Equestria 2033: A New Order.
What We're Here For
Previous ChapterIn order to get to the stadium area you have to go through either the market area or downtown area, however market area takes longer. When Thunder, Lavender and Crystal get to the edge of downtown they're stopped by a soldier in full combat gear, which only happens when someone, or something, gets shot or stabbed.
"Sorry sir, but you have to go through the market area, downtown is closed off to all civilians." The man said, his name bar read 'Sgt. Metal Fire'
"Okay, well here." Thunder said showing Metal Fire his military ID.
"Oh, a lieutenant, well it says your station is South Canterlot, I'm afraid I can't let you through, but with these credentials I can tell you why, but it must stay between you, me, and your friend." He said nodding to Lavender.
"All right, I kind of figured that honestly. And this is Lavender, my wife." Thunder said as Lavender and Metal shook hands.
"Well, we want this quiet so nobody freaks out, just know that. Some radiated mutant, we're guessing, human and dog like creatures broke in through the drain pipes. No one was hurt, thankfully. We have the situation fully under control though." The Sergeant explained.
"Nosalises." Thunder said under his breath.
"Excuse me?" The Sergeant said.
"Nosalises, after the nukes hit some feral-" He quickly covered Crystal's ears. "-dogs got mutated with some unfortunate humans. How they spread so rapidly is anyone's guess. They're not a problem if they're young or in a small group under 5, anything more and you'll need a lot of people and firepower. Can I take a look at them?" Thunder finished explaining.
"Well, I can't let you see them directly, but I can let you look at the evidence photos." The Sergeant said and then turned to someone else, most likely a Private, and shouted for a picture, then something about a Lieutenant and a couple seconds later the Private brought over a brown file.
"Here, take a quick look and then give them back, we don't want any unnecessary commotion." He said handing the file to Thunder. Thunder opened it and looked at the pictures. A quick second later he told him about the pictures.
"Okay, it seems like only a couple young ones, they aren't much of a threat as long as someone has a gun. How often are they seen?" Thunder asked.
"Only about once a month or so, they have attacked a couple other times, but never got in." The Sergeant said looking back.
"Well, it doesn't seem like they're a major problem so as long as there are some armed guards around I wouldn't fret to much." Thunder explained calmly.
"Alright, hey are you headed to the stadium tonight?" Metal asked.
"Actually, yeah, it's our, what is it now? 7th anniversary, well it was a few weeks ago, but as present for Lavender I told her we could come here." Thunder told him.
"Wow, that's cool. Well I ask because there is a private section for military personnel and friends and family, so just show them your ID and they'll let you in, tell them I sent you. After we get this taken care of I'm headed over there and hopefully we can talk a little more, and on a little better terms." The Sergeant told him.
"I think we can do that." Thunder said shaking his hand. "Alright, see you in a few." Thunder finished.
"Alright have fun." The Sergeant said turning around and heading back to the building. Thunder, Lavender, and Crystal all went to the market area to get to the stadium, but Lavender being Lavender she saw something.
"Wait." Lavender said putting her hand on Thunder's chest.
"Shit, she found something, that's why I wanted to go through downtown." Thunder thought to himself, he actually didn't mind her getting stuff, he just thinks it's funny. Lavender picked up a pair of black strapy wedge flip-flops (http://www.skechers.com/style/36475/cyclers-established/bbk).
"Before you ask, yes you can, here." Thunder said giving her her money.
"That's why I love you, you know me so well." She said taking the money and kissing him.
"See, that's why I'm glad I have Crystal, when you're shopping or whatever I got someone to talk to." Thunder joked.
"Ha ha ha. Very funny." Lavender said paying the girl working the booth. The girl took the cash and said thanks. Lavender grabbed the shoes.
"Umm, I forgot my pack, can I put them in yours?" Lavender asked with her soft ice blue eyes.
"Fucking Hell, fine, just make sure they're not sticking out, that's the last thing I want people to see me with." Thunder joked as he took his pack off a let Lavender put the flip-flops in the small pouch on the outside. He waited until she was done and put his pack back on.
"Thanks sweetie." Lavender said kissing his cheek.
"Yeah, just don't say I never did anything for you." Thunder said with a half smile.
"Never dreamed of it." She said grabbing his hand and walking to the stadium area. Once they got there Thunder looked around for the military section, he quickly found it and walked over with Lavender and Crystal. They walked up to the man standing security.
"I've never seen you here? You new?" The man asked.
"To the military, no. To this Metro, yes." Thunder replied laughing slightly.
"Alright, you got an ID?" The man requested.
"Yeah, here." Thunder said pulling it out of his pocket and handing it to him.
"Wow, a Lieutenant. Are you looking for anyone specific?" The man asked handing Thunder his ID back.
"Actually yeah, a Sergeant Metal Fire." Thunder replied.
"Oh, he's almost always here. He just showed up, I think he's over there." The guard said pointing back a few tables.
"Alright, thanks." Thunder said walking in.
