamond Dogs's army, I was not able to kill the ones that killed her, they survived because their king wanted some form of revenge against me should they ever get defeated." he explained. "They lived out the rest of their days mining gems and receiving a hefty veterans pension...they never once got the justice they deserved."

Twilight walked up to the king and placed her face near his. "Yes?" asked a confused king before he was cut off by a tender kiss from the mare. Sombra accepted it and kissed her back.

Twilight suddenly found herself back in the outside world, her lips still locked with the stallion, she quickly broke the kiss only to see that the stallion was no longer Kage, but Sombra himself, complete with red-green eyes and red horn.

"Where's Kage?" asked a stunned Twilight from the change.

"We're one and the same..." was all he said before he went over to the balloon to join Platinum and Jewel. Twilight reluctantly followed him at least somewhat assured of his intentions.

"Sombra?" asked a stunned Platinum to her alternate father.

"No time to talk, we have an army to build." he answered as he boarded the balloon. "We have caribou rumps to kick."

"So where are we going?" asked a skeptical Princess Platinum as she Jewel and Twilight also climbed aboard.

"Canterlot...we need to defend the capital at all costs." the shadow stallion stated.

Twilight was a bit nervous for putting her trust into Sombra, but he's the only hope they have in repelling the upcoming invasion.

Over at the Rangifer Kingdom, all the caribou soldiers prepared for their march to Equestria. Each soldier put on their armor and chain-mail, they also got their flintlock muskets and rifles, pikes and spears.

At the same time, they got their mechanized cavalry fleet ready, a line of motorized bicycles and hovercraft formed at the border gates, awaiting orders to start their march.

Gefroy was giving his troops one final inspection. "Remember men, we are about to enter female dominated territory, what do you in the event that a female tries to brainwash you into accepting their calls for equality?" he asked his unit.

"We silence them with our dicks, sir!" smirked his troops in response.

"And then what?"

"We arrest them and take them away for re-education, sir!" the answered with more seriousness.

"That's what I want to hear, now dismiss!"

The troops saluted Gefroy before they marched off to their positions.

Inside the palace, Dainn watched from his quarters his army getting ready for their march. He carefully put on his armor and chain-mail, taking extra care in making everything look as straight as possible, he not only wanted to look perfect for his crowning moment, but to also satisfy his growing compulsion for order and cleanliness. His ears suddenly perked up when he heard the sounds of whimpering coming from his bed.

A bruised caribou female was curled up on his bed, her body shivered from the abuse she suffered. "Oh please," dryly began Dainn. "you were asking for me to go rough on you, don't deny it." was all he said as he walked out of his chambers without a care. "Females are like children, they never want take responsibility for their actions." he motioned for his servants to take the female back to his harem to be cleaned up and left determined to succeed in the upcoming invasion.

At the same time, Applejack managed to sneak-in into the palace without no one noticing, most of the security distracted by the troop mobilization. She climbed in through the bathroom window and walked out into a corridor. "Now, if ah was a harem, where would ah be located at?" thought the orange mare to herself. "If only ah had a sign to help me." She suddenly looked up to see a sign.

"That's a start, but ah can't read fancy caribou writin'." remarked Applejack. Suddenly, the sign's letters changed into the Equestrian writing system. "What the?!" said a stunned mare as the sign suddenly became readable.

Harem

Applejack quickly assumed that the piece of antler that the nurse gave her and now was carrying translated the text for her. "Mighty convenient if ah say so myself." she mused before she suddenly heard the clicking sounds of a group of caribou's heading her way. Applejack quickly hid behind a potted plant that happened to be nearby.

She peaked from behind to see two male servants taken a badly bruised female who had a face of deep shame. Applejack knew that kind of face from anywhere, it was the face of someone who was sexually violated against their will, she immediately felt her blood boil. "These caribou are no good dirty monsters and they deserve their comeuppance, ah'll make sure of that." she thought to herself as she silently followed behind the group.

"Dash, ah'm comin' for ya, just hold on tight!" she thought, determined more than ever to save her friend from a horrible fate.
