//-------------------------------------------------------// A DARK DAY... -by Aurora Steel- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// A dark day //-------------------------------------------------------// A Dark Day Rainbow Dash and Soarin were walking to their special spot in the mountain’s, there was a beautiful rainbowfall, clouds around, and the grass was a soft and bouncy green, the sky was a nice light blue. The smell of rainbowfall was sweet yet spicy. Soarin and Rainbow planned to have a picnic here. All of Rainbow’s friends would be coming as well as Princess Luna and maybe Princess Celestia, if she weren’t too busy to attend. Everyone would be coming along in about an hour, so they had time to prepare. There were a few guards around at the borders and entrances to make sure everything was safe. The guards were present because Royalty, Wonderbolts and The Elements Of Harmony would be there. It was a natural security caution. As always Rainbow Dash and Soarin were wearing armor, it was mandatory for The Elements Of Harmony and Wonderbolts to wear armor (It was mandatory for Wonderbolts to wear armor when they weren’t training or performing). The armor was made so that it was light weight but strong. Rainbow Dash’s armor was cyan with gold lining; she had special armor that covered the bone in her wings, the armor was also decorated with her cutie mark on the chest plate and on the belt. Her Element was in the centre of her chest plate. Soarin’s armor was a sky blue colour with silver lining and he also had special armor that covered the bone in his wings, and Soarin's cutie mark was on his chest plate and on the belt. They also had swords and helmets but they chose not to wear the helmets today because the helmets get really hot under the sun. They're still trying to figure out the problem and fix it. They laid the cakes, pastries, cupcakes and pies out and they sat down on some pillows to wait. Every once in a while Soarin would look over to the pies and lick his lips. He always ended up getting hit in the gut or getting a light slap across the face from Rainbow Dash. After about 20 minutes or so Rainbow Dash spoke up, “uhhh! Why did we have to get here so early?!” Soarin replied with a chuckle, “Because you wanted to get here early.” Rainbow Dash groaned and face palmed, Soarin just laughed more.  Rainbow Dash pulled out a daring doo book and started to read out loud so Soarin could hear as well. Soarin spoke up after about five minutes, "Rainbow can i please get a slice of apple pie?" Soarin looked down at Rainbow Dash with a hopeful look on his face. Rainbow Dash replied,"No Soarin, remember what happened last time? You ended up eating the whole pie and then you threw up." Rainbow Dash made a sick face at him. Soarin started to pout and whimper slightly. Rainbow chuckled and said, "No Soarin, so drop it." Soarin looked at Rainbow with all seriousness, "Rainbow Miriam Dashery if you don't let me have a slice of that pie I swear I will-" Soarin got cut off by Rainbow Dash who put her hands and wings up in the air, "Ok ok! You can have a slice of apple pie just don't go over board." Rainbow Dash smiled weakly. Soarin hugged his girlfriend in almost a death, Soarin almost shouted, "Thanks Rainbow!" He kissed Rainbow's forehead and jumped over to the pie. A minute later Soarin sat down next to Rainbow Dash with a big slice of apple pie and started eating it. Rainbow Dash managed to nick a bit of his slice, but getting a slightly angry look from Soarin. Rainbow just laughed nervously. Rainbow Dash picked up her Daring Doo book and began to read. A figure in a cloak walked over to them and stopped at the edge of the picnic blanket. Rainbow looked up and asked, “Can I help you?” The dark figure spoke, “It seems that you didn’t invite me to your picnic.” The dark figure lowered her hood to reveal Spitfire. Soarin spoke up in the calmest tone he could “We didn’t invite you because the last time we saw you, you hated us.” Soarin stayed calm. Spitfire moved forwards “I hate you because A: Rainbow Dash doesn’t deserve you and B: You didn’t invite me!” Spitfire gave an evil stare that rivaled Nightmare Moon’s. Soarin got really angry really fast, he was about to jump up and tackle Spitfire to the ground, but Rainbow closed her Daring Doo book and put it down. Sighing she stood up and flexed her wings and flew over to Spitfire. Rainbow asked, “Spitfire why cant you be happy for us and just accept that Soarin doesn’t want to be with you?” Spitfire said back angrily, “Soarin should love me not you! You’re a pathetic excuse for a person and you will never be Wonderbolt!” Spitfire smirked. Rainbow Dash was starting to get angry, “Spitfire I will be a Wonderbolt and you can’t stop me! Spitfire go and find someone who is willing to love you!” Rainbow Dash flared out her white wings with cyan tips. Spitfire flared out her white wings with light orange tips, “Why you little” Spitfire stepped forwards and punched Rainbow Dash in the gut. Soarin jumped up and caught Rainbow Dash before she hit the ground. Soarin pointed to Spitfire and yelled to the guards, “Guards cease her!” About five or six guards ran over to Spitfire, they tried to pin her down but Spitfire flew into the sky. All the guards who were able to fly flew after her, Spitfire laughed dementedly. One of the guards managed to grab her left leg and pull her down, with her right leg she kicked the guard in the face and pushed him down to the ground. The guard hit the ground with a ‘Thump!’ his spine snapped. Another guard yelled, “Man down! I repeat man down!” A guard checked the pulse, no pulse. The guard backed away and ran at Spitfire. Soarin yelled to one of the guards, “Guard go and tell Princess Luna or Princess Celestia that they need to stop Spitfire! Go now!” The guard bowed and flew off. One by one the guards were being knocked out or killed. The guards with magic threw rocks and swords at Spitfire, but Spitfire dodged and threw the swords back hitting the guards in the chest or head, blood was spilled everywhere. All of the guards were either dead or severely injured. Spitfire flew down to the ground and landed with a small ‘thump’, she was so demented and she had the stench of death on her. Soarin looked at Rainbow Dash, who gave a small smile and nodded to say ‘I’m ok’. Soarin planted a kiss on Rainbow’s forehead and stood up, he pulled out his sword; his sword was a gold lightning bold with white wings, the handle was Soarin’s cutie mark and at the end was a sky blue topaz. He swung his sword and shot off to Spitfire. They fought for a couple of minutes before Spitfire kicked Soarin’s sword out of his and landed just inches of where Rainbow Dash was sitting. Spitfire crazily swung at Soarin a couple of times. Soarin dodged all of the swings but the last one struck his wing armor and cut through to the bone. Soarin faltered in pain and looked at his broken wing. Spitfire put her sword back in its stock and took the opportunity to push Soarin to the ground. Luckily for Soarin they weren’t too far from the ground but he fell on his left hand so there was a ‘Thump’ along with a ‘Crack’! Rainbow Dash ran over to Soarin and worriedly checked him over. After a moment she hugged him tightly, Soarin returned the hug but only able to with is right arm because his left arm was too painful to move. Rainbow Dash stood up and shot off towards Spitfire. They wrestled around in the air for a while occasionally cutting each other with their armor. Spitfire’s armor was a light orange with a medium blue lining, but she didn’t have the special armor that covered her wings. They also wrestled around on the ground for a bit getting the occasional blow to the face, stomach or chest. There was a lot of grunting, screaming and yelling. They were exhausted and they lay on the ground for a bit. Eventually they stood up. Rainbow Dash stood in the battlefield; there were bodies of royal guards lying around. Facing Rainbow Dash was Spitfire. She was absolutely insane, there were bodies lying around her and she had a demented look in her eyes. The battlefield had a horrible stench of blood and fear. Rainbow Dash flared her wings out and sat down, she draped her wings over Soarin. He was badly wounded, one of his wings was broken, his left hand was also broken, his left ankle was sprained and he kept shivering. Rainbow hugged Soarin and said, “Spitfire is going down! I promise you Soarin.” He smiled and looked at Rainbow, “R…Rain…Rainbow please!” he returned the hug. Rainbow blushed, and kept smiling. After a minute Rainbow got up and folded her wings back in. She stood a few feet in front of Soarin and yelled, “SPITFIRE ENOUGH! YOU’VE LOST ALL READY!” She gave Spitfire a death stare that put Fluttershy’s, Celestia’s and Luna’s stares combined to shame! Spitfire coldly laughed, “Rainbow Dash! I’m not the one who has lost! Prepare to DIE!” Spitfire stomped her foot on the ground and cracked her knuckles. Rainbow looked back at Soarin and said with tears rolling down her face, “I’m so sorry Soarin!” Soarin reached his hand out weakly and said back with tears now rolling down his face as well, “Rainbow I…I LOVE YOU!” Rainbow turned her head back, tears still rolling down her face; she flexed her wings and ran towards Spitfire. Spitfire did the same and ran towards Rainbow Dash! Rainbow was panting with sweat falling into her wounds, she grimaced at the pain and tried to focus on Spitfire. She saw Spitfire pull out a sword out. It was a beautiful sword with orange and light orange down the blade, the handle was shaped into her signature mark and at the end was an orange diamond. It was beautifully made but it was a shame that it was in the hands of Spitfire. Rainbow also pulled out her sword, the blade was shaped into a lightning bolt, and down the blade it was coloured yellow, red and blue. The handle was shaped into her signature mark and at the end was a light blue sapphire. It was a masterpiece and it was a present from Twilight. Spitfire charged once more towards her and Rainbow Dash once more did the same, Spitfire swung her sword at Rainbow and Rainbow Dash parried. The