//-------------------------------------------------------// Just a Crush -by OmniWriter- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1: The Decision //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1: The Decision It was just another average day in the wonderful town of Ponyville. The Pegasi were clearing all the clouds in the sky. Everypony was enjoying the delicious treats at Sugar Cube Corner. There was something different about today. Twilight Sparkle was researching some new spells in one of the books she found around the library. Everything was going fine until there was a huge "crash' coming from the kitchen. Rushing to the source of the noise she sees something very shocking. Spike was laying on the floor surrounded by shards of what seems to be broken glass plates. The pieces of glass were surrounded in Twilight's magic aura and levitated away, making a path from her to the dragon. She rushed over to his side and started softly nudging his arms as she said "Spike? Spike, are you okay?" Just then, Spike's eyes slowly started opening as he sat up. "Yeah, I'm ok," he said rubbing the back of his head. With a sigh of relief, Twilight calmed down a little bit before continuing. "Spike, what in Equestria happened in here?" "Well, you seemed so focused on that book you were reading I decided to make you some lunch so you didn't have to get up. Then when I reached for the plates I must have fallen asleep and fell." Twilight now had a warm smile upon her face as she wrapped her hooves around the dragon in a hug. "I'm so glad that you're okay Spike. And thank you for trying to make me some lunch, but you should really get some more sleep." "What? No way Twi. I have to be here for you when you need me for something." Spike stood in a very proud and goofy looking victory-like pose. As Spike walked out of the room to fetch the broom and dustpan, Twilight couldn't help but feel a little worried about Spike's well being. For a few days now, Twilight has noticed that Spike has been overworking himself lately. "I have to think of a way to get Spike to relax, but still be able to do his work." Twilight thought to herself as she paced around the center of the library. When all of a sudden, what she believed was a perfect idea, just popped into her head. "Spike, can you come here for a second? I need to talk to you." Twilight yelled to the dragon that was out of her sight. In a flash, Spike dashed down the stairs and stopped right in front of Twilight. "Is this about the paint in your shampoo?" Spike asked in a worried tone. Twilight raised an eyebrow in suspicion "You put what in my-" "Nothing!" Spike quickly said cutting her off before she could finish what she was going to say. "Anyways," Twilight continued. "I was thinking that you have been cooped up in the library for a while," she said. "And?" Spike said with an impatient tone to his voice. "And, I was thinking that you should be out in Ponyville more often. You know, meet some new ponies, make some friends of your own". "I don't like where this is going." Spike quietly muttered under his breath. Lucky for him it was quiet enough so that Twilight couldn't hear him complain. "So I'm sending you to school with all the other kids!" She said excitedly and giving a little squee. While Spike, on the other hand, was just standing there like a statue with a frozen shocked expression on his face as Twilight bounced around him. After a few minutes of silence, Spike regained consciousness and switched from a look of total shock to one that said: "Are you serious?!" "But Twilight I can't go to school," said Spike. "Oh really, well why not?" Twilight said with a little confusion in her voice. Spike didn't need to think of what he was going to say. "Well first off I'll be the only dragon in a school full of ponies. Don't you think that will be a little, weird?" he asked. Twilight gave a small chuckle before responding "I know you might look different from them, but you're just like a pony on the inside. You'll fit in just fine once they get to know you.". Spike facepalmed himself in a motion of anger. "Just like a mother," Spike thought to himself. "Always prepared for what I have to say. Most of the time." "I also don't know anypony there and you know I get a little nervous when it comes to meeting new ponies," Spike said shivering a little bit at the end of his sentence. Twilight just rolled her eyes at Spikes comment. "Oh come on Spike don't be silly. Applebloom, Scootaloo, and Sweetie Belle go there and you know them." Before Twilight could continue, Spike quickly interjected. "Yeah I know, but I don't really know them that well. After all we never really hung out or just talked. I mean the last time I talked to them was to let them know that you girls weren't coming to their play. Oh, and by the way, they were a little upset about that." Twilight was having trouble thinking, but after a few seconds, she had thought up the perfect comeback. "This will be perfect for you to get to know them," Twilight said with a warming smile. Spike knew that when it comes to Twilight and school she just won't stop until she wins. Spike sighed and decided that it was time for him to admit defeat. "Fine Twilight if it means that much to you, then I'll go to school." Twilight jumped with glee and hugged him, which caused the young dragon to flinch before returning the hug. Twilight looked out the window and noticed that the sun was already going down. "You better get to bed Spike, your first day of school starts tomorrow." Spike just gave her a slight nod before heading up the stairs. Once he was in their bedroom, he immediately flopped onto his bed and closed his eyes. Before Spike fell asleep he thought of what it would be like going to school and making new friends. He then just forgot that thought telling himself "I'll find out soon." After a couple of minutes, Spike finally started to fall asleep. As he was about to enter a peaceful world full of wonders known as his dreams he thought of one more thing. "This will probably be the last one I'll ever have." Author's Note Hey guys this chapter was just to inform you about what happened before Spike went to school. I hope you guys like my story and be sure to write down in the comments of what you think about the story. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2: First Day //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2: First Day It was early in the morning in the peaceful town of Ponyville. Celestia's sun had just come up to light up the day. This morning was a very special one indeed. This morning was full of peace and quiet almost like you can just close your eyes and sleep forever. Nothing could ruin this morning. "SPIIIIKE!!!" Except for that. Spike shot up out of his bed and fell down onto the pony statue in the middle of the library. Spike slid down the statue onto the floor like a pile of goo. "Spike what are you doing you're going to be late!" said Twilight Sparkle in her usual worried tone. The dragon got up off the floor and rubbed his head, hoping the pain would go away. "Late?" Spike finally spoke "Late for what?". Twilight faced-hoofed herself. "Your first day of school." Spike's posture changed from straight to slouching after hearing what Twilight had just said. "Oh yeah, that," said Spike. Twilight's horn lit up as she levitated a backpack and hoodie over to where the dragon was standing. Twilight had bought Spike a saddlebag for him, but since he wasn't a pony it wouldn't stay on. So Twilight took it and the dragon over to Rarity to see if she can fix it for him. Rarity did so as promised and even made the hoodie for him in case he got cold. Suddenly the young dragon was also being levitated by the alicorn so that she could get him ready in a hurry. "Wo, hay, what are you-" Spike couldn't finish his sentence as he was plopped onto Twilight's back. The next thing the dragon knew they had just run out of the door of the library. "Twilight you need to calm down a little bit," Spike said as he pinched his fingers close together to show a point. "Sorry Spike, but I don't want you to be tardy on the first day," Twilight said picking up the pace. Spike was now bouncing on Twilight's back as she kept running. "So who's going to help you around the library while I'm gone?" Said the purple dragon while still trying to stay on the speeding mare. "Don't worry Spike, Owlicious will be helping around the library. It'll be fine, all