After the pony's of Ponyville started to get things back to normal and Discord was now welcome to come and go as he pleases. Twilight was in her caste caching up on her reading as the door was thrown open by a small purple dragon. " TWILIGHT!!! "
She was surprised to say the least. She had jumped up and fell out of her sit. " Yes, Spike what is it? Has something happen? " As she picked herself up.
" You have a letter from the princesses and its an urgent matter. " She quickly took the letter from him and started to read.
My dearest, Twilight
There is a pony coming to see you. He is a bit odd but he needs your help. He is an old friend of mine, please take care of him while he's visiting and tell me as soon as he gets there. I have not seen him or talked with him in years and it would be nice to know how he is doing. Also if you can try to keep Discord and him from meeting face to face. You can tell Discord that He is coming to see you. Discord will know what I mean. He will be there by mid-afternoon. As he doesn't know about what has happen in these past 14 years he is not up to date on any of the events as far as I am aware of. So to keep a peaceful meeting keep them as far from one another as you can.
From, Princess Celestia
As she finished the letter she had a confused look and turned to Spike.
" Where is Discord? "
He pointed out to Ponyville. " He was at the marketplace a little bit ago. He was helping Fluttershy pick up some things for dinner for all of us tonight. "
She then bolted out the door and to the marketplace. As she made her way down to the marketplace she notices a large pony walking to Surgarcube Corner at first she thought it to be Big Mac going to drop off some apples to Mrs/Mr Cake. As she rounded Bird Street she ran in to someone and flew back off of them.
" I'm so sorry about that I..I'm.. Big Mac? " He helped her up and smiled.
" Eeyep. " She looked at him and turned back to see if what she had seen was a new pony.
" Ooo No his here early. Big Mac can you tell me where Applejack is? "
" What is it Sugarcube? " Twilight look to find her friend coming up with a load of apples on her back. " What for do you need me? Did Discord scare an little filly again by doing that there new trick of his? "
Twilight shook her head and started to explain to her about the letter and everything as the new pony started his way in to Surgarcube Corner.
The door opens as Pinkie Pie in the usual Pinkie Pie way is going around the busy store giving bags out to the ponies, taking Bits and Singing all the while. She then stops and sees the new pony. He looks bigger then Big Mac and is wearing a back scarf. It is a bit old, tattered, and full of things. As she bouces to him, he does not show any sign of emotion.
" Hi there, are you new to Ponyville? Are you one of the Royal Guard sent to your new post here at the Castle? What's your name I'm Panamanian Dina Pie or Pinkie Pie for short. "
He didn't back away like the other guards did when they first came nor did he smile at her. He looked at the little pink pony bouncing around him.
" In the order you that you ask. " He said with a noble hum to his voice and a stance that no pony would make after meeting this much hyperness in one small pink pony before him. " Yes I am new here, No I am not, And I am Peace Bolt. Now that I've answered your questions let me ask one of mine. Where is the new Princess I need to talk with them. "
She stopped bouncing around and look at him in the Pinkie Pie way as she studied him.
" Do you my sister Maud? Or are you an-. " He look at her with a sterned look.-
" No I do not and I need to talk with the Princess that is here. " His voice was not mad or any thing it was peaceful and warm. The others in the store were wide eye at how he was not upset with her or trying to rises his voice louder. At this time Mr. Cakes came over to talk to him but Pinkie was the first.
" Hey how about a Party to welcome you to Ponyville? We can have all kind of stuff like PIN THE TAIL ON THE PONY! "
As the pink pony went on about the party, Mr. Cakes pulled Peace Bolt to the side to talk to him. " She should be at the castle and her name is Princess Twilight. "
He bowed his head and started to walk out the door as the pink pony went to the back of the store to make a cake for the party. He stopped at the door and turned.
" Please tell her I like cherry cake. I might as well get to know some of the ponies around here. I'll be here for a bit anyways. "
He never smiled as he walked out but he did leave a warm peaceful feeling in the air even Pinkie seemed more not like her hyper acting self but calmer and peaceful.
" Now then I'm going to go and see if I can meet him and you go tell Discord to stay at Futtershy's until the Princess comes and talks to him. " Twilight had the plan set in to motion and ready to go.
