The crowd is cheering, hooves pounding the ground making the whole building tremble, bass wobbles pulsing through the crowd like a heart beat keeping them alive. The room pitch black say for the flashing lights of green, neon blue, and neon pink. The area smelling of sweat cannabis and sex trails through the club. The stage filled with speaker systems, a mixing table, a laptop, and a white unicorn with purple shades and a hoof raised in the air hoof pounding the ceiling. Nothing is heard but the sound of the name ,"PON-3 PON-3 PON-3!!"
Everything is bliss, everyone loves you, no worries its a dream come true.
........But like every dream you have to wake up...
"Beeep beep beep!!!" 'Buuuck why now' the electric blue maned mare thought. "Vinyl get your ass down here your gonna be late, unless you don't wanna get paid I suggest you get your keister in gear!" a scruffed voice said sounding annoyed.
As the mare sat up, two ruby eyes scanned the room which was her apartment for the familiar voice repeatedly calling her name sounding more and more agitated every time her name was called. "If I have to come up there im gonna throw you down the damn window now move your ass!!" After hearing that she finally looked out the window to find the voice of her misery and for the moment annoyance. "Im coming dad jeez!" the mare said sounding half hung over.
After about ten minutes the mare came out of the building. She was a pale white unicorn with an electric blue mane and purple shades that covered her eyes hiding any emotion in her face, she was wearing a dirty powder blue button up shirt that said 'Neon's Carriage Repair', and wore and expression of disgust that even through her shades you could notice three city blocks away.
"You better get that blank flank of yours in gear and take that shitty expression off your face before I give you something to be pissed about." Her father said in a threatening tone. "Dad can we just go please." 'Please don't start with this now' The two made eye contact for a few minutes her father looking like he was about to go for the throat he grunted and stated "why are you such a lost cause, c'mon lets go". Holding back some of her tears and her anger she stood there and watched the man she called dad flag down a taxi.
This is the story of Vinyl Scratch and her rise from rags to riches.

"Vinyl, Vinyl get up sweetie its time to go to school" a soft comforting voice whispered in her ear. her ear twitches to the sound of her mother calling her. the young foal stirs in her bed not wanting to get up *groan* "C'mon sweetheart you don't want to miss your first day of school". Vinyl's eyes open revealing two ruby orbs staring at a cream colored unicorn with soft blue eyes and a sweet smile on her face.
When the foal had realized what she just said her body rose with excitement. "My first day of school!!!" Vinyl squeed to the top of her lungs. The white foal ran and fell off her bed but quickly popped back, slightly shocking her mother she couldn't help but smile and chuckle at her daughter. The bedroom door slowly opened and a scruffy voice asked "Is she up Dawn?". She nodded giving him the signal to come in. The stallion had a light rust brown coat with a navy blue mane with a slightly lighter blue streak going through the center, his eyes were the same rusty color as his fur.
"Vinyl I have something for you" Her mother said. Hearing her say that Vinyl seemed to freeze in place. "A present?!" "Yes Vinyl but im gonna need you to close your eyes for me." The excited and giddy foal quickly comprehended and closed her eyes as tightly as she could. after about a minute her mother said "Okay now you can open them" Vinyl opened her eyes to see everything in a dark tinted color. "Why don't you look in the mirror?" when vinyl approached the mirror she saw herself with a pair of shades covering her eyes. Vinyl's face lit up brighter than Celestia's sun. "Cool!!! Thanks mom you're the best!" She ran almost tackled her mother to the ground. "And here's the cool part, they're adjustable so you don have to buy them again in another size when you get older".
"And I have something for you too Vinnie". "You do?!" The earth pony took from behind his back a white saddlebag with a music note on it. Vinyl's eyes widened with excitement. "Whoa." "Heh yeah I know how much you love music so I got something I thought you would like". The white mare looked herself over in the mirror one more time "I look good". Her parents including her laughed until her mother looked and saw the clock. "Oh Bucky its time for our model to go to school". After regaining his composure he nodded his head agreeing with his wife "Right, well Vinnie you ready to go?" "Yea" After giving her mother a hug her and her father were off.

Vinyl walked out of the school house just as giddy as she was when she first got there, but then her stomach started to tighten a little. She could tell something wasn't right but she ignored it. As the foal got closer to her house, the knot in her stomach tightened and started to grow. By then she hadn't noticed it but she was pacing faster and faster to her home until she started running full speed back. The smile on her face quickly turned into a face of concern and fear.
As she approached her house she saw an emergency carriage and police carriages surrounding the place she called home. Her father was sitting on the edge of the porch and he seemed to be on the verge of crying. By then she was right in front of him. "daddy what's wrong?" no answer "Where's mom?" With hearing that her father started to sob uncontrollably, with tears welling up in the foals ruby eyes Vinyl asked with a more serious tone "DAD WHERES MOMMY!?". But those rusty eyes that Vinyl looked into told the whole story. The white unicorn ran inside to almost immediately see a cream colored unicorn hanging from the celling fan with a small trail of blood trickling down from her mouth. The foals eyes widened behind her shades, with rivers of tears flowing from her eyes. The last thing that was heard was a loud scream from a petrified unicorn "MOOOOOOOOM!!!".
