The First Flutter
It was late morning, the sun hung lazily in the sky, casting beams of light over Equestria. Sunlight filtered through the curtains into Fluttershy's quaint cottage. Fluttershy, who was asleep, dreamt about beautiful fields and pretty flowers. Well, until a certain rabbit woke her up. Angel thumped harshly on the edge of her bed, waking her up with a startle
"W-Wha?!.. O-oh hi Angel..." Fluttershy mumbled, yawning. She tiredly got up and stumbled into the front room, picking up the rabbit food with her teeth and pouring it into Angel's bowl. Angel, much to Fluttershy's relief, started to eat. She walked into the kitchen and started to make some Chai tea to wake her up. She poured the tea into a small green cup and went over to her chair. She sat down and started to drink. Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. Fluttershy sighed and walked over to the door, opening it to see a smiling Pinkie Pie.
"Hello Pinkie Pie... What do need?" Fluttershy asked calmly
"Oh nothing! BUT, did ya hear what's happening?! The Butterfly Migration~! Your favorite time of the year!" Pinkie Pie bounced around ecstatically, barely able to contain her joy. She knew how much Fluttershy loved watching the butterflies fly over Ponyville
"Oh I bet- Wait. The Butterfly Migration? Really?! I thought it wouldn't be here for at least another month!"
"I guess the butterflies really stepped up their game huh~? Aren't you excited Fluttershy?!"
" Well, um... Yes I am happy that the Butterfly Migration is happening earlier than thought I guess, but why are you excited? You and Rainbow Dash were bored at the last one."
"Because I'm throwing a PARTY! It's going to be 'The Butterfly Extravaganza!' It's gonna have cake, streamers, balloons, and most importantly... BUTTERFLIES!!" Pinkie Pie giggles
"Heh, yes that does sound like something you would do. That sounds like fun Pinkie Pie, when will you hang out the invitations? I can't wait to see what you have done for these"
"Oh! The glue is still drying on a couple so I will hang them out tomorrow! I remembered to make them super sparkly and colorful" Pinkie Pie grinned. Fluttershy did notice some glitter still in her mane from making the invitations
"That sounds delightful, can't wait. When will it be?" Fluttershy asked curiously, she had to get some sort of dress ready.
"It'll be five days from now! So.. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday...  It'll be Friday!"
"Alright Pinkie, I hope you have a nice day. I need to clean up my cottage, goodbye!" Pinkie Pie nods and hops off, singing a tune Fluttershy couldn't understand. Fluttershy closed the door and smiled. She noticed how happy Pinkie was to talk to here.
Fluttershy spent the rest of the day cleaning her cottage, tending to her gardens, and caring for her pets. In the back of her mind she kept playing out what she would do for the party. Five short days to plan.