"Wait, I have to make sure. Is your dog trained?" The man asked.
"Yeah, why?" Thunder asked curiously.
"I just like to make sure, it bothers others when a dogs barking or jumping all the time." The guard explained.
"No, she's the silent, cuddling type." Lavender interjected as she was petting Crystal.
"Alright, just checking." The guard said giving them a go ahead wave. Thunder, Lavender, and Crystal walked back and quickly found the Sergeant.
"Hey, you found us, cool, have a seat." Metal said motioning at a couple empty seats. "Oh, this is Private, well that's all he goes by. And this is my brother, Lance Corporal Fire Flare." Metal said motioning to the two guys in MCCUUs as well.
"So Private, are you just quiet or don't like your real name?" Thunder asked.
"Ahh, I just thought it'd be easier for people to remember." He said with a laugh. "So is this your daughter?" Private asked Thunder motioning to Lavender. Lavender looked at Thunder with rosy cheeks.
"Actually she's my wife, Lavender Frost." Thunder said giving him a 'are you stupid' look.
"I call bullshit, she is way to young and cute to be with an old run-down like you." Private said jokingly, everyone knew they were joking so it wasn't bad or anything.
"Feel free to slap the shit out of him anytime you like." Metal said hitting Private.
"Well honestly I'm surprised we don't hear that more often." Thunder said looking towards Lavender who gave him a small kiss.
"You know I'm giving you a hard time right?" Private told him grabbing his glass of what looked to be cheap beer.
"You might want to watch your tone, he's a Lieutenant." Metal said semi-sarcastically.
"Well technically Lieutenant Commander, but it doesn't matter." Thunder said calmly.
"Wait, aren't you Lieutenant Commander ThunderShock?" Fire Flare said firstly.
"Well that is my full title, but I'm not much for formalities." Thunder said reluctantly.
"Holy shit, you're Celestia and Luna's brother!" Fire Flare said leaning back in his chair with a huge grin on his face. Private and Metal were saying stuff like 'bullshit' and 'yeah right' and other stuff.
"No I actually am, but I try to keep that off grid so to speak." Thunder said quietly, but somewhat prouder.
"You are one lucky girl." Private said looking to Lavender.
"As a matter of fact we were together before he was a Lieutenant." Lavender said holding his hand.
"We'll would you like a drink on us?" Metal asked pulling out a cigarette.
"I usually would say no, but I'm thirsty and it is also mine and Lavender's 7th anniversary, well we came here for it, it was about a month ago, but we're saying it's today." Thunder said as he and Lavender sat down.
"Okay, what do you want?" Metal asked.
"Umm, cinnamon whisky and bourbon on the rocks." Thunder told him, pulling out a cigarette of his own.
"Iced tea, lemonade, and vodka please." Lavender said rather shyly.
"Can you handle that?" Thunder said joking. Lavender slapped him lightly and grabbed his cigarette and put it in her mouth.
"Just a quick puff sweetie." Lavender said holding the cigarette out for him to light, he lit it with his military lighter and she took a quick puff and gave it back to him. She blew the smoke out and coughed lightly. "Wow, haven't done that in a while." Lavender told him. While they were messing around Metal was getting the drinks and, unknown to Thunder and Lavender, he was going to have the band they had up there do a shout out and special song. Lavender rested her head on his shoulder and Crystal was sitting in between them and Thunder and Lavender were petting her head. A few minutes later Metal came back with a tray of drinks and handed everyone theirs. After they were drinking and a few more songs played the guy on the main guitar went up to the microphone.
"Alright folks, hope you're enjoying the music, but a few minutes ago a Sergeant Metal Fire told me we have some special guests here tonight for an anniversary. Would Lieutenant Commander ThunderShock and Lavender Frost please stand up?" Thunder and Lavender looked to Metal and the others who were laughing like Hell. They looked at each other and shrugged as they stood up and they smiled as Thunder wrapped his arm around Lavender's waist.
"For those who don't know Lieutenant ThunderShock is the commander of the Equestrian Marines as well as Celestia and Luna's brother. This song is from us, and everyone under your command, as well as those who support our military. Happy anniversary, you two." The guitarist finished as he looked to the rest of the band and started playing "Lost in this Moment" by Big & Rich.
"Thank you, but we're kicking your asses later." Thunder said as he placed his hands on Lavender's hips as she put her arms around his neck and rested her head on his chest and they started slow dancing to the song as a few other couples stood up and joined them. After the song finished the main guy came back.
"Alright, again that was a thank you and congratulations to ThunderShock and Lavender Frost. This next one is a thank you to all the soldiers who have served are serving or have passed on, we all thank you for your service." He finished and nodded to the rest of the bad and they started playing "In Color" by Jamey Johnson.
"At least you're still with me." Lavender said to Thunder.
"You can count on that." Thunder returned. While he and Lavender were still slow dancing the rest of the ones in the military section were standing and cheering. Thunder and Lavender sat down as the other continued. She propped her feet up on his lap.