you have to worry about now is school." Twilight gave Spike a reassuring grin. Spike gave her a smile back. "You're right Twi.". All of the sudden Spike was sent flying face-first into the ground. "Oops. Heh, sorry about that Spike." As the dragon got up and dusted himself off, he gave an angry glare towards the purple alicorn princess. To get out of there as quickly as possible, Twilight looked down at her hoof as if it had a watch on it. "Oh, would you look at the time. Gotta go bye." Twilight said as she started to gallop off in the direction they had just come. "Have a great first day at school." Spike turned around and saw the schoolhouse in front of him. "Let's hope so," Spike said to himself as he walked towards the building. "-so Rarity really made ya wear that dress for eight hours?" Applebloom asked. "Yeah, and the worst thing is that she wouldn't even let me talk. She said that any noise would make her lose her concentration or something like that." replied an annoyed Sweetie Belle while waving her hooves in the air. Scootaloo shivered at the thought of wearing a poofy dress like that for that long. "Can we stop talking about this girly stuff for a second so that I can tell you what I did this weekend?" "Uh, ok Scootaloo what did y'all do?" Applebloom said gesturing to her friend. Scootaloo gained a very large grin on her face. "You'll never believe it, me and Rainbow Dash-" Suddenly the classroom door opened revealing the teacher, Ms. Cheerilee. "Alright everypony sit down so that we can get started," she said as she walked to her desk. All the colts and fillies did as they were told and sat down. Sweetie Belle was the last to her desk and as usual, she heard the words "Blank flank" repeated in singing like a manner. Those were coming from the school bullies Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon. "Ah, when are they gonna quit doing that?" Sweetie Belle thought as she rolled her eyes. "Alright, class today I have some very exciting news. We have a new student joining us today. Now, without further adieu I would like you all to meet-" Cheerilee said pointing at the door. The doorknob wobbled a little bit before the door slowly swung open revealing the figure. "-Spike." she finished. "Spike?" the CMC (Cutie Mark Crusaders) said in perfect unison. The CMC couldn't believe that Spike, of all ponies (or in this case, dragon), would be the new student. The dragon was wearing a blue hoodie with yellow lines for the pockets, wrists, straps, and the center. He had the hood over his head almost completely hiding his face. The zipper on the hoodie was zipped up, but only to his chest. He was also carrying a backpack that matched the color scheme on his jacket. He was carrying it with just one strap instead of both of them. The hood was also pushing down the spikes on his head and one was hanging over the top of his right eye. Spike looked up at all of the ponies in the room looking a little nervous. "Uh, hey." That was all Spike could think of saying at the moment. "Well, Spike why don't you tell us a little about yourself." Ms. Cheerilee said giving him a reassuring smile. "Oh, right. Um let's see, well I work at the Ponyville Library, I write and send letters to Princess Celestia, oh and I also like helping my friend Twilight Sparkle." Everypony in the class didn't say anything for a few seconds until Cheerilee cut in. "Well thank you for that Spike. Why don't you take your seat." Spike looked at her for a second and then just nodded and started walking to his desk in the back of the class. Along the way over he noticed that the other students were either whispering about him, staring at him, or just not making any eye contact. Once Spike got to his desk he tossed the backpack on the side of it and slowly sat down. "Alright everypony now let's start class." said an enthusiastic Cheerilee. All of the students cheered after hearing that. Well except for two. One, of course, was Spike who just looked gloomy. The other was a certain unicorn filly with a white coat and green eyes. Sweetie Belle's head was turned to see the young dragon in his current state. She couldn't help but think: "What's wrong with Spike? I don't think he has ever acted like this before. I hope he's ok." The second to last bell rang letting everypony know that it was time for the last recess of the day. All of the colorful ponies were laughing, playing, and having fun. Some were playing tag, hide and seek, playing on the playground, or just running around in the grass. Every single pony was having fun outside. All except for Spike. The young purple dragon was just sitting under a tree in the shadows drawing something in his notebook. The other ponies didn't bother asking him if something was wrong, they just kept doing what they were doing. Only one pony was paying attention to him. "Hey, Sweetie Belle, what're ya doing. Y'all said ya were gonna play with us" said Applebloom in an annoyed tone in her voice. "Yeah, what gives," Scootaloo added as she walked to Applebloom's side. Sweetie Belle took her eyes off of Spike and faced her friends. "Oh, um, I was just concerned about Spike that's all." She said sheepishly. Scootaloo and Applebloom shifted their attention over towards Spike, finally noticing him. "Well now that ya mention it, he doesn't seem to be his normal self." Scootaloo just waved her hoof. "I'm sure he's fine so let's just leave him alone." Scootaloo and Applebloom rushed over to the swing set leaving Sweetie Belle behind. She didn't know why, but she doesn't like seeing him this way. She decided to go over to him to see what was wrong. As she got up off the ground she started walking towards Spike's direction. She started getting closer and closer to him until she was right next to him. Sweetie Belle couldn't think of anything to say except for these simple words. "Um, hi Spike." Spike turned his head to face the filly in front of him. His hood was still over his head, but she could see his eyes. "Oh, uh, hi Sweetie Belle. What are you doing over here." Sweetie Belle was starting to get a little nervous. "I-I saw you over here by yourself and, well, I've noticed that you haven't been yourself all day today." She tried her best to keep eye contact, but she couldn't help but look away a few times. "Well it's just that I don't know what it's like to going to school and having friends. I'm just a little shy when it comes to this kind of stuff." Sweetie Belle walked a little closer to him and sat down beside Spike. "But we're friends, aren't we?" Spike's head shot up as he looks at Sweetie Belle. "Wait, we're friends?" Sweetie grew a warm smile on her face and some confusion in her mind. "Of course we're friends Spike. Why wouldn't we be?" "Well, it's just that we never really hung out or anything." "Well, that's probably because I'm usually crusading with Applebloom and Scootaloo." Then suddenly Sweetie got a great idea in her head. "Hey how about you join the Cutie Mark Crusaders!" Spike just stared at her in disbelief. "But I can't get a cutie mark. I'm a dragon, not a pony." "It doesn't matter if you're a dragon, Spike. Besides we do other stuff that's not cutie mark related." Spike just stared at Sweetie Belle for a few seconds not knowing what to say. "Sweetie Belle I don't know what to say other than thank you." Spike leaned forward and wrapped his arms around the young filly in a soft hug. Sweetie Belle blushed from this before she returned the hug. "Uh, heh, no problem Spike." "DING DONG DING DONG!" The final school bell had just rung, letting the students know it was time to go home. "Wow that was faster then I thought it would be. Well, I better get home to Twilight. See ya Sweetie Belle." Just before Spike left he was stopped by a hoof on his shoulder. He turned around to see that it was Sweetie Belle. "Uh, Spike I was wondering if you would like to join me, Applebloom, and Scootaloo at the Sugar Cube Corner on Saturday." As she said this she didn't make any eye contact and shuffling the ground with one of her hooves. Spike was a little confused by this he agreed to it anyway. "Uh, sure Sweetie sounds like fun." At that moment Sweetie Belle's mood completely changed from nervous to excited. "Okay Spike see you later." She said as she waved a hoof goodbye. "See ya." At that, the two started heading for their separate locations. "Sweetie Belle where were ya?" Asked a worried Applebloom. "Oh, I was just talking to Spike." The other