//-------------------------------------------------------// Chaos is the Only Way -by Tailgate- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter Numero Uno //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter Numero Uno         I took several gulps as freshly brewed coffee poured into my mouth. The coffee in question was being held by my favorite plate. The butt of the plate was imprinted. It stated, “Entropy is my muse.”         Off in the distance, I watched as Fluttershy took care of her animals. They all seemed happy to see her again. However, if I walk near any of them they would shy away from me until finally they would be gone.         I sighed and drank more of my coffee. I guess I deserve such treatment. Especially after betraying my sweet dear Fluttershy and her friends only a few weeks ago.         I brought the plate to my lips to drown my thoughts, but found it empty. I threw it over my shoulder aimlessly and starting walking to Fluttershy.         The animals around her perked their ears in my direction and scampered off, not even trying to hide their fear. Fluttershy turned to face their plight.         Her face was squished into a frown. Upon recognition, her face softened into a light smile.         “Oh, I didn’t see you there Discord.”         She bowed her head to hide behind her cottoncandy-colored mane.         I waved a paw to greet her. “It’s alright about the animals Fluttershy; I understand. I’m just here to inform you that I’m leaving for a morning flight.”         She smiled softly.         “Okay Discord, don’t be gone too long.”         Fluttershy turned back to trail her animal friends and walked away. I jumped and aimed to hit the ground. Exactly as I had expected, I missed the ground and fell through the sky in the direction of Ponyville.         As I streaked across the sky, I started to ponder. These days are so terribly dull! Even if I have revoked my desire for chaos so I could bask in the pleasure of friendship, I still have a needfor it.         Below me, I watched as a large red stallion carried a small dull-yellow filly. She was perched atop his back as he trotted towards town. I stopped myself and watched the two. Surely no one would mind if I… had a little fun.         I watched as melted butter seeped out from the stallion’s fur. The little filly struggled to stay steady as the friction keeping her in place diminished. The large stallion stopped and turned back to see what was happening.         As he did the filly slipped off and landed on her butt onto the ground below.         I chuckled at the sight and was about to continue floating on by, but the filly became determined to stay on the stallion’s back. She waggled her haunches as she prepared to leap onto his back.         She released the tension built in her muscles and leapt onto his back. Instead of stopping when her stomach impacted the stallion, she slid right across him and face-planted into the ground.         I guffawed and slapped one of my knees. The stallion nudged the filly and turned to look up to find the source of the laughter. Did he hear me? Oops! Better go.         I snapped my talons. My surroundings replaced themselves with that of Ponyville right outside of Twilight’s crystal tree.         I stared at the tree in question and rubbed my chin. What a strange material for a tree. I do say it looked better when it was made of wood.         I slunk to one of the windows and looked inside. Twilight Sparkle sat at a desk with a quill and paper, scribbling away on the parchment. Her tongue was stuck out and her face was twisted in an act of concentration.         She lifted the quill and dumped it into a vial of ink.         I chuckled as she set the tip of her quill back on the paper. Ink splattered outwards from the point of contact. Both Twilight and her letter was completely covered in black ink.         Twilight dropped the quill and spit, trying to wipe her tongue with a hoof. Unbeknownst to her, she failed to notice that hoof in question was covered in even more ink than her tongue.         I laughed like a madman after her face scrunched up as she realized that she was spreading more ink onto her tongue then there had been previously.         I rolled over in the air and floated on my back, my chest heaving as I applied a paw directly to my forehead and howled in laughter.         After another few seconds, I flipped myself right-side up and looked back through the window.         Two lavender eyes and a glare strong enough to disgruntle the most strong-willed of men met my gaze. My paw reached for my chest and I pointed a talon at her.         “Oh Twilight! You should’ve seen the face you made after licking that ink!”         “I did not lick the ink, Discord. I know you did this. I thought you had changed for the better!”         “Tsk! Tsk! Tsk! You should know by now Twilight, you can take the man out of chaos, but you can’t take the chaos out of the man!”         Her face turned to one of confusion.         “What exactly is this -Man- You speak of?”         I waved a talon at her and spoke, “That's not important right now. What is  important is the fact that you”- I pointed a talon at her -”licked ink.”         She grew frustrated and rashly responded, “I did not lick ink!” She threw her hooves into the air, frustrated.         “Maybe I should gather the girls and tell them that you are up to no good again, I’m sure Fluttershy would not stop us after what happened with Tirek!”         I winced, then feigned fear.         “Oh no! Not again. Please don’t place dear old me back in stone. I’ve grown senile, you see! Old age has done me in!”         On the outside, I was my usual self, on the insider however, I felt pained at her low blow. Twilight knew how much Fluttershy means to me and how dearly sorry I am for betraying them as I had. Oh well         Her eye twitched and she growled out in frustration, “Uuuugh, why can’t you just stop making problems for one minute! You’re driving me crazy!”         I pulled on a chain and a whistle resonated in her crystal palace.         “Sorry dear, but that train left long ago! Now what can I do for you to fix this- Misunderstanding.”         She faced hoofed.         “Just get this ink out of my mouth.”         “As you command.”         I snapped my talons and watched as a small octopus crawled out of Twilight’s mouth and dropped to the floor.         She gasped and fell backwards onto her haunches as it flung itself out the window and past me.         I gave her a warm smile, “It’s done!”         She opened her mouth to say something, but thought better of it and walked back to her parchment. I waited for her to respond, but she just scrapped the paper and continued writing on a fresh sheet.         “Well? Anything else you need, Princess?”         She sighed, “Nothing else Discord, just leave me alone to do my work, please.”         “If you say so, have a entropic day!”         As I floated away to find something else to do, she paused her writing and whispered to herself, “Hopefully not…”