sword fight went on for a while and the whole time you could hear the sound of metal clashing and the occasional scream or cry. Rainbow and Spitfire were completely exhausted and out of energy. Rainbow had to push on she couldn’t let Spitfire win! They both fell down in exhaustion, they were gasping for breath and there were more cuts and wounds on them now. After a while Spitfire stood up and soared into the sky, she made a sharp turn and headed straight for Rainbow Dash. Rainbow Dash saw Spitfire and stood up, she yelled to Soarin, “SOARIN! I'M SO SORRY!” Soarin had enough strength to sit up, he registered what Rainbow said and yelled back, “RAINBOW PLEASE! PLEASE DON’T GO!!!” But it was to late Rainbow shot off and a tear rolled down her cheek, the tear hit Soarin’s cheek and rolled. Soarin himself broke back into tears. Rainbow looked back and saw Soarin, tears rolled down her cheek and a small smile appeared on her face. She knew that even though she was probably going to die she knew that Soarin would be safe! The wind cut into Rainbow like a thousand knives. Her blood stained hair flew wildly in the air. She could smell the blood, tears and fear. Rainbow Dash snapped, she stopped in the air and yelled to Spitfire, "SPITFIRE ENOUGH! I am Rainbow Meraim Dasher  granddaughter to Commander Hurricane, the future Wonderbolt Captain and Element Of Loyalty! I ORDER YOU TO STAND DOWN! Or I will be forced to use my Element!" Spitfire stopped in mid air and smirked, "So your the so called 'granddaughter' of Commander Hurricane? Go ahead use your Element on me! It won't work!" Rainbows Element started to glow and a glow appeared around her hands. Spitfire shot down again and Rainbow Dash flew up towards her.the both screamed Rainbow flew up and broke the sound barrier; she connected with Spitfire and made a Sonic Rainboom. The force projected them back. Soarin looked up at the sky and saw two women falling. He tried to get up but the pain was too much for him to Suddenly The Lunar Princess appeared as if she had timed this, she flew over to Soarin and said confidently, “Good Wonderbolt you have no need to fear, we are here to help.” Soarin remembered what happened, he turned his head back and yelled, “RAINBOW!!!!” She was falling so fast that she broke the sound barrier again. Princess Luna saw her falling and took off towards the falling girl. She used special magic hyper rings to boost her speed. Rainbow was falling for what felt like an eternity. She looked around and saw Spitfire falling as well; she was unconscious but falling slower than her. She looked the other way and saw storm clouds rolling in. Rainbow Dash thought, "I'm sorry mum and dad, girls and Soarin. I love you all and I'm sorry I won't be here anymore. Goodbye..."Rainbow dash looked down at Soarin, a tear fell from her face and she smiled. The Element Of Loyalty closed her eyes for the last time and let the darkness finally after many many years take over. Princess Luna raced towards Rainbow Dash, whilst The Lunar Princess was racing she thought, “Even if I could get to Rainbow Dash the impact could injure us and still kill Rainbow Dash. I could try and slow her fall as much as we can.” Princess Luna thought of every spell that would reduce the impact. A parachute materialized her, a neck brace appeared, multiple impact reduction spells were preformed around her and a magical net materialized under the falling Element Of Harmony. Rainbow Dash hit the ground with a stomach churning ‘THUMP’. Rainbow Dash then flew back into the air and hit the ground again.  Soarin limped as fast as he could over to Rainbow Dash. Every step he took a jolt of pain shot up his left leg. Princess Luna landed next to Rainbow Dash and checked for a pulse. The Lunar Princess sighed in relief and yelled to one of the guards, “Guard go and get the medical team and my sister!” The guard flew off towards the castle. Soarin got over to Rainbow Dash and stopped the sight nearly made him throw up. Rainbow Dash was lying there, there was blood poring down her head and and the gashes, there were cuts all over her face. Both wings were broken and primary feathers were missing, also the wing armor was nowhere to be seen. There was a bad gash where some armor was meant to be. Her left arm was broken and her right arm was dislocated. Also her Right leg was at a weird angle and down her left leg was another deep gash and some armor was broken, cracked and missing. There were cuts everywhere, also her hair and wings were burned and stained with blood. Soarin brushed the burned rainbow hair out of Rainbow Dash’s face and yelled tears coming down his face. He noticed that she was crying. The medical team and Princess Celestia finally arrived and got to work. The Solar Princess made her way over to The Lunar Princess to discuss what happened. Soarin placed his arms under Rainbow Dash and stood up. He cradled her back and forth for a bit. He finally started walking over to the medical team. Spitfire didn’t come out too bad at all. Spitfire only sustained a broken arm, sprained