two fillies couldn't believe their friend right now. Applebloom and Scootaloo both had the same exact sly smirk on their faces. Applebloom walked up to Sweetie Belle. "Wow Sweetie Belle, he's here for one day and y'all are already putting the moves on him." Sweetie Belle's cheeks were turning from their normal shade of white to a crimson red. She didn't know what Applebloom was doing at the moment, but she didn't like it at all. Scootaloo also decided to join and have a little fun too. "So did you ask him out yet or did you two already kiss?" Sweetie Belle was now blushing to the point where it was covering her entire face. "W-w-what are you guys t-talking about? Spike and I are just friends. I don't like him that way." The other two fillies fell down to the ground and started laughing hysterically at their friend's reaction. Scootaloo was the first to get up and wrapped her hoof around Sweetie. "Hey, don't worry about. We were only messing with you." Applebloom was now up and not laughing anymore either. "So what did ya talk about with Spike?" "Well, I asked him if he wanted to become a Cutie Mark Crusader and he said yes," Sweetie said with a smile. "All right another member for the Cutie Mark Crusaders. This is gonna be so cool." Applebloom said while rapidly tapping the tips of her hooves to the ground. "Yeah what other club has a fire breathed dragon as a member? Oh yeah, just ours." Scootaloo said with a very smug look on her face. Scootaloo and Applebloom both high hoofed and continued on their way to the clubhouse. "Oh, and I also told him that he could come with us to the Sugar Cube Corner on Saturday." "Good idea Sweetie Belle. That way we can get ta know more about him," said Applebloom. "Hmm, let's see here if I think really-" Twilight was interrupted by the sound of the library door opening. She turned to see who it was. She was very happy to see that it was her number one assistant Spike. "Hey, Spike how was your first day of school?" Spike tried to think of how he could sum it up. "Well I was a little shy at first, but at the end of the day I was feeling better." Twilight raised an eyebrow at the dragon. "Really? What put you in a good mood?" "Well, I was sitting next to a tree when Sweetie Belle came up to me and told me that we were friends." After hearing what Spike had just said, the alicorn gave him a face that said: "I told you so." "See Spike I told you that she was your friend." Spike just rolled his eyes knowing what she really meant. "I know, I know. I should've believed you in the first place. Anyway, she invited me to come with her to the Sugar Cube Corner this Saturday." "Well, I'm very happy for you Spike." Spike gave a very small, but slightly loud yawn. "Well, I'm gonna go take a nap. I am so tired after today." "Well ok, Spike. I'll wake you when It's time for dinner. Ok?" "All right Twi you do that." The young dragon-headed to his bed and fell asleep almost immediately. As Twilight went right back to practicing her new spell, she couldn't help herself from giggling. "Spike and Sweetie Belle sitting in a tree K.I.S.S.I.N.G." Author's Note Well everyone post your comments down below to tell me what you think so far. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3: Spike's Love Song //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3: Spike's Love Song It was now the last day of school for the week. Spike had only started on Monday and he's now starting to like the idea of going to school. After the talk he had with Sweetie Belle he started hanging out with with the Cutie Mark Crusaders. They played games, worked together on group activities, and ate lunch together. That started when they realized Spike was eating alone, so they asked him to join them for lunch. Spike was so much happier now than he was when he first came here. If it hadn't been for Sweetie Belle, Spike would still be in his shell. But now he finally had that special something he was always missing in his life. He had friends. Spike was rolling back and forth in his bed trying to get comfortable, but nothing. He decided to get up and move around until he could go back to sleep. As he was walking he ended up next to the door to the porch. The dragon stared at the door for a few seconds and just shrugged thinking "Eh, why not." He grabbed his hoodie and started putting it on as he walked back to the porch door. Once he finally got his hoodie on he grabbed to door knob, opening and closing the door. Making sure he didn't wake up Twilight in the process. He walked onto the and went over to the ledge putting both his arms on them. He started moving his head up to look up at the night sky. He watched as all of the stars twinkled in the night giving off calming signals to the young dragon. Spike couldn't help but sigh at the beauty he was witnessing. "Spike?" The dragon flinch at the sudden call of his name. He turned around to see the lavender alicorn standing in the doorway. "What are you doing out here? Don't you know how late it is?" Twilight said as she was rubbing her eyes. Spike didn't answering her question, instead he just stood there, still looking up into the sky. Twilight was confused for a second, but then a sense of understanding came to her. She walked over to the dragon and put her left hoof onto his shoulder. "Couldn't sleep again, huh?" Spike still didn't speak. All Twilight got from him was a slight nod of his head. "Listen Spike, I know it's going to be hard to get used to this, but I know you can do it. You're the one who saved the entire Crystal Empire from King Sombra. This is just a bump in the path. You can choose to do one of two things." Spike looked at Twilight with interest in his eyes. "You can let that bump in the road be a giant boulder blocking your way. Or you can make it a little pebble and just walk over it." Spike thinks he understands what she's saying, but is still a little confused. Twilight notices this and continues. "Remember Spike the path isn't the one making you. You're the one whose is making the path. It's up to you to decide whether you keep moving down that path or stop. Just think about it Spike." With that Twilight started walking to the door. "Uh, Twilight?" Spike finally said stopping the alicorn in her tracks. She turned to the dragon who had a warm smile on his face. "Thanks." Twilight gave the young dragon a smile back. "You're welcome Spike. Now you should get back to bed. You have a fun day planned tomorrow." Twilight said as she walked back into the library and into bed. Spike on the other hand looked at the night sky one last time and then went back inside as well. "CRACK, HISS, DUNG DUNG, (JACK HAMMER NOISE)?!" "It's eight o'clock on a Saturday morning. What could Rarity be doing at a time like this." Sweetie Belle started shifting from side to side on her bed. Covering her head with a pillow. Nothing was working. She couldn't block the noise when going into her ears and she couldn't sleep because of the noise. "That's it Rarity I had enough of all this noise! How is anypony suppose to sleep when you're keeping all of Equestria awake!" Sweetie Belle slammed open her bedroom door and headed towards Rarity's private bathroom. As she knocked on the door with all of her strength, she heard the door behind her open. Rarity walked out of the bathroom wearing a bathrobe and a towel on her mane. "Sweetie Belle! Would you be so kind as to keep it down. I swear you probably woke up everypony in Ponyville." Sweetie couldn't believe what her big sister just said. "Me? You're the one with the construction site in the bathroom." Rarity just smiled and chuckled at the little unicorn filly. "Well Sweetie the neighbors won't be mad at me, because I only make noise for one reason. Beauty!" Rarity struck a pose at that moment throwing off her towel and robe at the same time. To the filly's surprise her coat and mane were already dry. "Now If you will excuse me Sweetie, I must get breakfast started." Rarity headed down the stairs of the Carousel Boutique. "How would you like your eggs." After hearing her sister's voice Sweetie Belle regained consciousness. "Oh, can I help make breakfast too." "NO!" The sudden burst out from Rarity caused the filly to give her a look of confusion. "Oh, I-I mean no thank you Sweetie that won't be necessary. I can handle it by myself." Rarity hoped that that her sister would buy her obviously fake excuse. "Oh, ok." "And sold." Rarity thought to herself as she continued