" Ok Twi but I don't rightly know how that's go'n work. But I'll do what I can to help. Big Mac you go with Twilight and help her I'd feel a lot better if'n you was with her and no buts on that Twi. Just let me have this here. 'kay Surgarcube? "
Twilight smiled and nodded as they turned to Sugercube Corner.
Applejack turned and headed for the marketplace. As She dashed down the street she thought to herself.
Why am I helpin' him out I still don't trust him whatever he gets he's got it com'n. But how Twi was talk'n I'd better get him out of here before any fighting happens in town.
Applejack came to the first stall of the market she looked around to find her friend and Discord. She quickly found them looking at the new tea's in from Trottingham.
" Fluttershy I need's to talk to ya! " Fluttershy jumped from the shock of some-pony yelling at her.
" Hey Shutterfly its just your friend J A. " Discord was helping her up off the ground.
" O...oh. Hey, Applejack. Wh....what is it? " She looking at her friend.
" I need you and Discord to go home an' stay there in-til Twi comes and get ya'll. "
Discord had a confused look as he looked around.
" Why and what for? I've only had a little fun and the kids liked it. See they're still playing with them. "
As AJ looked over where he was pointing she saw the puppets flying around acting out a little play. The puppet's master was confused but was enjoying the little help Discord had given him. As the puppet master walked over he started to talk with Discord.
" Thank you I was running out of story's to tell them and the kids are really enjoying the puppets flying around talking and playing with them. "
Discord Bowed as they parted ways.
" Discord I'd wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it but I see your trying harder and harder at being nicer to the other ponies around you. If I didn't know better I'd say you was trying to be a nice pony. "
Discord was trying and he did make chaos when he could but only in the Ever Free Forest. Zecora was the only pony that knew about it and didn't mind as long as he didn't mess with her home or any thing around it. She'd even join in just to help after he had a bad day.
" I know I did find somewhere I can be myself with out getting others put in a bad spot like what I did to you six. I'm sorry again. " -Fluttershy petted his head.-
" I...its ok we did forgive you and y...you did prompt not to do it again. "
The farm pony looked on with a smile as she remember why she was there for.
" Ok ya'll we need to get now. Discord I'll explain on the way. Shy can we get a rain check on the dinner tonight. "
" I...i..it's o...ok if you can't make it. But. Umm.. My Granddad was coming today anyway to see us all. " As the pink haired pony turned around.
The farm pony was shocked to say the least. " Your granddad is coming today? "
The small pony smiled. " Y...yes he's coming to see me and all my new friends I made here and to see Twilight. His name is.... "
At this time Twilight had talked to Mr. Cakes and seen Pinkie just walking and talking to every-pony in a slower manner.
" Whats with her? " As she pointed at the pink pony.
" I don't know she's not sick but she is mellowed out after a new pony came in. "
Twilight quickly turned to the baker.
" He was bigger then you Big Mac. About your age too. He was really nice even when he was talking to Pinkie. After he left she was like this. Its a bit weird but it is nice to see her so calm. He was an earth pony and he's looking for you. I sent him to the castle to see you, also he had a strange cutie mark. " -Twilight looked at Big Mac.-
" Did he say what his name was? "
The shop pony raised his hoof.
" I think it was Peace Bolt." -Big Mac started out the door with Twilight.-
" Thank you. " Twilight said as they walked out to the street and started to the castle when a streak of bright colors came crashing in front of them.
" Ouchy. " It was a Rainbow Dash trying out a new trick that didn't work and sent her out of control.
" Rainbow are you ok?. " Twilight said.
" Ya, but I don't know if I want to do it again. That is without some pony watching. I almost got it that time too. " She flew up to see if she had hurt anypony or her wings.
" So who was the new guy going to the castle? I think I hit him on my way down. I don't see him though. "
" I don't think you did. " Twilight start to look around with her friend as they looked around a voice came from behind them.
" Well that could have been really bad if you did. I did come here to see you all and my grandfilly. "
All the pony's jumped at the voice and found the one pony they was looking for. Although he said his grandfilly he didn't look older than them.
" H...How did? When did? No pony could've dogged that. " Dash look at the Colt. He didn't have a scratch on him.
