Big Macintosh moves to Appleoosa after getting a message from his cousin Braeburn that there was a plot of land that just opened up and needed to be farmed. Not long after he arrives, Big Macintosh learns that the Flim Flam brothers have set up a factory on a ridge near the only water source, and are dumpong all kinds of muck into the river, destroying Appleoosa's crops.