walking to the kitchen. Sweetie Belle however went back into her room to wait for the food to be done. She just laid down on her bed looking up at the ceiling. When Sweetie Belle was about to drift off to sleep she got off her bed and headed downstairs. Surprisingly the food was done when she got to the kitchen. She sat down at the table and enjoyed her sisters sunny side up with toast. The eggs were so chewy, but had an interesting taste to it. The toast perfectly cooked to a golden brown without any burns on it. "Rarity you really out done yourself this time." The enthusiastic filly said spitting crumbs on the table. Rarity looked at Sweetie Belle, then down at the table with her usually disgusted expression on her face. Rarity used her magic to levitate a cloth and spray bottle over to the table. "Well thank you Sweetie, but you should really stop talking with your mouth full. It is very unladylike like" She said as she continued cleaning the table. Once she was done she looked at Sweetie Belle and levitated a napkin to her muzzle, rubbing it with extreme force. "Rarity stop it!" The filly scream as she resisted her sister's cleaning. "Oh but Sweetie Belle just look at you. Your face is so filthy." "I don't care, I can clean myself you know." Sweetie Belle left the kitchen with a huff and headed towards the front door. "Sweetie Belle," Rarity interrupted "Where are you going?" The filly turned around to her sister. "I'm going to Sugar Cube Corner with the other Crusaders and Spike." Rarity was surprised, but interested about the mention of the dragon's name. "I'm sorry Sweetie, but did you say that Spike was joining you?" Sweetie looked at her sister with a confused expression on her face. "Uh, yeah. Why?" "Oh, nothing. Have fun." Sweetie Belle was confused by her sisters actions, but just shrugged it off. With that she went off to meet up with her friends. Rarity was now thinking of Sweetie Belle and Spike on a little date. She giggled like a little school filly with a large smile upon her face. "Aw, they would make such a cute couple." Applebloom and Scootaloo were outside of the Sugar Cube Corner awaiting their other friends. "Hey girls." The two fillies turned around to see Sweetie Belle come running up to them. "Hey Sweetie Belle." The two said in almost perfect unison. As the unicorn filly slowed down in front of her friends she noticed someone missing. "Hey where's Spike?" The other two just shrugged for an answer. As if on cue Spike came into view of the three fillies. The dragon was wearing his blue and yellow hoodie, but his hood was down and his spines were up again. He came down the dirt roads of Ponyville riding on a skateboard that had the same color scheme as his hoodie. The dragon couldn't help himself by grind the bridge, ramp off a table, and did a little three-sixty in midair. When he landed he stopped perfectly in front of the fillies. He kick his board in the air and caught it in his hand. The Crusaders just looked at Spike in amazement after seeing what he had just done. Spike turned his attention to the fillies that were standing before. "Sorry I'm a late. I over slept and when I realized what time it was I grabbed my board and rode it to get here quicker." Scootaloo was the first one to snap out of her trance and a huge smile grew on her face. "Wow! That was awesome! I mean that was Rainbow Dash awesome! Since when could you do that?" Spike thought for a second thinking "Where did I learn how to do that?" The dragon just shrugged it off. "I guess I learned it without even knowing." Spike chuckled a little rubbing the back of his head with his free hand. Once Applebloom snapped out of her trance as well she interrupted the two's conversation. "How bout y'all talk bout it while we're inside." The two agreed and they all headed inside to continue their conversation. Sweetie Belle on the other hand was still just standing there, lost in a daze. "Sweetie Belle ya comin." Applebloom called from the inside of the building. The filly finally snapped out of it and started walking through the front doors as well. The four kids were sitting at there table sipping from their milkshakes. When Spike stopped drinking he turned his head to see a bunch of ponies sitting in one part of the store. "Hey what's going on over there?" "Over where?" A pink earth pony popped out of nowhere and almost caused the four to fall off their chairs. "Uh, Over there." Pinkie turned her head around to see were dragon was pointing. A huge smile appeared on the mare's face as she turned back tot he dragon. "Oh, that's the Super Duper Karaoke Party!" "The super duper what?" Spike asked not understanding what the pink mare was talking about. "Karaoke Party! It's really fun you should try it Spike." The dragon seemed to be a little worried about what Pinkie Pie was talking about. "Well I um, I'm not really good at singing and it's been a while since I played guitar," "Wait you play guitar?!" Pinkie was now right in Spike's face. "Oops. Forgot that karaoke doesn't need ponies to play music." Spike thought to himself. Before He knew it the pink mare grabbed and brought him to the stage. She then shoved a guitar into his claws and walked of the stage. "Wait Pinkie I," Spike was interrupted by the turning on of the spot light and everypony's eyes were now glued on to him. Spike just stood there in front of the starring crowed of ponies. He hadn't sung in a while and definitely haven't played the guitar in who knows how long. Spike doesn't really know a lot of songs he can play or know all the words to. So he decided to do the first song that came to his mind. He started tuning the guitar until they were in the correct tone for the song. After taking a few deep breathes, calming himself down, and clearing his throat he began. (Can't Fight This Feeling: Glee Version) I cant fight this feeling any longer And yet I'm still afraid to let it flow What started out as friendship, has grown stronger I only wish I had the strength to let it show And even as I wander I'm keeping you in sight You're a candle in the window On a cold, dark winters night And I'm getting closer than I ever thought I might And I cant fight this feeling anymore I've forgotten what I started fighting for Its time to bring this ship into the shore And throw away the oars Baby, I cant fight this feeling anymore Everypony in the restaurant were in awe at what they were all hearing. Even the Crusaders were surprised at the dragon's talent. Sweetie Belle was the one that was the most interested with the dragon's song. She had never heard anything like it before in her entire life. Even though she hadn't lived for a long time, but that didn't matter right now. All of the sudden Sweetie Belle's glare turned from one of interest to one of relaxed. Even her forelegs folded on the table so that she could rest her head down while listening to the hypnotic spell that is Spike's song. My life has been such a whirlwind since I saw you I've been running round in circles in my mind And it always seems that I'm following you, girl Cause you take me to the places that alone Id never find And even as I wander I'm keeping you in sight You're a candle in the window on a cold, dark winters night And I'm getting closer than I ever thought I might And I cant fight this feeling anymore I've forgotten what I started fighting for Its time to bring this ship into the shore And throw away the oars, forever Cause I cant fight this feeling anymore I've forgotten what I started fighting for And if I have to crawl upon the floor Come crashing through your door Baby, I cant fight this feeling anymore. Everypony started to applauded for the young dragon, followed by a couple of whistles and cheering. Spike looked down at the roaring crowd of ponies, and was surprised that they actually liked his song. He then got up off the stool he was sitting on, took a few bows and headed pack to his table were the Crusaders were in awe. On the way he was giving a couple of ponies hoof bump. He was almost at the table ,but he stopped and turned to his right seeing Pinkie Pie next to him. Spike figured that this would be the best time to give her pack the guitar she gave him before he went back to sit down. Once she saw Spike coming closer to the table, Sweetie Belle snapped out of her trance and quickly stood back up. The dragon finally made it back to the table and took a sip of his milkshake. He pocked one eye open seeing Applebloom