Day DI, Entry 205 I knew, I slept, I dreamed, and I hoped, hoping that someday... someone would find me and accept me as someone who has a future in his life and could be someone, not a something. I remembered the time when I was born... my gosh, I remember. It was bright in the room, I caught a glance of my mother as she held me in her hooves, and my father witnessing the birth of a child. I was exited to live my life. But the moment when they looked into each others eyes and into my eyes, they realized that I wasn't qualified to live a healthy life with them. My mother put me down, glared at my small eyes, and walked cautiously and silently out of the room. I was all alone that night... no one would come and comfort me; or take me as their son, but they didn't. Why? Why is it me? Why should it be me? Why does no one like me as for who I am? Why am I considered "dust" to my parents. Why am I asking myself these questions over and over again as I know that it would end one day. One day... all the despair and pessimistic thoughts of my head will disappear, as some pony would find me and take me as their son. But that hasn't happened for thirteen years and counting! I swear that I'll find who I really am... I just know it. But now, I'm stuck here. Stuck in a dark and scary forest. This is considered to be my humble home. This was the only place I could get into without being seen by any other pony because they'll think I'll be some psycho walking into a black forest without adult supervision. But anyways, I live here: in a forest. A dark and scary forest to be exact. (Hmph, I said the same things twice.) My home is a hole carving inside a tall, damp tree. It has everything: a thing I can sit on, a thing I can sleep and rest on, and a thing I can eat on. Its quite dirty, due to the fact that it's all made of wood and moss. But... I plow on, trying my best to gather resources to survive this cruel place, trying to improve my lifestyle, trying to live a better life, and trying to find some pony that would care for me. Except the problem is that I can't leave. I'm stuck here. It's like I'm inside an invisible barrier, created by the ghosts of my parents. No! Don't think about your parents, don't think about that horrifying image, don't think... negative... think positive. My gosh, all my live I've been depressed and worried; but maybe If I act a little positive, some pony would recognize me as a "cheerful and heartfelt" kind of pony. But how? How can I be more happy and positive? That's the main question here. Should I smile more? Should I think more happy thoughts? Should I do both? What do I do? What CAN I do? What will I- oof, I'm famished. Jeez, who knew all of this writing can work up some pony's apatite. But I still want to write on how I can be happy and positive. Oh I can't resist! Food is calling my name. Just to be sure you know what I eat, I eat fruits hanging from trees of bushes. Sometimes I even eat the leaves itself. Gruesome, isn't it? I know, but its the only food I can find in this here parts of the forest. Day by day, the food vanishes as I steal the fruit from the bushes. I try to conserve my food, eating it bite by bite per day. It's the only method I can use to survive. Anyway, where was I? Gosh darn it, I lost track of what I was talking about. I tend to that all the time. Don't know why, but its part of me. I guess I'll close this entry for now. Good night, friend. //-------------------------------------------------------// Who I Am //-------------------------------------------------------// Who I Am Day DVI, Entry 206 Hello again, friend. Sorry if I haven't been writing lately, I was busy improving my home in a tree. It... kinda worked. I got a new thing I can sit on. But I kinda wrecked my thing I could sleep on. Any who, I just wanted to write about who I am and who I want to be. My name is Alfanzo DeWright, and I'm... dang. Strange name isn't it. I HAD to name myself, since my parents left me by the second. WOOSH! They're gone. Enough of this! My name if Alfanzo DeWright... and I'm a grey pony with a black and red mane and tail, with no parents or no one at all. BOOM! WHAT! That's who I am: a pony with no parents or no one at all. Sounds pessimistic, doesn't it? But that's who I really am. I mean, let's look at the facts: my parents left me when I was born, ponies consider me as a "worthless piece of flesh", and I live in a dark and scary forest. Now for who I want to be. Its quite simple: all I want is to be found and raised happily. But boy am I wrong. I tried doing that once, walking out of the forest and trying to find a pony; but that invisible barrier kept me in from the outside world. I hate my parents with all my heart... Its happening again, I'm remembering that image again. Gosh, get it out of me! It's like the only think I can think of. Think of something else, QUICK! Uh... um... A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y, Z! 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10! What the heck am I doing? I just chanted the alphabet and number line for no apparent reason. But by Joe, it worked. I can't remember what I was thinking. It's been an interesting night. I saw a weird, small walking thing with eight small hooves, and was walking insanely fast. I'll call it a "walking thing" for now. I honestly never saw that kind of thing before, and I'm really curious to see where it came from. So I walked out of my home and BAM! It was right there, in front of my doorway. I see several "walking things" crawling into a small hole on top of a tiny, little hill. I was in awe of this interesting sight. It only took them a couple of hours to create such a work of art. I lie down to get a closer look of the "walking things" creation. One of the best things I've seen in my entire life! But it wasn't the "walking thing" that my night interesting. It was that thing I saw outside out of the forest. I was walking out to the forest to gather some fruit for my dinner. It was a success. I managed