" That cutie mark. You must be Rainbow Dash and you with the large red colt you are Twilight and the colt is Big Mac right? " He had a low and kind tone as he looked on that the ponies in front of him.
" Hey how the hay did you know mine and my friends names buddy boy. " As Dash poked at him another voice cried out.
" Stop that Rainbow Dash that's my Granddad your poking. " It was Fluttershy with Applejack and Discord.
" Well there the pony I want to see. How are you my dearest Shy. Has that Discord done anything to upset the town?." He seemed to have a grin from ear to ear when he heard her voice.
" I...I'm doing just fine Granddad. How as the trip? "
Fluttershy seemed very open with the colt and didn't back away when he went to give her a hug. She just smiled and hugged him back. Discord looked more shocked than the others. Watched with an uneasy feeling of outrage.
" Sorry everypony this is my granddad Peace Bolt and he is why I want to have dinner with everypony. " They were all was shocked and confused. As they looked onto them. Discord broke the shocked ponies out of it.
" WHY ARE YOU HERE YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN DEAD LONG AGO?!?!?! " -Bolt looked on at Discord.-
" What are you talking about? How do you know him? " Twilight asked.
" I'll answer all when we get to the caste and answer anything else you want to know. Discord knows me well enough to know if I had came here to fight him I would have had a sword at his neck before now. But with Shy being here I do not dare scare her by doing a thing like that. " As they started to the castle Rarity was at the doors waiting for them.
" What's going on Twilight and who is this handsome colt with you? " -Twilight whispered in her ear.-
" It's a long story and all I can tell you is he's older then you think he is. "
As confused as she was she joined them as they sat down in the throne room.
Bolt was standing as the pony's sat around him. Discord was off to the side looking on as He answered there questions one by one. As time goes on the one question that all the ponies want to know was How did he know Discord? and as for Twilight she had some other ponies to add to it.
"So we get your Fluttershy's granddad, and your older the you look. But really darling how old are you if you don't mind me asking?" Rarity ask with a flick of her hove and a wink.
He looked around at the fillies and took a deep breath. He then looked at Shy who as nodding as to say go on and tell them. He then smiled and exhaled.
"I would tell you but the that would kind tell you how old Discord and not to mention how old the Princesses are. I don't think you would ask a lady her age would you?" As the noble pony said think of a way not to answer this question. He had forgotten how old he was anyways there for he couldn't just tell her.
He seemed to push the question out of Twilight as she remember the letter she had gotten early that day. She turned to Spike who at this time was bring everypony a cup of tea.
"Spike, can you send a letter the the Princess for me? Letting her know that Peace Bolt is here. She want me to let her know as soon as he got here."
On hearing this Peace Bolt jumped up on to all fours with a hast that Fluttershy hadn't seen in some time for him.
"Will Luna be coming too," he couldn't hide his overjoyed look from his face. That he could see his old friend again. "Please! Tell me that I can talk to her again after all this time?"
At this time the little dragon had put the tray of drinks down and pulled out a quill, and paper out then started writing with a smile.
"So you do know the both of them. I reserved a letter today telling me you was coming," she then fly the letter to him, "I didn't know how to take it but I think if we ask Luna that she will come too."
Twilight smiled as she thought to herself. If I ever when some where and didn't get to talk or even see my friends for a long time. Then I wouldn't want to just see one of them but all of my friends too, and to top it off Luna. He must have really miss her or is there something more then his not saying to us?
"Okay, Twilight the letter is ready to go!" The little purple dragon held the letter out the door and exhaled green fire on it. In a magic dust the letter went.
"So, tell me how do you know what's going on around here?" Twilight had asked the colt. He then turned and point a hove to his grandfilly.
"Well I do have her to thank, I do get letters from her from time to time. I also have my magic too. I do check up on her from time to time. Even if I can't pop in to see her," Peace sat back down as he notice there was one pony not there in the thorn room. "Is your little pink friend coming or is she still working on my party to introduce me to the other ponies here?"
End of Chapter 1
Celestia was going through the day's events and as she looked at the last one of the day. A sparkling smoke cloud came from the door and up to her. With the help of her magic she turned the smoke into a letter. As she read the letter she knew it was time to go see her old friend. She walked out to the garden and saw her sister sitting, looking at the roses.