and Scootaloo just starring at him. After swallowing what he had in his mouth he raised an eyebrow at them. "What?" Spike said in a confused tone. "That was amazing! I never knew y'all could sing like that." Applebloom said while waving her forelegs in the air. "Yeah, and you rocked on that guitar. I never even knew you played guitar." Said Scootaloo. Spike did his best to be modest so that he wouldn't get a big ego. "Well I wouldn't say that I was that good." "Are ya kiddin me, y'all were fantastic." Applebloom interrupted the dragon in mid sentence. "Hey I bet if you could get a cutie mark it would be something musical related." Scootaloo said even more exited than usual. Spike looked pass the two fillies to see one hiding her face in her mane. "Hey Sweetie Belle is something wrong?" Spike said concerned about about the unicorn filly. Sweetie Belle shot up in shock and tried to act like everything was normal. "Oh no I'm perfectly fine." Giving the three a really big smile trying to prove that she was telling the truth. Lucky for her they bought it. The three fillies and dragon were walking out of Sugar Cube Corner when they saw what time it was on the Ponyville Clock Tower. "Aah horse feathers, I gotta get back home ta help Applejack with the apple buckin. See y'all later." Applebloom waves her hoof as she started walking the direction to her home. "Yeah, and I have to get back home to help my mom with her plants. Catch you guys later." Scootaloo hopped on her scooter and road it in the opposite direction that Applebloom went leaving Sweetie Belle and Spike alone together in the middle of Ponyville. Spike was just looking up into the sky, seeming to be in a dream like daze. When he turned his head a little bit to the side Sweetie Belle looked down at the ground, trying to prevent eye contact with him. "Why do keep acting like this when I'm with Spike?" Sweetie Belle thought to herself. "I never really felt this way when Applebloom and Scootaloo are with us, but when it's just me and Spike I get this weird feeling in my stomach." "Hey Sweetie Belle?" Sweetie's face flushed red after hearing his voice. She looked up at him and tried to play it cool. "Yes Spike?" The dragon dragged his foot in the ground, obviously feeling a little nervous about the situation as well. "Well I was if I could show you something? If I do you have to promise not to tell anypony. Ok?" Sweetie Belle felt her heart beading faster than it's ever beaded before. She brought up all of yer courage to say that single word. "Ok." //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 4: Talk //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 4: Talk Sweetie Belle followed Spike up a small hill that started getting a little bit bigger the higher they went. After about a cool five minutes they had almost made it to the smooth top of the hill. Sweetie Belle was stopped by a claw blocking her way. She turned to the purple dragon with curiosity. He turned to her as well knowing what she was thinking. "Close your eyes." The filly was very confused by this. "Why?" She wondered. "It's a surprise." With that, the filly did as she was told and waited for further instructions. "You can't see anything can you?" Spike said as he was rapidly waving his hand in front of her. Sweetie Belle couldn't help but giggle at the dragon's question. "No." She answered. "Good. Now just follow me." As he said that he took the Sweetie's hoof in his claw and started walking. This action caused Sweetie Belle to get a pink tint on her face. They walked a few steps until Spike stopped her once more. "Alright, you can open them." Sweetie Belle was not prepared for what she was about to see. She slowly opened her eyes and stood there with an expression of pure wonder. Before she was a tall and slightly curvy tree with red leaves even though it wasn't Fall. As she scanned the tree from head to hoof she saw that every leaf had amazing curve designs on them. After a good minute or two, she turned her attention back to the young dragon, now with a look of disbelief. "S-Spike what is this place?" Instead of answering her question Spike just walked towards the tree and laid his back on it looking very relaxed. He turned his head to face that filly. "Hey, Sweetie aren't you gonna come relax?" Another blush grew on the filly's face as she tried to hide it. "Um, s-sure Spike." Sweetie Belle walked up to Spike and laid down beside him. When she looked over the edge she could see all of Ponyville. She had to admit this was a very breathtaking sight that she probably won't get to see for a while. "This is where I go sometimes when I'm feeling sad, angry, or if I just want to relax sometimes," Spike said putting both his arms behind his head. He then gestured Sweetie Belle to look up at the tree. "This tree used to be a dying sapling until I found it up here and decided to take care of it." "Really? But I don't get it. This tree is so big and you haven't been in Ponyville long enough for it to be like this." Sweetie Belle said with a puzzled look on her face. She could hear Spike give a small chuckle under his breath before answering her question. Spike had a wide grin on his face. "This isn't your ordinary tree Sweetie. This is a very special tree called a Solar Tree. I looked it up at the library and these trees can grow ten times faster than a regular tree. They are also very rare. The book said that only five were ever seen in all of Equestria." Sweetie Belle was just sitting there surprised about Spikes facts. "Wow that's really cool, but I still don't get why it's called a Solar Tree?" "Well, it's called that because whenever a specific planet is directly over it, it changes." Sweetie Belle seemed to be confused but tried her best to understand what Spike had just told her. "Wait. What do you mean by change?" Spike tap is chin for a few seconds, obviously trying to think of how he can explain it. "Well for example when the sun is over it the color leaves change to yellow and sometimes it grows a fruit that you can only get from this tree. I think it was called a Shine." Sweetie Belle was simply astonished by the powers this tree has. "Wow, that sounds beautiful. Hmm, I wonder what happens to it when the moon is over it?" "Well I haven't finished the chapter about that in the book, but what I do know is that the leaves turn a dark blueish-purple. The thing that I was surprised the most about is that the leaves bloom open into one of the most beautiful flowers the author has ever seen." Sweetie Belle was also surprised by hearing that and couldn't believe it. "I never heard of something blooming in the night." Spike turned his head to Sweetie Belle and She did the same thing as well. "Well, maybe the world felt like it was time for the night to shine like the sun." Sweetie Belle started to blush intensely by the dragon's words and she quickly turned around before he could notice. "*sigh*, I only wish that the world could let me shine too. Looks like that won't be happening for who knows how long." Sweetie Belle was once again surprised by Spike's words as she turned back to him. "What are you talking about Spike?" "I'm talking about how I can't shine bright enough to get a single special somepony in my life." Shocked, the filly stopped relaxing and look straight at the dragon. "What are you talking about Spike? You have that crush on Rarity don't you?" "I did, but that was before I found out that she had a crush on that fancy stylish pony Trenderhoof. That got me thinking if that's the type of pony she wants to be with then I'm not gonna change myself just to get her affection." "Wait he doesn't have a crush on Rarity anymore. Yes, that means I have a better chance of getting Spike to like like me." Sweetie Belle thought to herself. "You know Sweetie Belle, I don't think I'm ever going to get anypony to like me. I mean what was I thinking? No pony would want to date me. All because I'm a monster." A few tears started to swell up in his eyes. "Don't say that Spike. I don't think you're a monster. Your sweet and kind and funny and-" Sweetie Belle tried to snap herself out of it before she trailed off. "-What I'm trying to say is that anypony out there would want somepony like you. I think more ponies should be like you." Sweetie Belle started to blush after hearing herself, but Spike didn't notice. "You really think so Sweetie Belle?" Even though she was extremely nervous at the moment, Sweetie Belle put one of