to snatch three round, orange things. But as I picked the last one... someone said my name. "Alfanzo..." it whispered. Oh my. That's the first time I've ever heard some pony talked to me AND to say name, all in one combo. Ahem. I dropped the fruit and replied: "Who's there?" But it just said: "Alfanzo," once more. I was curious. So I walked to the direction where the voice was calling my name. I dropped the fruit that was dangling from my hoof. "Alfanzo..." it said again. I came closer and closer to the impending voice, and there it was... a pony. A huge, tall, majestic, and a grey kind of pony. It wasn't like any other kind. This one had wings AND a horn. Now THAT is something considered odd and weird. Then... the pony turned from a dark grey to a bright white color. Its mane and tail were flowing like the wind. At that moment, I realized that for thirteen years, I'm finally going to be saved. No more living in despair-no more living life with low sagacity-I'm finally going to be free for once. "Alfanzo..." "What?" I said back to the pony. "Its time." "Time? Time for what?" I started to get a little anxious on this conversation. The pony walked up to me, put her hoof around my back and said: "It is time for you to progress on your life. It is time to show verisimilitude to your responsibilities. It is time to be tenacious. It is time for you to leave this horrid place, known as the Everfree Forest." Ok. This is gotta be a hallucination. I touched the tall pony to see if it was a ghost or something transparent. But ironically... it wasn't. I released myself from the grasp of the pony and took a few steps back from this so called "life saver". The pony started to follow me. She said: "Don't be afraid no more. I will guide you to who you really are. I will give you the power to realize that ponies DO care for you. It is time..." My gosh, I was so tempted. Those words she said to me-it sounded true. Then, out of nowhere. Her horn lit up the dark forest, and a weird green line shot out of the tip of her horn. The line bounced off a dead tree and it shot me through my body. Oh my... I thought I was gonna die. But... I didn't. Wow. That was considered a miracle. "You are now free to leave this place whenever you are ready to face reality." the pony stated clearly. She nodded her head and her wings began to flap. I yelled: "Hey, where are you going?!" "I have other duties to intend to," she replied thoroughly, "but I will check on you to see if you will leave, and face the world eye to eye." She rose up higher and higher. The wind began to howl through my emaciated body. And then, POOF! She was gone. Gone in an instant. I gaped my mouth open for a while, in shock if this intellectual event. I nodded my head, gathered the fruit, and slowly walking home. From that place to home, I thought about what the pony had said to me. "It is time for you to leave this horrible place, and meet the world eye to eye." At least, that's what I think she said. Buh... I can't remember. But at  least the good news is that I arrived home safe and sound. I bit the fruit a couple of times, and lied down on the thing you can rest on. Gosh, I'm gonna have the weirdest dream EVER! Or is this a dream? Honest... I hope its not. //-------------------------------------------------------// A Series Of Adventurous Events: The Ironic Beginning //-------------------------------------------------------// A Series Of Adventurous Events: The Ironic Beginning I am now using my mind as my new, permanent journal. Pretty cool, huh? Now my hooves won't hurt so darn bad, due to muscle cramps. I sure do miss Mr. Book; but I gave a new friend: Brainy. Sounds weird, doesn't it? Well technically my brain comes uo with all of the thoughts and words that I write on my journal entries... so yeah. Alfanzo, meet Brainy. Brainy, meet Alfanzo. We'll be the best of friends - just like Mr. Book. But any who, I made a saddlebag to carry the stuff I need for my adventurous adventure. I thought I already said this, but I packed some fruit, a sheet of cloth (used as a blanket for when I rest), and a handmade canteen. The bad news is that I have to find a body of water of fill the canteen. I get my water from the ferocious storms; but the tall, decaying trees make it look like its just a simple rain shower. Trust me. By the sound of thunder, it indicates if its gonna be a calm shower, or a harsh storm. So I got a last good look of my home in a tree. For at least thirteen years I've been living in this dump, but now I'll be living in a better home that's NOT in a tree. I kissed the floor and said, "Good bye, tree." I slowly started to head for the doorway, but I turned my head to get a one last glance of my humble home. One last glance. Oh... my... GOD! I'm like my parents. They caught one last glance of me before the exited the hospital room. What have I become? A monster? My god, get this image out of my head! I walked towards a broken wall, and smashed my head to try to clear my memory. I've tried and tried several times to refresh my baffled head; but all I get was a broken, fragmented head. I started to feel lassitude all over my aching body, indicating that it has had enough with my brain. My body knew that it was time to start a new faze of my life: me meeting the outside world. I gulped a few times, as they rushed down my arid veins, speeding across my depressed blood cells. I went away from the wall and faced the doorway. I took one step forward and two steps back... and then I ran like a cheetah. My body felt the adrenaline coming into me. My heart began pounding like a jack hammer. I've began to get muscle cramps for the first time in my life. My pumped up body ran to the doorway as I leaped to glory. And then, I was out of my home, and into the damp forest. I yelled: "Get ready for this!" I could feel it now. By Joe, I can feel it. My depressed, black blood cells are being replaced by bright red blood cells as I ran like a speeding ballad, an erratic drum beat was emitted from my