"Luna, can you come here? I think you would want to see this. Also, I need you to come with me somewhere."
Her sister got up and slowly trotted over to her. She just gotten up after she had lowered the moon that morning and she still wasn't fully awake even after being up for an hour.
"Yes, Dearest sister what is it?" Luna said in a sleepy way.
"It is a letter from Twilight that I think you would like to read." Celestia folded the letter to her sister to let her take it with her own magic.
As Luna read through it, she looked up and was confused. "Who is it sister, that is there, wanting to see me of all ponies? The only one there is Discord and I do not wish to see him."
"It is one of the oldest friends we have and the one you thought we lost long ago. But is waiting for you to tell you that there still here. I think you want to see them to." She was trying not to let her know who it was or that it was the one she cried over for weeks.
"Sister I do not want to see them or try to think who it could be. You know the last of my friends passed long ago." Luna started to tear up thinking of all her lost friends that she wouldn't see again.
"I think you need to see this one. I think it will help you more than you think." Celestia smiled down at her sister and wrapped her wing around her. "Now then let us go. It wouldn't be right to let them wait."
"Okay sister, but will you let me stay outside until they come out to see me. I do not want to look so weak as I do now." Luna wiped away the tears that started to fall down her face.
"If it helps you dear sister then I'll move mountains for you." Celestia held her sister as they walk out to the carriage to head to Ponyville.

~Back in Ponyville~
"So we know all this about you but what's in the scarf you have there." A rainbow colored pony asked.
"This? Its just some things I picked up on my adventures around Equestria and beyond. If you want to hear some of them I would be happy to tell you some anytime you have free." The colt was sitting in front of five ponies, a dragon, and a Discord.
"Hmmm...But before then can I ask you all for a favor?"
They looked upon the colt as he pawed the ground. Twilight looked at her friends and saw they all want to help any way they could after all he was family more or less.
"What is it that we can do for you granddaddy?" Fluttershy asked looking concerned for his well-being.
"Well its kinda silly for an old guy like me to say but I need some help telling someone that I've been madly in love with them for a long time."
The girls gasped and none more so than Fluttershy who jumped up and flew over to him.
"Who is it that has stolen your heart and would I have to call her grandmother?" She wanted him to be happy but she also didn't want to share him with somepony else.
"W...Well she stole it long ago and I've never told her. She was gone for so long and she thinks I'm dead." He stopped there and looked down. It looked as if he was tearing up but keep it to himself. "You should all know her. It's-" As he was going to say the doors open as Princess Celestia walked in.
"There's my old friend. How have you been for all these years?"
"I've been better I must say. Although I still think HE should be in stone." He pointed at Discord.
"I see you two are still at it, but at least you two are not fighting like the old days." -At this time Discord had gotten up and turned Peace Bolt's mane from red to pearl white.-
"For somepony of your age I think this color is what you need." As he laughed.
"That's very funny, but I know you could have done a lot more than that. I do see that you are nicer than the last time I saw you and that is because of the friends around you." He stomped his hoof and the color changed back. "But you also forget I know how to turn it back."
"Discord I have some thing I would like to give you for how well you have been." He pulled an old sword out and laid it on the floor."It may have lost its elegance but it still as beautiful as the day I found it. I want you to have it and go in peace. I know you always wanted it. So now you can have it in good faith that it will never be used to harm you."
Discord was really touched by this. He knew how much that it took for him to do that. He pick it up slowly and then tucked it away.
"I...I." Discord couldn't find the words to say.
"I know what you want to say, and I'm happy to say that from today on I will always be your friend."
Celestia looked on as she watch the old enemies become friends, just like she always wanted. Her smile was that of overjoyed sadness.
"Peace Bolt I think there's somepony outside that wants to see you more then I. I didn't; however, tell her that you were here. I hope that is okay."
Peace Bolt started for the door before turning to look at the others that are there.
"I guess it is now or never. I better tell her how I feel this time before I lose her again."
The five ponies jaws dropped as they realized who he was talking about moments ago. Fluttershy wanted to see if it was true or not so she was going to see for herself, but Celestia gently stopped her with a wave of her hoove.
