It was after the founding of Equestria it began.
Life and Death had stood sentinel over ponykind for all these years, watching that they themselves had formed with their own magic was frozen with hate, fear, chaos and darkness. The Balance was vastly unequal. Death had too much power over Life, as ponies starved and froze because of the unyielding hate which drove them apart. And Life could do nothing to restore the Balance, and he was undoubtedly sure that the land he took so much care to nourish over these years was lost. The three tribes were too far apart to help themselves. And Life watched, bracing himself for the worst.
But when the hopes were slimmest and there was but a slither of power that Death did not have over Life, the Scales tipped in an instant, swinging to an exact equal, almost too perfectly to be natural. But it indeed was, as Life's rightfully equal power was fed back to him from Death's. Three ponies, all of different tribe descent, had saved themselves and the rest of their land with... friendship, of all things, something which had been unheard of in the land for many many years. Singing songs together, melting their fellow comrades out of the ice of some troublesome Windigos.This friendship was strong enough to even drain the power from Death herself and restore the rest of the land and the bond between the three tribes. They united and formed their new land. Equestria.
Many of you do not know the story which came after. Some like to cast it aside, believing there is no power higher nor equal to the 2 Sisters. They do not like to acknowledge the existence of Life and Death as rulers.
But I will speak the truth.
Lies threw me from my rightful throne where another Princess now sits.
And I intend, by all means, to take it back.
