Let's fix it up
Let's fix it up
Load Full Story"Spike!" A voice called out. Out of nowhere, a baby dragon popped up. "Yes, Twilight? What is it?" Spike asked, clearly ready for any challenge that may lay ahead. "Can you come into the basement to dust it? It's pretty-" Twilight paused to cough, clearly coming from the dust in said basement. "-Dusty down here!"
Spike groaned and rolled his eyes. "Fine Twilight, I'll clean up the basement..." He mumbled, grabbing a broom and heading down into the basement. Before he made it down the entire way, he bumped into Twilight who was almost unrecognizable since she was covered head to hoof in dust.
"Oh hi Twilight. Your looking... um... dusty today." Spike said, trying to hide a giggle. Twilight rolled her eyes. "Have fun in there. You'll be covered in about an inch of dust when you come out." The dragon thought about what she said and it sent a shiver down his spine.
Despite being afraid of the possible massive amount of dust in the basement, Spike continued treading onward into the unknown. He opened the basement door and it made a loud creak as it opened.
Spike tip-toed into the darkness, and began to sweep away, just as instructed. Even though it was dark, doesn't mean that he couldn't do a good job and possibly get some gems from Twilight.
After about an hour of dusting in complete darkness without accidents, the first one finally happened. Spike accidentally tripped over an unknown object and landed face first in a pile of dust, which added on to the dust that he had on him. He groaned, and looked back to what he tripped over.
Spike saw... a book. It was nothing special, really. It was just a plain old book. The dragon approached it to see if it was dangerous or if it had any purpose other than being a book for reading. As he approached, he could make out title in the darkness.
Rainbow Dash's Story.
Puzzled, Spike picked it up. It was surprisingly heavy, so instead of carrying it he dragged it up towards Twilight.
Upstairs, Twilight was peacefully studying, but she wasn't going to be for long. Her train of thought was interrupted by the sound of something heavy being carried up stairs. "Spike, what are you doing?!" She called out, before finding out that the dragon was standing in the same room that she was.
"I found this- COUGH, COUGH -old book in the basement. It's called-" Before Spike could even say the name, Twilight gasped and shoved a hoof in his mouth. "Dear sweet merciful Celestia, burn that book in TARTARUS! That is the worst thing I have ever read and I am NOT going to experience that HELL again!"
Spike quickly recoiled, and stumbled backwards. He fell down, spreading dust everywhere. "What's the- COUGH -big idea?! Is that story REALLY that bad?" Twilight pulled Spike towards her face. "Trust me, if you read that story you would want it to burn too. Now then, let's just forget about this and get the matches. It's time I burnt this disgrace to Daring Do. And this disgrace to books. THIS STORY DISGRACED BOOKS ITSELF, SPIKE!" Twilight spat into his face, before quickly taking a step back.
"Wait a second... isn't this that book that Dashie gave to you so that you could proof-read it?" Spike said, finally realizing what the book was. "Yes. Yes it is, Spike. But it's just HORRID!" The dragon stared at Twilight with disbelief. "If it's 'just horrid', why didn't you fix it up? Didn't Rainbow want you to, well, fix it up?"
A light bulb finally lit in Twilight's head. "OHMYGOSH. You're right, Spike! I should have just edited it! I'm such a foal!" She was already levitating ink, quills and the book. Spike was slightly creeped out, so he silently stepped out of the room to continue dusting the basement.
When Twilight actually realized what she did, she planted her face into the book. "This is going to be a long night."
After possibly hours, it had been done. Twilight had successfully edited the horrible story into an actual story that could be read.
Once upon a time, in the magical land of Equestria, there was a pegasus who was named Rainbow Dash. She believed that she was the coolest and most awesome pegasus in Equestria. She was possibly the fastest pony in Equestria, as any pony who dared race her would most likely lose.
Whenever she flies, the only thing that the ponies would ever see was a rainbow streak. They would never see the mystic pegasus, but they were still amazed by her feats. Rainbow Dash had many friends, each represented a Spirit of Harmony. Rainbow Dash was the Spirit of Loyalty, and she was loyal to her friends. Her friends supported her through every challenge that she had.
Of course, even though Rainbow Dash was the fastest pony in Equestria, she wasn't a part of the Wonderbolts yet. It was her dream; to become a Wonderbolt. She had always longed to be an elite flier, but she just couldn't achieve her dream.
One day, her friends found out about the Wonderbolts Academy. It was the perfect place for Dash; a place where she could study to become a Wonderbolt, and where she could finally achieve her dream of becoming a Wonderbolt. It was only for the most daring and fast pegasi, so of course Rainbow Dash got in immediately.
Rainbow Dash had hyped up the event of going to the Wonderbolts Academy so much that one of her friends, Pinkie Pie, decided to throw a party for it. The party was completely unnecessary, but that pony threw pointless parties all the time. All of Ponyville was invited to the party, and it was crazy. There was cookies and punch by the door, and there were many party games. The party went on for the entire night, but it eventually had to end.
Rainbow Dash went home and finally went to rest. But unfortunately, when she woke up, she was feeling ill. But that didn't stop her; nothing stops The Dash. She decided that she would just fly the sickness off. She flew around Ponyville, but that only made her feel worse. When she realized that she was late for her first lesson at the Academy, Dash sped off and wasn't late, since she managed to make it there in record time; 10 seconds. Flat.
The Academy's exercises and lessons were extremely boring, and Dash did them pretty quick. Eventually Dash was sick of the Academy, and decided that she should drop out. Unfortunately for her, Spitfire, who was the current Captain of the Wonderbolts, said that if she dropped out she would never become a Wonderbolt. This saddened Dash, but she still dropped out.
Dash knew that she could still become a Wonderbolt, so she decided to consult her best friend; Daring Do. She flew into the jungle in which Daring resided, and she quickly got lost. In the forest, she saw Ahuizotl, Daring's arch nemesis. With a swift punch to the face, he was knocked out and Daring Do was saved from the evil clutches of Ahuizotl. She trotted up from behind him and gave Dash her thanks.
Dash then said that she wanted to be a Wonderbolt, and Daring said that she could be whatever she wanted to be. Daring then flew off into the distance, but before she did she said for Dash to make a wish. Dash wished to, of course, be a Wonderbolt.
When Dash went back to her cloud house, she found a note that invited her back to the Academy. But Dash refused to go, so she sat in her house and bounced a ball against a wall. Then, the Wonderbolts privately went into her house and asked her to join. Dash was ecstatic, and she of course agreed.
Dash did a few tricks and flips, and the Wonderbolts were pretty impressed. When she did the Sonic Rainboom, the deal was sealed for them. They asked Rainbow Dash to be their captain, and she accepted of course.
To this day, Dash is the greatest Wonderbolt ever. And that is where our story concludes.
Twilight finally finished scribbling in the last word, and she closed the book. She quickly fitted on some saddlebags and placed the book into one of the bags. She quickly spread her wings and glided off towards Rainbow Dash's cloud house.
When Twilight arrived at the cloud house, she swiftly knocked. Rainbow answered quickly, since the knocking would have ticked her off otherwise. "Hey Twilight. What's up?"
Rainbow then was hit with a barrage of words and a book to the face. "Hey Rainbow, I fixed up the old book that you brought to me, okay bye!" With those words being said, the door was slammed shut, leaving a very confused Rainbow Dash left with a book.
"Let's see how well she fixed it up."
Author's Note
Sequels are fun.
Especially to really old stories.