heart as my conscience was being restored. I ran on the ruined path, ran like a galloping horse that was trotting across a wide field of freedom. That horse will be me, I will trot across a field of freedom - with a whole new body - with a whole new experience. I WILL be free. I ran like a speeding train across the vague forest, heading for that open dot in the horizon straight ahead. That dot can only point out one thing: freedom. Me heart felt like it was clogged up with blood, as if it was go BOOM or something like that. So I slowed down my speedy pace, and ran in a steadily kind of pace. My heart felt better by then. I realized something: the closer and closer I get to freedom, the more pain I get around my exquisite body. Its like body wasn't built for this kind of event. Maybe because I haven't ran in like, years. Wow. I'm a lazy bum. But I forgot about my lazy-self as the dot drew closer and closer, bigger and bigger. Slowly, I can feel light entering my body. My darkened body was about to feel the power of light. Heck with it! I am the light! I control my light! I will escape this horrifying place, and walk into the free! It's good to be me, cause I'm FREE! At that moment I began to sing a song as I ran to victory: I'm being free in the wind in the wind free to be me, in the wind in the wind What would it feel like to be new again and get a second chance into the me, into the free into this brand new world felt so constrained, felt so in pain but now I'm breaking out and I'm going out to the free to the free free is being me I am free I am free I'm feeling free in my life in my life free to be me let me free I am free I'm free... At that moment I realized that I've broken the invisible barrier that was created by the souls of my parents. The pony was right, I am being tenacious. Yea! Nothing can stop me at this rate! I just sang a song for the first time in my life and I WON'T be stopped by a bad image anymore. I wasn't lacking verisimilitude no more. I represent like hood. I represent me. I represent... my future. I saw the sun shining from gaping holes from the trees. Light possessed my body once more as I approached the exit of the forest. But as soon I was about to be free... I halted my hooves, causing me to trip over a tree stump that was glued shut to the ground. I got up and regained control of my hooves. Why? Why can't I come out? I'm standing right at the edge of the darkened shadow that borders the light of freedom. The pony was wrong! The barrier is is still here. That was a really heinous hallucination. But for the heck of it, I'll try it. I put my top left roof out of the shadows very gingerly. And I saw it: my hoof was half dark and half bright. I was in awe of this amazing sight. At that moment, I directed my hoof to the light. And I saw it. One of my hooves was shining bright by the sun. Odd. This can't be right. I'm stuck behind this barrier. Alright then, barrier. If you wanna play games, then let's play games. I put my top right hoof this time onto the light. For a second it has half dark and half bright. And then it was one-hundred percent covered with light. My entire body was half enveloped with darkness and brightness. I now put my gasping face up into the light, trying to force the other part of my body to join the the glamorous light. Then... at the same time... my two back hooves crunched together, and forced me to walk a few steps more. And now I was covered in light. One-hundred percent pure light. It is official: I am free! I took one last glance at the forest, gave a nasty kind of look, turned back to the original direction I was facing, and I started my epic adventure to find out who I am, and to find some pony to find me and comfort me. No more living in pain - no more living in sorrow - no more living in fear. You are a free man, Alfanzo. You are officially considered a free man. //-------------------------------------------------------// Pony Meets World //-------------------------------------------------------// Pony Meets World Day DXIV, Entry 207 Snooping as usual I see, Mr. Book? I know you too well. You're just here to get a good feed on my life from day to day, and you're forcing me to write in you because I have absolutely NOTHING to do (that is true, anyway). Guess what. It's not gonna work anymore. Although your my friend, you must be out of my system. It is time for me to leave this gruesome place, and time to meet the outside world. And worst of all... its time for you to get out my life. I'm sorry, but I must, but I can't. You were the only thing I can talk to, comfort with, and you made me happy to write inside the dry, trampled pages of what is you: my friend, Mr. Book. Alas, I must move on. I decided to heed the words of that pony that looked somewhat of an angel from up there. I must show responsibility in my life. I must prove that I'm capable of living life. I must leave this place... and start a new chapter of my life. Its time to face my fears and actually meet the world face to face and eye to eye. No more acting like a coward-it's time to act more mature, its time to find out who I really am! "Pony Meets World"... now I get it. So I've gathered some basic stuff for the journey: some fruit, a stick, and a canteen of water. I created the canteen. Don't know how, but I did it. I will surreptitiously hide this book to the depths of this forest. The clamorous sounds of the wildlife will probably blow my cover on hiding this book, but I'll manage. But Mr. Book... I'm afraid its time to say goodbye forever. We had loads of fun together, we laughed, we talked, we did what the ordinary ponies would do to each other. I will never come back to this ghastly place. That means I'll never see you again. I'm gonna miss you Mr. Book. I really am. But life must go on. So now I'll put you in this hole I've created just for you. I'm already getting the sniffles just committing this kind of crime. Goodbye forever... Mr. Book. You will always be considered a friend inside my heart.