her hoofs around Spike. "I know so. Everything I said was true Spike." The dragon frown slowly turned into to a small smile as he hugged the filly making her blush intensely. "Thanks, Sweetie Belle. That means so much to me." Sweetie Belle returned the hug as she treasured every second of this embrace with the dragon. "No problem Spike. What are friends for?" As they both left the embrace they saw that the sun was setting so they decided that it was time to head back home. Spike helped Sweetie Belle get down the mountain because it was to dark for her to see anything. "What a gentleman." She thought to herself. After a few minutes, they both finally got to the bottom of the mountain. "Thanks for helping me, Spike. I think I can get back home by myself." Spike smiled to her as he looked at her direction. "Well okay. See you tomorrow Sweetie Belle." Sweetie Belle was shuffling the ground thinking about what she should do. Before Spike turned around Sweetie Belle quickly ran towards him and gave him a hug. Before the dragon could react the filly quickly ran away, leaving the dragon speechless. Sweetie Belle entered The Carousel Boutique and headed off to bed. Luckily for her Rarity was too busy sleeping in the middle of her work. As Sweetie slowly closed her bedroom door she jumped on the bed and started cheering for joy. "Yes Yes Yes! Spike is over Rarity!" She plopped right onto the middle of her bed and started hugging her pillow. "Now that Spike doesn't have a crush on Rarity anymore I can finally get him to like me instead." As she started to calm down she turned off the lights and was ready to fall asleep. Suddenly she popped up from under the covers and dug for something underneath her pillows. She pulled out a picture and hugged it tightly to her chest. After that, she placed it back under her pillows and went back to sleep. In her sleep, she whispered a single word in her sleep. "Someday." Author's Note If any of you were wondering about this the episode "Inspiration Manifestation" has not happened. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 6: The Warning //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 6: The Warning Princess Luna has been watching the pony and dragon's memories for about an hour or so. She knew that she had to get back to work, but they were just too adorable to look away from. However, something happened that stopped Luna from watching their memories. In fact, she couldn't see anything in the dragon's Dream Mirror. This would be a normal thing to happen to the mirrors if he wasn't still sleeping. "What? What is happening to my precious mirror?" Luna walked towards Spike's mirror and lifted a hoof to it. Before it touched the glass, multiple bolts of red lighting came from the inside of the mirror. Luna quickly jumped back, but her hoof was hit by one of the bolts before she got away. Suddenly the frame on Spike's mirror started to get covered in some sort of weird black slime. The slime quickly covered the entire mirror frame and melded with it, as if the frame was black the whole time. Then a red mist started to seep out from the back of the mirror and went into the curves of the frame, which were now pointier than curved. The now red curve designs started to glow red and the glass of the mirror slowly got covered in more glowing red ooze. Like what happened to the frame, the red ooze melded with the glass, but this time the glass started to glow brightly. "What kind of dark magic is this? Whoever is doing this, show yourself." Luna's eyes were now filled with anger at the unknown intruder. There was no response for a few seconds until a deep dark laugh echoed through the hall in all directions. After that, there was some heavy breathing and final a voice. "Ah, this is no mere dark magic, my dear. I possess (heavy breathing) something much greater than that. Heh heh, but I must say that you have a very (heavy breathing) interesting collection you have here." The deep and scratchy voice echoed once again getting quieter and quieter with every passing moment. "Who are you? What are you doing here? This is a special place and you are not welcomed here." Luna's horn glowed brightly, preparing for an attack. "Oh trust me my dear little alicorn, I mean you no harm. Heh well, for now at least. I only came to give a warning about my (heavy breathing) arrival." What the mysterious voice said infuriated Luna as she stomped her hoof on the ground. "I do not know what you are talking about, but I am not going to let you break into my home and threaten me!" The anger in her voice could be heard as it echoed throughout the hall. "Break-in? As I said, I have not come to this realm yet. I am nothing but a mere illusion, a (heavy breathing) mental voice as some would call it. I made it so that only you are able to hear me. Even if you try to tell somebody or somepony as your kind say it, about our little conversation no one will believe you." "Fine then, give me your warning and leave at once," Luna said, giving her most demanding tone. "Oh, I said I would "give a warning about my arrival". I never said I was going to give it to you." Luna just stood still in shock and then became furious. "If you were not going to give the warning to me, then who-" Suddenly Luna understood what he meant by that. She turned around and her eyes shrunk into ones of total shock. "No." She quietly said underneath her breath as she stared at the source of her shock. She couldn't believe what she was thinking. "Oh yes. Yes indeed." The voice maniacal whispered into her ears. "Spike's Dream Mirror" //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 7: Visions of The Future //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 7: Visions of The Future It all happened in a flash, first, he was remembering something and then darkness. No matter where he looked or went, everything around him was pitch black. Spike tried to breathe fire to at least give him some light, but even that didn't work. He was getting a little worried, but the young dragon knew that he would find some way out of this black filled void. Just as he turned around something surprised him with both shock and curiosity. A single blue rectangular door with a simple yellow knob was now right in front of him. He thought about it for a little bit, but since there was nothing else around here he decided to go through the door. Just as he opened it a bright light came from the door, blinding him for a second or two. Once Spike's eyesight was back to normal he noticed that he was no longer in the void. He was now surrounded by strange-looking statues, none of them were ponies. Some of them looked friendly and happy, while others just didn't give him a good feeling. As he walked down the hall the light seemed to be getting dimmer. As the dragon turns around he panics and starts running in the direction he was going. Everything behind was being engulfed in some kind of black slime-like substance. Even though it may look like slime, it was moving at surprising speed and gaining up to him fast. As he was finally at the end of the hall and right in front of the door, the tiles under him broke. He started to fall. As Spike was falling down what seems to be an endless void, he starts seeing images in his eyes or mind. It's really hard to explain, but he was seeing things that weren't in front of him. But these things felt like they were actually happening in front of him. They were kind of hard to see, but it looked like a weird figure standing in front of him. This mysterious figure was not a pony, but it was standing on two legs and it had a really sleek and thin body. It was as if it had no bones inside of it, kind of like an empty costume standing on its own. It also had hands like Spike's, only much bigger and sharper. The thing that scared the dragon the most was the fact that the creature looked like it was made of that black slime from the hall. Spike tried to get a better look at it so he could see it more clearly, but before he could get any closer the things blank face ripped open revealing it's piercing teeth made out of its slime. Its mouth was colored and steaming with this weird red mist coming out of the corners of its mouth. The thing that Spike will never forget are those eyes. It was as if the blood of a thousand tortured souls filled its eyes. Suddenly the creature lunged toward Spike as the dragon quickly closed his eyes, it was gone. A new figure now took