leg, sprained wing, cuts all over and a gash down her neck. Spitfire woke up and looked around. The Demon saw The Solar Sisters, bodies of guards lying around, medics and Soarin carrying Rainbow Dash. Spitfire focused on Soarin and Rainbow Dash and thought, “Damn it, Soarin still loves that pathetic excuse for a human! I will take her out once and for all!” Spitfire growled. Spitfire got up painfully and flexed her wings; her wings were damaged but still able to fly. The Demon started flying over to Rainbow Dash and Soarin. The Solar Sisters noticed Spitfire flying towards Soarin and Rainbow Dash. Princess Luna stepped in front of Spitfire and shouted in The Royal Canterlot voice, “Spitfire we command you stop and yield!” Princess Luna held her hand out in front of her. Spitfire took no notice and kept on flying. The Lunar princess fired a light beam at Spitfire, but Spitfire dodged and flew straight at Princess Luna. The Demon punched The Dark Princess right in the middle of her nose. Princess Luna fell back clutching her nose tears pouring down her face. Princess Celestia rushed over to help her sister. Soarin was carrying Rainbow Dash when he heard someone yelling, he turned his head around and saw Princess Luna crying and clutching her nose. Princess Celestia trying to calm her sister down. He saw Spitfire charging at them. Soarin turned back and tried to limp away as fast as he could. But it was too late Spitfire punched Soarin’s back causing Rainbow Dash to fall again and roll about ten or so feet. Spitfire flew over to Rainbow Dash, grabbing her by the neck she flew up high. Soarin saw Spitfire climbing higher and higher, he yelled with more tears coming down his face, “RAINBOW!” Spitfire pulled out the Element from it place and threw it away. Spitfire then yelled down to Soarin, “SOARIN! Be with me or I drop Rainbow Dash!” Soarin thought for a microsecond and then yelled back, “SPITFIRE! I WILL NEVER GO OUT WITH YOU!” Spitfire dementedly laughed, “Fine have it your way!” Spitfire let go of Rainbow Dash. Princess Luna stopped crying and turned her head around to see Spitfire laughing and Rainbow Dash falling to the ground again. The Lunar Princess stood up and her eyes went white. This time The Solar Sister was really angry, she flew forward about ten or so feet so her Sister would not get injured. Princess Luna commanded in her Royal Canterlot Voice, “CEASE!”  a glow appeared around Rainbow Dash, she stopped falling and was gently levitated into Soarin’s arms once more. The Lunar Princess went on, “Spitfire for your crimes you have been sentenced to Canterlot dungeons for life!” The Lunar Princesses eyes went back to normal and she landed on the ground with a small ‘thump’. Spitfire was levitated into the custody of the guards by Princess Celestia. Spitfire tried to get free; she was kicking and punching. Princess Celestia looked over to Spitfire and let out a small ‘sigh’. The Solar Sister’s horn glowed a light yellow, she pointed her horn over to spitfire and a short beam hit Spitfire in the back. Spitfire’s eyes went wide and she mouth was wide open, Spitfire let a out a small gasp and froze over. The Solar Princess had used a body freeze spell on Spitfire. The Royal Guards dragged Spitfire away. Soarin walked over to the medical team with the unconscious and severely injured Rainbow Dash in his arms. She had tears at the edge of her eyes, Soarin brushed the tears away with a slightly blood stained feather. Soarin got to the medical team; they were waiting with a stretcher. Soarin very carefully laid Rainbow Dash down and he laid her broken arm on her stomach. Soarin waited a minute to see if Rainbow Dash would wake up, but she didn’t. He leaned down and gently kissed Rainbow Dash on the forehead. A tear rolled down his face and hit Rainbow Dash on the cheek. He stepped back and watched as they carefully applied the braces and strapped her down. Rainbow Dash was taken away. The Solar Sisters walked over to Soarin and Princess Luna placed her had on his shoulder plate. The Lunar Princess spoke up after a minute, “Medics take Miss Rainbow Dash and Mister Soarin Skies to the emergency room at The Royal Canterlot Hospital.” The Medics and the Guards bowed. Two of the Medics levitated over a stretcher and put it next to Soarin. Soarin nodded silently and lay down on the stretcher. One of the Medics placed a neck brace over him and a couple of other braces. The other one strapped him down and moved him over to Rainbow Dash. Soarin reached a hand out and held Rainbow Dash’s. Soarin turned his head and looked at Rainbow Dash for a minute. Eventually he turned his head back and looked up at the stormy skies. Soarin sighed and a tear rolled down his face. He finally let the darkness take over. The storm clouds finally let the rain rush out of the clouds. The rain drenched everything and everyone. The Solar Princess stepped forward. Princes Celestia said in her regal voice, “Medics and Guards take them away. Hurry I fear that Rainbow Dash doesn't have a lot of time left!” The Guards and Medics bowed and flew off.