"I think this would be better if we let them be. Its been over a 1000 years after all." She smiled with such a warm smile that Fluttershy just nodded back at her.
Outside Luna was walking around where nopony could see her. She looked up at the night sky. The stars were in the shape of one pony she missed more than her sister.
"I think this was a bad idea for me to have come." Then a voice from her past came forth.
-"But if you didn't then how would that had made you feel."- She looked around to see nopony was there. She then thought it was in her head as she looked back up at the stars. "Yes, your right I would have felt alot worse." She closed her eyes and tried to think of what he would have said to her next. But then there was a hoof around her.
"You know what I always say never have regrets and never let yourself fell worst about something you could have done." - Luna's eyes shot open to see her old friend with his hoof around her.- "The night sky looks better than ever. Hey! what's with the look? I'm really here, Luna."
She grabbed him and gave him a hug as she started to cry that it was him, he was there with her.
"Where were you? You just left me after Discord attacked everypony."
"I'm sorry. He dropped me in a pit and when I got out you were gone too." He held her and then mustard all his might. "Luna I have something I wanted to tell you that day in the garden. Will you hear me out now even though its a little late?"
She looked upon him smiling and nodded. He almost backed out, but then turned as red as his mane.

Back inside there was some questions about how Peace Bolt could do magic.
"He's like me and Discord, we age slower than others, but Peace Bolt ages even slower than Discord and I." Celestia said to the ponies around her.
"As for him knowing magic nopony knows how he does it. He just does. He has more magic than any other pony I've ever seen. But he never uses it unless he needs to. He brings peace and understanding to all that meet him." She shot a look at Discord, who was floating about, with daggers in her eyes. "But his magic never worked on Discord. Not from the lack of trying mind you. For some odd reson he is the only one that it can't affect."
"So he has more power than you and Discord, but how the hay is that? I mean Twilight is now an alicorn for crying out loud." Rainbow said in a harsh tone.
"Please, don't be like that Dash. We all know that the spell I did could only be done by somepony like me. But what she is saying does make sense." Twilight put a hoof to her head and began to think.
Celestia smiled and looked around at the others.
"Well I think I should tell you this and only this. He's not from here or in better words this plain of dimension. He came here to hide form evil in his land and holds a great secret that nopony ever needs to know. You know the legend of the Chalice of life?"
"Ya what about it?" As Dash said trying to be less harsh.
"Well.. He knows how it works and where one can find it. He has only told me that much as to anything else about it I don't know. But he isn't the kind to just lie about something like that." As Celestia looked around she seemed abit off by telling them this. " As of now you are not to say a word about this to anypony or talk about it outside of this place. If you want to know anything more about him you'll have to ask him to tell you. He is not just going to tell you either. So you'll have to be on guard when he does tell you to see if there is anypony else listening." She stopped there as to say nothing more on the topic.

~Back outside~
"I..I...I love you!" His legs about gave way as he looked at the one pony that made him feel that way more than anypony before or than after ever did.
She cried even more before she wrapped him up in a hug that said more than she could.
"I've love you too. I was waiting for you to tell me then you were gone and..and...and I thought I would never hear you tell me.... I found your letters and everything... and... and sis told me that it was me and not her you did all that stuff for... You are not to leave me again you hear me!! Don't leave me like that again. If you do I..I." She couldn't finish she was crying so much. Her friend and the only pony she loved had came back to her. At that time the only thing she could do was hold him tight and cry.
"Luna. I will never leave you again. I'm sorry." He let her cry until she was ready to go in but at the same time all he wanted or needed was right here holding him and him holding her.
She was still crying as they walked back inside.
The others there seen them walking in holding hoofs and her crying all the while. Fluttershy was first to their side to welcome them and give both of them a hug. As the time passed they thought there was only happiness from here on. Little did any of them know that there was more to Peace Bolt's past than old friends.

"Is he there?" A voice from a mirror said.
"Yes, He is here sir. I think we finally have him." Said a pony dressed in black.
"You know what to do. Bring him to me and if anything gets in the way kill it." Relayed the mirror.
The pony in black put the mirror away and looked down upon the town waiting for the time to strike.
"Well its been a long time, but we have you now. Prince Bolt."