Two years later------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There is a field, a grassy field with one tree. There is a family, one mare, one colt, and one foal. They'r holding hooves while dancing in a circle. There is a filly in the distance staring. After a while she starts to move in closer to observe. The sounds of laughter becoming duller and starts to bring a shiver to the fillies spine.
"Hello" the filly asks.
No answer.
As the fear and unknown darkness start to set in the filly grabs one of the mars legs to spin her around. As the mare turns around the filly falls back and hits the ground as she sees that the mare has no face. And as she stares into the mares face the colt and foal hold the filly down and her head up. And the more she stared into the face, the more she saw images of her mother. Screams of pain pierce the fillies ears. Then the image that haunted her since she has seen it, a mare and a rope...........'THUNDER'
In a flash the young filly wakes up. Its still night and vinyl sees nothing but a dark room, and hears the rush of rain and the thunder which saved her from the nightmare that she felt nearly consumed her whole. She takes a moment to catch her breath, then reluctantly falls back into the slumber she now feared.
11:42 A.M. That same day
"So vinyl how are you doing", a soothing Trottingham voice said to her.
"I.......i keep having the same dream. Over...And over again. And it always ends the same way as before."
"Your mother", the doctor confirmed.
"Y...Yes" Vinyl said starting to tear up as she talked and started feeling a little sick to her stomach as she went on. "Its like...I cant get that image out of my head, b-but there more to it now." she said catching the doctors attention.
"Hmmm?" the doctor said sounding intrigued.
"Well now im starting to hear things..A-and see things"
"Like?"
"Like my mother. I see her taking pills, like..pain pills or something."
The doctor was writing down everything he heard. though his face wasn't showing any emotion, he felt for the little filly. Nopony should have to endure what Vinyl had been through. He wanted to stop right there, break down, give her a hug and tell her that everything is going to be alright,but he had to be professional. "So...what kind of sounds are you hearing when you see those images?"
Vinyls eyes, though hidden behind shades you could tell they shrunk, a cold shiver went up the white fillies spine. "Screams...."
"What kind of screams?"
"like shes in pain..or she needs help"
The doctors eyes became more serious. He didnt want to do this but it was protocall.
As the colt walked outside his office he became face to face with a rusty furred colt '"So?" The brown colt did nothing but sighed and the words 'Im sorry' seemed to seep out of his voice. The rusty colt looked at the paper, his eyes grew wide filled with anger and some might even call it rage. But he quickly regained his composure.
"Ambien and Ritalin.....Your giving my seven year old filly Ambien and Ritalin!!" by now he had the brown colt by the throat against the wall. "Just what the buck are you trying to pull! Shes a child!!!" And with a face of utter realization he muttured "my child" finally losening the grip on the doctors neck.
After catching his breath the brown colt had stated "Im sorry, i didnt know what to do. We've been on this case for two years now. This was the only solution." Seeing the colts face flare up at the sound of that the doctor quickly restated."Just give her three weeks. Just three weeks and then come see me again thats all i ask Mr.Scratch"
three weeks later--------------------------------------------
Vinyl sits in the waiting room of the doctors office. As her father walks out she notices that he looks at her. Not with concern but with dissapointment. "C'mon lets go", the scruffy voice that was once filled with joy now of anger and bitterness.
Once the carriage stopped they got out and started walking twards their home.
it wasnt much, or hardley anything at all. It was a small town house on the not so good side of trottingham the outside was old and worn, the interior wasnt much different.
Once they got inside Vinyl went strait for her room, hearing her father call her name she turns around to see a half drunk colt bottle in hoof. "Hey Were gonna bE moVIn so pacK UR shiT." Though she was unamused with the horrible slurring of the colt standing in front of her she still continued on to ask.
"Where to?"
"MAneHAttaNNNNnnn", the word was blurred out do to the bottle forcing its was back into his mouth. Gulping down the rest.
Now fully drunk he finnished his sentence "soooOOOO PACK UR SHHHHIIIIT."
As Vinyl closed her bedroom door she opened her pills and took one then she stopped, and looked into the bottle. The miltiple tablets of Ambien staring her back in the face. Her face was blank, there levetating in her face were three pills. She opened her mouth and swallowed. The feeling was amazing, it took all of her worries away she felt nothing. And it felt good. Soon she picked up her guitar and started to play a song.
The only thing that she remembers is well... nothing. But she sees posters on the floor things thrashed around into her room and slowly her memories started to come back. But then she realizes something coming on. A very big headache, it was so bad that she could do nothing but close her eyes and even then the hammer fell even harder. then a burning sensation in her throat. which turned into a large lump. On instinct she got up and slumped her way to a trash can tripping on bottles of Apple Jack Daniels along the way. Finally she let it all out , when she finished she looked up and saw a picture of her mother. Tears started to well up in her eyes and with a whisper she said "Mom h-help m-me" before passing out in a puddle of vomit in the middle of her room.