its place, but this one was different. It was as tall as Shining armor, colored a somewhat dark purple, and had four claws on each hand. Sure this one wasn't a pony either, but Spike felt like there was something different about this one. He doesn't know how or why, but he can feel that this creature was nice. The creature slowly walked towards the young dragon and reached out one of its hands to him. As Spike was reaching for it, he fell unconscious. It had felt like an hour, but Spike finally got back to his feet. He was no longer in the void anymore, but Twilight's lab in the basement of the library. The only thing different with this one though was that there were no stair and a lot more gadgets down here. Once again the only thing Spike could do now was looking for a way out of here. As he began his search, he heard rustling coming from his left, no right, no behind him. "What's going on here?!" Spike shouted in a nonspecific direction. "Show yourself! I have to warn you, I'm a dangerous fire breathing dragon!" Just as he said that all of the lights in the lab dimmed, a strange mist appeared, and all of the machines turned on. The strangest thing about this was that the machines were in some kind of musical beat. Just then a mysterious figure popped out from behind one of the machines. It was another baby dragon! It looked a lot like Spike, except that it yellow with blue scales and had its spikes slicked back. He just stood there staring at Spike, until he did something Spike never expected. He started to sing in a deeper voice than Spike had expected him to have. Hey I'm your life I'm the one who takes you there Hey I'm your life I'm the one who cares They They betray I'm your only true friend now They They'll betray I'm forever there He jumped back behind the machines as his shadow and two more dragon-shaped shadows appeared and sang along. I'm your dream, make you real I'm your eyes when you must steal I'm your pain when you can't feel Sad but true I'm your dream, mind astray I'm your eyes while you're away I'm your pain while you repay You know it's sad but true Next thing Spike knew it another dragon came out of nowhere. This one was blue with white spikes and all of his spikes were put together in a single curved spike on the left side of his face. This one's voice was a little more uptight and pushy. You You're my mask You're my cover, my shelter You You're my mask You're the one who's blamed Do Do my work Do my dirty work, scapegoat Do Do my deeds For you're the one who's shamed And just like before the dragon jumped back with the others and started to sing all together, but this time more intensely. I'm your dream, make you real I'm your eyes when you must steal I'm your pain when you can't feel Sad but true I'm your dream, mind astray I'm your eyes while you're away I'm your pain while you repay You know it's sad but true Now things started to get strange, the lights got even darker and all of the shadows were gone as a new one came. This dragon was very strange, he was black with red spikes, his spikes were sharp and pointing forward. His voice was like all of the other voicing singing at once, making an extremely threatening voice. Hate I'm your hate I'm your hate when you want love Pay Pay the price Pay, for nothing's fair Hey I'm your life I'm the one who took you there Hey I'm your life And I no longer care I'm your dream, make you real I'm your eyes when you must steal I'm your pain when you can't feel Sad but true I'm your truth, telling lies I'm your reasoned alibis I'm inside open your eyes I'm you In a flash of light it the black dragon turned into Spike. The young dragon fell to the floor, now with tears of sorrow and disbelief running down his cheeks. Sad But True Spike suddenly woke up in his bed, with a very concerned alicorn looking down at him. He just looked up at her, tears still in his eyes as he lunged to her and started crying. Twilight Sparkle wrapped her hooves around the sobbing dragon and tried to calm him down. "Oh Spike, what am I going to do with you?" Twilight thought to herself as she continued to comfort the dragon in his time of need. "Ha, thous plan has failed," Luna said in a victorious tone, as she watches Spike's mirror turn back to normal. "Oh, my plan has not failed." The raspy voice said. "I have made my presence known. And now it is time for me to rest," The mysterious voice started to get quieter and quieter until it was completely gone. Princess Luna returned her attention to the mirror as it showed Spike crying while Twilight is hugging him. A look of anger grew on her face as she looks even deeper into the mirror. "Just what did you show that dragon?" This certain alicorn was taller than most ponies, had a white coat and a long flowing multicolored mane. She started walking down the halls as she turned to a certain room. Knocking on the door with her hoof she awaits for the pony inside to answer. After a few seconds the door slowly creeks open revealing another alicorn. Unlike Celestia however, she was somewhat shorter than her and her coat was a midnight blue. Her mane also resembled the night sky. "Luna, I believe it is time for you to start heading to your tower," Celestia said in her usual calm and relaxed tone. "Of course sister I was just making sure the night sky was perfect. Not that anypony is ever awake at this time to see it." Luna's head started to look down at the floor. Celestia extended her hoof foreleg out, putting her hoof under her sister's chin. Raising up her head in curiosity, Luna just stared at her sister, waiting for her wisdom to lift her spirit. "Do not think of such things. Your night is as beautiful as the day. Remember that and you'll always know that there are ponies out there that also see your night for its beauty." Celestia said while also giving her little sister a reassuring smile for extra support. Luna simply nodded and returned the smile. With that Luna flew up the long flight of stairs When she finally got to the top, she landed in front of an old wooden door with rusted metal on it. The handle glowed in a dark blue aura as it opened up revealing a small room filled with multiple large empty picture frames. She walked up to the silver frame that had the "Ponyville" engraved in it. Luna's horn started to glow and the wall inside the frame started to shake. Then suddenly a yellow glow and green mist started to appear leaked out of the crack in between the bricks. These two colors then started to swirl up and then Luna walked towards it. She was able to pass through it as if it was nothing. (I thought of the animation for her waling through it would be her walking through Jell-O) She opened her eyes revealing a cosmos like a hall with multiple mirrors. Each mirror had a different name on it and showed a different dream. After giving a little sigh, Luna started casually walking down The Hall of Dreams. Luna enjoyed doing this because she was able to see her subjects without them panicking at the sight of her. "Sometimes I wish that everypony no longer fear me." She mumbled under her breath. Her eyes started to glow a lighter shade of blue. Before it got worse, she quickly shook her head, removing the thought from her mind. "No Luna. You are no longer Nightmare Moon. Remember what Celestia said." With that, she calmed down and went straight back to work. She stopped once again once she saw who's Dream Mirror she was in front of. "Ah, my dear Sweetie Belle. It's good to see you have a nice dream." Before Luna walked away she noticed something odd. She walked back to Sweetie's mirror and then to the one next to it. "This is very peculiar. I've seen ponies dream about their past, but I've never seen two ponies have the same one at once." Looking closer at the two mirrors we see what name is on the mirror next to Sweetie Belle's. "Spike The Dragon" (Into The Dream - Season 2) It was just another day in Ponyville, except for a certain little dragon. To him, it was the day he would confess his feelings to the mare of his dreams. "Hey, Rarity I was meaning to tell you this for a while-" Spike shook his head back and forth. "No, no, no. That just sounds stupid. Think Spike think." He said to himself while banging a fist to his head. Spike was outside of the Carousel Boutique, pacing back and forth. In one of his claws was a single white rose for Rarity. Giving himself a slap on the cheek, he stood up straight. "Ok, you can do this Spike. This is it, the moment you've been waiting for. Let's do this" He slowly moved one of his feet forward and then the other. After about a minute he was now right in front of the door to the shop. Tacking a few deep breaths as Twilight told him to do whenever he gets nervous, he lifted his hand and knocked. His cheeks were now blushing more than ever as the door started to slowly open. "There's no turning back now." He thought to himself. Instead of a full-grown mare in front of him, there was a smaller one. After seeing that it was only Sweetie Belle, Spike relaxed a little. "Oh, hey Spike. What brings you here?" "Uh, w-well I kinda wanted to t-tell Rarity something," Spike said, not making any eye contact. "Sorry to tell you this Spike, but Rarity's in Canterlot with a very important client." All the scales on Spike's head and back drooped down. "Oh, well ok. Sorry for wasting your time. I'll just... I'll just be...going now." As Spike turned away from the filly he almost started to walk away before something came to mind. Extending out his claw to the filly, revealing a white rose, the dragon still didn't look at her. "Here Sweetie Belle. I spent two hours trying to find this flower. Can't let it go to wast. So here." Sweetie Belle reached out her hooves and took the rose from him. As she did so the depressed dragon started walking to an unknown destination. Sweetie Belle was left there speechless at what has just happened. Looking down at her new flower she took a quick sniff of it and sighed heavenly at his kind gesture. Looking around she put it in her hair and went back inside. "I hope Spike will be okay. I hate seeing him like this and the way Rarity treats him. But why?" She said to herself. (Into The Dream - Season 2 - Hearts and Hooves Day) "Alright Spike it may have taken you all day, but you can do this. After all, Hearts and Hooves Day is not over yet. I still have a chance." It was the situation as last time. Spike was giving himself a pep talk, pacing himself, and with a gift in his hand. Instead of a rose, this time Spike was holding a heart-shaped box of gems. "This time nothing can go wrong," Spike said to himself with a very confident tone in his voice. As he approached the Carousel Boutique the door started to open before he got to it. As it was almost completely open it revealed Rarity and an unknown figure next to her. "I do say Miss Rarity, this place is simply magnificent. You must show me how you get your inspiration for your designs." Before Rarity answered the stallions question, she turned her attention to her unexpected visitor. "Oh, Spike perfect timing. Fancy Pants this is the little helper I've been telling you all about." "Ah, so you're the helpful little dragon. Miss Rarity has told me so much about you." Fancy Pants then turned his attention back to Rarity. "No need to be rude Miss Rarity, but we better get going before they give our table away to somepony else." Spike was just standing still shocked at what he was hearing. Rarity looked down at him and noticed the box. "Excuse me Spike, but what's that you're holding there." He panicked and tried to figure out a way out of this. "Oh, this? W-well it's just a...a Hearts and Hooves gift for-" His mind was going anywhere and it picked the first name that came to mind. "Sweetie Belle." Spike once again stood their shock at what he had just said. "Aw, that's so sweet of you Spike. Sweetie hasn't received any today, not even a single card. You're the only pony that was nice enough to give her a Hearts and Hooves gift today." Inside Spike felt kinda happy to hear that he was going to make somepony happy. "She's right upstairs in her room. You can give it to her there." Spike just gave a smile to her as he walked inside the house and headed up the stairs. "Well I may not get Rarity to be my special somepony today, but at least I can make one pony happy today." Before he knew it he was in front of her open bedroom door. Before she turned around, Spike quickly hid the box behind his back. "Hey there Spike. How's it going?" She asked in her usual happy tone. "I'm fine, I'm fine. Listen, Sweetie, I've heard that you didn't get any gifts today so I was kinda wondering." He pulled out the box out in front of her and opened it, revealing the gems inside. "If you would like to be my very special somepony?" Sweetie Belle just stood in total shock at what was happening right now. Her smile suddenly turned even bigger than it was before. She ran towards Spike and knocked him down to the floor as she had him in a loving embrace. She was also rubbing her cheek against his. "Of course I would! Thank you so much, Spike! Thank you, thank you, thank you!" She kept hugging him and giving him the occasional nuzzle once in a while. She hugged him so long that they both fell asleep together, still in each others' embrace. When Spike woke up in the morning he was snout to muzzle with Sweetie Belle in her bed. Spike was blushing intensely in his current situation. Although when Sweetie Belle tried to kiss him in her sleep, he was doing his best to avoid it. Luckily for him, Sweetie Belle woke up when she was finally about to smooch Spike. She too started to blush extremely red during this circumstance as well. "Oh good, Sweetie Belle you're awake. Now would you mind letting me go so I can go back to the library?" She quickly lets go of him and he left home. "Oh no. What was I doing? Now Spike won't be around me for a while after this whole fiasco." (Into The Dream - Season 2 - Finally) Spike was hanging around the snack table as he got himself some punch. "No good waiter. Why they wouldn't have gems at the wedding snack tables, I will never understand." He jokingly said, before taking a sip of his punch. What the dragon didn't know was that there was a certain pony that was watching him from afar. "Oh Spike. I wish I could tell you how I feel about you. That I lo-LIKE! That I like like you." She said to herself from the other side of the table. She would have been ok if Pinkie Pie didn't happen to bump into her with her overactive dancing. Sweetie Belle slide forwards and fell to the ground. "Hey, you need some help." Sweetie Belle reached out her hoof to grab the other pony's hoof. The only problem is that it wasn't a hoof at all, but a claw. When she got up she saw that she was right in front of Spike. Looking down her hoof in his claw, she blushed and quickly took her hoof away. "Um, t-thanks for the help Spike." "No problem Sweetie Belle." Spike was about to return to the snack table, he was stopped by a question. A question he thought he would never hear from Sweetie Belle. "Um S-Spike, w-would you like t-to dance with me?" Her heart was pounding faster than a stampede of buffalo. She prepared herself for rejection by turning away from him. "Sure that sounds like fun. Come on Sweetie Belle." Happy as she could be, Sweetie Belle ran with Spike to their destination. After a few minutes of dancing to fast and funky songs, they played a slow song instead. Spike turned his attention to Sweetie Belle who was obviously blushing at their current situation. With a smirk on his face, he turned to her. "Would like to share this dance with me?" He asked in his most polite voice. Sweetie's headshot right up as she stared at the dragon. She smiled, nodded her head, and put her hoof on the dragon's claw. She stood up on her hind legs and put both her hooves on his shoulders as they danced the night away. After a while, the party ended and everypony headed home. Spike and Sweetie Belle said their goodbyes and headed off as well. "Even though this didn't get us together. I'm just glad I got to have a dance with Spike. The dragon of my dreams." "This young pony love can be so amusing from time to time. But this is simply hilarious." Luna was giggling at what she had just witnessed. "Well, I better get back to work. There are still so many dreams left to protect." When she walked away, she just teleported back the same spot she was before. This time she had a pillow and some popcorn. "Well, maybe just one more. I believe the ponies these days would say it. This is started to get good." Author's Note One day I was thing of other ways Spike could get Sweetie Belle to fall for him more without noticing. And then it hit me: Why not make a chapter about flashbacks showing everyone how Sweetie's crush grew. I was thinking of dreams because all of you could get both side of the story. Also sorry about the late chapter.
